Location Having stayed in 3 different Country Inns and Suites this week alone, the Frederick location was the most expensive and least satisfying. The room was 1/2 to 2/3 the size of other locations. There was minimal room to have luggage out and space to set up the iron board. The refrigerator was smaller, missing wire shelves, and no ice box. The Sleep Inn right down the street is 20% cheaper.
Price was right. Seemed clean. You could tell that the nonsmoking room had been smoked in before.
Everything I need was right there didn't have to ask for anything.
Room was nice. Breakfast wasn't good. Coffee was bad. Eggs and sausage were cold. We grabbed 2 bagels and both were MOLDY!
The front desk was amazing and the help staff were awesome! Very helpful and willing to listen to problems. Beds and pillows were comfy and the lo action is relatively close to downtown. Roomed looked like an older version of what the pics showed in kayak.
Friendly, courteous, helpful, great value for the money, complete breakfast and forever coffee and cookies (super). Looking for other Country Inns to visit! Not a d*#@ed thing!
The bed was very comfortable and the pillow was good too. I did not hear any noise from nearby rooms or the hall. I have had too many occasions of being kept awake by one or the other when staying at a hotel so I was very pleased that I was able to sleep well all three nights. I had a really big suitcase and it was work to drag it up the stairs.
bed, shower, sound insulation, wifi, climate-control, endless suburban mall all around, free coffee/tea in the lobby at all times. rare pokemon all around - none in the hotel!! the free cookies in the lobby are quite terrible. that's all the bad things I can think of!!
Manager Lee was very kind when I requested to switch room because of noise of air condition unit. She provide the good room for our family. Manger Chris was great as well. My family and I enjoyed staying at the hotel. Breakfast was good. N/A
Value for price is the thing here. Comparatively closer to a Hampton Inn than a Motel 6. Internet connectivity.
The location was great. We were able to walk to everything from food to shopping. The night staff wasn't very knowledgeable of the area which is a problem when you're trying to find a place to eat or at least somewhere that will deliver.
Breakfast buffet was excellent, except our waiter was kind of forgetful. Fireside nook in lobby was an excellent place to have a drink or chat with friends. Staff tried really hard. Towels were okay. Bath products weren't bad. The place is mid-renovation. Most of it looks dated and bland. The hall we stayed on didn't have that problem, but it did smell very strongly of glue (carpet or wallpaper I'm not sure). Our room also had a strong and unpleasant odor. The sheets were very uncomfortable, and the duvet was covered in a flat sheet top-and-bottom which ironically made it much less soft to the touch. Walking around the hotel felt like walking through a combination community college and office building. Probably the least inviting building I've seen for a "luxury resort" ever. Spa lacks surge capacity to accommodate walk-in guests during a busy weekend. Breakfast shuts down on weekends before brunch hours, and even with three other restaurants (total of 4 on the property), none of them serve brunch foods on a Sunday after 11am. Unfortunately this resort isn't close to anything, so if they don't serve brunch in the building, you can't get brunch without a 15+ minute drive. Staff tried hard, but the place gives them nothing to work with. If you're not a golfer or planning a conference, avoid this place. This is not a good resort for a luxurious or romantic weekend.
The Facilities The house keeping staff has to improve cleaning of the bathrooms and pool showers.
Pool and spa was really nice my husband loved the golf course Terrible food and service... DID NOT GET MUCH SLEEP AT ALL!!! poorly insulated rooms!
Room service breakfast was delicious, minus the fried unseasoned potatoes. Bed was soft and comfortable. Carpet and furniture are dated. Bathroom floor looked dark and dirty.
Resort is nice but in need of cosmetic facelift.
Coffee was weak. Coffee is crucial. Room service coffee was worse. Bringing your own coffee would be good advice, if you care about coffee. Some finishes were run down-tub surrounds, carpets.
The food was amazing. The location was perfect. Lots to see and do in the vicinity. The rooms were very old. The pink tub and shower are in desperate need of an update.
