The roof-top pool was nice, decent breakfast buffet. The staff was very unfriendly and rude, not helpful at all. Part of the hotel does not have elevator service. The first room they tried to stick me in was a 3rd floor noisy walk-up. The room looked old and unkept. I tried to get another room but the receptionist claimed all rooms were booked, (she was not professional at all). I decided I wanted my money back, but she said I had to pay for one full night if I canceled. I asked to speak to the manager who wasn't there. She called the manager and I told her I wasn't happy with the current situation. They finally found a small pint size room on the 5th floor with an elevator, but I still found the room to be old and tired looking (AC didn't work properly). I stayed the night and put up with lots of noise due to the bad acoustics in the hallway, and bathrooms that vent into the hallway which cause more noise, stink, and humidity. (I didn't get any type of compensation for moving into a smaller 1/4 of the size room) The next morning (2nd night) they moved me into a large room on the other side of the building, which I found clean. AC, TV worked fine. Unfortunately again the hallways were very noisy, other guests were loud. I would skip this place if your looking for a good nights sleep. Your definitely not going to get it unless you drink a case of beer. Cheers!
location is good, quick check in and check out, cleanliness of room, quiet night air conditioning didn't work
swimmingpool; international lelevision; incheck and outcheck takes too much time
Stained sheets, hair in drain and on floor, unfriendly staff at check-in, pool only open 8-6 when we would have wanted to use it after 6
Friendly helpful staff and clean passages and rooms. Great pillows! None
Location and that it was clean en cheap! Tha staff is terrible! Unfriendly and this in Thailand, one of the most friendliest country in the world! Most of them are unwilling to help and speak poorly english. But it is cheap and clean and that is more important.
easy access to everything . we will be staying again on way back
Location and convenience of nearby facilities The staff weren't as friendly as I remember them being from last time (Summer 2007)
It was quite comfortable to stay this hotel. No luxury but you can just relax. The room was quite tidy and clean. If you adjust water level you can have hot shower. Good value for money. After you check out you can leave your baggage at storage room with guy standing outside for 20THB /baggage/day,up to 3 month. Reception is always busy with guest arriving and leaving all day long. Plaza has lots of Indian owned shops and they are standing outside all day long and watching you walking past or tried to catch you as a customer.
Staff wasn't pleasant
Perfect location! Close to Khaosan Rd but far enough to still be quiet at night. Harder for solo traveller to meet other travellers, very large hotel.
the place was very clean for the four days we stayed. The room did not get cleaned during this time but i'm sure if we asked for new sheets it would have been provided. Ignore other comments that toilet roll and fresh towels can't be found, simply ask nicely at reception. The pool is a very big bonus and it was nice not to be staying on Khao San Road.
Boutique hotel in a great location. Locked luggage check was very nice feature.
Cool style, lots of food options and rooftop pool. Khao San road is too busy, the road was very noisy and the doors were thin.
Location Hotel facility and room are only 3 star rated
nothing If you like noise, you can stay here, if you like a small room, you can stay here if you prefer dirty beds, you can stay here. High price, low value hotel, 2-star motel even better than they are.
It is new (you know a new hotel is better than the same category one not new), in the center, well communicated, and good views. Very difficult to talk to staff. English is not the best in Thailand. They are also new in the job and they do not control very well their duties and explanations to the customer
the staff were so accomadating when we were checkin out.they stored our bags, and gave us towels to shower before we left the hotel for the airport. the only place we ate whilst in Bamgkok was in the hotel restaurant, whilst on our flight back to Ireland my friend got extremely sick with food poisining from the dinner we had the night before.
I like the location of the hotel; on the river, near khao san area. I like having a balcony. I felt the price is too high for what the hotel is. I stayed here 2 years ago for half the price, which I felt was a good price; for the price they charge now, you can find better.
The location was quite good . 2 steps to express boat on river chao praya Rooms with cityview are very very lound due to live musíc played every night nerby.
Nice restaurant facing the river. The description of the room as "City View" is very misleading. Should have been "Slum View". It was very noisy and the view was of a depressed slum. We had to keep the curtains on to avoid seeing the outside and the people from the building across the street seeing into our room.
The hotel has balkony with a view to Chao Praya. Location is also very good. Breakfast was really good and the you can have it on a terrace which has a view to the river. Hotel staff couldn't speak well in English.
Roof top pool, closeness to restaurants, bars, stalls etc, the hotel restaurant is great My view. I booked a delux city view which I paid extra for but only got a view of the road and pub opposite
Free internet via WIFI is good.
The room was very nice and clean and the staff was generally friendly and helpful. The location is also very good, in a walking distacne from the main sights (Palace) and restaurants and bars.
Great location, nice rooftop swiming pool Restaurant staff, poor breakfast
Great location, pool on the roof and good service from staff.
I loved the location. I would definitely stay in that area. Close by all great parties and shopping. .. They charged me for pillow cases and sheets after they took my deposit. Pissed me off
I didn't like the room, no hairdryer, old linen and towels, loudy air conditioner, reception wasn't friendly nor helpfull, no internet connection, my room was not cleaned during my stay. Definitely will never stay again or recommend to anybody as well.
The pool has a great view and offers a wide range of drinks the pool was a bit dirty, my room was right outside of construction, very basic, no thrills, no windows.
Sourire@Rattanakosin Island is an nice, quiet Isle whithin the busy Town of Bangkok, where your happy to be from time to time. Its a nice friendly place where you can relax. Its also very clean and the staff is extreamly friendly. I will go there again the next stopover in Bangkok. Because ist's locatet not at a main road its not easy to find. Once i was searging for about half an hour until i found it.
quiet and conveniental location; comfortable bed; considerate boss and warm reception. The bath room is too small. If you use WIFI in the room, you must open the door or sit close to the door. It is better to serve sugar bag instead of sugar bowl because I found ants in the sugar bowl in the canteen.
The hotelstaff were very friendly. Good location, clean rooms and good food.
Beautiful and clean rooms, great service and very helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious and the environment peaceful. A peaceful and quiet island in a busy city. Great location for a very good price.
Everything was great during our stay at the Sourire@Rattonakosin Island Hotel. The Staff was so friendly and warm. They were so helpful with touring tips and ideas. The breakfast was delicious. Also, the massage room was beautiful and a great Thai massage. I will definitely be back.
Great room. Beautiful wooden floors. Staff is very friendly and helpfull.
None Claustrophobic. No outlook from rooms. Highly overpriced. My opinion based on staying in similiar priced hotels in Bangkok and other se countries. Probably by a factor of 2
Hotel staff, Suree is a dedicated person to her guests; she speaks fluent English and knows very well her country and particularly Bangkok. I also appreciated the quality of fresh fruits at breakfast. Very quiet 'oasis' close to the old city. Preferable to print a map for taxi driver. If I return to BKK, no doubt I will stay again in this guesthouse. Superior room a bit small (I would rate standard instead of Superior), shower as well, but normal in Bangkok for this type of guesthouse. Much more space in a Deluxe one.
Good location - close to the center but quiet. Very clean. Owner very helpful with information about seighseeing. Small bathroom but you can get over it. Breakfast quite poor - eggs every day. On the day of leaving I ordered the taxi for 5 pm, and we were waiting for 30 mins as were not told that we were waiting for another couple (if we knew that we'd have walked to the street and got a taxi there).
I would like to mention that the hospitality and candor of the hostess was exceptional. We were treated with fruits and milk the moment we were so very tired from our long trip. She also guided us to anything we asked around the city with thoughtfulness and precision.
