As soon as we opened the door we fell in love with what we saw. Loved being able to walk to the strip. The receptionist was the best.
Our stay at the Laurel Inn in Gatlinburg was great. We did have one problem that was resolved much to our satisfaction. Things can go wrong anywhere, but how the situation is handled and resoved are the important issues. We arrived after the office closed to find out that our room was not ready. After calling the aferhours number, the manager, came back to work herself & gave us a much nicer and larger condo for our entire stay for no additional cost. She resolved our problem quickly and showed us southern hospitality at the same time. We would enjoy staying there again..
We were surprised to find such a comfortable condo so close to all the activities of downtown Gatlinburg and yet so secluded. The 1 bedroom condo was perfect for four people and everything we needed was furnished. We found the beds to be comfortable and the unit was very clean. We enjoyed the outdoor heated pool and thought is was well kept as well as the surrounding area. The view of downtown Gatlinburg was great from our spacious balcony but we were nestled in the foothills of Gatlinburg and it only took us ten minutes to walk downtown. I found the front desk to be very helpful with direction as well as activities in the area. It was a bonus to participate at the Elkmont area of the park where the Fireflies synchronize their flashing light patterns. I will look forward to returning to the Laurel Inn and it was a great value!
If you like hard beds, musky smells, no indoor pool( however it said there was an indoor pool. The management was nice and offered to put us in another room, but no thank you. This place has no view and the sheets on the bed were from the 60's Do not stay here. I did not sleep a wink. Then I was not ABLE TO GET A FULL REFUND FROM the travel agency.
This property is tucked away on a ridge overlooking downtown Gatlinburg and my wife and I had no idea it even existed. What a find this was for us! We had a one bedroom condo with a gas fireplace and Jacuzzi and the room had a balcony as well. At night, you could see the whole downtown area lit up and it was absolutely stunning. Our condo had a nice little kitchenette with a full size fridge and microwave along with a range top for cooking. All of our pots and pans were included with the unit, as well as all of our linens, which was great. The front desk staff provided us with extra towels and such as we needed them. The walkway in the back of the property allowed us to stroll downtown without having to listen to all the noise of downtown at night in the room
This is the worst place I have ever stayed. Carpets were filthy and the room smelled musty. There was virtually no view. Kitchen was no better than a regular hotel room. Claims to be two blocks from downtown Gattlinburg -- was actually about a half mile walk -- which is a real problem since parking is very expensive in downtown Gattlinburg. Online Travel Website needs to take this place off their list of hotels.
We stayed in room 601. The room was nice and neat and everything was fine until we tried to sleep. The AC unit was so loud it kept everyone up and the master bathroom tub made such a loud noise with you used the shower. Make sure you bring food with you. There are no snack machines, only pop machines. Staff was friendly and we were pretty much the only people staying at that time.
This place REALLY needs some upgrades. The bed was like a rock and the paint was peeling. We had an ant problem also. The management was very nice, but it wasn't enough to make me ever return.
We were very happy with our choice of the Laurel Inn. We got a 1 bedroom condo with gas fireplace and balcony that had a nice view of gatlinburg. And we were only a healthy two block walk from the middle of the Gatlinberg drag and all the restaurants and activities. X, who worked the desk was great and very helpful. We had the linens and kitchen tools we needed to be comfortable for our 6 day stay. I highly recommend this place over a regular hotel room. We were not disappointed at all and don't hesitate to recommend this Inn.
It was a very nice spot the Staff was friendly and helpful the rooms were very nice and truely smoke free
Really, everything was great about the trip! Customer service was excellent; not once did either of us have to complain about the CS, so we were able to fully enjoy ourselves. Though the jacuzzi seemed to be the highlight of our condo(and it was), the hot-water ran just enough to fill the tub halfway full-blast. However, the tucked-away location, uncompromised customer service, and the size and the commodities of the room for the price outruns a minor water inconvenience. We would definitely go back again and stay in the same place.
We had a good time staying here, because of all of the local avtivities available. The place just needs some cosmetic work. The condo was small and outdated. It didn't bother us, but it might bother pickier travelers.
