Nancy and Mike were so lovely. Our room was so comfy (I came home and ordered the same linen) and we were able to enjoy some Vermont cheese and crackers by the fire in the lounge in the afternoon.. So amazing. It was such a treat to have such great home cooked food while traveling and as a bonus we got to go snow shoeing in the woods behind the house. Highly recommend! Little hard to find off the street the first time. Keep your eyes peeled for the sign. Also there is no cell reception (not a bad thing on holiday) so save down your maps. Free wifi when you arrive at BnB so it wasn't an issue once you've checked in.
Physically and operationally, thoughtfully considerate of guest needs - lots of nice touches. Recommend! Sound travelled in from the hall / stairs and exterior, but very infrequently. A/C somewhat loud. Promised snacks couldn't be found near complimentary drinks fridge.
Set back from the main road on, yes, a hillside. A few miles from restaurants, ski facilities and within a reasonable drive on Route 4 or 100 to Rutland, Ludlow, and Woodstock. Room had a separate sink and small frig, but no utensils or dishware. Room had unusual configuration. Bathroom area had no tub and shower was extremely small. Could not bend over. Toilet was in separate, basically, closet with no exhaust or fan. Breakfast was mini-muffins, mini-bagels, dry cereal, coffee, juice -- nothing special.
Nice cheap place to stay for Skiing.
Nothing My flight on Feb 14, 2015 was cancelled due to a heavy snowstorm in the New England region. This hotel (Hillside Inn at Killington) is the only business that refused to refund five (prepaid) days of stay. They could have made me pay for one day, but they took all the money for the entire vacation I was planning to take with my son at Killington.
Friendliness of the staff. Continental breakfast was disgusting, cereal was stale, cream cheese for bagels was outdated from may. Nothing was fresh or appetizing.
Stayed for New Year's Eve. Hotel room was huge with big, comfortable king size bed. Very clean room with refrigerator and nice shower. Walls were a little thin with guests making noise but it was New Year's Eve so it was to be expected. Perfect location close to everything.
Extremely close to all ski areas Cheapest price for the area Kitchen area was good, had microwave, mini fridge Parking was bad in the winter. Snow takes up so much room considering small parking lot to begin with. Paper thin walls Can't change heat, no actual heater Bring your pillows
Had a Dr appointment Room was very good and quiet I will stay here again
Staff were friendly and helpful at all hours. Room smelled of smoke, and there were burn marks on the blanket.
price was right room very outdated, musty smell shower curtain rod bent so curtain didnt stay where really needed
Great price and location for a weeken between mountains No place to hang towels really well, complementary breakfast of eggo waffles, cereal, yogurt, toast, fruit cups.
They have an early check in at 2pm. Accomodating with an iron and board, nice quiet corner room. TV had the Golf channel which was nice. It was comfortable and priced well according to hotels that were next door. Some stains on the furniture.
Beds are comfortable. My first stay at this motel was shorter and better. This stay was longer and it was average. Washer and dryer are available 24/7 as well as the ice machine. The staff did their job but not real friendly. Myself being 5'10" the room that I was assigned to had a tub and shower combo which is fine and all but when you have to duck to wash you hair it gets annoying after the second shower you take.
Pleasant staff, near Dartmouth Smelly rooms, cleaning product to strong, mask other odors. Outdated and worn, especially for the cost
Nothing Dirty stained tradh not emptied. Kayak should be ashamed to havd them listed I will not return. Even if i lose the money for a booking in two weeks. I will not ever trust kayak again
We came to check the area out reay for ski season Breakfast, when we arrived down at 8.30am there was very little left to eat and no where to sit so we left with just a coffee
Location and views Furnishings very scruffy. Car park rough. Reception barely polite. Bar staff poor. Overall disappointing stay.
We were wanting to visit Killington and arrived in mid-Septmber. The leaves had not changed yet but Fall was in the air and it was beautiful. The lodge was very nice with large rooms and spacious community areas. The hot tub was amazing holding over 20 guests with two fires nearby. There were not many guests so we had it to ourselves. They have a movie room and played recent releases each night at 8pm with popcorn. This must be an excellent place to stay during ski season.
I liked that it was close to the ski area I didn't like the fact that I had to wait over 2 hours after check in time to get a room. I don't like the fact that James, who was working the front desk when I arrived had no idea what was going on and couldn't even get a list of what rooms had been cleaned and which haven't. He just told me that he just got on duty and doesn't know how long the wait would be. Never apologized for the inconvenience. Didn't offer anything for the trouble. He then finally gave me a room key. When I went to the room there were people's stuff already in there. I had to wait another 45 minutes for a new key. Poor service. Poor quality hotel overall. The location is the only thing going for them.
Staff was excellent
The location was great. The staff was amazing. They were more than helpful and accommodating to all of our needs. They really went above and beyond even on simple requests for us. They were courteous and never once had a bad attitude no matter what time of day it was. Matthew and James were great in particular (be it checking us in at 3:30am or just making sure everything was going well as we were on our way out for the day). The hotel is also very open to suggestions and feedback to help improve the stay for everyone.
The location is pretty good, close to a lot of shops and restaurants. We were supposed to have a Deluxe King room, with a king size bed - they didn't have any available. The best they could do was a room with two double beds and a balcony. The hotel is tired, paint on railing on balcony is peeling. Huge stain on the rug between the beds was not pleasant. Sunday morning waking up to the sound of a lawn mower at 5:30am was not nice. Hearing everything that went on in the hallway and the bathroom next door was not fun either.
