The hotel is situated close to the beautiful Squam and Winnipesaukee Lakes - and comfortably close to interstate 93. The hotel has great potential. The hotel could use a good facelift. The inside is aging - and the outside pool looks unclean.
I broke my leg my second day in NH - the hotel was very accommodating, moving me to a handicap accessible room and providing everything I needed to help me get around the room. Superb service and very nice people!
The hotel is conveniently located off the highway. It is close to a wonderful restaurant. It is close enough to my daughter's college without being right in town.
We were attending a wedding and the hotel was convenient for this purpose.
Hard to say up for sprint cup race ( nascar) No complaints
Beds were comfortable
It was quiet and away from the business of a big city. It was very clean
Great breakfast. clean room They allowed motorcycles to park at entrance
yes. The price that i paid on line was not thr right price that i had to pay when i check in. I was told from the desk person that they did not know where that price came from but it was wrong. Also, the people that stayed above my daughter and myself's room kept us up until 2:30 AM because they were jumping on the floor
Pleasant . not applicable.
Fantastic people ~ really friendly, felt like family
Feeing on holidays at home !!
Very helpful owners as regards directions and local points of interest and amenities. Great breakfasts and fires in the bedrooms was a nice touch.
Warm welcome, very comfortable rooms, great food and wine. Loved the jacuzzi!
The gentleman that owns the Inn was so witty - great sense of humor and made us feel very welcome! Nothing - the property was beautiful, the service was exceptional and the price was right!
The answer in item 2 applies. The hosts have an excellent knowledge of the regional attractions and the restaurants within reasonable driving distance. They are able to provide a range of pamphlets and will make all necessary reservations - in many cases a discount has been negotiated. Older Americans who expect to be told what to do and how to do it are particularly appreciative. Nuts, sweets and beverage facilities are placed around the house for guests to consume as needed. Port is available for an after dinner drink (or whenever!) and there is a 'happy hour' from 5.30 when drinks and nibbles are provided - an opportunity to talk to other guests and to the interesting owners. Overall, the house is most attractive as is readily seen on th The room obtained through booking.com was extremely small and in a separate house. Whereas most rooms were large and had such things as spa facilities and appropriate furnishings and storage space, the particular room was extremely cramped and lacked hanging space. The price reflected this to some degree, but the provided description failed to convey that this room was the very poor relation of the spectrum of upmarket facilities offered. I would not recommend it for any couple who wish to stay more than one night. Conversely, I would not be prepared to pay the prices asked for the other rooms/suites - the little extras provided did not counteract the overly high price structure. It should be noted that there are no lifts or inclinators.
The owners were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was not good- store bought bakery items and fake maple syrup! Yikes!
Such a plesant stay. we loved the enviorment of the Cheney House. we Will most certainly be returning. there was nothing about it that I didnt like.
The Nutmeg Inn is a charming, interesting and relaxing place to stay. The home is truly special with a fascinating history and beautiful rooms. The bed was comfy and the bathroom is modern. Everything was very clean. The setting is beautiful and a short drive to all the fun things to do in NH. We hiked, spent time swimming in the lake, browsed antique stores, watched a meteor shower from the porch, and visited historic sites. The owners were very friendly and breakfast was delicious. I would love to come back in fall or winter! We stayed in the Parsley room. I would recommend getting one of the larger rooms if you are tall because it has a low ceiling.
The room had a king bed and two double beds. It was very nice. I also liked that the restaraunts and shops were attached. I would definitely stay again.

The people. Our host and hostess went well beyond the norm to make us feel like we were among friends. The Sutton house is beautiful and stately, and our room was great. A wonderful experience. Nothing, we liked it all.
Clean confortable room, bed, and bathroom. Good breakfast. Plentiful parking. Fast internet. Location did not match expectations from promotional picture; not on water; in front of noisy, busy street. 1990's TV, no room phone, no room alarm clock. No comfortable seating in room, only a couple of straight back chairs.
Huge bathroom in the 'Blue Penthouse'. on the 3rd floor.
Cozy, well maintained and clean. The check in location is 4.6 miles away from the little group of rooms we stayed in. Shower/bathroom is very small, but manageable.
Had a terrible moldy smell and also, in the bathroom there's a shelf over the sink which made it difficult to wash.
