Staff could be more friendly and helpful. Also wash cloths and more soap in the rooms would be nice.
The central location in Glasgow. The two single rooms we booked were very small with no air conditioning. The one upholstered chair was thread-bare. With the window open for fresh air the traffic noise was unbearable. The hotel has a very rigid no refund policy so be very careful when paying up front. We would not stay at the Grand Central again nor would we recommend it to our friends.
Parking available No paper after request/hotel badly finished/no thought put into layout eg large bathroom -towels and rail at opposite end from bath and basin
Great hotel after refurb None
The sevice in general was poor and too slow and will need to sharpen up considrabley.
Very central location and comfortable room Tricky to find the retaurant serving breakfast
Excellent breakfasts, overall atmosphere of hotel, immaculately clean rooms, very comfortable bed, general facilities in room and hotel, location which is next to station. None
The location and hotel are amazing. This hotel is right next to the train station and a very loud night club. It is very loud.
classic building and location - lots of history and interesting architecture
Nice room. And public areas are impressive. Bit old fashioned Upper floors could do with a make over
very central for shopping rooms were very poorly heated! very cold!
Great location and value. Beds are comfortable and staff are really friendly. Wifi is terrible
the room was very modern and the films were free
Very efficient, clean and comfortable. Staff approachable and efficient. Wouldn't use if more than 2 night. Room could be cramped if 2 sharing
comfortable, attentive staff, good location no kettle in room
Different Prices Cold hot breakfast Tablet that operated everything didn't work- staff members admitted that wi-fi was poor. Aspirational but failing
We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very innovative with electronic check-in and room controls. We loved the shower! The food was delicious and staff were friendly and courteous. We like how the various spaces for relaxing, reading, meeting, and computer use sort of `unfolded' as we explored the first two floors of the hotel. Difficulty in dropping off bags - no apparent place to stop car for that purpose. Parking was a bit far but ok.
made my stay very comfortable when checking in there was a problem with the system but we did get a free drink while we waited so no problem
Very efficient, staff friendly and very helpful Would prefer to have tea/coffee making facilities in room
Room was excellent, with excellent facilities
The room was amazing. The bed and the mood pad especially.
Loved the clever design of the rooms, the huge bed, and the great breakfasts. But what made it stand it out for me was the gorgeous, comfy 'living room' style public spaces. Would've been nice to have a mini-bar.
Staff were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. Bedrooms were small but perfectly sized for our needs. Bed was very comfortable. In room technology was quirky and fun. Bar - cafe - canteen was modern and exciting, with a well curated bar selection and good food. Good views from 6th floor and up. Despite the bar being busy well into the night, we were not disturbed in our room by noise or light pollution. There did not appear to be a gym or fitness area. This probably not a good hotel for families with young children.
the room was clean and fine for one person Wakened at 4am by other guests on the 6th floor and had to call in a complaint. Didn't sleep again which wasn't ideal as I was down in Glasgow for a business meeting the whole of Monday and felt really tierd. Not impressed!
It was very close to the station.
The hotel holds a free cheese and wine social at night that gets you out of your tiny room to stretch out and relax with other people. The noise level throughout the hallways was none to low. The staff were friendly and helped with directions to places. The breakfast wasn't really substantial enough for people who were about to walk about for the entire day. We'd make it to 10AM and already be hungry. They only offered cooked bacon, everything else was continental. The area didn't offer an alternative.

Modern, clean, comfortable, and cozy. Tiny room but the design is perfect. Great little breakfast option. Wonderful staff with charming customer service. They were very accommodating in letting me leave my luggage for a few hours after I checked out. I wish there was a little closet to hang up clothes. The room I had there was just a hook with 3 hangers for hanging a couple items. For a one night stay that's fine but for multiple nights could be annoying.
Perfect location! Friendly, courteous, helpful staff. Clean and quiet room. LOVED the 5-8pm wine and cheese! Minor .... But would have liked another knob to hang towels in bathroom- only one knob. Heating rail to dry damp stuff. Small room but very well laid out- cozy

The staff had the best customer service that I have ever experienced at a hotel. The rooms are very small but the location and staff make the experience more than good.
Great location, comfortable and quiet room.

The cheese and wine is a great idea and the value overall for being right next to George Square is amazing. Clean and friendly to make up for the small room.
