Very nice rooms, spacious. Restaurant was also excellent. Close to airport as well.
the beds were awesome; excellent time
The airport transfer was great, good service and running on time always!
I loved the windows in the rooms. Location looked like it was in an alley
Did not feel overcrowded. Modern, new hotel and very clean. Easy access since it's nestled away from main traffic and pedestrians ... so quiet. Nothing.
Room quality - shower, faucets, tv,towels, robe No mini bar. Inexperienced desk agent
Front desk staff, ALL staff, efficient and personable. Food in Apron, and room service, excellent. Rooms were sumptuous, quiet. Loved the tub and shower. Location was perfect! nothing to dislike.
Well keep, maintained, beautiful rooms, very nice staff dining area needed cleaned, very high price food
the room amenities were very good and it was comfortable stay. the security was very good also and the staff was very friendly. the restaurant was extremely over priced and a turn off. this was the first $9.00 bowl of cereal that I have ever seen. location left some to be desired also.
The A/C should have been better. We don't get that hot of days in the lower mainland and the room was hotter than outside and very stuffy! Had trouble sleeping from the heat.
I was so glad to find a motel within walking distance of the George Derby retirement home so that I could visit my dad. The staff were very kind and upgraded my room to one with a fridge. I truly appreciated that. The breakfast was a nice touch and completely adequate. Sadly the place is quite run down and the hallways are very noisy when people are talking in them. Updating the rooms and hallways would be a good thing.
I like that hotel, but I booked 7rooms. They gave me 6rooms first day. You have be careful
This hotel was quiet,..perfect for the nature of my visit. It was clean. Hotel staff friendly. Good location. Only that the 'continental breakfast' was very minimal, and available between say 6am to 10am but I found one morning after 6am the coffee still hadn't been made and one morning the muffins and fruit hadn't been put out right away
We needed maps to get to several places and staff took time to google maps for us and give directions to start out.
The main reason we stayed there was because it was located a block and a half from my sons home.
air conditioning, beds comfortable, fridge, hair dryer, continental breakfast was good no elevator, breakfast served in the lobby rather than in a separate room
It was great in comparison to what I paid for it. Tissue paper box and moisturizer were not replaced when they were finished, otherwise nothing was bad.
The staff was always friendly and informative.
the carpet was very dirty in the room and also in the hallway aside from that the hotel is very nice
Man behind the counter was very cool and patient with us apon entering our room.
Leaving Vancouver BC size of bathroom, tatered towels, light out in bathroom, had to squeeze through door to enter room.
Pool Sauna not working
Clean property with excellent staff! Rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was clean but it seemed a little old.
Nothing Worst hotel I ever stayed don't waste your money. In the same money you get a very good hotel in downtown Vancouver
Awesome stay this weekend, spacious suite....very, very comfy bed, nice balcony, felt safe & secure with the private underground parking and keys needed for elevator. I could easily stay that for weeks if needed for work. The microwave didn't work and TV's were a bit small but these were not a nuisance...not many negatives about this hotel.
Standard breakfast. Comfortable bed, friendly staff. The air venting was not optimal in the room. Cleaning rooms; they didn't add the bathroom utilities (shampoo, soap) till we explicitly asked for even when the bathroom was running out of them.
I loved the suite which allowed us to store milk for our toddler. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the flat screen TVs. The breakfast was okay. The bathroom was too small for a family of 3. The towels for fitness center and pool were usually empty but it was a holiday weekend.
The hotel is excellent, the room was spacious & wi-fi is a plus. The airport shuttle was the reason I stayed at this hotel, and as the driver pointed out to me it is the only hotel not in the YVR flight path so it was very quiet at night. It is located next to IMAX and Spaghetti Factory. There is no store nearby so the hotel carries alot of snacks and even some frozen dinners as there is a microwave in the room. It was horrible weather, and I would have liked in house movies, but not a necessity.
The house keeping service is terrible. We asked for housekeeping to change my sheet and towel, they gave me attitude. Instead of change new towel, they just folded my towel and put them back.
Staff were friendly. Our room was spacious and clean. The room's air conditoning unit made too much noise.
Very new and nicley furnished and decorated. Great amenities.
Quiet location with fast access to Richmond and Vancouver city center and the international airport. Cinema (IMax) accross the street as well as three dining locations. Air condition used for cooling and heating tends to be noisy.
