Really enjoyed our stay and the valuable local information from Victoria the lobby ambassador.
I really liked the breakfast, the fact that there was two separate rooms with a pull out coach was amazing too. Really pretty pond through out the hotel.
Spacious room, very clean and quiet. Hefty valet charge--but no other parking options (like a parking lot), which for a suburban hotel is odd and unexpected.
Excellent service Room a bit warm on 8th floor
Excellent service, location and I would recommend it to others!
I only stayed one night but it was very nice and I liked the breakfast.
Location is convenient. Check-in staff has as much personality as a cardboard box. Hotel isn't super clean and lighting fairly dismal.
free shuttle transport to the shopping district and town
The lobby obviously had been renovated. The breakfast was a cut above for that kind of establishment. When checking in I was told that I wouldn't get any IHG Rewards points for my stay. Apparently, if the reservation is made through Hotels.com, there are no rewards points given to the guest--the very person who is paying the bill and to whom the points should be given! I don't care through whom I book a hotel room; I don't even think about it. Hotel rooms are booked through some sort of intermediary all the time. That's how the hotels fill their rooms: they use booking agents to get their rooms in front of the biggest audience of potential customers--duh! The most irksome thing about this is I purposely chose the Holiday Inn Express OUT OF LOYALTY. Why would I ever chose an IHG property again when they don't count every stay I make, every dollar I give them?
To be fair I'm a Marriott person and the Walnut Creek Marriott was full. This hotel isn't bad at all, it's just not the Marriott! ; ). Clean and kept, just if you are a light sleeper, make sure you don't get a room facing the freeway.
Everybody was very polite and made us feel welcome. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a pleasant stay.
We were thoroughly pleased with our stay. From the breakfast and lovely grounds, to the extra friendly staff, our time there was very enjoyable.
extensive breakfast, plenty of food friendly staff afternoon cookies, a nice touch free parking, a real plus room clean except for carpet near bed :((( the building is a little 'old' see comments on other side
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were very patient with us sorting out the various family names, who got what rooms that multiple bookings thru hotels.com caused. Key card glitches. Seemed like every time we left our rooms someone's key cards weren't working when we returned. Also, rooms could use a little updating, starting to look a little worn.
Efficient, clean and comfortable. Very well located for my needs. Good price. Staff very friendly and helpful. I stay there at least once a year since my older son lives around the corner but does not have space for me. It would be nice to have some vending machines/ice on the first floor.
Great prices, clean, excellent buffett breakfast, good location, and parking garage! Loved our stay!
Hardwood floors, bath amenities noisy room, clicking sound all night, I was in a room located behind the elevators so I heard them running THE ENTIRE NIGHT. Updated hotel but I doubt I'd stay there again.
Good location to freeway. Decent rooms. A bit overpriced for what you get, but in range for the area. Valet parking only @ $21 for one night. What they didn't make obvious is that there is free parking nearby.
Gym Price of breakfast
I love staying at the Walnut Creek Marriott! Every time I stay there the staff shows the most gracious hospitality. I always feel like I'm visiting friends every time I'm there. I am very particular about the hotels I stay in, and this is by far my favorite one. My room is always clean, and the area is always quiet. I can't think of a problem I've had that the Marriott staff resolved without issue because I've never had a problem with any of my reservations, room service orders, or special accommodations. Oh! I can remember that my most recent stay was the result of an unfortunate situation, and the staff gave me a complimentary $10 credit for a drink at the bar. I know it's small, but the gesture was nice; they acknowledged how upset I was and made an effort to brighten my day... that drink definitely helped! They new I needed it hahaha In any case, Walnut Creek Marriott is and will always be my first choice. N/A
The service was outstanding The rooms could use updating
staff is very nice. First, had to move rooms, heat not working in the first. Second room, some TV channels not working. The place is newly renovated but the work is marginal in places, for example, in my room the composite floor planks (no carpet) had gaps to the subfloor. Been at this hotel a number of times, not sure its the same.
the comfort and staff no everything was perfect in out 21 days trip was the best hotel we had
Well located for SFO International airport, but out of any flight paths. Quiet marina location with convenient restaurant 2 mins walk away (Horatios). The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and the complementary breakfast was excellent. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay within 30 mins of SFO or Oakland Airport
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Location was convenient and it had all of the amenities I was looking for. No. I was very happy with it and will stay there again.
