Location is convenient. Bed was comfortable. Shower was good. Hotel smells like indian food (curry) all over and back door was left propped open at night. When we returned to our room after it had been cleaned, we had no towels.

What I like best about the hotel was its location. There were a few things that I was not satisfied with from the demeanor and attitude of the staff being very negative the staff made you feel as if they were doing you a favor to answer any questions you have.
The breakfast was good. Plumbing was not working in our bathroom and the staff would not come and fix it. They said we could get a plunger and try working on it ourselves. The internet did not work, the staff was sarcastic. The room was dirty.
Location The breakfast was terrible. Coffee and tea cups might as well be shot glasses. Certain staff members just stood around like helping customers was beneath them.
The breakfast was ok. The hotel did not live up to the star rating (2 1/2). The public areas were dirty. The staff was unable and uninterested in fixing the in room WiFi or flashing phone. Our keys had to be reprogrammed for our 2nd night. Bed was mushy and uncomfortable.
The room was clean and tidy. Comfortable beds. Very limited choices for breakfast.
The price No
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean It had a bad odor especially in the hallway. The remote for the television did not work.
Price Toilet reflushed a little bit every twenty to thirty minutes throughout the night.
the front desk rep. In need of repairs.
I liked the fact that they had me a room The reason they had a room was it cost to much, the door looked like it had been kicked in multiple times. The sink in the vanity was cracked all over the bottom, The tub and shower head were antiques. The room only had a 40 inch TV and the picture would not come in clear. I'm not a motel snob but if I am paying that kind of money I expect a MUCH nicer room. We stay at the Marriot on River Street in Savannah for less money.
The lodge is in a beautiful spot perfect for hiking and minutes from Helen. It is very old.. Needs a lot of renovation. While clean the rooms are very outdated the beds are not that comfortable, the carpets are worn and stained. Bathtub was not that clean. The food in the restaurant was seriously overpriced and not very good. The bar food was a much better deal and delicious. The staff however is exceptional. Good for if you are more into the activities around the are than your accommodations.
TV reception poor. Facilities need to be updated, particularly the baths.
Clean room, breakfast was good, best in town for sure
The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful.
Great location. Here for Oktoberfest. Proximity to all the shopping and German resturaunts was outstanding. Clean rooms and quiet setting off the main road. Very helpful staff. Adequate breakfast with Biscuits and Gravy along with the usual stuff like pastries, ceral, fruit, and waffles. Was very busy so they opened the conference center for breakfast seating. Def would stay again. I was very happy overall except the price. I feel they charge way to much for the hotel. however, because it is Oktoberfest, I know they can do what they want and this is understandable. I also wish they had eggs, bacon, potatos, and the like for breakers too.
Friendliest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel.
Pillow's bring your own
better than home. didn't want to leave. beds and bathroom were enough to spoil me. . weight room to work off that breakfast. this is my favorite motel enclosed pool area had too much chlorine. made my eyes red and I didn't get in the water.
There was hair in the bath tub... Gross... Service didn't come to clean room or bring fresh towels. When brought to the attention of the front desk they didn't seem surprised nor apologized. They did send someone to bring fresh towels.
Friendly staff Great location Decent room Expensive
Easy to find No shower curtain in bathroom, used dental floss pick left on the sink, brown residue stuck to the toilet tank, cellophane wrapping left on all lampshades. Room was very, very noisy (two sides of room had windows that face the parking lot, room door right next to exterior door that slammed loudly anytime a guest passed through, ice machine nearby that was also very noisy when used). The mattress was not comfortable and the springs seeemed worn down in spots. This is the last time I will stay here. Stayed once before sever al months ago because it is the only hotel in the area that allows small pets. On that trip, the first non-smoking room they gave me was saturated with cigarette smoke. They ga e me a second room and after settling in, I saw large cockroaches or palmetto bugs crawling out from behind the mirror. I was then given a third room, which was adequate. This hotel is not inexpensive. They charge $25 per night for a pet and my two night stay cost over $200. Given the issues noted above, this hotel is not a good deal nor has it been a pleasant stay. Netx time I will leave the dog at the kennel and spend a few dollars more for a better hotel experience.
The hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. We got caught in the rain and the Manager helped with using the dryer to get our riding clothes dry.
Located in a great part of the town easy to get too. Would stay there again. Very friendly staff and locals.
