Overview

One of the most unique and interesting hotels in downtown Baltimore, the Lord Baltimore Hotel is a meticulously restored late 1920’s gem, rich in architectural and historical significance. Arriving guests will find a magnificent lobby featuring classic oil paintings, a grand piano, polished brass, and an award-winning vaulted fresco ceiling highlighted by an immense Murano glass chandelier.

23 stories containing 440 guest rooms and suites, created by interior designer Scott Sanders, offer old world elegance mixed with modern sophistication and private club aesthetic. Featuring charcoal-gray and black color schemes complemented by clean white accents, rooms feature cozy leather armchairs, rich textiles and plush fabrics, contemporary dark espresso furnishings, and vintage artwork. Amenities include flat screen HDTVs, mini-fridges, coffee makers, safes, and free Wi-Fi.

The restaurants on site are steeped in the essence of authentic Baltimore. Guests can enjoy fresh pastries at LB Bakery, the local bounty of the Chesapeake Bay at LB Tavern, or take in stunning skyline views from LB Skybar, the seasonal rooftop deck. Not particularly well maintained. Nice linens, comfy beds. Half the rooms mostly face another building. Some of the fixtures, particularly the ceilings and revolving doors, are historic and gorgeous. Most of the staff was extremely helpful but I was ignored in the lounge because there was only one front of house person to cover the bar and eating areas.

Room was very dingy. Rooftop bar is seasonal, which is not mentioned on the site. Paid with though Amex and had an interior room which had no view of the city. 2 out of 10. Very disappointed.

Pros (+) Very beautiful hotel and lobby. Very friendly staff and convenience of valet parking. Within walking distance of inner harbor.
Cons (-) Street noise at night was hard to get used to if you are not used to nighttime noise.