The staff was incredibly accomidating. The hotel.has a bike was station and allows guests to store their bikes to their rooms for safety purposes. The beds were very comfortable, breakfast was amazing, and the hot tub and common areas were great. For mountain bike guests the experience could be improved if there was a secure bike valet, that only staff had access. Guest would drop their bikes with a staff member and have their bikes retrieved by a staff member. This would keep the rooms cleaner and ensure the safety of riders bikes. This is done in other bike destinations like whistler.
Clean Comfortable bed Nice staff Pet friendly, actually welcoming. The tub/toilet room was tiny and the tub was kind of beat up. Not horrible, just the only negative. It would not deter us from returning.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of cleanliness for a hotel in this price range. We were in town for a swim meet and didn't need a hotel with all the bells and whistles. I wanted clean, convenient and affordable. This place was all those things. Beds were okay. They aren't luxurious. But I didn't expect luxury and I still got a good nights sleep. There is a small fitness area and pool. The fitness equipment wasn't top quality but was perfect for a quick workout. It was all working properly and clean. We didn't use the pool but I could tell by looking at it that it was well maintained. Breakfast had a nice variety. The rooms are not attached to the lobby. This is more like a motel. I prefer hotels and probably would not have booked this place had I realized that. Because I had a good experience here I would stay at this Quality Inn again (happy accident). The walls seem thin and could hear a lot of our neighbors coming and going. Because there were a lot of young families around us everyone seemed to settle in early. It didn't not affect our sleep. Shower is pitiful. There is no water pressure and the shower heads feel like 10 little water pick streams hitting you at once.
Staff was very nice Room was cold - told by maintenance it was because it was so cold outside the heating couldn't keep up with it. Seems like in VT the heat should accommodate all temperatures, no matter how cold.
The Hotel internet speed upload is paramount in my decision whether or not to making a return to a hotel. I will honestly stay at a Motel 6 over a Hilton if I find the internet speed to fast and reliable. It's simply a big part of my business during the few hours that I am staying at the hotel. Although the internet speed wasn't the fastest I have come across it was faster than the average hotel WIFI and about 1/2 of my home internet upload speed. I repeat UPLOAD speed and not download speed. Most hotel download speeds are basic and adequate. I was happy with the hotel room. The bathroom was smaller than I'd like but adequate.
I liked Steve, owner and his assistant. They were helpful at providing background information about the area, places to visit, very knowledgeable. The breakfast table and coffee were ideal. It is very close to Killington. Very quiet at night. Wifi was not the strongest but than we were not staying there to read our email or play games. There is plenty to do outside of the room and inn.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was great for our needs. I felt like it was expensive for the time of year and accommodations. It was after the height of ski season and before summer rates.
Welcoming and comfortable.
The hotel staff was amazing the owners were extremely friendly helped with any questions I had about the area and provided one of best experiences iv had on vacation
Staff was EXTREMELY pleasant and welcoming! VERY clean room and comfortable beds. It was very dated decor, bathrooms were small
The atmosphere was all about service and customer satisfaction. We were always greeted with kindness and concern that our needs were being met. Parking was perfect and the hotel layout was easy to navigate and was well marked. The food was excellent. It would have been nice to get a newly updated room, but our room was clean and pleasant just the same. I would have spent more time in the common room had the fire been burning more frequently.
Very homy. Staff very personable. Jacuzzi. Less than 10 minutes away from the mountain. My room REEKED of weed; fresh weed. Not that I hate weed or anything, just didn't want to experience it to that moment. I'm sure if I brought it to the staffs attention I would have gotten a different room though. Didn't want to cause any trouble.
Friendly staff, self-baked waffles included with breakfast. Easy to find, quiet. TV is up high facing the bed. Ideally lower and facing the table and chairs in the corner for those staying up late to watch.
It was a little small and only had a community refrigerator but still very nice place to stay
Parking and location Room didn't have air conditioning
Very nice for the offseason price of $90. Atmosphere is very quaint. Ended up staying 3 nights. Room was quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast doesn't start until 8 am. Too late for business travelers.
Breakfast is amazing.. so is the common room Standard room is actually sub-standard
Hotel was reasonably priced and parking was always available. Room furnishings are old and unattractive. Housekeeping was mediocre - not enough towels, no hair dryer, single beds, noise from nearby bar and passing trains. Hotel appears to be neglected and would benefit from restoration.
Relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. Nice people Good location Discount on breakfast Great breakfast restaurant attached. Poor WiFi AC was inadequate Water pressure cheap feel to the bathroom fixtures, especially the shower. Bed/mattress seemed a little worn-out. Tiny TVs Remote was obviously dirty/had "gunk" on it.
My husband and I went for a quick weekend get away and on a whim booked a room at The Lincoln Inn. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. Mara, the hostess, was warm and welcoming - a fascinating person with a remarkable back story. Her partner and chef, Yvgenia, is a meticulous cook who leaves no detail go unnoticed. Our breakfast was a masterpiece - I've never had better bacon and the fruit was cut and presented beautifully. We didn't plan to stay for dinner, and that was our mistake - and one we won't make again.
Beautiful hotel with incredibly friendly staff willing to talk about great places to enjoy in the local area. Really authentic feel to the hotel. Community centered as microwave and refrigerator were in the main lobby. Beautiful woodwork and ATD :) Only downfall was the bed was a bit uncomfortable and lopsided.
The owners are clearly in love with the area and are very enthusiastic about sharing it. Very personable. Cute, cozy room.