Rooms was clean Arrived late for check-in and despite notifying the desk that we would be there at that time they were genuinely surprised to have us walk in at 8:30pm. To make matters worse, because we booked through a third party site via kayak, they had no record of our booking. We were told that those bookings come through their email and the manager checks the email but the manager is away. The two front desk employees both stated they were capable of checking the email but yet no one does so while the manager is away? While one of them started to search through what she said out loud was "hundreds of emails" to find the reservation, the other started checking us in. Asking if we were possibly at the wrong hotel and questioning why we were so late (we drove from 4+ hours away and sat in multiple traffic delays) before slowly entering the info into the computer. When we asked her if the restaurant was still open she said no. When we asked her if there were other places we could go to eat, even if it meant driving a bit, we would, as it was our anniversary--she responded by suggesting that we order dominos, "they have good pasta bowls." For our anniversary? I mean, I get that we were late and in a small town things will be closed, but, that seems like a last resort option. Finally, the person checking the emails finds our reservation (and the request to have chocolate covered strawberries added to our room) and says there won't be any strawberries in our room (no surprise there). There was no attempt to rectify the situation and the fact that it took over 20 minutes to check us in because no one checks the email, or that they were notified of our late arrival and still didn't have the room request ready, or that they were aware we were patronizing their hotel for a special occasion and they only served to make the day spent in traffic even more annoying by offering a room upgrade, refund, dining certificate...or even apologizing for any of the above! They were oblivious and had I paid for a one star hotel, none of this would have mattered but at over $250/night in the middle of no where, this place functioned horrifically. Add to that terrible food for room service breakfast and a broken jacuzzi bath and the experience was overall awful. Would not stay there again, and clearly, do not recommend it.
The offer breakfast (we did not get there in time to try it so I cannot say how good it is) The room was quiet (we got there around 1am after a long day of driving) The staff was nice and helpful There was a dehumidifier running in the room and the room still felt damp. I think there might have been a water problem. We were on the first floor so maybe getting a room on a higher floor would have helped.
Rooms were well equipped with appliances. Appreciated the hot breakfast. There is no elevator to the second floor, so limited access.
Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast had a variety of items and it was all delicious!
Close to everything, Breakfast included, not bad for the money. Staff was very helpful. Bathroom was very small, older hotel that could use an upgrade.
Nice enough & pool No bath towels in room at first. Small bathroom.
Best solution after my flight was canceled: away from Washington prices, fair price with free internet, with breakdfast included, not far from Dulles Airport, fair level of facilities none
The hotel was just right for us, except we have a hard time locating it.
Stayed here before and everything was wonderful, however this time we received a phone call from the front desk about an hour after checking in. It was a simple "courtesy call" to ensure that all was going with our stay, however we were sleeping and therefore were caught quite abruptly off-guard by this phone call. I did not want to complain about such a courteous check-up but it was rather random and intrusive. I can't remember a single time in my life that I ever received such a call. If there had been some other more serious issue in consideration I wish the concierge had addressed it at the time of contact. Luckily no further issues were had during our stay. A lovely place to stay, just make sure you have a shampoo and conditioner and not 2 conditioners. This place has the most amazing breakfast options, yogurt to bacon to self made and flipped waffles. But I don't think courtesy calls are a standard at all, they were probably requested by someone next to our room who was exceptionally offended and discreetly courteous by requesting a call to our room. Sorry about that! Don't appreciate being interrupted.
It was a pleasant stay. Every one was very friendly. The breakfast was delicious. The food was hot.
Modern decor, clean, spacious room with a nice view. Quiet rooms. The bed was very comfy. Nice shower and complimentary accessories. Breakfast was good with choices for everyone. During a family reunion, we were able to stay there and meet other out of town relatives. Staff allowed us to have everyone meet in the lobby restaurant seating area at night for a get together. Loved the water flavored with fresh fruit in the lobby and the cookies! Outside deck area and pool were nicely designed. Friendly staff. The restaurant in the gazebo, overlooking the small marsh area with birds, has so much potential. It is in a pretty setting, but going inside to look at dinner options, the music was incredibly loud. There were also wall to wall TVs with sports and not much seating area except for the bar. We finally ordered some food and drinks and the server brought it to us outside on the deck. Inside the hotel, rooms were quiet, but unfortunately, located next to a very busy highway, the road noise is unavoidable.
Room were big and comfy breakfast was plentiful and filling and food staff was nice and polite My room was not ready by a long shot. Sink was dirty covered in what I can only describe as a black/grayish grime very nasty we decided to brush teeth inside bath tub. There where non of the usual complimentary toiletries. Also they may need a security guard at night there was a car with a busted window... Not sure if it was like that or not but it gave me the wrong vibes...
Wonderful breakfast buffet, helpful staff, readily accommodated my request for a late checkout!
Staff was very friendly, breakfast great, clean rooms, comfortable bed, and nice accommodations!
