Location and rooms were outstanding. Breakfast well worth the extra cost and very helpful staff. WIFI good. Parking access
The room was lovely, plenty of room and the breakfast was excellent.
Room fab, breakfast / eating area fab, hotel generally nicely laid out and very modern. Queuing at reception to check in. Hotel should have a few more desks / staff ready for when lots of people arrive at once to check in. Probably waited 10 to 15 minutes. The price of the room!!! Very high and had no choice but to pay as attending u2 concert at Millennium Stadium. I think that the hotel would know they would be full and could have perhaps not charged the premium rate to ensure we all returned again. Now we will book up early to avoid having to spend so much money for just one night.
Very good but slightly expensive.
The location was good for our needs.
The hotel was very well situated and very clean and comfortable The service in the bar and the resturant was very poor and very slow due to a severe shortage of staff, we also found the bar very expensive and were being charged different prices every time for the same drinks.
car parking facility was too small. On the first night the hotel carpark was full and we drove for 1 and a half hours to find another overnight one. We had to get a taxi back to the hotel.Simply ridicuolous! We are frequent travellers and have stayed in numerous hotels around the world and in all that time I have never stayed 4 * and not had some kind of biscuits with the tea &coffee facilities which only had a enough milk for 1 cup each in the morning. Long queue of people as we checked in with only 1 desk open even though there was staff present.See trip advisor for comments.
Location, comfort A swimming pool would have been a real benefit
Room had great view, really clean and well kept. Lack of beverages available in room.
Rooms were lovely with great views over the city.
Location Thick dust on closet. Poor bathroon/tub design. Mediocre staff. Unwelcoming lobby. Well below other RadissonBlu properties
Close to city centre Lack of parking, all nearby car parks full, including Joihn Lewis. Overheard other guests bitterly complaining about this situation. The hotel is not cheap to stay at, one would asume that an there would be an arrangement in place.
Friendly and helpful staff
some confsion ober resevation as booked via booking.com, but staff were pleasant, confident and very efficient went out for breakfast as £15 seemed expensive.
Excellent check in allowed us to have linked for the family. Good breakfast but a bit pricey for a familyAcces Finding the hotel entrance by car is rather complicated
Helpful and pleasant staff, good parking facilities, great outdoor area for al fresco dining and a Pims or three! No mini bar - and the mini bar/fridge was actually switched off so we couldn't even chill what room service provided.
Staff, ambience, quality and value. Ideally located for city-centre attractions Didn't find any, except a room-mate who snored heavily!
very friendly and help full staff, great location will stay there again.
prompt polite service, nicely decorated room Lights in the bar were too low and made you want to sleep!
Well appointed room with all of the amenities we needed. None noted.
Location, cleanliness and very helpful staff. None.
Excellent location, excellent service, excellent hotel
Very nice hotel, great location, great service Tv awkward to work!
Staff very friendly. Good bar. Walking distance from all attractions. Close to shops. Room was spacious and well appointed. Very quiet
Good breakfast It would appear we paid above the normal rate due to a Rugby International, which we were not there for
The hotel is situated in the heart of Cardiff with easy access to the shopping centre. The hotel rooms are of a high standard and the staff are friendly.
Everything. It is a beautifully refurbished hotel offering facilities of a very high standard. It is conveniently situated in Cardiff city centre with staff who are extremely professional and most helpful.
A modern hotel close to everything. Well maintained and a friendly staff
Room ready on arrival, early at 11.30am. Cleanliness and freshness of the room on arrival. Location is great, in the city centre, 50 metres from shopping precinct. Staff we're very attentive, pleasant and helpful throughout our short stay. Nothing.
