Terrible customer service
Pros: The truck was very clean and ran well.
Cons: I showed up 3 minutes after the 30 minute leway period they give you to hold the reservation (which I knew nothing about until I showed up) and the truck I requested (full size) was already rented out. So I paid the full size truck price for a compact truck. He told me several times how 'lucky you are that I had an extra guy today who could wash and fill up a different truck for you otherwise I'd have nothing for you.'
When I declined the optional insurance I was told by the gentleman who helped me how big of a mistake I was making and how big of a pain processing claims was for him. I explained I'd have the truck for less than 1 hour, I just needed to move some mattresses and in a very sarcastic tone he said 'mmm hmm, sure.' At one point he went back behind the divider for about 5 minutes leaving me at the counter by myself wondering what was happening. I could hear him and another employee snickering about someone (thankfully not about me).
Returning the truck went rather quickly although I inturrupted his lunch and as he was helping me he was still licking something off of his fingers.
His professionalism and mannerisms were terrible. This is the second such experience I have had with Hertz (speaking of the professionalism of their employees) in 2 different states. This is why my typical rule is to only use National or Enterprise. If in a pinch again, I will not be using Hertz, and will certainly pay more somewhere else to be treated with curtosy and respect.
