Pros: We loved our stay. Mali made us feel like we were visiting her home. We had seen many of the sights in Guanajuato, but she was very helpful in giving us more suggestions. She was always asking if she could be of more help. This B & B is an older, charming, well kept house located close to the historical part of the city. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was nicely presented in the patio setting. If we visit Guanajuato again, we will stay at Villa Sueño Azul B&B.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is located just on the edge of the hustle and bustle of Centro. An easy, pleasant stroll to jump into the beautiful center of downtown living. A peaceful place to rest and refresh.
Cons: The reality of historic plumbing. It’s not new to me but it’s not what I’d hope for. I prefer flushing everything.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great host
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room with king size bed and small private balcony. Was an upgrade from our initial booking and the extra elbow room turned out to be a plus. Good wifi, nice continental breakfast, the complementary coffee, tea and water at all times during the day/evening was a plus and appreciated. Great rooftop patio with beautiful plants everywhere. The staff are lovely and non intrusive. Mali provided lots of great local tips and was a gracious hostess. The B&B is still located in the San Sebastián area, a nice 10-15 minute walk from the historic area. Relatively quiet but expect some rooster crowing and dogs barking at night. Definitely would stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending.
Cons: Would have been nice to have a television in our room or even in the larger sitting area downstairs. The current location is not amenable to comfortable viewing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff extraordinary- helpful, kind, took extra care of all of our needs
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the Villa Sueno Azul for 2 weeks while studying Spanish at the Escuela Falcon. A 15 minute walk to the center enabled us to experience the atmosphere of this neighborhood - small shops. markets, people and families going about their daily lives. We remain so appreciative of Mali who is so knowledgeable about local venues and events. She was interested in our daily efforts at school and helpful in furthering our practice. Mali even arranged for a good, safe driver to take us to San Miguel de Allende and pick us up two days later. We felt well cared for at the Villa Sueno Azul especially important for our lengthy stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful; our room was very clean and comfortable; good breakfast; very pleasant communal area inside and a rooftop terrace to relax on. Easy walking to the centro Historico and restaurants. No television in the room but we were happy with that. Great stay.
Cons: Rooms at the front on the street might be noisy but you are told that when you book.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view of our suite (6) was amazing. It has got the best view over the city in the hole hotel. We loved the combination of art and the old architecture a lot. And the hotel is also really close to the historic city center which is great to explore the city quickly as we had to, because we only stayed one night.
Cons: There was nothing i didn't liked. We had only one little issue with the temperature of the water in the pool and in the shower. For us it could have been a bit warmer.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was great at this property! t]The reception staff, the wait staff at the restaurants and bars, and the women who cleaned our rooms all made our stay more enjoyable! The rooms were very comfortable with large spacious bathrooms nad great bath products. I loved the infinity pool they had and the rooftop bar had great views of the city, both day and night!
Cons: My only complaint was that the prices for food/drink at the restaurant was a bit pricier than other places in the city that had same quality food.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The building is great and unique, rich in artistic works. They renovated it only a year ago. Large rooms, large bathroom and excellent water flow. The common areas are pleasant to sit down and the view is lovely
Cons: When we arrived at the hotel they gave us a room from the one we ordered. The receptionist claimed that it was not their problem but that of the booking site and that they had no place in the hotel. Just as I went downstairs and showed her that I had booked a room with a balcony, she suddenly found a room. It was an unpleasant experience for a high class hote Be aware that the regular room doesn't have a window.

Pros: Our host, Gina, was fantastically energetic, friendly and welcoming. She reviewed a map with us and pointed out all of the places we would enjoy...especially including restaurant /bar areas.
Cons: This is of no fault to the property as they have no control over this. There was construction by the state ongoing on our alley to the residence. It was quite a precarious journey carrying luggage. All ok in spite of this. Shared kitchenette but a small enough venue that it was not uncomfortable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room very clean including the share spaces. Beds very confortable, very good attention from our Host. Very close to main interest places.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in. I won't spoil any of the surprises but lets just say that this hotel goes the extra mile. The room was fantastic (we received an upgrade on arrival). The staff were so friendly, helpful and interesting. The facilities were excellent including the spa, we had a treatment while visiting and it was very professional. I would visit this hotel again in a heartbeat. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Pros: Beds were comfortable, hotel was very clean and stylish, customer service excellent, and location was amazing.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very attentive and hospitable. The hotel is centrally located. Had a wonderful experience!! Would definitely come back!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff are great and helpful. Included breakfast was outstanding at great restaurant next door. Location can't be beat. There is some noise from the adjacent Jardin Union, but inside room was quiet. Rooftop views are amazing.
Cons: Rooms are very variable, but quite nice. Only downside that we experienced was our Cynthia room, while quiet even though next to elevator, had no drawers except one tiny nightstand draw, and the armoire only accommodated the length of a sports jacket. Gown had to be hung from the curtain rod for entire stay. Likewise nowhere to place toiletries except on stand in shower area that got very moist, so we moved the stand to the WC. Putting in some under sink drawers would help a lot, big enough for some clothing as well. Otherwise it was a great stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just step outside and you are in a beautiful plaza sorrounded with beautiful trees and restaurants. Full of action. The best place and location we ever stayed. Staff are sooo friendly. The room is big, clean and very comfortable bed. I will recommend this hotel 100%

It was my husband's b'day and the staff not only offered him a beautiful desert, but they also prepared a greeting card with personal greetings and signatures of EACH and ALL the staff! Amazing and moving! Kudos to1850 for affording us a perfect Guanajuato stay!
Cons: We would have appreciated more complimentary coffee capsules and water...