Good location at fairly competitive rates. Staff were efficient helpful and pleasant.Comfortable and warm room. the price of bar drinks especially the higher quality ones was excessive.
very comfy beds nice size room. shelving was very dusty above the tea and coffee , dust on window sill and tops of draws . noise pollution from club till past 3am we were at the back of the hotel
The location of the hotel is very good and in the city centre, Near the shops and studuim. Hotel was very expensive and room was not an executive room as we paid for. Its a lot of money for a small double room with a view of a brick-wall and air-coniditioning pipework, No Bathand tiolet was rubbish aswell
Excellent location for shopping and very good breakfast On Friday there was a party and it was a bit noisy
Comfortable room The main bar/lounge was closed, only the small bar with limited seating in the reception was open. Ranked against other similar hotel chains breakfast was not as good.
Staff friendly manner Only one roast on a Sunday lunch!!!
We found the staff to be courteous, efficient, very helpful and friendly. The hotel is ideally placed, within easy walking distance shopping centers, attractions & the Millenium stadium. Would recommend to others as a base to explore Cardiff from. There were only 2 things that I didn't like about the stay, firstly the price of a drink in the bar was excessive at £7.45 for a G&T. Secondly the breakfast was excellent apart from my husband complaining that his baked beans were "like bullets, they were that hard", but that was the only criticism.
relaxing in the bar during the evenings. the staff were warm and welcoming and it had a great atmosphere there was a fire drill just after we checked in and we were left standing outside in the cold for over half an hour, leaving our coffees and lunch in the lobby bar. :-(
The friendly staff and clean room all in a very central location.
The leasure facilities were very good. and the location was excellent. The menu for the resturant was not very good and expensive when compared to the room service menu.
Great quality and brilliant friendliness. Gave us late checkout no problem, which was a big help. Awesome massage Showers and some other things int he gym were not same quality as the hotel. Got a Double room instead of twin as booked.
Well managed hotel and, for my part, in a good location for access to the Millennium Stadium. Facilities within the hotel were excellent. The availability for parking was a bonus as this wasn't available with other hotels in the same area.
lounge trashed by wedding party, bad language used by wedding party, behaviour of wedding party. left to run riot.
Room service meal was good Too many extras, especially breakfast.
Closeness to city centre Only able to check in 2 minutes before stated time
nothing in particular, it was ok the showers in pool changing room & the fact there were no cubicles to change in
large bedroom air conditioning did not work and no way of opening windows therefore extremely hot! 2 false fire alarms during the night meant we got little sleep
Good location, nicely laid out - spacious bar and restaurant. We were given a disabled room, with a seat in the very small shower that wouldn't fold. Britains Got Talent auditions were being held there in the morning, the hotel should have made me aware of that - I booked six months in advance. Very expensive considering quality and facilities. Poor car parking facilities.
The room was very good apart from the huge crack running through the outer glazing of the picture window! Fantastic views across the city. Very busy because of the Autumn rugby international Wales v New Zealand. Long delay during check out with only two staff on duty one of whom had to answer the phone and take a booking! She then proceeded to chat to a member of staff going off duty. A small niggle but becoming more prevalent among some hotel gropus is that on weekends they don't supply mushrooms with the breakfast menu. Still charge the same price though - £15.95! A con.
Perfect location for city centre.
The large clean bedrooms and friendly staff. The snack food also seemed good value. Car Park was a bit tight
The size of the room was amazingly big and the beds were very comfortable, I would highly recommend staying on the twelve floor as the views are amazing The fire alarm sounded early Sunday morning, not a good wake up!!
It is a very comfortable hotel, located conveniently downtown Cardiff. A room was large and comfortable, nice bed. Hotel has good restaurant; breakfast which was included was delicious. We once also had dinner at the hotel , it also was very good. Staff was polite and helpful.
The reception staff were rude, discourteous and looked like we were intruding by staying there and asking them to rectify an issue with the room (i.e no hot water and no water pressure in the room). After chasing this issue up, we were finally moved to another (lower standard room) at 1.30am in the morning, which clearly didn't add to a relaxing stay at the hotel!!!
it felt like a home from home. Cannot praise enough all staff, from room valets ,waiters/waitress to floor and front of house staff!
friendly helpful staff
location and friendly staff
Very friendly staff. Exceeded our expectations. Good central location. Rooms were of very high standard. Car parking very expensive.
