This hotel is located it a great spot in the Chicago South Loop. It's close to everything. The room was old, but cozy. Very clean.
Let me start with the noise. When I checked in, I was told no parties or loud noises. I guess the guest in the room next to me didn't get that notice. Their music was so loud, I felt the walls pulsing. I called the front desk to complain, but nothing changed until that guest left the room, over an hour later. I feel like the attempt to make them quiet down was feeble at best. The next thing was the leaking pipes. I was on the 10th floor and heard what sounded like rain on a tin roof. When I investigated, I noticed that somebody, on the floor above me, must have been showering and their drainage water was leaking in the walls, hitting the vent above my tub, and leaking into my tub. That was nasty, and so I wasn't able to shower in that tub after. I couldn't call down to the front desk, because this was during the COVID-19 crisis and the staff had left for the day (leaving only security). I took video but there's nowhere to share here. Finally, it's an old building, but for about 2 hours, between 9:30 and 11:30pm, there was a loud banging on the heating pipes. It sounded like somebody was in a nearby room hitting them with a hammer. The next morning, when I was checking out, the front desk clerk was sorry for everything, but less than concerned about it. I feel like the pipes are probably not going to get fixed. I get that this is an old building and the walls are thin, pipes leak and boilers bang. What I would like to see is a staff that's a bit more responsive to addressing those issues.