Great staff, location, and just like pictures. Love that everything is within walking distance! Bed was uncomfortable...this will not stop us from booking another stay soon!
The location as it relates to shopping and dining is fantastic. We loved the charm of staying in a windmill and the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. For being a suite the room was much smaller than I imagined. Like, tiny. It certainly isn't handicap friendly, though thankfully that wasn't an issue. But hauling ourselves up the hill to the hotel every time we wanted to put something in our room was a bit of a chore.
The worker at the front desk was very polite and helpful The manager was rude and disrespectful. The facility was dingy, dark and unclean. The lobby/breakfast area reeked of smoke. I was afraid to stay here for even one night. Totally disgusted.
The swimming pool and the jakuzi is very good, and the staff is super nice and friendly. Fast check-in. There are bugs in the room.
adjoining rooms wet carpet, paint peeling, lamps didn't work, nonsmoking room smelled of smoke, tv remote didn't work, ac was either hot or cold. front desk was also the maintenance and they didn't know much. went to breakfast and staff didn't advise there was another room with hot food. poor customer service - left on hold way too long
It was really cheap and filled my needs. Wet towel in bathroom floor and the breakfast selection was poor.
Rooms were clean and the evening shuttle service (6pm-midnight) is a big help in taking advantage of what Helen has to offer... Bathroom was small, decor is pretty dated. Wife said breakfast spread was unappealing.
The room was ok for one night but wouldn't stay again. Had the nessecities and we weren't in the room long. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. It says continental breakfast but there were maybe 2 kinds of muffins some coffee and juice and packets of oatmeal. The waffle maker was broken and the dining area was filthy.
Not very clean and very dated
The bed was great. Easy to get the room. Loved the location The morning cleaning crew was a little pushy. The rooms were in decent condition. Not too bad though. Just some loose wall base but nothing outrageous.
The staff was friendly The rooms were small. TV had only a few channels (no ESPN?!) Room had hole in the wall, stopped up with a plastic bag. Showers were dirty. Shampoo was cheap and ineffective. Soap broke upon opening package, didn't clean. Continental breakfast was a disgrace. Charged WAY too much to put such little effort into the room itself. "Smoke free" room smelled like an ash tray. Not "in downtown Helen" as advertised. Bad bad bad.
The beds were very comfortable. Bathroom was way too small and the breakfast choices were not very good, we went to Huddle House instead of eating at the hotel.
Room was large and reasonably clean. Hotel is on the far end of town but great access to back road into town where we discovered plenty of parking. Saw a bug on the food at breakfast, refrigerator not cold enough, milk was spoiled. A/C in room would only kick on for a minute or two at a time. Door to room very difficult to open with card key.
The covers had burn holes from cigarettes on them in several places.
The linen appeared to be clean, but that's about it. The motel name has changed to "Americas Best Value Inn" and there is no indication that it formerly the Days Inn other than the symbols on the room doors. "Shouldn't those have been removed"? The staff was dressed in dingy t-shirts. The front office was dirty. The room was dirty and had the overpowering smell of cat urine in it. We literally went to the store to buy air freshener and candles to help with it. It really didn't help very much. It was terrible. There were no other rooms available per the staff due to this being the last weekend before school started and they were busy. When we went to check out, we waited along with 4 other folks until someone returned to the office. Upon their return they smelled of cigarette smoke. We do NOT recommend this motel to anyone!!!
Tp holder was empty cigarette burns in comforter. Shower curtain torn. Body wash dispenser was empty
Friendly staff, quite Carpet was nasty, paint peeling, holes in walls, Motel can use some serious remodeling. It is an old motel. It's not even a Days Inn any longer. It is America's Best Value Inn now. First room I was given was nothing like what I reserved. Gave me another room and to get what I reserved I had to take a smoking room. Says they have 40" flat screen TV's. They don't. All rooms were empty when I arived and the curtains were open so I looked in all the rooms. There were no rooms that had a 40" flat screen TV. Only place that to had. one was the lobby. Cable reception was terrible, fuzzy white lines on all channels. Free WIFI was a joke. WIFI signal so weak that you can't get on it. Old, run down, smelly motel.
It was close to downtown. It was old, bugs in the room, mold in the shower.