Staff were friendly and very helpful It was hard to find due to not enough signage and the only sign they had was covered by a large tree
The rooms are very nice and clean We had to be at the airport at 4am so asked for a wake up call for 2:45 as the shuttle leaves at quarter past the hour. The wake up call never came...fortunately I had set the alarm on my iPod for 2:50 so we did not miss the shuttle. They need to be sure that people get their wake up calls!!
The parkade was small and difficult to park in. I had to go find staff as there was no one at the desk when I approached it on 2 different occasions and there were problems with the room key cards.
For a one night stay, everything was as expected.
The hotel and the continental breakfast is very basic but clean and fairly comfortable. I booked for 2 queen beds and all they gave us was a king with a single, we complained but they said that is all they could do as they were full, which I find unacceptable as we booked in advance and our booking was confirmed as 2 queens. one of my boy had to sleep with us.
Friendly and quiet with a nice small park behind the hotel, so ask for a room at the back! Breakfast included and the same with the airport transport.
Is a great hotel near the international airport vancouver , near by is a big shopping mall.
We liked the homely feel about the place and the way the staff were always willing to help. Mainly cosmetic. Some broken fittings that had not recieved attention!!
The bedroom was good value for money. Management most reluctant to give change of room when toilet failed - suggested using washroom in lobby. After much pressure finally gave us another room in spite of previous statement that hotel was full.
fairly conveniant to sky train at Richmond, and very Quiet, and value for money with Continental breakfast a little crowed early morning for breakfast, would not suit ealderly if walking
very bad customer service
Ease of airport shuttle arrangemeent. The young guy at reception was very helpful Breakfast was very basic but enough
Proximity to shopping centre and lots of restaurants within walking distance. I suspect lock to one of my luggages was broken by hotel staff while in custody before time of check-in. It wasn't broken when I handover the luggages. I only found out when I tried to open my luggage in my room.
The restaurant food and service
The rooms were excellent and the beds and bedding very good. the hotel was redone recently so everything is very fresh. the location is great near airport, shopping centers, etc. the restaurant could be open a bit earlier in the morning
There was nothing outstanding that I care to comment on. Very noisy, chlorine odour, not appropriate for business
It was convenient for heading to the airport in the morning. Soap in the washroom wasn't changed from previous guests. There is a chunk of tile broken out of the wall where the shower rod is installed. This would be okay if it even looked as though it was done purpose but clearly it was not. The light in the washroom did not turn on properly, just flickered in such a manner it could cause a seizure in certain guests. Speaking as someone sensitive to smell, the air conditioner filled the room wit such a strong smell it had to be shut off and the patio opened to air it out before even being able to lay down and relax.
Exellent indoor pool. Nice bedroom. Recently decorated. Old hotel but looks like new. Very friendly staff Don't have free breakfast. No options nearby. Just the hotel restaurant
Staff !!!! I was turned away from the restauraunt ten minutes before they closed. Furniture, paint and carpet old and worn, not able to watch a DVD,
We liked the spaciousness of the pool and room. One bed was comfortable and one wasn't. Nice to have a choice. Parking was good. The staff was fun and friendly. I hurt my feet three times (I'm a slow learner), because the tacking strip between the bathroom and the carpet was exposed. I complained to staff and I think they fixed it or maybe I was just more careful eventually.
I waited 5 minutes at the front desk for service. No one was there! Office door was open. No bell to ring. When clerk appeared no smile no apology. No thanks for staying. Wow. No returning from me! The room was dirty. The coverlet had a stain. The baseboards and behind the bed had never been cleaned.. Ever. The lighting was very dim . I never saw a cleaning crew on my floor.
Not much to be excited about Old style. Room decor very used and old especially the carpeting felt dirty. Bathroom old and dirty
It is very conveniently situated for southrn bc, as well as the us border. An easy drive to city of Vancouver, and plentiful free parking. A 1 km drive to White Rock beach, and shopping. The swimming pool is enjoyable - the "spa" extremely limited. It is "average" in every way. The restaurant closes about 9pm, the food is "average", the ambience "average", and is in reality equivalent to about a 3 * motel. However, it is the only realistic choice, other than B&B's, within about a 10 mile circumference. Some decent competition would be good for all.
I gave five stars across because it is exactly perfect for frequent getaways with all amenities on the grounds. I had business in white rock but would utilize Pacific Resort As a great personal getaway. Cost is so affordable. Air conditioning was not working. But window opened.
Courteous staff, location, cleanliness, interesting interior with pool and viewing area, restaurant on site, parking
Room was well equiped. Very noisy hotel. Also poor breakfast..
Room layout and space Poor shower set-up--shower curtain was a nuisance and let water get all over floor, bath ventilation barely effective
Room size. The lazy when we were checking in. She wasn't helpful at all.