Beautiful hotel with the best staff
High standards but very laid back and relaxing
It was all excellent, from the reception staff to the room to the restaurant staff and food.
The room was superb and situated on a high floor as requested with a view over the gardens. Very welcoming staff and we had a very good dinner in the restaurant. Lovely spacious room and lots of interesting contemporary features. Very central for Cardiff shops etc. The breakfast was not very good as it was the buffet style with little choice. It would be a great advantage if breakfast could be cooked to order.
the excelent service provided by staff the bedroom was cold.
Good staff customer care, a great swimming pool and the restaurant menu was diverse and well priced. No
This is a good hotel with good facilities and excellent staff.
Very average hotel and certainly not value for money Located bewtween two busy pubs, no cooked breakfast served after 09.30hrs, rooms small
I liked the room it was comfy although it took a while to work out how to work the heating so woke up very cold the first morning. The heating confused me and I couldn't find instructions
Air conditioning vent (ceiling) was leaking water on to the floor. This was a highly dangerous situation. A slipon this could have proved very serious. It did mean having to turn it off and open the windows, which of course led to a great deal of noise from outside.
the location, the breakfast and the chap showing guests in for breakfast I didn't like the room it was very dark with the smallest window I have ever seen (which wouldn't open) also didnt like how long it took for reception to deal with a problem that we had with our bathroom after 1/2 an hr of waiting I had to go down to reception myself
Good friendly service
I like this hotel everything was perfect, location, staff, room
Despite the contemporary design the rooms are very comfortable. I had one of the best nights sleep I've had in a hotel room for a long time, which was a pleasant surprise considering I spend a couple of nights a week in hotels on business. The hotel seems to be in the middle of refurburbishment at the moment (November 2010) so access to the hotel is confusing and doesn't initially inspire confidence in the forthcoming stay.
The location was perfect, in the heart of the city, easy access to all places of interest, and only a few minutes walk from the train/bus station.
Nice to pampered and having a short break Going home
Nothing Poor customer service overall
room size was good, staff were very friendly
The staff were so friendly and helpful and the rooms were spacious and very clean.
helpfulness of the staff
Proximity to cia The rooms were cold during this cold weather. could do with an extra blanket on the bed
It was a very short visit, butthe room was lovely and the late check-out time was ideal All good
A very very clean and bright warm and comfort at the top of the list. Could have a bigger public areas.
all the above n/a
The Hotel was clean and welcoming breakfast excellent and healthy, the staff were all very polite, helpful and friendly. Have stayed before and would recommended it no
location, cleanliness, value for money. queue for breakfast and then poor selection due to inability to keep up with demand.
close to the stadium
Location is perfect easy to go to city centre.its just otherside of Cardiff International Arena.I went to music live so easy and safety,I enjoyed very much.Room and Bathroom are really nice and clean, comfortable to stay.I really appreaciate their hospitality and exellent service.thank you so much. not really big issue but,if there is hair drier in bathroom, would be great.
Value for mney clean Asked for wake up call and never received at check in was told you only had my first name and yet I had paperwork with me that you had emailed to me prior to my visit and it clearly stated my full name
Clean & modern, good shower, comfy beds, bar reasonably priced Only 2 small towels in room, breakfast plates were tiny
Good centrally located hotel with modern, clean facilities providing all that was needed as a base from which to attend a Rugby Test at Millenium Stadium. Inadequate staffing. A single worker was expected to run the bar, take orders for the restaurant and be the sole receptionist for arriving guests. Long delays and many people gave up waiting to be served while worker struggled.
location was good. Bathroom smelled very badly of mould and mildew. Unacceptable at the price really.