The bed was the only positive of this hotel it was very comfortable. The first thing you notice walking into the room was the wallpaper ripped off the wall, and for some reason over one of the beds was a pieace of tape holding a safety pin. Outdated TV complete with remote that didn't work. The channel guide paper was covered in profanity. The pounding on the door at 11am yelling checkout time wasn't needed either. No WiFi
I liked the price that I got and there was free "breakfast" but it was only bannanas, coffee, and some sausage sandwitches. Free open wifi! Location is good. Staff was great. I was on the bittom floor si I can hear every step from the people upstairs and if they are either drunk or having some sort of party like the people we got to be mares with its very noisy. I was able to hear the conversations of the people next door from the bathroom. The furniture is outdated and there is only a fridge for beers, no microwave, old school small TV.
Free parking Sketchy area at night. Unprofessional staff. Rude staff. Unclean rooms. Bad lighting. Uncomfortable beds and sheets.
The room was horrible. I didn't stay. The sheets were dirty, stained. The door jam had been broken and it was partially repaired. The lock was damaged, the room was clearly broken into. I left immediately.
The staff was very friendly. The breakfast exceeded my expactions. The room was nice and clean. The room smelled nice and clean but was definitely not worth the price they were charging. And the need a sign out front with the name of the hotel. No signage at all. Lots of bumping and creaking and bumping in the room above ours.
I traveled with my daughters and we really love the hotel. I loved that you can just walk to the town. Room was clean, comfy beds, great breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you travel with kids None

The air worked. Had hot water. Extra blanket - but ONLY one. Fridge froze our water. Lots of pillows. Had cable. Served breakfast. Had GREAT cookies at night. Found easy. They allowed me to use my Lysol which I HAD to use due to the bathroom sewer smell. Room faced a drinking establishment and they partied WAY into the night. The cleaning crew didn't replace our empty toilet paper roll and threw the extra blanket onto the chair instead of folding it. Breakfast supplies ran out-plates, spoons, waffle mix.
very roomy way over-priced

Location was wonderful Rooms are old, smelly. Was a used bar of soap on the shelf in the shower as well as a crusty washcloth on the top of the shower curtain, so obviously the cleaning crew did not clean well.
Location was perfect to walk into town and experience a piece of alpine history No
Every staff member we interacted with was extremely helpful and friendly. Great location.
The room was very clean. The tv remote did not work!
No issues with the hotel it was clean the staff was friendly and helpful in every way would recommend staying here for the location and availability to surrounding areas.
Comfortable beds and heater in bathroom No fridge no microwave no ice machine no vending machine
The Hotel sex Hair waiting for us in the tub basin.... Used razor on soap holder and loud house keeping at 7am. No trash can in room or hairdryer. The drawers fell apart and the air-conditioning unit filled only half the gap. Felt like people where being run out of the rooms as fast as possible so the cleaning crew could get to there river jobs. Will not stay here again.
Not very nice at all. Not kept up very well. Old and run down.
-The location is good, and the price is low. -I got used to the smell very quickly. -Our bed had brand new sheets and pillows. -The smell was bad (old cigarette smoke and mold). -This smell was worsened when we turned on the heater and got a room full of that burned dust smell. had to step outside and "air it out." -Room is very dirty, with floor to ceiling stains. Carpet looked especially bad. -Room is a disarray. No batteries in TV remote, alarm clock not plugged in, 30% of light fixtures actually had bulbs, and walls had lots of unpainted drywall patches where someone globbed that stuff on to fix holes. -A corner of the room was just a pile of mismatched furniture. Very depressing. -Thin walls meant I could hear my neighbors television quite loudly. -Hard, unyielding, uncomfortable bed. -Copious amounts of black mold under the sink, with a bonus pair of someone's dirty socks and a fast food cafeteria tray, probably used to catch dripping water. -Bonus: the night I stayed here me and my fiancee had nightmares about our hotel room, like strangers getting in and creatures crawling over us in our bed. Didn't discover the mold until the morning, and I'm wondering if breathing in mold spores gave us a hallucinogenic experience. Mold induced trippy nightmare experience was probably brought on by the overall unsafe feeling I got from staying here. I recommend camping or sleeping in your car before staying at this !@#$hole. Maybe splurge for a franchise hotel, corporate standards would have shut this place down or made an effort to make this place livable.
Everything Nothing was completely satisfied.
Love the town it was in. The bed was very comfortable. The room, although comfortable was in need of some repair and definitely needed a facelift. The air conditioner was noisy, the dresser was in need of repair and the TV was outdate.