Great location! Complimentary breakfast is amazing. The kitchen looks a little outdated but it's such a great space for the price!
The location was good the staff were helpful and polite the room size was ideal for our purpose and any problems were soon resolved. Unfortunately during our stay we were unable to use the pool and exercise facilities advertised when we booked due to construction work being undertaken and this was a big disappointment to us as we were hoping to have a swim and relax after a busy day in the city.We felt that maybe we should have received a reduced rate for our stay as you did not provide a service you had advertised.
I loved the location and the size of the suites. The complimentary breakfast is nice, but contains too many carbs for my liking. They don't offer anything besides pastries and bagels in the morning and no protein.
Very helpful front desk staff, easy central location, good breakfasts
Close to sporting events and concerts, nice place to stay, shopping and eating is close! Skytrain event for adults is great The streets of Vancouver, walk to far before it cleans up, not a kids scene
Location, size of room/apartment, efficiency and assistnce given by staff, flexibility to respond to specific requests.
Bright spacious accommodation, friendly staff Minor stuff - fridge very noisy, & extractor in bathroom started up in night & wouldn't shut down - but this seemed to be a ' one-off '
The suite was fantastic for a family of four. Used the facilities to save money by eating in rather than eating out. Very handy having two bathrooms. The breakfast could have been put out better rather than everything being in packets and cling film. The pool area was out of order due to refurbishment.
The peace and quiet The scramble at the buffet breakfast
Decent airport hotel with efficient shuttle to and from airport. Built alongside the other usual chains. Ten minutes walk from train downtown. Good choice of restaurants closeby. No WiFi in rooms and pay for internet access.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Even though it was a non-smoking room, we could smell cigarette smoke the moment we entered. Also, the door trim around the door frame was split as if kicked in from the outside hall. We called and reported this immediately and were given a different room that was better, but still only satisfactory. We should not have been given a substandard room just because we booked through a third party site, such as Kayak.
access from airport and the shuttle service as listed above the cost to access the internet connection
The room was quiet and well-presented. I liked the fact that there was a fridge in the room but it was ratehr noisy at times. The room rate quoted by booking.com stated that breakfast was included, but when I asked the hotel staff to confirm this, they told me it was an error. They were good enough to give me a reaonable refund to compensate and said they would investigate why this had happened.
Smoking not allowed wrong info on web site
service location restaurant price windows don't open refrigerator worked poorly
Not great. Only restaurant still open when we arrived was the bar. No free coffee available in the morning. Wanted to charge me $4.00 for a to go cup of black coffee. No way.
the location was close to some exciting restaurants and the canada line which allows you to move quickly to downtown did not like this strange looking building, the feeling that a couple of surrounding buildings were bought out and patch together was not my idea of this place
Overnight transit stop for flight
cozy, clean, a simple kichen w/sink & microwave, nice location & reasonable price. no scale available in the bathroom...
Was impressed with the shuttle service which included drivers that were friendly and helpful. For my one night stay everything went exceptionally well. wished there was free internet access, if only for a limited time
The hotel was relatively close to the airport and the room was very spacious. The wifi was nearly unusable.
The style and decor of the hotel.
The room was clean, comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The room was quite small.
Comfortable charming accommodations. The hotel is undergoing renovations. There were no interruptions in service--but the noise! If it weren't for the charm of the place and the staff, I would have found another place to stay.
We enjoyed the heritage of the building. Loved the fresh lilies at the front desk. The bedding was luxurious. Didn't enjoy the front desk staff not greeting us when we walked through the lobby. Even if we aren't checking in or out a smile and hello is still appreciated.
The hotel is quite the little historic gem, clean new bathrooms, and king sized beds. The room had a musty smell, if thats an issue be aware.
Very cozy overall. Nice clean room and spacious bathroom The hotel staff could be a little nicer
great room, beautiful reno, good sheets, clean and lovely bathroom
Great location, just a block and a half from Hastings St., near restaurants and shops. Breakfast room was great to be in, listening to all the languages and accents. Hotel exudes old-world charm, and my room was very quiet. The lack of a writing desk was a problem, but I was able to use the nice desk in the communal hall on my floor. Most rooms share the bathroom, and the shower, among several rooms on that floor, but this was never a problem for me (staying almost a whole week). There was also no air-conditioning, but this was also never a problem, with the cool Vancouver weather (never above 70F during a week in July!) and a window that can stay open all day.
