Pros: We spent two wonderful nights here, Doris and Andreas were both so kind and hospitable. We loved the breakfast in the morning, and also the tour we received of the wine cellar. We made great use of the bikes, to explore the nearby towns of Wösendorf, Spitz, and Weißenkirchen and check out the local heurigers. The location was also perfect for starting our hike to Spitz. Everything was very clean and comfortable - this stay felt like a relaxing retreat! We would recommend the Weinbau Weidenauer to all travelers, it will exceed your expectations.

Pros: Everything was O.K. Very good breakfast. Fantastic atmosphere and pleasant environment. Very friendly owners, lots of nice details of the accommodation (e.g. a place for breakfast outside the house in hot days, coffee machine in the corridor, magnifying mirror in the bathroom). The owners have a vineyard, so as in similar accommodation in Wachau, there is also a fridge with wine for sale.

Pros: Very nice staff. We've been there with our 10 months baby, and the girl from the kitchen cooked omlette without oil for him and she advised very well what is ok for him(no salt or sugar). Very good, healthy and fresh breakfast. The room is very nice. It is a romantic space, since they have glass between shower and bedroom, but it is nice also for a kid to discover it :). The view is very nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The standard room was spacious, modern and well furnished - we felt very comfortable. Congrats to the staff - super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a blast!
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully designed hotel on a beautiful vineyard. Rooms had all the comforts and more. Amazing common spaces and great breakfast as well. Not sure if all rooms are the same, but our room was clearly geared towards a single person or a couple (glass bathroom walls, etc), which we loved. But if you’re not a couple, just something to keep in mind.

Pros: Very clean room, beautiful landscape around the guest house, very friendly hosts.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was really nice to us and the breakfast was excellent!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The guesthouse is a little gem situated between Melk and Krems in a quaint and quiet village. The house is newer, just ten years old, with modern features. Our room was decent sized, basic and very clean with a view overlooking the vineyards and pretty countryside. Our bathroom was so immaculately clean that we assumed it was brand new. The shower was strong and hot but bring your own soap and shampoos. Breakfast was a nice continental spread, beautifully presented, offering bread, cheeses, meats, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice, and egg along with homemade apricot and grape jams. Do not worry at all about the train tracks behind the house. You likely will not see a single train and you will not hear any. We found the tracks to be quite quaint and photo worthy, complementing the picturesque countryside. The hosts and their family live in the house so are available to assist in any way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. While we stayed, the other guests were all respectful of others but you could hear voices through the walls as well as general goings on of family life. It was very quiet for sleeping. We had a nice stay here and would be happy to return.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean room. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Cons: At least a small fridge in the room, would be great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet hotel with very friendly and hospitable owners. It is located on the outskirts of Wossendorf - our room windows were looking out onto the railway, and immediately behind it was the vineyards. This is a great starting point for walking. The train goes only in a the day and very rarely, we heard it only once during the breakfast, the rest of the time we went out. I liked the figures from the towels in the room, from fruits and napkins - at breakfast - it really makes you feel better in a moment. Nice little thing - a bottle of water in the room. The bed is wide and very comfortable, the bathroom and shower cabin are spacious, there is a hairdryer in the bathroom. We speak German badly, but there were no problems with communication in English. Breakfast is served in advance - plates, glasses and others are already on the tables when you go into the dinning room. It was a bit unusual for us. There was no feeling that we were at the hotel, rather, at our friends' home. We plan to come there more than once.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location with views of wineries, right off the Danube Bike Path. The owners were amazing super hosts that made is feel at home and made sure our stay was exceptional.
Cons: Wifi was spotty.