Lovely room - we were upgraded to Junior Suite from Executive Room. The Collage Bar in the corner is fantastic - the layout, staff and food just excellent. Champagne cocktails in the Atrium Bar are worth coming back for. Car parking arrangements are poor. Didn't expect to arrive in the snow, have nowhere to park at the hotel and then have to pay £30 for parking elsewhere on the weekend.
large room breakfast was not an option on booking
The staff were friendly and didn't make you feel that you were a bother at any time. I also liked the fact that the only people in the bar area after midnight were residents (with or without friends). I was a bit shocked at the variance in the price as I stayed for 2 nights and couldn't believe the hike for the Saturday, felt this was exploitation.
the hotel was lovely, it was our silver wedding and the hotel mad it very special, room was beautiful and breakfast was amazing thank you loved it
convenience of location friendly staff noisy at night at front of hotel where my room was.
Really modern, contemporary decor. Very attentive staff.
it was central for shopping
I was there for a black tie function and found my stay and function most enjoyable. no onsight parking.
The hotel staff at reception were very helpfull, due to the short stay in the hotel as l was having to catch the first flight from Glasgow to London l was unable to use the hotel facilities.
central to all facilities and easy to get to
Location for shopping and eating out at night. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. En-suite bathroom required some improvements.
Freedom and space
Friendly staff, good facilities, great location. No complaints.
The location was fantastic and value would be hard to beat Room was clean however in need of freshening up
Nice spacious and clean appartment, comfortable bed Traffic noise
First class accommodation, convenient for central Glasgow, facilities, shooping, restaurants etc etc etc! Staff were great. Superb. Not one thing
great value for money. spacious ( much more than a hotel room) the only slight issue was the smell of curry in the corridor.
I have previously stayed at Residence 6 in Leeds and was very impressed. Whilst Fraser Suites was ok - it certainly wasnt what I expected. Decor was tired, the carpets were grubby, the furniture was scratched and looked tatty. The bathroom was very tired (mouldy grouting in places). Didnt live up to my expectations and probably wouldnt book to go there again. First impressions were good, on further inspection you noticed the above. Not really a 4*, maybe at one time it was? see above.
Location in the Merchant City was what was wanted, and delivered
The checkin process was easy and location is excellent. The rooms are big and having separate kitchen/living area is a nice alternative to a hotel especially if staying for a few nights or more. The lifts are slow but that's about it
The rooms are fabulous. A very comfortable stay. Easy walk into town, the shops & restaurants. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Location was supurb. The receptionist was friendly. Facilities in the room were adequate The bed could be beter
the staff were very nice and the food was very good, the bar prices were a bit on the high side. only 1 person on reception so you had to wait a while at times.
the only problem i had was when given our key noone explained how to use it eg that we had to leave it in the slot to work the electricity maybe to some people who use hotels a lot this is common sense but for my daughters and myself who were having a little treat we didnt have a clue we had to work it out for ourselves it would have been nice if they had just taken a few seconds to explain when we checked in.we bookerd online with my mothers credit card but paid in cash when we checked in the man asked for an extra 20 pound but did not explain what this was for i had to ask later as i thought i had just made a mistake in reading the details we had it would be a good idea if the staff didnt take it for granted that we all use hotels regularly and know what to do.
My sisters and I were in Glasgow for a shopping weekend and have stayed in this hotel three times now. It is brilliant that they do triple rooms which are very comfortable. We had a meal in the bar which was very good. Staff could smile a bit more.
would like to have known how much breakfast would have been, never saw anything to say but ther was information on other food.We ended up somewherelse incase it was too expensive!
The location Old room
Marks Hotel is very central and walkable to most of the city centre. Hotel is lovely and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Plan to stay at Marks Hotel again very soon No complaints at all - rooms, restaurant and staff splendid
The Comfort & Location The fact that you cant smoke in the comfort of your own room.
the location for shopping the triple room was a good size the hotel was excellent value
The hotel has a great location and is easy to find.
the cream for the coffe was 1 month out of date, and the bath had not been cleaned...hair stuck to it all over.
very clean in reception area and room. ice maker on each floor nice booked a triple room but had to ask for extra towels and cup etc
Close to the train station and not a far walk from some busy shopping streets. They validate parking Room/ water had a smell of sulfur. The couch in the room had a visible white stain.