The staff was very accomodating and polite. The absence of an elevator. Although, I know that the hotel is patterned after the Victorian era but, it will be best for the occupants to have the benefit of such facility especially if one has heavy luggages.
Room was charming Clean bathroom Comfortable bed Boutique exposed brick Location Great value for traveling young couple not concerned with tons of ammenities Room size is intimate
I liked how clean and comfortable and stylish the Victorian is, considering the affordable cost. Loved that there were computers for guests' use. And the staff were all extremely nice. I didn't like having to squeeze past the bed to get to the other side of the room. And I thought that the dining room could be a little nicer.
the bed and linens were great the windows wer not clean
private balcony with chairs overlooking a popular park The parking instructions were unclear but easy once explained.
Front desk staff was eager to correct a room imperfection careful on how much desantizer, cleaner is used in the rooms. Without proper ventilation, can be quite overwhelming.
location The breakfast this time compared in the past is not good. No boiled eggs served.
location, value female receptionist was a bit rude, you can hear sounds from next room,
Hotel is conveniently located in the vicinity of the airport and restaurants. Room was comfortable and clean, check-in and check-out was done in an efficient manner. The only drawback was that I needed a shuttle to the airport at 5:30am, and your shuttles do not start till 6:00am.
Location, location, location especially when you are jetlag from Tasmania. The five minute walk to Richmond Centre and the more than courteous staff made it for us. The only negative was the condition of the rug.Need replacing or at least a very good washing.Room 318.
Staff was very nice. Free breakfast was a plus as was the airport shuttle Carpet needs a cleaning.
Very good location. Near park, shopping center, air port. Odd smell in the elavator. I assume it has to do with the garbage disposal tube.
Really enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff. front desk and breakfast room. Bathroom light and the fan made noises when light went on.
The bed was really comfortable loland the size of the room was nice
Convenience to airport Far away from downtown Completely Asian area that are not open to others
Every person in the hotel was great. We booked a day tour of the city and after waiting a long time, they arranged a private SUV with a wonderful guide to take us (6). When we got back to the room, a tray of fresh fruits and bottle juices were waiting for us along with a note saying they were sorry for our long wait for the tour bus. It was not the hotel's fault. not a thing
shuttle service to airport. It was only an overnight stay
easy come & close to airport.
Staff were helpful, hotel close to air port and had a shuttle.
Easy access to tons of restaurants and stores. Near the airport. I stayed at 5th floor where wifi was weak. It is not only slow, but is very annoying that my browser on the phone refreshes every a few seconds after connecting to their wifi. In addition, I have to login every a few hours to keep connected.
Dining facilities were very good & well priced. The shuttle service to Vancover airport was excellent. Thank you.
Convenient location to Vancouver A/P and easy access to downtown Vancouver. It was Canada day and there were no food services available. However, we found a good restaurant at the adjacent mall.
Peaceful location and efficient staff. Absence of a dining area and bar
Location and amenities in the vincinity of the hotel. No Safe in the room.
The hotel was close to the airport and had a free shuttle. Check in was fast and they even had a razor so I could shave before my flight the next day. The room was dingy with lots of marks on the walls. The TV remote barely worked. The shower curtain rod was held up by two deadly looking pieces of bare metal that were barely affixed to the wall. For nearly the same price, I got another hotel near the airport on my return that was 10 times the hotel- clean with no ghetto repairs anywhere, was clean and well maintained which La Quinta was definitely not, had a view over water, and a free shuttle to/from the airport as well.
I felt very relaxed and "at home" at this hotel. It is very important to me to feel comfortable where I am staying. The pool was very small and very open for passersby to look in since it was on the way to the elevator and it was beside the lobby.
Clean & quiet The parking lot is not well lit at night.
Price and location to airport No airport shuttle service before 6:00 am
Cleanliness Location and far from airport.
The hotel and its staff were very efficient and its cleaniness was great! Nothing!
clean for the price of 75.00 beds were horrible, mattresses need to be look at
Light airy room. Comfortable bed although a little on the small side. The hotel-rooms-pool and public areas absolutely spotless.
Close to the airport, quiet rooms, clean bathroom Poor breakfast
the size of the room the "swimming pool" is a misnomer.....it is more like a soaking tub...it is far too small to swim in...one stroke and you are at the other end and the work out facilities are poor at best
services and the cleanliness limited parking
Not too much. The best thing about the hotels are reviews of the hotel. I was expecting some very clean modern hotel but no it was old and not very clean I booked the hotel for at least getting a shuttle ride to the airport. While yes they do have a shuttle, it only runs after 6 am which doesnt work for getting a ride to a 6 am flight. I also was booking it in Canada and believed that I was booking in Canadian Dollars but it was actually USD. It was super overpriced, I had old lipstick in my bathroom from the person before and overall was not satisfied at all.
