Top tips for renting a car from Budget at Morelia Airport

  • The historic city center of Morelia is famous for its colonial architecture and significance in Mexican history. However, the streets are narrow and navigating can be difficult. If you’re staying at a hotel in this area or plan to spend a lot of time in the historic city center, we recommend renting a compact car. This type of car is better for fitting into tight parking spaces and squeezing past other cars on narrow roads. This Budget branch offers a good selection of compact and mini cars so you will be able to find a vehicle that suits your needs.
  • There is a one-hour grace period after your scheduled pick-up time at Budget car rentals at General Francisco Mujica International Airport (MLM). However, we recommend doing your best to arrive on time because some customers report that their reservations were canceled by Budget immediately after the one-hour window. In addition, some customers report that the office closes when they do not expect customers so make sure you don’t dawdle in the terminal.
  • If you’d like to split the driving with a friend or family member, you can opt to include an additional driver at Budget car rentals at Morelia Airport (MLM). However, you must add the additional driver to the contract when you collect the vehicle. You can add up to 2 additional drivers and each person must present their valid driver’s license in person. This service incurs an additional fee that you can pay at the Budget location at the airport.
  • For those traveling outside of Morelia to visit nearby attractions or towns, such as quaint Patzcuaro or the shores of Lake Pátzcuaro, we recommend renting a compact SUV at Budget. This type of vehicle allows you more space than a compact car, but you’ll still be able to drive easily on narrow roads. Budget compact SUVs can fit up to 5 people, but 4 passengers is more comfortable. Typically, compact SUVs don’t have as much room for luggage as standard SUVs so we recommend bringing only the things you really need on your day trip.
  • 25% of our users found rental cars from Budget at Morelia Airport for $10 or less
  • Book your rental car at Morelia Airport from Budget at least 1 day before your trip in order to get a below-average price
  • Economy rental cars from Budget at Morelia Airport are around 55% cheaper than other car types, on average

I rented with insurance coverage on my credit card, so I declined the coverage offered by Budget. Sometimes you get pushback but these guys were chill. When I returned the car I didn't get the feeling that they were searching for any type of ding or imperfection. So in general good impression. I Would recommendReviewed Feb 24 2025