We booked a triple room and it was small and only had a double bed. This is a solid budget hotel
friendly/very helpful reception staff/ cleaning staff very approachable and went out of their way to meet our needs/ service in all aspects highly recommended / well done dont think guest reviews of any hotel are helpful as they tend to be based on emotion and every hotel should be assessed on its own merits.
concert we had booked room was very cold and smelled of stale smoke, restaurant very very cold and food also very cold.
Good situation for shopping, pubs etc none
The location was good and central, good speedy check in service and they also provide luggage lock up on departure if required so you don't have to cart unnecessary bags around until required. No complaints
Ease of check in / check out - plenty of staff available during busy times. Breakfast facilities and food of a high standard. How room price jumped by £40 due to a football match being played in the City.
acess to city centre Our room was cold and very noisy heating device
quality of hotel rooms were cold
Close to Train Station. Heat did not work properly.
I loved the whole experience. You couldn't find a more convenient location. It was a bit overpriced.
Very convenient and central. Very near station. Great value for money. Efficient and friendly service. A little noisy from station
Very central Breakfast not too hot
Comfy hotel in a central location. Not being able to get a taxi via reception. Was recomended by reception staff to go to taxi stand at queen st station where we waited 50mins for cab. Would rather have waited in the hotel. Have always been able to have a taxi pick up at any hotel we have stayed in before.
,Reception staff were very ,helpful and this is an excellent hotel. This is the second time I have used it I think that £16.75p is far too expensive for a full breakfast.
The location was superb, the staff friendly and the room comfortable. The shower was excellent- one of the most important things in a hotel! The room was perhaps a little bit dated, but having said that, very pleasant.
I stay at Millenniuem for it's central location, friendly staff and good atmosphere.
Front staff was accommodating and very pleasent.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the club lounge for a quiet compliementary drink was great I did not find anything wrong with this hotel
I enjoyed the caring way the staff cared for everyone, nothing was to much trouble for them. No complaints at all.
Great central location. Helpful and friendly staff.
Well positioned for all facilities offered by Glasgow City We would have liked a lounge/bar facility the reception area being small meant having to always go to the bedroom.
Room was great & reception staff very helpful.
This hotel was rated 5 star on your web site but doesn't merit this rating, either for the facilities or for the dining room - 4 at a stretch. We are compparing it to the Balmoral in Edinburgh, also reserved through your site which is definitely a 5 star.
The location and the size of the room were excellent for the money - I will stay here again and recommendto others.
Central location Parking facilities
The room was very nice No car parking, the nearest car park was a 5 minute uphill walk. The breakfast was very poor. I had to ask the same girl, who didn't understand english very well for coffee 3 times. I stayed for 3 nights and had to get the room keycard re-activated each day. It was the first and last time I will stay at this hotel
The temperature in the room was quite high and we couldnt get it low enough.
Friendliness of staff Noise from extractor fans outside building.
Very cute decor in clean, spaceous rooms. Well stocked free mini bar in each room. Also, the 7th floor lounge was a great feature with cozy chairs, free internet, computers, bar and snacks. Only a short one block walk from Queen St train station, easy even with our luggage.
All staff were extremelly pleasant and helpful. Great central location None- no problems at all
I found the stay comfortable, safe and clean. A lovely building with a fascinating history, which added to the stay for me. Staff informative and helpful- and smiling! The take-away breakfast is a brillaint idea. thank you.
quiet room, private, nice modern setting in an older building. The cafe in the hotel was excellent--food and decor.
The Glasgow Abode is stunning, the building, large rooms, high ceilings, comfortable surroundings all combined to make this short stay very pleasurable.
Lovely old building with some nicely preserved features such as the old-fashioned lift shaft. Comfortable room, friendly reception staff and good breakfast. Unfortunately the Michael Caines restaurant was closed on the Monday I stayed there but my colleague who stayed an extra day was lucky enought to be able to eat there.