6.7 Good
Pros: Attractive room. Sparkling clean, modern bathroom Very good WiFi Outstanding breakfast in room with beautiful view.
Cons: Hard to find on very narrow road, not well signed. No parking nearby. Hot room with considerable street noise. Fan would have been welcome. No one present outside of breakfast hours. Did not have a personal feeling.
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, with more choices than anywhere else we stayed- superb! The rooms were laid out in a kind of crazy fashion, but that was OK- it made the place that more interesting.
Cons: It, was a steep walk up the hill, carrying our bags, but that was our choice to travel without a car. I don't know how booking.com computes the overall score, but I'd rate it t least an 8.8.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in one of the apartments. The owner Josi was very helpful and she helped us by giving us travel advice from Vienna before we got there. The apartment was clean and spacious. We had breakfast in the main guest house, which was lovely. The views from the breakfast room in the main guest house are stunning.
Cons: The only small isuue we had was we cooked in the apartment and then washed up but there was no draining board but there was a dishwasher so that may explain why.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous traditionally styled Gästehaus with wonderful views over the Wachau. Josi the hostess was lovely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was hot in Austria during my vacation: hot in Vienna, and I think possibly hotter in Weissenkirchen. How amazing to check into the lovely Gaestehaus Turm and find a fan blowing a cool breeze in my room. Not only that, but there was a chilled bottle of sodawater waiting in the fridge. The room was quite large, immaculately clean and comfortably furnished. The window on the front had a view to the Danube. Velux windows on either side provided excellent cross-ventilation. The building itself dates from 980 AD; the renovation was done with care to preserve the authenticity. The owner was very kind, coming to rescue me after I could not quite find the place to park (and driving in the narrow roads was stressful for me). Breakfast was terrific--even a self-service coffee machine with latte macchiato, espresso, etc at the touch of a button. At the time of checkout, I sampled a couple of delicious wines and bought a few bottles to bring home: a good way to preserve memories of the Wachau.
Cons: The bed was incredibly comfortable, but the pillow was "too soft" for me. Pillow preferences are a very personal choice, however, so this one might have been "just right" for somebody else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This gasthouse is in the heart of old Weissenkirchen but has been updated to accomodate today’s expectations. Breakfast is excellent, rooms are nice sized and beautifully furnished in a country style. The balcony patios are a great place for enjoying the wonderful scenery of the area. We also enjoyed several light suppers at the heuriger.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Anna‘s guest house is just located by the Donau River, where you can sit in the nice and comfy chairs either in the garden just by the river, or on the balcony outside the room to look over the river. The scenary is breathtaking. You may enjoy the sunrise and sunset with peace of mind. Anna and her husband and sons are all very kind and attentive. Provides all information you may need to travel around. The historical Kremstien with medieval time archie style houses all over the town, the catsle ruins on the top of the mountain look over the Donau river, where has the best view of the best in Wachau, and the lake area town on our way to Saltzberg. All of their advices have been the highlights of our trip this time. My parents really enjoyed this part very much. Breakfast in Anna's place was very abundant and well prepared. With a very well decorated and equipped breakfast room, there are many choices of bread, cheese (Cottage, Camebert/Brie, and other two varieties), famous apricot jam and fig jam, meats and freshly picked veges, yorgout and cereals, etc. Eggs are boiled exactly to the right tender and runniness. The host couple are wine lovers, and they are experts to share information of wine, winery, wine tour, etc. The guest house was very clean and except for a little inconvient of carrying big luggages to the upstairs without a lift, everything else was just so great! Will recommend Anna's guest house to friends for sure!
Cons: If there is a lift, just for the luggage, that will be perfect.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Wery tasty breakfest. Nice people. Lovely country with peach trees and vineyards.

Cons: The place is a little far and inconvenient. However, there are still few buses could get. Just need to wait for some time. It's worth to take the time getting there.

Pros: I liked everything about the Donauhof - Hotel Garni. Marlies and her mother were so friendly and helpful, giving their hotel a warm and family feel. Nothing was too much trouble - even when we were asking Marlies questions over the busy breakfast period. The rooms were bright, airy, beautifully furnished and decorated. The bathrooms were very modern and of a high quality and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were delicious and so varied - every taste was catered for and the dining room was bright and tastefully furnished. The hotel is right next to the Danube - it is in a very convenient and beautiful spot. There is also parking which was very handy. I cannot fault anything and highly recommend it to anyone.