Considering the price, this motel was incredible. They were able to locate a room on my preferred floor, even though they seemed to be quite full. The room itself was nicely appointed - more like an upper level facility than the mid-rate chains. Lots of little touches to help out tourists. Staff always friendly, helpful and positive. Everything needed was easily available. Gotta love the ducks. Shuttle didn't seem to run on time, but the drivers made efforts to get back up drivers and vans involved as needed.
Rooms seem a little dated and smell odd and probably need fresh paint and carpets to freshen up the place
Location, access to airport van, use of bikes for the day. Room clean, beds comfortable, staff helpful and friendly. The air conditioner was noisy
Problem: After lying down on bed for 10 min, a 15mm ant has crawled on my body. My girlfriend freaked out and we immediately checkout of the hotel. Overall Impression: The hotel is more like a motel with outside entrance and dated renovations. The sink didn't drain well.
Free shuttle to airport, close to restaurants and prise.
Elevator is always a plus at a hotel, rooms were easy to get to. We had no noise from outside or room to room. Loved the pillows, wish I could have slept longer, just to comfy! Parking was packed so was tough to find the one space left. No restaurant on site means you have to go find one, which is limited in choices in that area. Dennys worked out fine from where we were. Could have also hit Fogg and Suds bar which also offers food. Love the fact that if you forget toiletries, they have available. Haven't had to ask, but nice to know.
Loud children running at 10pm and nobody did anything about them
There's a rubber duckie in the room, which is cute. The beds are nice and the grounds are well kept. The signs are cute and kind of funny. The first night, the key didn't work. After 11am the next day, the key didn't work... so I finally said I wanted a key that worked out ENTIRE stay. When I checked out, the staff was a bit dismissive. The place in some ways is a traditional hotel, in other ways is trying to be kind of a fun hipster place.
The funny little sayings and admonishments here and there. Upgraded to a kitchenette.....so what not to like. Recent reno is perfect. Polite and helpful staff at hotel. Our favourite place to stay. The rubber ducky in the bathroom. Very clean and excellent bed. The shuttle driver at the airport could have helped us with our luggage. We had to take it with us into the cab. I guess my wife with a cane didn't impress him enough to move.
It was clean, super comfy, good coffee maker in the room, green (encourage conservation techniques), and good TV channels. I would stay there again.
Overall the hotel was clean, especially for the price we were paying for just one night. Didn't spend much time at the hotel, but the front desk was helpful in providing information on getting around to the Vancouver area. There were a few times the toilet in the bathroom kept running so we played plumber. No other complaints!
The shuttle service worked well and it's a short ride to the hotel. The room is nicer than most budget stays and has everything that one would expect for a good night's rest. We walked to the nearby Denny's for an easy dinner after a long day of travel.
Free access to adjoining Steve Nash fitness center Wifi connection was poor and slow
Staff was courteous. The place is clean and tidy. There are restaurants on site and nearby although it's a bit lack of selection. The waterslide was a nice surprise. Door key does not work every day. There is one day that I had it changed three times, one time was back to back, up and down twice. I told them if it did not work the last time, they would have to come up to my room since I was having arthritis flare-up. Walking up and down two times at the end of the day with my flare-up was not fun. They kept telling me it was my phone then my credit cards although they were kept separately, one in my coat pocket and the other in purse. In addition, it still did not explain the back to back two times in a roll. It is just ignoring.
Nice rooms. First night had no AC but hotel made it right and gave me a meal voucher for my trouble. Restaurant was average at best and over priced. Denny's on property was good. 1.5 mile walk to public transportation.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Hotel is modern, well-featured and well-located. Yellow stains on sheets. In-room heater very, very noisy and thus unusable. When staff were notified of these items at checkout, they took note of them but made no effort to offer compensation.
The beds are extremely comfortable There is a different Sandman hotel on the same street as the "Signature Sandman hotel." It is extremely confusing. Also, you need a room key to use the elevator, even to get down to the lobby!
Air conditioner did not work and was blowing warm air into the unit. Very hot evening no sleep. So sad.
Broken air conditioner, dirty pools and TV remotes missing. Everything is a little worn out. Wifi is useless.
Room was very comfortable, and also enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pool facilities. Great location for wanting to be near Richmond and also Vancouver. AC in the room was broken.
