Pros: Very quiet and peaceful, loads of parking, spacious rooms and a great breakfast
Cons: We had a ground floor room which had fabulously big windows but we had to keep drawing the curtains to get dressed or undressed. Pros: I arrived after having a slight vehicle issue. I was greated with wonderful smiles and the staff couldn’t do enough to try to help me out with my problem. I was given the owners parking spot to help with security of my car. It’s not always easy when you are a lone female traveller, but this certainly wasn’t the case at The Royal George. Decided to spend evening at the hotel to eat with friends - so glad we did, the food was fantastic . The hotel was modern fresh and spotlessly clean, and was made to feel so welcome even with a four legged travelling companion. Breakfast was again faultless (even though I was still quite full from supper the night before !)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and clean.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely village setting. Great landlord - very helpful. Nice accommodation, with separate sitting room.
6.8 Good
Cons: Not the best location - a bit off the beaten track and because it’s a pub property it doesn’t open until 6pm , so if you get there early, you can’t check in and there is nothing else in the hamlet , pretty though it is. Also , my mistake, but I thought breakfast was included in the original cost - it is extra and is delivered in a basket if you pay for it , but it isn’t fresh bread or anything like that , basically just breakfast “staples .... yogurt, biscuit bars , pre-wrapped plain bread rolls ( like those you get on an aircraft) . Hence if staying, buy your own breakfast and take it with you. Absolutely nothing wrong with the accommodation or staff , just not as we imagined.
7.5 Good
Pros: nice food good quiet location
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lilly was brilliant! Super welcome, running the bar and waiting on tables so efficiently and always smiling.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcome, good to have the ‘cottage’ for our group. Bacon sandwiches kindly laid on for us after I’d failed to book breakfast! Pretty pub, very quiet location. Comfortable bed. We were up for a family celebration so didn’t try the supper food.
Cons: No real complaint, just a bit odd to have one full set of towels per room. Duvet hot for summer (but we’d hit rain and cold so not too much of a problem for us!) Pub has limited opening hours, If you want to use it in evening.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location pretty and quiet Cleanliness good and manager very friendly Air conditioning was a nice plus
Cons: Beware check in is only from 18.00 and pub is not manned otherwise..not ideal at all Room smelt slightly damp and noisy people upstairs at 5am £60 seems too much for this standard and no breakfast included
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A quaint bedroom in a separate cottage with parking so you have your own front door and privacy, the food is fabulous and the owner could not be more welcoming.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent

5.7 Okay
Pros: It is a nice quaint village
Cons: No real facilities other than restaurant and bar
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Medbourne is the quintessential English village that’s everything you would want it to be. Over the little wooden bridge is the delightful Nevill Arms Inn , nestled amongst thatcher cottages and lush greenery. I had been before for one of there superb breakfasts, so I was excited to stay as a two night guest . So the pluses : lovely quiet room very nicely appointed and spotlessly clean as was the spacious bright bathroom. Very comfortable bed, good TV with full selection of TV channels. Reasonably good parking (except when the pub is busy ) great breakfast and wonderful cafe with exquisite cakes . And the minuses : When I arrived , there was no clear direction where to go or who to check in with. No “do not disturb” sign for your bedroom door, which was a bit disconcerting. Finally on Sunday night when I got back to my room, I enquired about something to eat .. in the room menu it said Sunday dinner finished at 8:30. However when I enquired with the staff they told me the kitchen closed at 7:30. I didn’t want to eat that early , so in essence there was nothing to eat except crisps from the bar . Not the end of the world, but I did think the staff could have offered a simple sandwich to hotel guests . This did not spoil my otherwise excellent stay in this beautiful Inn . I will definitely come back (if they’ll have me ) these are just small comments for the management to make even better a wonderful experience.

