Pros: The room was great! But the breakfast and hospitality was even better!! This was our first time at a B&B and it exceeded our expectations. You can tell the owners truly care about the history of their town and love what they do! They want you to feel right at home. Fresh baked goodies in the afternoon and evening. Then a 5 star breakfast at the time of your choosing in the morning. Plus an opportunity for seconds?! I'm not a morning person by any means, but I would get up at the crack of dawn to eat that breakfast again! Soooo good! We were beyond pleased with our stay and will be back when we visit the area again!!
Cons: Honestly can't think of a single thing!

Pros: It wasn't far from downtown or the other things we were doing and the kids enjoyed the pool. It's nice having the throwback snacks and breakfast especially with a family. Saves us time and money.
Cons: Our sink was clogged and we called the front and they said they would have someone would come down and then called later and then we're told no one was able to look at it until morning. Also I wanted to book through Drury's website to get a discount for the St Louis Arch and it said there was only a king room available. When I went to booking.com it had the king and a double room. I needed the double room so I booked it but then I didn't get a discount for the arch.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness
Cons: Needed hot water
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Well we liked the staff a lot they were extremely friendly, nice and provided the most amazing service!!! Most especially Ms. Dianne at the front desk! I had tried to reserve another night there with Booking.com and my reservation was lost in the system...unfortunately! I ended up having to walk next door and get a room there. But it wasn’t the hotels fault! Because I was having some seriously major problems with the app I used for booking my room! So Ms. Dianne called the company and was on the phone for over 20 minutes trying to resolve the problem. We ended up not being able to resolve it immediately but about an hour later I got a message from the company that the problems had been fixed. I really appreciate the time and effort that Ms. Dianne put in for me!!! Bc she went above and beyond!! I really think she deserves bonus or raise!!!! I really appreciate everything she did for me!
Cons: That there was a $150.00 deposit required for being a local resident. I was having my house deep cleaned from a allergic reaction my husband was having and it was a big surprise to have to go find $150.00 cash at the last minute before checking in. I understand some ppl are not good ppl but I wasn’t having any wild parties or were going to destroy anything....it was literally me my husband and son. It’s not listed on the booking app so you might need to update that so ppl are aware of this returnable deposit! I was just unaware of a local deposit policy and had never heard of that before but I will check next time!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean and comfortable.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfortable, room was exceptionally roomy, and location was convenient.
Cons: The lady in the breakfast area seemed irritated when I told her the coffee carafes were empty. While aesthetically pleasing, I do wish the bathroom door (barn door style) had a lock on it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room staff pool breakfast
Cons: That after my friend who came with me he had one room and I the other he left a day early and he had some guests who were not nice scary stealing and constantly trying to break into my room while i was in it after numerous officers and numerous calls to the front desk asking for them to be removed because I paid for the rooms and didn't want them there or feel safe with them there and never were they removed from the premises now I found that just unacceptable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the way the room was laid out....everything was very convenient. Very impressed with the cleanliness.

6.8 Good
Pros: The front desk person, Nancy was very professional and helpful. Breakfast bar was good.
Cons: The first room I was given was full of smoke order. I had to change rooms. I asked for an upper floor room, I was assigned only first floor rooms. I had to walk next door to an adjacent hotel to use the swimming pool.

Pros: I liked the location. An easy shuttle from the airport after arriving at the downtown Amtrak station and taking a $2 metro ride to the airport. The BBQ restaurant next door to the hotel was convenient and delicious.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Closeness to airport with free shuttle
Cons: No
7.5 Good
Pros: Did not eat breakfast there

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly convenient hotel, reasonably priced near STL. It is older, but if you are looking for value, this is a nice property
Cons: Do not let them give you a room by the elevator! Was in 322 and heard the motor from the elevator running all night. Was constantly waking up when it was used. Fortunately, not used that much between 12 and 4.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The 3 free drink happy hour with snacks was much appreciated. The bartender was awesome and in general the whole place was great. And although we didn't need to use it, I liked that there was a computer and printer in the lobby. And the bed was comfy.
Cons: Nope. All good!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The facility was very nice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: The unruly kids in the pool, the parents sitting drinking around the pool, and the guests playing beer pong in the lobby with their kids watching and playing a mock game on the next table. My kids are not around that stuff and I feel it was not necessary to allow it in the lobby by the front desk. Not to mention the family of 10-15 that came off the elevator reeking of marijuana. The guests hampered what would have been a very enjoyable experience.

