The room temperature was 78-79 degrees the entire time. I called twice about it and spoke to someone about it in person. They gave us a box fan. The staff never checked the thermostat. I overheard several other guests complaining about the same issue.
Booked a room with 1 bed and a pull out couch bed, there were no sheets for the pull-out bed, so we asked the front desk for some. They gave us some sheets that did not fit the bed and did not give us a comforter. After asking for a comforter we only received the stuffing portion of the comforter. Sheets/comforter on bed were torn and looked pretty beaten up/overused. We were forced to move rooms due to a water issue. The new room only had one bed when the one we paid for had two. The new room's thermostat was broken and the room was extremely hot. We were not offered a discount for the inconvinence of the room change or the fact that our new room only had 1 bed when we paid for 2... Business area printer did not work. Only 2 out of the 4 entrances to the main floor/lobby work. Valet parking is almost $50 a night. Go with a SpotHero spot on the app for a cheaper rate. I found a place 2 blocks away for $80 for all 4 nights we were there vs. the $200 they would have charged. If you can find a different hotel close by, go for that one, even if it is more expensive this place really isn't worth the headache.
Poorly sound insulated to the outside. Could hear the valet car service honk the horn as they exited the garage at odd times day and night (even on the 9th floor). Had hot water issues in the shower multiple mornings, changed rooms, and had climate control issues in the second room. Staff was friendly, to a point, but with poor sleep from the valet honking and waking up to a cold shower several mornings, this was not my favorite hotel experience. On the bright side, location about a 8-10 minute walk to the Colorado convention center was nice, breakfast was IHG standard but respectable, and the elevators were fast.
Cons: Hot water is finicky into the evening. Had to run the shower, sink, and flush the toilet at the same time.. with several attempts in order to regain the hot water. Maintenance crew member had to show me this trick. Toilet is not aligned well with the sink vanity. I was not able to flip the toilet seat cover/seat all the way up as it would hit the sink vanity and fall back down. Pros: The breakfast buffet is good value. Better than what I expected. I had S.O.S. and it was good! Building is pretty quiet despite being in Downtown. I’m a light sleeper and I slept well throughout the 3 nights that I stayed.
Tv did not work even after replacing the remote. Air conditioning didn’t cool below 67. Bathroom sink didn’t drain properly. Half the outlets in the room were non-functional. staff was kinda rude too but not too bad. I’d spend more and get a better hotel next time in Denver. My experience with Hilton chain brands has always been good.