View A bit dated
The weather That I can't use a prepaid master debit card to pay for hotel.
The view from my room and how quiet the location is
Great location, beautiful setting, friendly helpful staff.
Very friendly and helpful staff, very good breakfast and nice view. They also had a shuttle that was free of charge and could use for your traveling around the city
Pool and spa area are beautiful. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Great location, close to freeway and BART. 20 dollar per night parking fee. Our room had a view of the kitchen roof.
Michelle (i think that was her name) upgraded us so we could get an early check in; our reserved room wasn't ready. Other than Michelle, the other staff was apathetic and not particularly helpful. E.g we went to the front desk to request the shuttle for 15 mins later. The shuttle driver was there and said, "I was about to take lunch, but I guess I'll take you. It has to be in 15 mins." We came back 15 mins later and waited another 15 mins before he took us. There was another valet/shuttle driver so not sure what that was about. It was Sunday afternoon, not busy. We were also charged $10.85 for a beer and a smart water from the mini bar even though we never opened the mini bar. They did reverse the charge after I saw it on my credit card statement and called but seemed sketchy. Overall, it was disappointing. I'll stay the Renaissance in walnut creek over this place.
Luxurious. Friendly. Paid almost $700.00/2 nights. I only used it to sleep so it was not worth it to me. The parking fee seems too much when hotel fee is already high. The toilet paper is rough. They checked me out for a different persons room and when I called it took them a while to find the mistake.
This hotel has functionally become my second home. My husband and I are both from the bay area and this is the perfect spot central to all of the grandparents. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The service is excellent. By far, my favorite thing about this hotel is that it has an amazing gym with everything you could possible want. The kids world, made my children want to move to Walnut Creek, they loved it and want to know when we are coming back!. Cant say enough about this place, we love it!
with club sport connection - good facilities for excercise/relaxation clean, well-tended facility only valet parking - or try to find something out on the street and walk...
Nice and simple, i would recommend it to any one The housekeeper do not know how to knock before coming in and should wait for request of anything form the guest before coming to the room...
Easy access to San Francisco from that location, via ferry. Very safe area to stay in, clean suites, loved the continental breakfast that was offered. Shopping plaza across the street offered light dining choices (and shopping, too).
Huge room, even with a small kitchen (oven, stove etc) Without plates, utensils etc etc a kitchen is useless. The fridge had a weird smell (like 10-year old fungus).
we enjoyed our stay in the Coral Reef Inn. Nice facilities, clean and spacious rooms. The kitchen was good, but the kitchen utensils were not available (only in the guest kitchen), this was the only negative point about the Coral Reef Inn!
Staff were helpful and friendly. Overall cleanliness of room was OK just smelly weird. It was an old dated room with average cleanliness. TV from 1972.The location was great.
Wi fi problems
The location was excellent Room, expecially the carpet needed cleaning. Prior occupants obviously used kitchenette to cook and smell was still strong.
Great breakfast; rooms were quite roomy and clean; wifi was good; balcony was nice touch. Walking up steps not easy.
Loved the location and the price, as well as the friendly and courteous staff. Will definitely return again The decor needs a little bit of an update.
It's inexpensive. The pull-out bed was broken and the roll-away bed (to replace it) was uncomfortable.
I liked the location, the price and the cleanliness. It is dated (1968?) but well kept.
This is in an excellent location if you need to get to downtown Oakland without actually staying in the city. It's also near major stores and restaurants. Will stay here again.
Great value great location Bar next door throwing things off the balcony at 230 in the morning
Paid extra to get a nicer room with a king size bed, instead I got a very cheap room that needed remodel with a king size bed that the sheets were too small to fit it. The sheets didn't even stretch to the edge, they were just laid on the mattress and during the night it came half off. I woke up during the night several times because of that. When complained in the morning they just said sorry to hear that but refused to give any kind of compensation.