Cons: No negatives.

Pros: Very close to fueling stations and food.
Cons: the pool and hot tub was so terrible. It had 10 times the amount of chlorine necessary and the Bleach smell permeated the entire facility. Any attempt to use the pool burned your eyes. Not swimming in it ...just being in the same room. The "hot " tub was Luke warm at best.

Cons: Room a little cramped
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful charming hotel that has it's original woodwork, stain glass, staircase etc. The staff is ver welcoming and helpful and they have an attached bar/restaurant that served excellent breakfast!
Cons: The only negative would be is the hotel has a tankless hot water system that they have a notice about in each restroom telling you to turn your sink water on if you run out of hot water in the shower...we had to just keep it on so while we showered. As long as it was running in the sink we got through our shower no problem. Other than that, we loved staying here.

Pros: Our girl group has stayed at the Ruebel Hotel before. As last time, great food, great service & will book there again. The owners daughter, Emily, her husband & brother were our hosts and they were absolutely wonderful!!! They took care of our every need. Food & service in the bar/restaurant was wonderful! Make sure you try the pizza!! It's a great location & walking distance to other bars and a winery downtown. Comfy beds & pillows to boot! One doesn't need a fancy, new hotel to have a great stay or time in Grafton! You can't go wrong supporting this family owned business!!! Can't wait to go back!!
Cons: The only thing that was a problem....which was NOT the Ruebel's fault is I booked through Booking.com. I made a adjustment to our arrival date, received a booking confirmation from Booking.com but they did not update the Ruebel. That is totally on Booking.com. The owner was very accommodating and even called to check to see if we were still coming and to make sure nothing had happened to us!! Now that's service!!!

6.8 Good
Pros: I liked the size of the room, the bedding and pillows were very comfortable. Loved the hot tub
Cons: We stayed 3 nights, Night #1. Ppl upstairs were jumping around until midnight then back up at 6 am jumping around. The fire alarms woke everyone up at midnight They moved us rooms Night #2 the room was filled with stink bugs. We did take photos of them. All they did was gave me a 15.00 Starbucks gift card. I wanted a refund. They moved us again Night #3 was perfect. We were just disappointed that we couldn’t even get comfortable in 1 room. They should had refunded us for 2 nights due to all the inconvenience we went thru rather than a 15.00 Starbucks card. This was our second trip to Illinois visiting family and we stayed here both trips. This time around I give it a thumbs down.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The desk clerk was SO helpful. We had heard that we should get frozen custard from Ted Drewe's, but she told us it would about 25 minutes to drive there and that there was a BETTER, LOCAL frozen custard place much nearer to the hotel called Skeeter's. I love it when clerks are helpful like that! The rooms were comfy and lovely and we had no problems at all.
Cons: Breakfast area was just a tad crowded, but that could have just been the time of day.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This Hotel looked recently updated. The hallways were bright and clean and the room was clean. Friendly front desk staff and coffee/breakfast in the morning.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: All but the swipe card
Cons: Intermittent swipe card access. Other guests had the same problem
7.5 Good
Pros: Mattress needs to be flipped. Sink to the middle of the bed.
Cons: Not sure.
5.8 Okay
Pros: I did like the layout of the room and being so close to the exit was very nice, but that's about it
Cons: The biggest thing was the broken shower head the tub not draining the tub having a slant on it and me slipping in the tub "I'm guessing because there may have still been cleaners or something in bottom of tub that settled on the bottom of tub instead of going down drain" and hurting myself. When we first got into the room the tub had a little bit of standing water in it but the drain was closed so I opened it to drain it but didn't realize it didn't drain right until I took a shower. The pictures are of the shower head that dumped water out all around it while running because someone had previously broken it and then the standing water in the tub took about 10 minutes to drain. Then the pictures of my knee after falling in the tub as if it were a slip and slide I'm very fortunate to not have been seriously injured.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, large rooms, breakfast was good, great assortment and kept fresh and clean.
6.3 Good
Cons: Bathroom had a used needle stuck in top of mirror
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lobby was lovely and hallway is nice leading to the room. Room was nice looking
Cons: Upon closer inspection, plug in near bathroom almost caves in when you put a plug in. Lock cover on door is falling off. Desk is not stable and legs are too loose to trust putting anything on top. No ice container bag. 4 of us staying, only have 3 of each towel. 1 key card didn’t work. Minor things, but several trips to the front desk.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location Compact layout Great Parking Great tv channel selection Fridge in room Good breakfast
Cons: A few issues with the room: Toilet has canister flush mechanism which barely voided waste Two of the wall outlets were loose and one almost popped off wall when I removed my plug Had to pull plunger on bathroom sink or else would fill with water
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good. Items were well stocked. Area was clean. Plenty of seating. Love that they had flavored coffee creamers. Room was very clean. Beds were comfy. Good water pressure. All the staff was super friendly, front desk girls, breakfast & housekeeping.
Cons: Pool was out of service. It was being worked on while we were eating breakfast. Breakfast was right by the front doors/check in. So made for quite a bit of traffic. Didn't care for the "French type" doors in the bathroom. Didn't close quite right but not the end of the world. Toilet flushed really loud! But it did have a lot of power. Lol
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We had space in the room for all five of us! Check in and out was easy and seamless.
Cons: The breakfast system wasn’t great. Not enough chairs and tables for the amount of people who had come at the moment. The staff meeting room was opened up for more people to eat but that felt so secluded. Breakfast itself tasted great however!