And everything you eat is natural and homemade. Their yoghurt and granola is to die for. Each morning we were treated to a local homemade dish. And coffee and tea was available throughout. Breakfast was superb - fresh fruit, freshly made fruit juice, coffee and a different cooked item each day. A nice short walk to town. The views are spectacular during the day and night. *Tip* If you have heavy bags/luggage, get dropped off at the top of the stairs (the street west of the hostel)

Pros: Everything was superb. Even the stairs and intermittent wifi wouldn't stop me from staying here again.
Cons: The wifi wasn't always the best
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved that it was slightly out of town so the view from all angles was incredible (and I got to work of my tacos climbing the stairs!). Very impressed that the dorms were cleaned everyday and my bed was made. Delish breakfast made by the very skilled cook. Lovely atmosphere and made friends for life at the hostel.
Cons: Nothing!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Once I mentally prepared for the stairs leading to and from the front door, I loved this hostel. You can avoid walking up the stairs by having a taxi take you to the top of the stairs (Panorámica street) when you arrive. Can't avoid having to walk down, but after you've finished exploring Guanajuato for the day, take the Funicular up to the scenic viewpoint by Pipila monument and walk down Panorámica street (mostly flat) for 15 minutes until you reach the top of the stairs that lead to the hostel. Great customer service - the man who checked me in helped me drag my suitcase to my room, the chef at breakfast was friendly and made fantastic eggs to order for each person, and another man at the front desk arranged for a taxi to come pick me up in the wee hours of the morning. My room was clean and spacious, with lots of storage space, a vanity, and a private bathroom.
Cons: The only negative was the bed was kind of hard, and the pillow wasn't particularly soft, but I slept fine.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfortable with lots of covers to suit different needs. Huge lockers. Bed was remade for second day. Towel and soaps provided.
Cons: The kitchen was tiny. Although the beds were single and not bunk bed style in my room I don't think I would have liked sleeping in the middle bed as they were quite close together.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Free breakfast (not just a piece of fruit and toast like most hostels, but an actual free breakfast and they did not complain when you asked for seconds). Honestly the breakfast was fantastic and was the best that I have had at any hostel ever (and that is out of probably 20-25 hostels in my life). Great art hung around the building and beautiful balcony overlooking the city with lounge chairs to hang out on Good value Large storage lockers to put your stuff in Free drinking water Very friendly and helpful staff If in Guanajuato again, I definitely plan to stay here. One of the best decorated hostels with the best breakfast ever.
Cons: The stairs up to the hostel are really intense (especially if you have a mildly heavy bag) Not directly in the city center (still a beautiful location nonetheless)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect: wonderful view, delicious breakfast, lovely service, nice family/landlords. Best place in Guanajuato
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great view from the balcony and rooftop. Breakfast is amazing!
Cons: Beds not the most comfortable. Not really the hostels fault but there was absolutely no one staying when I was there. Would have liked a bit of company when you plan to live in hostels. Location can be hard to get to after dark as it's like a 15-20 minutes walk to downtown.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Great breakfast and staffs in the morning shift are helpful and nice!
Cons: One toliet shared among everyone. On my first night when I arrived late, the toilet is overflown (terribly disgusting !) and obviously other residents did not tell management and by the time I used it, the checkin counter is closed and no one can help. No leaving your bags in check out day and good luck with carrying your bags on the stairs and walk around downtown to find a bag storage! This is the first time ever I had been in a hostel who refuse to store bags for guests on the checkout date; their excuse is that they run the risk guests left drugs in the bags. Apparently they will be ok to have drug dealer staying at the premise as long as they don’t leave their bags on checkout date. Staff at night was unhelpful: he was like: I am just an employee and I cannot do anything to help when guests have any issue and if you don’t like it, you can leave and stay somewhere else.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The bed is huge and very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious.