The streets to get from 279 are a bit confusing but Hampton can't be responsible for that I suppose!
The room was a good size so that you could move around comfortably. The location was convenient to the main route during travel. The bathroom door opened very close to the toilet but was fine for our family.
Everything about my stay was great. Clean rooms, close to a lot of restaurants and activities. I'm 20 years old, and I didn't know it would be an issue checking in. I was still allowed to check in, even though I wasn't 21, but I would have liked to know this ahead of time. Not a huge deal, and it didn't ruin my trip in any way, but if I wasn't allowed to check in it would have.
The hotel staff demonstrated the traits that all individuals in hospitality should show. They were friendly, caring and helpful. Any issues that did arise were resolved immediately. Truly a wonderful hotel that we plan on staying at next time we're in Frederick.
Friendlyness it's not the hotel but having been diamond and sliding back to silver it's sad to not have the same ammenities like maybe a water or a free breakfast
Beautiful setting. The staff was very welcoming but not intrusive. Guests were made welcome with complimentary wine and spirits. Coffee always available. Lots of games, binoculars, birding books, etc. Tasty breakfast. Breakfast is at 9, a little late for early risers. Decorating a little country for our taste, but spaces were large and comfortable.
Culture was good
It was a decent hotel that didn't cost too much. It's not fancy, but it's a good solid hotel that's convenient to get to, with a very nice staff and with a comfortable bed. Nothing too fancy here!
Location is excellent very easy to get to highway 270 and I70 Smell, Odor, and people staying in the hotels are very loud in the middle of the night.
Good value for the money, close to everything, convenient to have a fridge and microwave. Would have been nice to have had more then one blanket and had a hard time regulating the water in the shower.
Staff was attentive and pleasant. The instant coffee was lacking.
Adults and children in parking lot making loud noise until 10-11 p.m. Hard to get to sleep early as i had planned.
Love the location!.... EVERYTHING is close by: shopping, eating, a couple sports bars. Can have a good time. The rooms and service was great....And the waffle house was clean and neat. Continental breakfast was on point Had to wait for clean dry towels one morning but that was handled proficiently.
the room was decent size all the light bulbs in lamps worked, nice tv & bed. curtains closed easily, leaving no real gaps for peeking in. there was plenty of lighting in the parking lot. the rug was pretty dirty, the rooms being right off &open to the parking lot; in indoor corridor didn't seem very secure for a woman or child. i would for instance imagine that a single woman, or one with a baby or young child would not find the parking area very secure as it & the rooms face a side street where there is not much traffic; especially in the evenings. it feels a little isolated. being that the rooms are not shielded from parking area by a closed in hall way, the noise from people coming & going could create a robem for light sleepers.
The walls were paper thin. You could literally hear everything going on in the next room.
all in question 1
The accommodations were inviting and the room was lovely. The desk clerk was helpful and provided service with a smile.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The hallways and common areas were a little dirty.
Nothing * no ice in ice machines, Missing 50% of light bulbs , not handicap friendly, one room w/, one room w/o refigerator, a/c did not work in room 250, over priced cocktails, key failed to open door E-2 3 days in a row, towel service not consistant, had to call for housekeeping on the 3rd day (beds not made)
Clean and comfortable, friendly and helpful staff. Love the historic aspect of it.
Pls note that the hotel is just off the route 7 (but no road noise); on the outskirts of Leesburg. A short distance from Leesburg outlet village. Leesburg is well worth a visit. The bedrooms were reasonably good, but the corridors are looking tired. The restaurant and bar are a bit dated; especially as there is nothing else within walking distance.
Very convenient to both DC and other Historic sites. Quiet rooms andfriendly staff Their Busness Center was very poor. The printers did not work and could not get much help to get return E-Tickets. Spent two hours trying to retrive my schedule. Finally got them printed the day we left. Their excuse was no toner on two printers. Also they could not find my reservation until the next day
value for money
My mother and I were in town to visit with and elderly and unwell family member. Accommodations at your hotel were perfectly suited for this occasion. The entire staff were friendly and helpful. I would like to make a special note stating that Alan, the maintenance person, was especially kind and compassionate. Firstly, noticing that my elderly mother was about to walk down a recently mopped floor, he quickly walked over, offered his sturdy arm for support and escorted her so that she did not fall. It was so kind and helpful. He checked in on us a few times to ensure that we had all we needed. Additionally, Bill at the front desk made us feel very welcome after a long and emotional day. We decided to eat our dinner in the lobby, in front of the fireplace. He was very helpful and friendly. The staff at this particular hotel were wonderful. We thank you. My mother and I cannot eat gluten. We would like to suggest the addition of perhaps some gluten free breakfast choices. For example, gf cereal and gf bread. Otherwise, breakfast was sufficient.
