Economy

Not recommended. Europacar refused to give us the car unless we hired an extra insurance. We had our credit car insurance with a broad coverage, damages to others included, but they just said that that was the law and only gave us the keys once we hire the extra insurance. That is a scam, don’t use Kayak nor Europacar.

First, at pickup, I had to pay an additional €35 for full insurance. This was not communicated beforehand when I was reserving the car. In my opinion, this is deceptive, but at the time, I had no other option because it was late, and I needed the car. Additionally, the lady at the counter mentioned that the price for basic insurance and full insurance was the same, which felt like another form of deception. When I reserved the car, I selected a VW Golf or a similar model, but she offered me an Audi A1. What’s the point of choosing a car during the reservation if she can decide which car to give me? The car return process was also poorly explained, and I faced a small issue when returning the vehicle. Moreover, the person inspecting the car claimed there was a damage, which I did not cause. He simply said, 'Don’t worry, you have full insurance.' Yet again, this felt like another attempt to take advantage of the situation. Overall, my experience with this rental company was full of small deceptions."

Customer service at Charleroi airport counter was exceptional. Upgrade, bottle of water, map.... ease of checkin and checkout was also really appreciated. I will reserve again with SIXT.

Drop-off in Amsterdam was excellent, great service. The Associate who did the return checked the car against the photos (See below) and made the return easy and fast. Pick-up was miserable. I was told to sign a document stating the car "is in perfect condition". It was dirty, dented and the front passenger side was difficult to adjust. I was told to just take pictures and send an email, so I did. The Associate at the receiving end was outstanding.

Once I got there, they asked me for an extra 300€(I am not talking about the deposit) because I booked via a 3rd party and they said the quotation was not correct.

Economy

We had to pay an extra 55 euros. The price shown on kayak wasn’t the final price at all and it wasn’t mentionned anywhere. A scam. Last time I book a car with kayak.
