I don't like how Budget tries to sell or add "basic" or "premium" insurance to plans even after customers try to pick up cars. The reality is that many people's personal car insurance covers them and will likely be involved even if someone purchases your supplemental plans. Budget is misleading customers who don't know that they can decline more easily than they can and still be adequately covered.Reviewed Mar 12 2025

no cars upon arrival. employee gave me someone else's rental. overcharged me $8 without telling me. when i questioned it, employee had a horrible attitude and threatened to take the car back and leave me statnded without a car. he was arrogant and rude. took car and it smelled of vinegar, was filthy inside and the tire pressure indicator came on 1/4 way through our trip. won't rent from budget again.Reviewed Mar 12 2025

I reserved a car well in advance of my trip into GSO airport. When i arrived they had no cars, and there was a whole bunch of people ahead of me who also didn’t have a car for their reservations. I ultimately had to rent from another place at a much higher rate (since i didn’t book in advance). And to top it off, the woman working at Budget said this happens all the time there. When I got there they said I’d have to wait 2 hours for a car, they didn’t have any. Even though I reserved one weeks ago. Instead of getting a mid sized SUV that I paid for, they ended up giving me a Chevy Malibu. I took it because I didn’t want to wait any longer. Budget/Avis person waa super rude to me & dismissive of my questions. Very disappointed.Reviewed Mar 11 2025

I specifically choose the “dealers choice” that did NOT show the car would be electric and when I got there I was told all “dealers choice” cars are electric. Seems intentionally deceitful to have 2 nearly identical listings where the only difference is one shows electric and the other does not.Reviewed Mar 11 2025

Car was damaged at pickup. Tried to report to agent at counter but they disappeared to wash a car. Tried calling customer service number on receipt but they said they could only manage reservations. Tried emailing customer service with images of the damage and never heard back.Reviewed Mar 10 2025