Central location handy for shops and restaurants. Good location for sporting events and concerts as well Noise from railway
Above average facilities/equipment - couldn't fault bed, bathroom, curtains Poor choice of food at breakfast, not enough tables
Clean, friendly and helpful staff, good food The airco did not work in our room
Easy booking process...Excellent stay in the hotel... Excellent food...the staff went out of their way to help us when we asked about Cardiff...how to get about.. Where to go... Things to see and do...nothing was too much trouble for them...
very covenient for shopping, theatre, rugby.staff were helpful and friendly.room was nice and quite at night. poor selection of bar products.
Central location Air con unit stuated right outside bedroom window to therefore very noisy during the night--also wedding function taking place so was loud music till 1-00am on the sat/sun.
The room charge was low so value for money in that respect The room needed to painted and brightened up as did the bathroom. It had the air of being a bit 'tired'
Central for everything, lovely hotel
We ordered room service, from a choice of 4 main courses we were told 3 were not available, we ordered what was available it was practically inedible and expensive.
The waiter was extremely helpful, he couldn't do enough for us The prices in the bar and restarant, too over priced
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location was perfect for shopping in the city and near bus routes around the city to see the sights. Would definately book again. Parking not bookable and limited but staff made every effort to help. Double glazing in the rooms would cut down traffic noise which is unavoidable in a city location.
The location was superb. Parking onsite at a reasonable cost. Thought that the rooms were a bit dated. The windows were very 'shaky'a and due to the location there was quite a lot of noise at night.
Breakfast being charged at £13.50 a head is an out & out joke, for this reason alone we would never go back, but also to be charged £5 a day car parking as well
Staff were friendly and helpful. The Angel is a great location for visiting Cardiff within walking distance of most things and an inexpensive cab ride from the Bay. The Angel is a happily eccentric building, but becoming a bit shabby at the price. Breakfast was bland in flavour, but efficiently served by friendly waiting staff.
The location was perfect; just over the road from the C.I.A which was great as we could see the gig que develop from our window! The inclusive breakfast was a nice bonus that most budget hotels in Cardiff don't offer. Our room was basic, but clean and freeview t.v was a nice surprise too. The room, although clean, has seen better days & is a bit scruffy with damaged furniture, cracks in the walls and a draughty gap between the window & floor!
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean. Only one lift was in operation at the time.
breakfast noise coming from next room stayed before no problem
fresh clean room good value but still had tea making facilities. Bar and reception staff friendly. hairdryer not available when I needed it. On arrivng at the hotel was initially worried about the standard as the entrance door was shoddy and would not have gone in if not pre booked. However, inside the hotel was excellent and we were pleased to have stayed there.
the bar was shut all evening and did not open we had to go to another hotel for a drink
Location, reasonably priced & good breakfast included
Love this hotel, staff are always helpful and the location is excellent, smack bang in the City Centre.
Location was good. Good selection of choices for breakfast. No hairdryer in room, heater not adequate.
exellent value for money and super breakfast first impressions room looks tatty, but took 3 friends and they were pleasantly surprised with comfort and overall value
very reasonable rate for a city hotel. would have liked a hairdrier in my room, not on a landing.
city centre location easy to find
It was central and close to all the places we wanted to visit and was easily found from the motorway. No biscuits on the tea and coffee tray.
Staff was very friendly helpful Located at the back of the Hotel was the football stadium which was quite noisey in the early morning.
The front desk staff was responsive. The location of the hotel is a plus. The flush wasn't working properly; one has to flush 2-3 times before it worked. There was music from bar downstairs, which I could hear till ~12:00. This affected my sleep on the first night. To be fair, I'dn't complained to staff about these two, but I think, they couldn't have done much about the music-from-the-bar-part. Otherwise, the room was quiet, cosy, and comfortable, although small (have stayed in Cardiff at other hotel with bigger rooms for less price). The per night room price was expensive (but could have been because of the Rugby game on Saturday), that's why poor value for money.