The comfort, decor and location of the hotel The restaurant is top class, but maybe a little too pricey
Prompt check-in and check-out, efficient staff
Friendly staff and ease of use of facilities Room was small and noisy
it was a beautiful hotel, clean the room was very small
The room was beautifully appointed and well decorated. The bathroom was extremely well designed and furnished. An outstanding accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
Central location. Architectural charm. Friendly staff. Smallish bathroom
Cleanliness of the room Noise in the middle of the night - guests running and shouting in corridor and noise of traffic, bin men early morning
A quiet room (top corner of the building); also carpeted corridors and quiet corridor doors. Comfortable, clean bed. Comfortable temperatures, and a thermostat that's easy to understand, with sensible settings. Curtains that keep the room dark at night. Clean bathroom in which everything works. Good breakfast a kettle etc a tv that doesn't dominate the room. Not a bad point really - but some sort of decaff drink by the kettle would be nice, eg a herb tea / decaff coffee.
The bed was comfortable, the location was great and the hotel was quiet. I also liked the self check in facilities, although it did mean that I did not talk to any hotel staff the whole time I was staying at the hotel, so can not really comment on the level of service and staff. The breakfast was expensive so we went elsewhere.
I have stayed in serveral Premier Inns and they never disappoiont. The one in George Street is very convenient for the city centre as it is just off George Square.
Staff very friendly and nice, easy going hotel, A bad smell in the bathroom like urine
Fast, efficient automated check-in and check-out but with friendly staff support. Clean, quiet, well-sized, pleasant room with comfortable bed all essential services and excellent bathroom, hot water etc. Breakfast was fine, freshly cooked and with a wide selection if a little fast-food in feel. No bad points.
The room was very clean & comfortable. It was also quiet. Nothing!
The food was excellent! The location was perfect, we could walk to everything we needed. The rooms were spacious, and the staff was very courteous and helpful. Cannot think of any negative I.
The staff were friendly. The locagtion was great and the facilities were first class. Room and breakfast were just right. No complaints at all.
None You could call it jumping on the bandwagon due to concerts being held at Hampden,Overpriced, poor quality of service and food
Very godd location and a modern building with easy access. Disabled room was a little tired looking and the bathroom door was difficult.due to wear.
Great location, clean rooms and comfortable bed. No
Food excellent, staff friendly and helpful
Nice hotel, comfortable room, good location
Convenience, location & value for money
The location of the hotel was perfect for us, the room was fine, nice and quiet at night, and the staff were all very nice and helpful Maybe a little pricey considering breakfast was not included, as I heard later, the holiday inn express next door was the same price and did include breakfast?
Location is great. Bar is a cut above the usual Holiday Inn. Room a little small. Also, it could be a bit noisy but since it fronted onto a busy Glasgow street that was unavoidable.
The size of the bedroom was so small and the bathroom was tiny. Not what I expected from Holiday Inn
Convenience for shopping We finally escaped hectic family life for 2 nights and looking forward to chilling out and relaxing but the room we were given was very small, bed not too comfortable. Handicapped facilities in bathroom so no bath to relax and chill out. From previous experience of 4* Hotels I feel that this hotel did not come up to standard alot of little extras missing, e.g. size of bed & size of bathroom
Location was in a smoking room
Central Location.Clean,friendly.But it should be given price and star rating Traffic noise.also noisy clients in middle of night. But it was a weekend near Christmas.
Staff nice & friendly & helpful, food & drink good. Not having its own car park, Plastic security card casued problems getting in to hotel external door. (INo problems inside hotel)
Location - very close to the bus station as well as the center of the town. Nice large bathroom. Good continental breakfast with fresh fruit. Rather limited space for clothes and bags.
The room was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. Didn't like the way they had changed the cereals from the boxes to a dispensing machine ..they also had stopped supplying grapefruit segments but other than that it was fine.
Location The room was cold and it would have been nice to have room service and fresh towels even if we only were staying Friday-Sunday
The room was very comfortable, just what I expected The breakfast was a nightmare, the room was to small to hold all food cabinets etc, people bumping into each other as there was no elbow room to move being a buffet breakfast serving yourself was difficult, plates to put your food on were in sort supply and ran out at times, no where to put your dirty dishes or trays after eating, so they were dumped on other tables, this stopped other people being able to get into the dinning room, so a queue formed out in the corridor, this breakfast experience I will not be repeating.
Freindly reception staff, Security card needed for lifts as well as rooms difficult parking, no obvious drop off area
A quiet relaxing time - not noisy at all.the Cleaning staff were very helpful and did a great job. Great location for shopping and touring. I thought that the reception staff could have been more pleasant. The cleaning staff were great - good job and so very nice - a credit to the hotel.
Proximity to the bus station - staff helpful and receptive to changes / requests.
