the family room was of a good size, beds were comfortable, view was great, morning breakfast was complete. great value for money
only view, apart from this my room at top floor which is very hot, and hotel is comparatively very expensive, if we compare with any service or facility provdied by hotel 1. rooms were very hot so not comfortable 2. No room service. £. very expensive
superb location and view, comfortable lounges nice pool
Great rooms and breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. As with everything it's very expensive to stay in Switzerland
Quiet location, view of mountains, plentiful and delicious breakfast buffet, polite staff Outdated, unattractive furniture in room; shower was in bedroom rather than in bathroom; room had feather beds even though I had specifically requested no feather beds due to allergies; my daughters were put in a room in the hotel's neighboring chalet instead of in main hotel with me.
A nice hotel with helpful staff; beautiful setting. Excellent food and bright modern rooms.
we look forward to breakfast each morning which includes bacon, eggs, cereals, fruit, cheese, ham and various breads. The chalet room we had was very spacious and as always was clean, comfortable and with plenty of hot water.we like the fact that we are left alone to enjoy our holiday but always know that the staff are helpful if needed.
Very helpful staff, good at advising on local trips
The Hotel Berghof was in a beautiful location at the edge of Wilderswil (a bus ride from Interlaken). Our room had a nice view down the valley looking towards the high peaks. The atmosphere of the hotel (both staff and guests) was friendly and warm, the breakfast was great. An idyllic hotel and location.
breakfast smoking inside the hotel and no free pick up service from station
Good location not far from the train station where trains to Schynige Platte, and Grindelwald leave (3 minutes walk). Nice view across the lake. The price is reasonable. The staff was a bit strange. When I arrived, the hotel seemed completely deserted, and I walked around for 15 minutes until finally some lady came to the reception. Also during other times, nobody was attending the reception, and their was no bell to ring. Staff was in general very reserved.
view towards Jungfrau tired ,depressing furnishings -substandard bedding ,towels. - poor standard of catering -ankle deep grass in the garden - the hotel needs a radical refurbishment and up grade
It was so near to the railway station, and we had a wonderful views of the mountains from the window. no lift
The Hotel arranged an early breakfast at my request The stuffed birds and animals in the dining room!
Calm location, away from the crowd at Interlaken Expensive considering the normal facilities
Location was very good. Price was relatively low comparing other places.
The location of the hotel. The view from the hotel was fantastic. The staff was very kind to give us big room.
Was nice , good breakfast no tea or coffee service in the room
This is a traditional chalet. The area has a lot to offer the international traveller. Upon arrival the smell hit us hard. Very strong stale cooking smell. After airing our room for a few hours it was much better. Not really the ideal situation as it was freezing cold. No lift and heaps of stairs. Breakfast was good, didn't try dinner as too expensive. Internet was on offer but extremely expensive and really slow. The dearest by far we experienced in Europe. They had a wedding on the Saturday night in the breakfast room so when we got back from a day out couldn't get a car park and it was fairly noisy with the extra guests. When we went to breakfast the next morning the room was a mess and the table cloths were all stained. The older woman on reception was not very pleasant.
The ambianc was funny, an old mountain hotel with good breakfast. The restaurant serves fine meals for a good ratio price-quality. We looked the Jungfrau from our room balcony.
very friendly and helpful staff good english. Felt we were in a truly alpine environment,as the Hotel is traditionally Swiss and the Staff wore traditional clothing. Our 2nd. visit at the Alpenblick and hopefully not our last. Excellent position too.
Friendly, helpful staff, excellent restaurant with very attentive service. Good access to Lauterbrunnen valley. Beautiful scenery all around. Rooms were serviceable, but could be updated a bit. One of our rooms was very smoky-smelling.
Helpful and accomodating staff
Gourmet menu was excellent and waiter was very informative The bedroom was tiny
The restaurant is excellent...worth going to the restaurant but I would stay somewhere else (personal preference). I would stay in Bern where you have more choice of hotels than Interlaken, then day trip to the Interlaken area. It's only an hour away by train (a little less actually). Good points about this hotel are that it is 5 mins away from Interlaken by train, 10 mins from Lauterbrunnen, and the town is very pretty. The breakfast was surprisingly plentiful and delicious; we were expecting bread and coffee. The bathroom is on the small side. We thought the whole room was dark. Only one main light and it was weak, 2 lights above the bed, they were weak too. The main thing that bothered us was no airconditioning. We were there in May, can't imagine it in July. They didn't advertise that there was AC or anything, we just didn't expect that warm of weather. No wireless internet, internet prices using the hotel computer were a bit high. Basically, it felt kind of like staying at your grandparent's house...the building is older and decorated in an old-fashioned way. If you are looking for somewhere that is described as quaint or charming, you will probably enjoy the hotel. But if you prefer a more modern hotel (as I do), then you will want to look elswhere. This is why I wouldn't reccomend it...it isn't MY preference. It might be yours.
excellent base for walking and ski-ing. Hotel staff were very friendly and food was great. no
It was easy to find, staff was courteous, no complaints would highly recommend this Hotel - Breakfast was wonderful, scenery fabulous and it was quiet. Could have been a little less expensive for the room we were given.
Peaceful location. Large room (although very simply furnished) and adequate bathroom. Nice sauna. Dinner very poor but breakfast better than expected. May have been the time of year because everything in the area (including hotel) very quiet.
The food was particularly good value and of excellent standard
Close to Interlaken and locates in very quiet village Bit complicate to go for skiing if you do not take a ski bus.
Large (for European standards) rooms, very clean and individual. Breakfast was great and the hotel staff was unbelievably friendly. It's not within walking distance of Interlaken (about 30 min if you do), but the public transportation is excellent.
History, nature, family atomoshpere, owmer supervision and friendly interaction. I will defently stay in it again if back to Swiss.
Wilderswil is a village location, but has easy access to Interlaken and other places via the local bus (stop nearby) and train (10 mins away). The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. View of the mountains from the balcony. For the standard it seemed quite expensive. There was a surprising amount of traffic noise from the road that our room overlooked, considering that the village is away from Interlaken. Fortunately this stops at night. There was also a strange arrangement with the wash basin in our bedroom, rather than in the en suite. Service in the restaurant (we had one meal there) was rather disorganised.
Friendly, family atmosphere.
the atmosphere in the hotel and excellent restaurant
The service was great and the restaurants were reasonable. It was hot--no A/C.
The room was very clean and sunny. Service was very good as well. It is 10 min from the station - but very close to the bus stop.