It was conveniently close to my work. Manager was horrible with his customer service and could not accommodate my needs when I had issues with the room not having most outlets working to charge my devices for work. The room itself was really outdated and needed remodeling, most of their lamps didn't work either. The shower was a bit dirty and worn out. Overall a bad experience that I had to just leave.
Excellent location for visiting downtown and pier 41 in San Francisco by ferry, 20 minutes ride.No parking hassle.
Staff was nice. By the water. Nice pillows. Rustin the bathroom. Small room. Rooms are adjoining and there is a lockes door which other people tried to open. Ceiling in the bathroom was cracked. Bed was uncomfortable. TV remote didn't work.
We were on a 2 day city break to San Francisco and were shocked at the prices of hotels in the city - then found this place. Just 20 minutes drive from downtown SF and a third of the price of the cheapest SF hotel. Plus nice setting on the bay, clean rooms and friendly staff.
We had a great stay. Jeremias was absolutely the BEST manager I've ever seen. Extremely helpful. He went out of his way to print out two separate sets of directions when we realized our group had been split up. He was quick to deliver extra pillows. The breakfast was fully stocked when he was there. Construction on our building started at 730am. So much for sleeping in. I was surprised we weren't warned. The last day we were there (Jeremias wasn't) breakfast was skimpy. Our plan was to lounge around until check out time but we promptly left when we realized the construction in our building wasn't stopping.
I liked the waterfront area, the pool, the breakfast was good... It was quaint & nice outside of the room. It wasn't super conveniently located to stores or anything else for that matter. The room was small. The shower was a tiny closet with no tub.
Good Quiet place but don't have good restaurant near hotel Breakfast to poor, room for Breakfast not comfortable
We liked the location and the friendliness of the staff. The bed was remarkably in good shape. Small room, not well maintained and a bit dirty. The linens were shabby.
My husband and I enjoyed everything about the hotel. From the great views to the comfy beds. It was very pleasant. Thin walls. It wasnt very bad though, you could only hear the neighbors when they were talking pretty loud.
It was Cheap and had extra bed in the couch. I got what i paid for. It was what i expected it to be.
The food options and the service I received from the chef were excellent. I would suggest having bottle openers available in the rooms since beers are sold in the hotel. Or sell beers with twist off caps. Clean rooms and bathrooms. I left an electronic device in my room. Within 15 minutes of checking out I called and notified the lady at the front desk who assured me that housekeeping hadn't been in the room yet and she would call right away to ensure they pick it up. When I arrived 3 days later to pick up the item from the front desk, they had heard nothing about the situation and in fact housekeeping said they never found the item and so it was probably sent out with the laundry. I had to leave and wait for a second investigation at which point my device was found. All in all I found the staff to be unreliable and untrustworthy as they did not follow up on my concerns and did not call back when they said they would call back. I had to get upset at the front desk in person before someone took me seriously,
Everyone was really helpful Showers aren't a fancy as others I've stayed at for the same price
location ease to fine free breakfast. sofa bed. i need it to upgrade to a 2 bed with a sofa bad, the staff told me they did not have room with 2 beds.
Loved the location. Felt safe, close to airport, and also close to the bay. The roads around were a little confusing.
Great location for Raiders fans. airport shuttle. Great staff
We always get king suites with Hampton Inn, and have yet to be disappointed. This particular suite seemed a little bigger than average. Perhaps it was the floor plan.
Love the do it yourself waffle breakfast Flat screen tv did not have hookups for my digital camcorder
Quick check in. Clean and spacious rooms. Accommodations
Excellent buffet breakfast, helpfulness of staff
Simple and cleaning no
The comfort of the room. The room next door sounded like the people were in our room, when they were talking. The talking woke us up at 6:00 am.
Very clean facilities, quiet location.
