Good sized rooms - clean and well cared for None
Great location for city. Room on sixteenth floor with floor to ceiling window and amazing view. Pleasant room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Reasonably good breakfast buffet. Gym poorly equipped.
Well located on Broad Quay, close to Bristol waterfront, good restaurants within walking distance, walkable to main shpppoing district of Bristol. We booked two rooms, one for 3 people, the other for 2. The hotel placed the extra bed in by far the smaller of the two rooms and the rooms were six floors apart. The larger room, although very comfortable, absolutely stank of cigarette smoke. We were oiffered a small discount on checkout, but this should have been picked up by housekeeping and the room not allocated.
Central situation in Bristol, proximity with the airport in Stansed Stupid customer occasioned fire alarm at 4 am!!!!
Very central, excellent location for shopping! The hotel andcommunal areas are clean and stylish. Check in staff were very pleasant. the room was clean and stylish, the bed extremely comfortable. the view from the floor to ceiling windows give a great view over the city (15th floor) and make for a very light and bright room. None.
Large bed, nice view, new room.
I asked for a quiet room... I got it. Reception staff extremely efficient and friendly and professional. I liked the colours in the bedroom, appreciated having a bath .. useful in a city to relax.. and beds were comfy. car park was a bit tight with pillars, but I was glad to have it!!
Public areas spacious, breakfast good. Lifts not working, poor lighting in room, food left in corridor - not worthy of a hotel in this category.
The location near the river. Perhaps a little difficult to locate by car! Unfortunately the heating wasn't working on the 1st floor where my room was allocated. No-one offered a heater of any kind and it was extremely cold weather. I had to request milk as there was non available in the room to make a drink when I arrived after a long journey.
Brand new hotel so overall facilities were impressive. Room was large with excellent views. Good sized bathroom. Lifts not all working so long delays going up to 11th floor. Some of fittings in bedroom badly designed E.G. flexible light next to bed had already worked loose, wardrobe door wouldn't open fully due to hitting room door closer.
The staff were extremely friendly and the suite was a perfect size for two adults and one baby. None
Dinner in Palm Court, food and service was excellent
The second room we were given was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel was well located. Checkout was efficient and fast. We were initially given a room with no heating. The thermostat was going to be replaced but this had not yet happened. The weather was very cold and it was not satisfactory to be put in a room with no heating. After speaking with check in staff they confirmed room had no heating but moved us to another room which was warm and very comfortable. We were surprised that at the end of autumn in the uk there were rooms that were being booked out with no suitable heating.
The location was excellent and the htel looked very plush. The overpriced breakfast and overpriced guest car parking.
The staff were attentive, polite and very pleasant and the meal that we had in the palm court restaurant was of exellent quality and value. A shame that there was a charge for parking.
The evening meal was delicious and our waitress was very pleasant.
Staff in the main were friendly. Once needs were made known they were promptly acted on. Room check should insure that essentials such as toilet rolls are in place after each room service. Desk staff need to finalise business with you before moving to the next customer. At check out the person just walked away before I signed the bill form and I had to ask another desk staff person if the hotel needed the signed form.
The hotel was really lovely, as was our room. Great location. Will certainly go back again.
breakfast was good but slow on the poached eggs On arrival the bathroom floor appeared not to have been cleaned.
Suprised when able to check into my room at 9.30am when only asking if I could leave my luggage Suprised when apple juice in both machines was empty at 8am sunday morning, but it was filled immediately and a glass brought to me.
The hotel was clean and tidy. Everything in the room worked. The hotel is effectively screened to block mobile phone reception. The machine coffee and limited breakfast options were disappointing.
The friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the room. I would have liked to be guided to my room but instead left to wander around corridors.
Functional. Your know what you get The noise isolation between the rooms is poor. I had a lot of noise from the neighbouring rooms and hammway
being near cathedral and harbourside for the money paid breakfast should be included and very tight on tea and coffee and no biscuits
The location. The room had obviously not been checked to ensure adequate heating, lighting, adequate curtains and working telephone apparatus.
It was very easy to walk to any part of the main shopping centre close to some very good restraunts Hotel had no parking and a very strange relationship with the ncp car park
Straightforwards hotel, good restaurant and service friendly and efficient. We have used Ibis many times before and you know what you are getting.Very reliable. The bed was uncomfortable and hard.