Pros: Charming hotel right in downtown Weissenkirchen with excellent breakfast. Our guest room was very welcoming with attractive modern bathroom.
Cons: Pool for personal use only. Lack of a staffed reception area. Room was too hot even with fan.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, friendly staff, bike hire options on site, large room, reasonable location in nice little town, supermarket about 5-10min stroll, beautiful little property, pool was nice to cool off during summer heat.
Cons: Property owners and their 2 young children spent a lot of time in and around the pool, which was small and only had 3-4 deck chairs, to the detriment of the guests, which I thought was slightly unprofessional. Otherwise nothing specific in terms of negatives, but I think the review score above reflects our overall thoughts on this accomodation.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: An excellent guest house in a lovely location. Spatious and comfortable rooms, tastefully done, nice breakfast, friendly and helpful owner and staff. Inviting outdoor seating, small pool, bicycle rentals. Great eateries in town and the wine made by the owners is delicious. Highly recommended.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was very large, modern, bright, private, comfortable and unique. Lovely village setting. Beautiful scenery.
Cons: Nothing was translated into English which was a problem because I was traveling alone and do not speak German. Consequently the owner and I did not really chat. No causal pleasantries The restaurant she gestured to also no English on the menu so I just asked the waitress to pick me something nice.It was a lonely stay for a single non speaking German traveler. Would I return . Yes but with a friend and with the Hope's that that guess house information book at least have an English version because I could tell it was full of great information that would have enhanced my stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: First of all, Durnstein is really perfect place. The hotel was very nice and cozy. We had extremelly exciting time here. Very beatiful sites nearby, and just 6 minutes walking for cozy silver beach washed by Donabe's waters)) And don't forget to taste local wine here. Maybe it was little bit like homemade, but so delicious, so good! Well I recommend to everyone - just try)) Thanks a lot for this accomodation, hope to come back sometimes.
Cons: The only thing that was little bit uncomfortable - not very "english speaking" staff. I'm totally understading that we were visiting Austria and we will try to learn Deutsch better for our next traveling)) but it would be great if we have a possibility to communicate in english too - to solve copmlicate questions and problems easier :) But all of you were very nice and polite and were trying to do the best, so thank you anyway!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owners, beautiful place, good wine and very good breakfast.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: we traveled by bicycle to and from the hotel. i would not recommend this to travellers. The hotel is about 30 minute bike ride uphill from Krems. Krems is difficult to navigate through for bikers on the Donau Radweg. The road is a high traffic, high speed. Once there, you have no option but to eat dinner at the hotel, which was average. The setting is pretty, the landscaping around the verandah is well done and the room was very quiet even though on the busy road due to double windows. However, we could hear conversation from the restaurant in our room till 11 pm at night.
Cons: Noise from restaurant below our room; not good access for cyclists from Krems; my husband's fish dinner was excellent; my rouladen dinner was dry and spaetzle noodles were cold; there was no offer for wine tasting and little to no explanation from any servers about the property's wines for us as guests. You either had to already know about the wines being offered, or be a German regular guest ready to buy wine. As a tourist, it was not a wine-tasting or wine-learning experience friendly destination.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It wasexactly what I was expecting and more.Gorgeous 12th Century building, fully renovated but still kept the old feel. Gorgeous surroundings.Words cannot describe it's beaty.

7.5 Good
Pros: Location. Breakfast was ok
Cons: We waited in front of the gate for 10 min. It was not clear what to do, door was locked, we needed to ring twice and wait till somebody showed up. Owner was not welcoming, asked why we ringed the bell. Nothing i would have expected from a 4 stars hotel. They give you a key and you should unlock/lock all the doors, when you go out. We booked a suit with a view but it was looking at a street and it was noisy so don’t spend extra money on suit.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old house with charm, great location and good choice of breakfast.
Cons: Unfortunatelly there is no air conditioning in the house, so during the hot summer days we had two unbearably hot nights. One side of the building faces a street as well with some noise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We could stay until lunch lime - late check out! That was very much appreciated!! Thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this hotel located in the small village of Spitz. The staff (Elizabeth was our staff) were friendly and very helpful. The patio overlooking the vineyard and orchard was so relaxing. We enjoyed having their exceptional breakfast on this patio. There was wine and lively glasses to enjoy it in self serve. We did not want to leave. Easy to ride a bike one day to Melk and another day to Durnstein.
Cons: There was nothing that we did not love.
7.5 Good
Cons: It is a pet friendy hotel. Which would not be a problem, if the room would be properly vacuumed. But we found a dog fur on the sofa (clumps of dog hair) and on the carpet, after we found it on hands of our baby.

Pros: Everything was super! Especially location and breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Unfortunately we did not know the vast discrepancy between a deluxe and a superior room. Our superior room was almost uninhabitable for two people. Very small, no storage, dismal outlook, impossible bathroom! We were unable to change rooms due to the full capacity and we did not get to see the deluxe rooms, but I assume they must be better! I booked 7 months in advance just to get a great hotel in Vienna... On the brighter side, the staff, restaurant and service was first rate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Traditional castle with luxury. This is a special property. I highly recommend. The wine tasting in the original cellar was a great experience. Dinner was wonderful. Staff very attentive and friendly. Great location. Free bikes to drive to local wineries.