Cons: The rooms were a little outdated I.e Linens
6.8 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good, more items on the menu than expected. The features in the room were as advertised and the two queen beds were nice. The towels were soft and fresh.
Cons: Overall, the hotel space was tight, including the lobby and sitting area. The bathroom was small and required an effort to get inside and close the door. I stayed in this hotel four years ago and had a pretty positive experience. However, the hotel has moved to a facility approximately 1 block away which I mistakenly thought was a new building. The facility is not new, and I was placed in a room on the lower level and had to walk past the laundry mechanical rooms. Also, the staff wasn't very friendly.

Pros: The fact we could get an adjoining room and the location was great!
Cons: We arrived to check into two adjoining rooms and one of them hadn't even been serviced for 2 days, the receptionist on duty didn't want to clean the room for my parents to stay there and my mother ended up changing the sheets herself and cleaning their bathroom. Unacceptable. Also, the manager never reached out to my mom to apologize for the uncleanliness or even made an effort to fix the situation. The breakfast was watered down and bland.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, eco-friendly and great value
Cons: Wished they had soda machines
6.3 Good
Pros: The beds and pillows were comfortable. And the front staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: In our first night, as we were about to turn in for the night, We noticed our bed sheets were not changed and the comforter had stains on it. Plus the rug was not vacuumed and the tables and desks were not wiped down, dusty. We didn't have hand soap in the washroom or enough towels. Basically, it seems our room was not serviced completely.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the breakfast was ok, the eggs were fluffy but the sausage was rubbery.
Cons: the handle on the shower door was falling off and the outlet in the bathroom did not work. I had to blow dry and flat iron my hair by the bed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. Continued from below: Vending machine was a refrigerator with a couple of energy drinks and a dozen V8 juices only. Snacks on shelf not in a machine. Over priced.
Cons: I booked this hotel in part because it provided airport transportation. When I called from the airport, I was told as of 6/15 (3 days prior), transportation no longer offered. No vending machines
5.8 Okay
Pros: Big comfortable bed
Cons: The Information in the Room is out-of-date. Breakfast finishes at 9am now during the week :(
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing my entire experience was horrible
Cons: The front desk associate poor customer service Housekeeping was very unprofessional Breakfast was not good at all
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beds and pillows were comfy pretty clean room
Cons: Smelled of pets Slight urine smell
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The temporary, but quite noticeable improvement in the front desk help. The large eye glasses with the polka dot back and top or the reverse it. That is proper appearance for a front desk. A quite visible tattoo on the underside of the arm in addition of the manner of dress and weight spelled immediate trouble to me and it was. Someone suddenly for the free breakfast and wherever he stood of the 3 sides available, by width alone no one else could reach the food. Soon after someone appeared and said I should not be there this morning as I tried to book some transportation. When he returned from the staff kitchen told to get out now. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay and great and efficient staff and guests.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The overall stay at the hotel was great from the room down to the breakfast. I really enjoyed the comfort of the bed and the area me and my family were in.
Cons: The service from the front desk was not very attentive at all. The parking was very horrible they need to expand parking or something. Housekeeping was poor and put a do not disturb sign on door so they want have to attend to you. I had to always go down stairs and request towels during my stay because they never tidy up the room for the 3 days we stayed. Breakfast was the same everyday change meat sometimes would be better.
