Once you have arrived, it is a rather hassle free experience. The place is clean and just off the main road which is nice. Very hard to find the lodge. Came in from the other direction as I followed GPS instructions and only found the place after looking at other reviews to turn at the plane. Receptionist was rather rude after I explained that it was hard to find, as if I was stupid.
Warm welcome - Carl and Louise were fantastic hosts. Setting is lovely with views from every room. As it was winter we didn't really make the most of the outdoor area but it looks like a great place to relax in the evening during summer. Dinner was fantastic - as was the room we stayed in 'Kings Room'. Cash only... although they mentioned they are looking to rectify this in the near future. Only a problem as I didn't read all the instructions and had assumed that I could pay by card.
Absolutely fantastic! Snowy weather meant potential tribulations but we were really well looked after. Top marks.
The only thing I would like to say that I think would be helpful in any review of this hotel is that it should have on it's website that there is no mobile signal. As I had to get up very early morning to be at the airport it would have been comforting to know that a family member could have rung me to assure that I was awake.
The overall condition of the building was excellent and the position superb The service was almost non existent. I had a very large bag to take up steep narrow stairs to my room. It was suggested that I leave the bag downstairs. Breakfast was appalling and consisted of two Tupperware boxes, one of bran flakes one of cornflakes and variety of used bread in plastic bags, old dirty butter and three pots of jam. There was no information in the room regarding the tv and shower operating instructions. Needless to say there were no staff around at all in the morning, I could have left the hotel with all the family silver!!
The quality of the rooms
Very handy for the airport and quiet location in well presented house. Handy 'to-go' breakfast. This accommodation is not really a hotel, it was a good B&B, the Bathroom was not en-suite which was not clear when I booked. Expensive for the available facilities.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. Best bath tub I have seen in years. None
excellent & greatfor Bristol airport. pity we had to leave so early in the mornngfor our Easyjet flight. Will come again. I wish our room was ensuite
Beautiful landscaped surroundings and well kept 18th c building The service was friendly & extremely helpful to all of our needs Very quiet no noise at all!! Yet only 5 minutes from Bristol airport very fast & always working wi-fi Difficult to access road & turn off Room very small
It was quiet and peaceful location
Staff:Claire, Jane, Kate, Paul were fabulous, friendly, helpful, like family! Place is lovely, charming, impeccably clean, comfortable. Great views; fun pubs nearby; perfect location: rural and charming as well as convenient to main roads for excursions leaving.
We were woken up at 2:00 in the morning by an intermittent drilling sound or electrical static coming from the combination cock/phone apparatus. I had to get out of bed, battle a tangle of electrical cords and, finally, climb under the bed to unplug the thing. At 2 in the morning. Getting back to sleep was a challenge after all of that. All management had to offer the next morning was, "So sorry." I'd avoid the place like the plague, not only because of the facilities issue, but, also, the indifference of management.
The staff were very efficient and pleasant both when we arrived and for breakfast the next morning - we enjoyed our stay although very short!
We stayed in the Princess Suite and it was beautifully decorated, as was the rest of the hotel. The staff were fantastic, helpful, polite and sincere. The parking permit made things a lot easier and was value at £8 a day.To top it off, the bathroom had heated flooring! A brilliant hotel located in the centre of Bath - shops & eateries are 30seconds away.
It was comfortable, well equipped and friendly. Also nice and quiet. It has lots of stairs which may not suit everyone, but I liked the exercise and the fabulous view from the top.
Close to city centre Rooms were very small for price. The smallest rooms I've ever stayed in and not worth the price of the room. Parking was an issue.
Staf very friendly, great location for city centre and room quiet and comfortable.
The location is very convenient for visiting the historic sites of Bath, and the parking is very easy Our room was on the top floor. As there is no lift the climb up the stairs could be challenging to anyone with mobility problems
top class, all the staff were so helpful and friendly, great breakfast
Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and keen to make you feel welcome. Felt like home from home. Liked being able to see in to the kitchen at breakfast, log fire, excellent breakfast, beautiful room, central location.