First, I found that staying in Alameda as opposed to San Francisco, our destination, was not a bad idea at all. Parking is available and included. The room was spacious and clean. Continental breakfast was excellent; it included everything you would expect in a decent hotel. The mattresses were too soft for me, but the pillows were nice.
Great place to stay breakfast bar quick and easy
I appreciated the buffet breakfast, morning paper, fitness center and suite design of the room which allowed me to have a separate area for my laptop. It was also convenient to public transportation and close to two good restaurants and a drugstore. Moderate street noise (mainly from sirens), but not a huge problem.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a minor issue with the room which they attempted to resolve immediately. It was also nice to have a decent size room with a separate sitting and sleeping area after having been in a room for about the same price across the bay that was a third the size. It was also 2 blocks from the Fireside which is a bar that one of my friends opened. That was the only reason I was staying in Alameda at all ;-) The pancakes were pretty lousy (Sam liked the waffles though). The air conditioning would not shut off in the room and we had to have someone come and fix it. They were super helpful though and offered us another room.
Convenient to a Chinese restaurant (east ocean - 1 block away) where we were guests for a birthday banquet. Easy to find through the Webster Street tunnel to Alameda. Cold drinks machine on every floor. Breakfast room could not accomodate all the guests wanting food at the same time. Encourage guests to take beakfast trays to their rooms.
Clean and people were very nice there. The decor in the room was wonderful. Bathroom had a stool for ladies like me to put on their makeup. Full breakfast was the best of all. If we want to stay overnite again we would be staying there. No complaints at all!!
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. the room was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable to work in. I did not like it that the taxi driver who the hotel called in, did not have a meter and asked a higher price for the ride to the airport than the meter would show.
The room was neat and clean. I liked that there was a refrigerator and a microwave if needed. It was close to downtown Danville. The restaurant across the street had music playing loud but it did quit about 10. There was a wait to get checked in because the hotel clerk got real busy with several phone calls and people checking in. I thought there should have been maybe a back up or additional person to check us in.
The cleanliness of the rooms, and the excellent man behind the desk that greeted me on Friday afternoon. He made every effort - I needed a blanket, got me a 1st floor room, etc., with a great attitude.
Breakfast was good each day we stayed. Requested a lower level room, did get it. With kids it would of been easier.
What a treat this Marriott Residence Inn was. Completely and beautifully renovated to include flat screen TV's. Very quiet although located close to the major highway. A running/walking path is adjacent to thje property. The staff was attentive and friendly. The breakfast room will get you going with a wide variety of choices.
The size of the room was good. The common area was nice. The location was good. The room was quiet at night. The 'full' kitchen contains a stovetop and microwave, but no oven. The front desk person was not very helpful.
The staff is very professional and curtious. Nothing
The staff was very nice, helpful. We've stayed there several times when in town for dance conventions, would stay there again. My only complaint on this last visit was the stiffness/hardness of the pillows... we all had sore necks the next morning.
Apparently extended has started to book the public without a smoke/nonsmoking screening so that if you arrive you can get your very own and that can say 'you did not book non-smoking' so there. This of course signals the end of any future business for me and pretty anyone assigned a smoking parkour for a bedroom. To his credit the concierge was understanding and let us out of the room after we arrived after six pm. This and you now have to orde kitchen gear brought to your empty kitchen. Poor guy. The above.
Excellent friendly and smart staff! Quick drive thru tunnel to Oakland. And five minutes from Ferry to SF wharf 41. Easy walk to Target and Safeway. Clean, airy room. Will stay here again.
Nothing horrible Everything horrible
Nice secluded location, private. Parking , & coffee is only available til 9:30 am
A reminder of what life was like when we lived in Walnut Creek about a dozen years oage. Plus being in a wonderfully located part of town. It was a little difficult finding it, but once we knew where it was fine.
The location Met my needs. Small, noisiest motel, might have had flees and lousy TV with cramped screen images.
the television channels available did not include pbs...but had up to four fox channels...this represents a management bias that may preclude our return when we come to see our family in lafayette...