6.3 Good
Pros: Regarding bed clothing it was definitely not luxury. If it hasn’t been for the jacuzzi this should have been noted as a 3 star hotel.
Cons: Besides bed clothing the breakfast was not high quality. Tea, for example was not even served in a proper tea pot & bread was not fresh.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It’s a beautiful property and the employees were extremely helpful, friendly and polite!!
Cons: TV was hard to manage and bed is comfy but a bit noisy
9.3 Excellent
Cons: Air conditioning leaked all night. Was noisy outside. Bed was not that comfortable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The property was absolutely beautiful. The location, while a bit away from the town center, was easy to get to, and the town was an easy walk.
Cons: Breakfast service was a bit off. They need to learn to serve tea properly.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed how nice the staff was and how helpful they where.
Cons: I didn’t like the pillows, too flat
5.8 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was great!
Cons: The king balcony room we stayed in was too hot. The room needs air conditioning at the price they are charging. Unfortunately, we could not open the balcony door as we were going to sleep because the street below is far too noisy. We were left suffering with a stuffy room or (worse) a noisy street below.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb place in the center of Guanajuato if your looking for a place to stay look no further. Large spread of breakfast provided and as our flight was delayed we reached pretty late so they helped organise a cab to pick us up from the airport. Guanajuato was the highlight of my trip and staying at Santa Regina was the icing on the cake.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and beds so comfortable, location was the best. Great hotel
7.5 Good
Pros: Central location
Cons: Noise in hotel so could not sleep
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, breakfast was good and the service at the restaurant was excelente
Cons: Bed mattress was kind of hard
5.0 Okay
Pros: Cleanness and location, but they are many things to improove
Cons: The staff members! it looks that there is only one person to take care of situations, without good experience and very low customer service, no sufficient knowledge about customer needs and expectations. The bathroom liked and the staff member gave me a mop to clean by myself!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast. Good view. Confortable and clean beds.
Cons: The reservation was made few months ago. When we arrived the front desk told us that my reservation was not register. They divide us. One of the two families went to a different hotel.

Pros: I like the poetry reading in the hotel and a play reading the next day.

Pros: The personnel was very accommodating and helpful. The beds were comfortable and rooms clean. Quiet too! Great buffet style Mexican breakfast! The area is close to many restaurants and basilica.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: They help me in everything very friendly super clean
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, wonderful staff, comfortable rooms. All in all, a great place to stay in Guanajuato.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect for this little town. Breakfast is excellent consider the price. Room not so outstanding but good enough.
Cons: Little noise since rooms are within the corridor.
7.4 Good
Pros: The staff did its best to help with room issues, and we appreciated that. The terrace was really pretty.
Cons: The breakfast was really bad. Our toilet was broken and we had to take off the lid and pull up the chain in order to flush. Wifi was spotty at best. The room could have benefited from a ceiling fan as there was no air conditioning (which I don't really care about) and the standing fan was inadequate against the heat. The terrace was lovely but hot, and smelled of detergent. There was no drink service, no ice, or refrigeration, so while we were invited to take our own beverages upstairs, that was not a realistic option.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was quiet no outside noise...breakfast acceptable not much variety...close to main plaza.
Cons: Bed good size but very soft I sank in the middle of mattress.

7.5 Good
Pros: The view over the city is great. Very easy access with the funicular
Cons: Earplugs are a must since you can hear everything
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The views are their best asset. The room and bathroom were clean, toiletries, good water pressure. They have coffee in the lobby, and a refrigerator where you can put anything you bring.
Cons: maybe they need to add ceiling fans , it does get warm and stuffy at night. It is not a good idea to sleep with the sliding glass door open. A screen would be helpful also.
8.0 Excellent

Overview Reviews
Located in Guanajuato (Zona Centro), Hotel Real de Leyendas is within a 15-minute walk of Juarez Theater and Union Garden. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place: a bit old, but well maintained, clean and lovely. But then you are in Guanojuato - it's a magic city after all, so you should keep in mind that most properties will be old. The street is not busy as city centre. We came during Cervantito festival time and trust me I did not envy people leaving right on the main streets of the historic districts - they did not get a chance to sleep with all the music and festivities. City is small, so ten minutes walk will place you right in the city centre, and on your way you sill pass the market and the kissing street. Hotel has no parking, but if you ask at the reception, they will guide you to the nearest parking lot around the corner. We paid 120 pesos per 24 hours of parking. Whole hotel experience is worth the value.
Cons: Can still hear cars outside, but good that hotel is not a very busy street.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Not possible to check in earlier although room was available, really crowded and loud due to room on the street and next to reception. But very clean
8.3 Excellent
Pros: They were very accommodating when we needed to make a change to our reservation. The beds were comfy and staff very nice
Cons: There was no air conditioning and it was hot, and no breakfast included.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful service
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable beds, and price.
Cons: No air conditioning
5.5 Okay
Pros: Room was clean. Bed was comfortable and room was of good size.
Cons: Poor location, far from tourist restaurants and sights so we had to take a taxi everywhere. Room was very cold even with the extra blankets they gave us. No heat in January and very little warm water in the bathroom unless we requested it. Hotel is located on a busy street unless you take a room in the back so street noise can be a problem. The only restaurants nearby close at 7:0o pm.
