The staff at Schiphol were awful! They were misinformed about what cards they can accept and when this was pointed out to them, they became rude and aggressive. When we asked for the name of the person serving us, he said he was not obliged.

I would like to see larger cars with more room for luggage. That’s the only concern. But, one of your professional employees made a pertinent point with respect to the small roads in Europe in general and also about the potential taxes on the vehicles that are imposed by various governments in the EU. All in all, I had no issues with the car.

The checkin line at the airport was 35 minutes. Way too long. My reserved car was not available. I ordered an SUV and they only gave me a Skoda Skála sedan. With the long wait I was at their mercy to even get a car and when I brought it to their attention they said that it was the class I ordered which was absolutely incorrect. I would appreciate a refund. Hertz is a top name company and as s customer I deserve a voice.

Before leaving home I got an email to check in for the car rental. After checking in I was to proceed to the rental and did not need to go to the desk at the airport. So I walked to the parking pick up desk. When I got there the guy told me I had to go to the desk at the airport to check in. But, because it was not very busy there the guy did fill it all in for me, so that was very nice. He did not know about the email that I got the day before about checking in from home. I thought that was strange…

I reserved my car for 30 days from 10 am on day 1 to 10 am on day 30. When I went to the counter to pick up my car in Amsterdam at 11:20 am the counter agent asked “why are you late?” I told him I had reserved the car for 30 days and already paid for it, so I wasn’t “late.” He claimed that my car had now been rented to someone else, and I would have to pay about $200 more to get a different car. I argued with him that this wasn’t right and found it hard to believe that they had already rented “my car.” I asked to speak to his supervisor. He pointed to the clerk next to him. I told him I wasn’t going to pay the additional cost. We continued to argue. His other coworkers (3 of them) just watched the whole discussion. I think they were seeing if he’d be successful in “upcharging” me. The clerk finally relented and gave me my car. When I went inside to pick up the car there were dozens of cars sitting there. The clerk was very rude and unfriendly. I believe this clerk was dishonest and lied to me. He should be fired. I have no doubt they treat other customers like this and bully them into paying additional fees by being rude, unfriendly, and lying.

Excellent car, great rate, easy pickup but very difficult to contact. We tried to contact them to extend the hire period. From 10 to 12 days. First 2x by phone, a wait of approx 18 min and another wait of 30 minutes, no answer. So we sent a message to the email address on the contract. After not receiving a response for 3 days we emailed again. This time we were copied when H/O forwarded this email to the branch. We have still not heard back a day after the original return date. Hoping it will all work out and they won’t gouge us on the price when we return the car tomorrow.