Very good location with easy access to shops and eateries Too basic and noisy
Central location. Convenient for car parks. Breakfast had good selection and was hot. Coffee especially good. Not enough towels provided
very good location for city centre In one room none of the power sockets worked, in another the toilet seat wasn't fixed on. when we complained the staff were very unhelpful. Very few good english speaking staff
soft wide bed thin walls to corridor, so noisy late revellers disturbed us. Hotel staff did reproach them though, so not their fault.
Lack of internet connection services and small room
Great location. Real coffee in the room would be great, not instant. Ask for a room away from Hen Parties and music.
Very comfortable bed unqualified staff - there were party in the rooms all the night impossible to sleep.
Very nice location in the old part of the city centre. The hotel is cosy and well-functioning. There was a minibar in the room but it was both empty and locked. I asked could it be opened in order to put there some juice for the morning but that was not possible, since "the locks don't open very well". I suggest the minibars should be removed if they don't serve any purpose...
it's central Absolutely awful night, sent to very shabby single room right above function rooms. party below so loud the furniture in the room vibrated until 1am. Then at 7am neighbours put tv on clearly audible through paper thin walls. worst night I have ever spent in a hotel.
front desk people were very helpful. great location can't think of anything
The hotel was lovely. At arrival the lady at the reception was very nice and welcoming. She (same lady) was also very kind and friendly on the day I was leaving. Both nights at the bar downstairs the staff was very friendly and professional. This actually saved my weekend. I have got a premier room which was very good size, however it was very cold! Being there in October i would've thought the heating would be on. So unfortunately it was very uncomfortable and on the other downside, the water wasn't hot in the bathroom! So it was a very cold weekend for me. Also 2 out of the 3 lamps didn't work (the 2 bedside ones -which is a shame as I like to read in bed), in fact their power plugs were different style than the standard UK ones so I wondered how they plug them in anyway?? And the last thing, which is i know not the hotel's fault, but it was quite upsetting as both nights I stayed, my nextdoor guests were constantly drunk and very loud till 4-5am! So all together unfortunately it wasn't a relaxing weekend.
Good quality, central for Bristol. It was not an easy hotel to stay at. Examples, car park was complexed, door card cleared iteself at 11am (check out 12), gym was across road.
Clean, nice location
Helpful staff, location
Did not meet a staff member that was not friendly and extremely helpful. The Hotel Employee went beyond the call of duty in assisting us with transportation needs and sightseeing activities. The location was perfectly beautiful, safe and convenient. No lift!! Too much luggage for climbing stairs.
Loved the decoration, very comfortable bed, good sized room (superior room), good amount of parking, decent value for money in a good location, staff were happy to accommodate our slightly early check in. Windows didn't shut/seal properly in bathroom which made it cold, had to keep the door shut to stop the room freezing. Shower was dirty - toothpaste and shower gel stains on glass. A couple of carpets and finishes need updating, but still a lovely place.
Warm, adequate, full English breakfast good, Freeview tv picture quality good. No bath provided despite requesting one in the booking and phoning the hotel the day before arriving. En-suite bathroom provided with shower. General decor could do with a coat of paint.
Breakfast was good. Location was very good. No wireless internet
The hotel is in need of modernisation but the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are helpful and the breakfast is pretty good. I was only stopping overnight for an event in the city so this is all i needed from a hotel and at the price i wouldn't have expected any more. If you want pristine surroundings and contemporary furniture then pay the premium for one of the nationals. If like me you aren't bothered by asthetics and just want a cheap room ..this will do you fine.
The room was small for a couple but ok. The staff was friendly. No elevator!! We got a room on the third floor and almost died carrying 2 heavy suitcases (after shopping in London) up the narrow and steep staircases.
Quality of the breakfast - and the very slick wiatress service - would put a lot of hotels to shame. Paid car parking ( £7 a night ).
Advertised as 3 star. Was a 3 star guest house, not 3 star hotel.
The breakfast. The cleanliness of the toilet.
