When reserving the car, it was not abundantly clear that the rental car company was not at the airport, but offsite and accessed by a shuttle. Likewise, it wasn't mentioned in the confirmation paperwork. The confusion and wait time added an hour to my 'go' time. When I went to return the car, my dropoff time was before they opened for the day and I was forced to call a taxi to get me from the rental car return to the airport, since their shuttle wasn't running yet. Pros:This was the easiest rental car experience of my life. Great service from "Jason". I phoned from the airport and he picked me up in a snowstorm. Had the car running to keep it warm for me. The entire process was seamless; drop off was excellent as well. Thank you!Cons:The location of the rental place was about 8 minutes from the airport. In a perfect world, it would be AT the airport, but given how small Missoula is, and how quickly the shuttle process worked, it was a pretty minimal issue.Reviewed Oct 8 2019

Rentals Cannot Leave the StatePros:Friendly people. Once you dive into the rental agreement, everything is there.Cons:My issue is more with Kayak than it is with Dollar. Kayak Suggested Dollar using my criteria. I wanted unlimited miles, that wasnt on the agreement when I got to the counter. I wanted a rental that can leave the state....not here at this Dollar you cant. By the time I showed up at the counter, we had lost any benefit of early reservation (during a holiday weekend) and 5-10% price reduction of the competitors due to advance payment. We were forced to find another alternative with kids in tow, calling rental companies an hour before some of them close. Most rentals in Missoula charge airport fees even if they are not near the airport. There are only one or two that do not. Pretty frustrating.Reviewed Nov 27 2018