The only thing I liked about the hotel was the locataion The fact that we were woken on Sunday morning by workers erecting scaffolding on the outside of the hotel. The noise from the bar next door to the hotel, even though we were on the second floor we could still here it at midnight.
I like the service, breakfast, free drink (as priority club member), promotions spilled out rather than hidden, fleibility to cancel and rebook my room with pleasure (It was a big problem for Novotail London by Accor group & they charged me 130 pounds for nothing) These people are good and I will go again. They gave us the park view (Best view). Small room (hotel was fully booked so no chance to upgrade) The bed was just enough for one person as booked. I don't mind small rooms when service level and respect are high.
The breakfast was very good and the staff extremely friendly.
The Location, only a minute away from the city centre & right by the Castle & Bute Park. Also every easy to get to.
Location was perfect as we were going to the Milenium Stadium. Easy to find and ideal having parking on site. Close to all the shops and Castle.
Great shopping facilities nearby. Car Parking - Should have discounted parking with local NCP
Helpful, friendly and welcoming staff. Good breakfast - Veggie sausage was delicious! Dispenser in shower not working + shower a little difficult to use. My booking appeared to have come up with 2 adults only. However, I'm sure I booked for children as well.
Staff were excellent and so were the facilities and accommodation Stone cold plates at breakfast. Not very inviting for bacon and eggs.
Staff were excellent, couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Room was comfortable and clean, and was above what I thought we might get. None
Hotel was good, staff were good We only chose this hotel because your website advertised free parking which there was not. We ended up spending more than we could have as we would have chosen another hotel with cheaper parking
The bar did not stay open
I only booked this hotel as it stated parking. As anyone who works there or stays there will know its laughable trying to check in in a car when you dont know where to park. Wasted over an hr of our short visit trying to find out where to park as you need to park up to go to the desk to ask. I did send an email when I booked regarding parking and received no answer
nice location, you can walk to shooping, cinema , resturant, train station , the staff are helpfull. there is one thing new, check in by machine its amazing but i couldnt try it becuse i will pay cash . no internet free !!! and the prices for cards expinsive ( all pritish )
No gluten free food available
Staff were +++ friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for easy walking all around town. Clean and comfortable modern decor. Meals were good; breakfast buffet was open for early and late rises; it included quite broad and fresh selection. Easy 15 minute walk to main bus terminal (no need for cab to/from airport). Free newspaper available in morning in lobby. Small bar area near restaurant (generally quiet/civil- - not a sports bar or raucous neighborhood pub). Quick elevator service & quite halls on upper (room-level) floors. No wake-up call service (and our travel clock was broken); supposedly one could set an alarm via the TV, but neither we nor 2 staff members could figure out how to do this).
The hotel staff are very friendly, especially the night manager - Steve Wade. Easy check in and out system. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is excellent. Hotel is in a good location to go shopping around cardiff.
It was only £24 per person! They forgot to mention when we checked in that breakfast finishes at 9am....
Everybody is polite and friendly facilites were nice, had a kitchen and a bar.
Convenient location and cheap! The mattresses in our room were pretty worn out, to the point of being uncomfortable, it was only tiredness that stopped us from mentioning this to the hostel staff. Even though it was a hostel, the standard of bed was much lower than in most others I have stayed in.
The price is acceptable, and the location is convenient. The booking does not go well. I booked a room for 6 people, but the system seperated us in two mixed rooms. Some guests are not careful.
Within walking distance to city centre.Value for money. The lock on the shower door was broken.
location good for city centre shared bathrooms
It was mentioned as continental breakfast... But the breakfast is just bread, butter & Jam and that to self service which is a bad experience for me.
The atmosphere was quiet and everyone had their own way of amusing themselves. The room was quiet and peaceful, suitable for practicing for 'Britain's Got Talent' next day. Could not gain access to my msn hotmail account and facebook chat box to chat with my friends. Had trouble trying to sleep but that is just a natural reaction to being somewhere new.