The service offered by Reception and Dining Room staff I felt that the Hotel would benefit from decorating
Friendliness of staff, cleanliness of the room, and the real tea and coffee was an unexpected bonus (tho I think some people might not agree, sadly). The open-air restaurant/bar next door (with excellent staff) was an added bonus, and very useful.
Dinner at the Clifton was very good Room was small, decor, particularly bathroom, was very tired. Room was very cold. Also could not get into car part as it was full and had to drive around for 30 minutes looking for a parking space!
Staff was very helpful Room size, very small
nothing. The fact that our room was almost in the bar and we heard the loud music from a party there tll 1am. I can't believe they could offer that as a hotel room to paying customers.
Friendly welcome. Nicely appointed. Good location Stuffy - ventilation poor. Bed a bit uncomfortable. Single room compact! Also garage was full.
location, parking secure late cleaning of room
Very friendly staff.
The staff were fantastic and really helpful and nice. The overall atmosphere and decor in the public areas (lounge area and dining room) was also interesting, eccentric, a bit quirky etc. but worked really well. Breakfast was good - with an interesting range of options. My single 'executive' room was a bit small and soulless- clean and functional without being in any way stylish
How helpful they were in accommodating an additional bed for our daughter in the room Nothing it was all great.
Friendly staff, good breakfast Small room
Great location, excellant restaurant & pleasant staff
The hotel was in an excellent location and the public areas were attractive and modern. The restaurant was excellent. Service was good but unobtrusive. Fruit in the room was a nice touch as was the fresh coffee. The room was clean but pretty small with very little storage for clothes - a six inch wide wardrobe not really deep enough for a hanger. Despite the cool weather the room was very hot - something other guests remarked on too. This was not helped by the significant heat being given off by the mini bar. Please take this out. In a 'boutique' hotel I would expect just to call room service.
the room was very hot even tho the central heating was off due to central heating boiler behind locked door in room and all hot water pipes ran under the floor creating under floor heating making the room overpowering and uncomfortable to sleep, apart from this room ok.
very comfortable, good quiet location couldnt get the tv to work,no instructions, couldnt lock the door from the inside
good breakfast, very nice staff at reception and at buffet. no lift
Car park at rear of hotel. Newspapers delivered to room. First room was small. Breakfast wasn't hot. Towels rough and small. Not enough mirrors in room. A lot of stairs.
Very helpful receptionist and ability to get back into hotel late at night The TV was almost impossible to operate with the confusing digital box
the breakfast and location
not enough space to mvoe around. no drawer in bedside cabinet as impossible to open. impossible to sit at table, insufficient space beside bed. Very poor layout. No shelf in bathroom for toiletries. Public areas need refurbishing.
Booked double bed, room had 2 beds pushed together. 2nd floor room - no lift. Room not as picture on booking site.
The location was great. Staff very accomodating. Very nice rooms. Parking lot was a bit small and tight to get into, but was manageable.
Lovely hotel, very homely. Great location in Clifton, really nice place. I would most definately stay there again.
Reliable broadband access The restaurant being open to the public meant there were a large number of loud, drunk individuals present when I was trying to eat and work in the restaurant area
comfortable, clean, fresh fruit parking was tricky.
Location in bristol I went to the Hotel to relax away from the presures of daily life. And found there was a wine bar/ cafe directly below my room which kept me awake.
Good size rooms Far too hot in the rooms with limited temperature control
Nothing to mention. Unfortunately this hotel left only unpleasant memories. The personnel behaved inappropriately, were highly unhelpful and unwelcoming. The room that was given had not been properly prepared for stay - the light was missing, the water stopper too, the door handle was barely fixed on its place. Only some of these problems were fixed after repeated requests. Not a single question about getting around Bristol was answered. The hotel boasts too much on its website - and this did not correspond to the reality of the room I stayed in.
For a one nighter it was clean and comfortable and the staff were excellent. No
Loved the decor and layout of basement area and coffee bar on ground floor Shower room needed some renovation.Hallways a bit tatty
Very helpful staff the room was fairly small - OK for a one night stay - not sure about longer.
The location of the hotel. The hotel was very noisy with people banging the corridor doors in the middle of the night and drunk people singing in the corridors. The maintenance of the rooms was very poor. However, location of hotel was great.
Very nice work staff bed to hard . shower to slippery. water to cold whilst showering