Breakfast not included, a expensive rate for not having the breakfast.
Quite both inside and outside. convenient to downtown area. Staff that I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. Shower heads great, with one exception that it was shooting water at the wall, appeaed that the head was not fitted correctly. Safe was way to low. Toilet way to low. I am not a senior citizen and I was not able to even see the numbers on the bottom row of the safe unless I had gotten on the floor. As for the toilet the same with the height, those low things have gone out long ago, it was suitable for a child of 5 or 6 to use without help. I do not think that is the right age to cater to unless it is a family room. Then that should be asked on making the reservation are you traveling with young children. Microwave had sticky stuff on top and side of it. Refrigerator was not plugged in when we got to the room. Carpet was dirty, especially in area of coffee maker, small sink. As well as many stains in both rooms and hallways Room had a stale odor. The maps of the downtown had been copied so many times they where difficult to read. Ice machine one the first floor was not working and no sign posted. Some of these items may seem small and petty, but these are the little things that make the difference. For the room rates improvements/updates need to be made.
The room smelled terrible. We went and bought fabreeze.
I opted for the spacious room with extra towels. The hotel accommodated me with a king bed and living area with fridge and microwave. The room was very clean and was already stocked with the extra towels when I checked in. The people behind the desk were very efficient. Nothing to complain about. Nothing.
The air conditioning worked great. The newly renovated bathroom looked amazing. The beds were comfortable. I received a charge the second night of our stay for $96. Dont know what the charge is for and still havent received a refund for it. The hotel is currently being renovated so if u dont mind the sound of hammers and drills all the time this is the place for you. They advertise free wifi but we were never given the wifi password. The complimentary breakfast was a joke. We went down at 8am and there were no eggs left. They basocally had cereal and warm orange juice left. The only elevator in the hotel is so scary... We choose to stay here because there was a really good price. If it werent for that price this would have been one of the worst stays we've ever had.
Convenient to Frederick Extremely loud room, loud air conditioning that woke us every hour as it started up. Our room was near the Libby and was very noisy- people including staff were yelling in the halls at all hours of the night. The worst nights sleep!
The room I had was right next to an interstate highway. Noisey. Everything else was fine.
Clean room, friendly staff, easy parking, fridge, microwave, safe, comfy furniture. Worn out bed hurt my back, only carbs for breakfast, scary indigent long term clientele present, analog TV with poor cable reception, over-priced, small elevator.

The room was great. The bed was very comfortable and the king suite was quite large. Having an indoor pool was a wonderful amenity, and I appreciated the free WiFi and parking. The staff was very rude. They were not busy at all, but just could not be bothered. Any time we asked for help with anything, they were annoyed and put out. We asked for a room upgrade upon arrival and it took them about 30 minutes to figure it out.
great location. New hotel found black mold on wall near window behind curtain. Desk apologized on check out but seemed unconcerned.

Location fit my needs Restaurant menu was weak and not so good given the prices. They were pulling frozen food out of the freezer and microwaving.
Room was clean and attractive. Good location near stores, highway access. Doesn't merit the 3 stars. Only 1 comfortable chair in room for 2 people. No end table to put a drink/computer on. Lacking friendly amenities like all day free coffee, afternoon cookies. Courtyard brand doesn't have breakfast included like Residence Inn.
It was nice no sink in bathrooms
Convenient access to highway and close to restaurants.
Outstanding staff... Excellent service... Friendly...
The "to go" breakfast packs were awesome. It's listed as being near Dulles airport, but it's actually about 40mins away.
Free breakfast, staff was friendly and helpful
Clean, good location. Bed was like a slab of concrete. I like a firm mattress, but... Premium channel, for which they put the little monthly booklet in your room, didn't work. Nice HD television, but most channels were not HD. I find it hard to believe a hoity-toity little town like Leesburg would have substandard cable service.
Great location, quiet, and clean!
Convenient to Northern Virginia for sightseeing.
The shower was very weak and freezing cold. The 'hot tub' was cold and the pool had too much chlorine.