Pros: Everything

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Four poster bedroom was gorgeous.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike everything was perfect.
6.8 Good
Pros: The spa and wellness centre was lovely especially since the pool doesn't close until 9pm so was quiet even on a Friday. The room was comfortable and airy with great facilities. No road noise when the windows were closed.
Cons: Unfortunately, upon check-in we were advised that the restaurant did not close until 9.30pm. After a 3hour journey from Bournemouth we made the most of relaxing in the spa until it closed at 9pm upon which time we went to the restaurant for dinner shortly after. There were still guests eating their meals but were told by the staff that the kitchen was closed and we could only have a sandwich. We explained that there had clearly been a miscommunication however the member of staff was neither apologetic or helpful so in the end we had to drive out and find alternative arrangements. This dampened the experience as we did not expect to have to be eating at Frankie and Bennies after booking a plush spa hotel.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds extremely comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely gardens to rear.
Cons: Smoking area outside main entrance with cigarette butts near deckchairs.
9.3 Excellent
Cons: Didn’t book breakfast at time of booking as we wanted to decide on the day. Turned out to be quite pricey when we did decide to eat there (£15.95)Do it at time of booking is my advice! It was nothing special but service was good.
6.8 Good
Pros: Bed was comfy, breakfast was pretty good. Night porter was nice - good that he let us get a bootle of wine and have an after-hours drink before we all went to bed.
Cons: We had real trouble ordering/waiting for a taxi to a nearby wedding reception - multiple chase up calls and waiting for about 45 minutes. Not your staff’s fault but maybe think about using a different company. Coffee wasn’t great. Microfibre pillow (I have allergies) was soft and lumpy. Scrambled eggs (even though done fresh) were over cooked.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant Manager, Marco was outstanding! Really made my partner's birthday very special!
Cons: The stay and food was outstanding, if I had to make one small criticism it would be the Sirloin Steak in the main meal. Whilst it was cooked to perfection the quality of the steak itself wasn't as lean as it could have been. But this is just a minor point on what was an outstanding meal with fantastic service from Marco and his team. Thank you!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very close to the centre of the town and the parking was in front of our room.
Cons: It was raining when we arrived at the hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: There were several several places to eat within the hotel, we chose the bar which suited us.
Cons: The breakfast was ok but buffet style whereas the other 2 hotels we stayed at on our recent trip were waitress service with better food. The car park was outside our room and because it is a pub as well a# a hotel the car park was used late so rather noisy. There was a clock in the town which chimed until 12.30pm and again from 7am so did not sleep particularly well.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Town centre location Breakfast waiting staff
Cons: Reception staff rather condescending. Damp smell in Corridors. Superficial cleaning OK deeper cleaning not so good
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff! Loved the breakfast. Felt comfortable and cosy during my stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely comfy clean hotel. Beautiful courtyard with well tended abundant flowers. No pressure about sitting for as along as you want. Helpful staff, good deals on food. Everything you could want in the room. Sandwiches were amazing and very generous in portions.
Cons: Breakfast was alright - nothing to write home about! Main courses were low in flavour, especially dishes like risotto or pasta. Basic dishes like burgers or pizza were excellent though - and again very generous portions.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Room, dingy, grubby dark and noisy. Breakfast the worst that I have ever had. Staff were oblivious to what was going on, no one asked if everything was okay!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: FRiendly local pub accomodation
5.8 Okay
Pros: Reasonable. Location good for our needs. We thought it was all very basic compared, for instance of a B&B we had the night before for only 5 pounds more. The shower was difficult to manage but good, when we sorted out its idiosyncrasies. The bathroom was a good size, but no tissues and no soap etc. Although hand wash and shower gel was provided - of indifferent quality. It is always good to have tea and coffee making facilities as we always do in Australia - we also have small fridges even in the most basic motels. By the way, referring to an item below we are from Australia not United Kingdom.
Cons: See above. I thought the accommodation position was not a pleasant outlook in a less than ambient building.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcome from the pub - very helpful.
Cons: WiFi and shower problems
6.8 Good
Pros: The room was clean and smelled of polish
Cons: The barmaid showed us to our room and when we saw her again 10 minutes later she failed to recognise us

Pros: Friendly staff

The Red Lion Inn - Kettering - Bedroom

8.5 Excellent (131 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Kettering, THE RED LION INN is within a 10-minute drive of Kettering Conference Centre and Kettering Golf Club.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location was great as it was central to Rothwell. The surrounding area was quite pleasant and the outside bar area at the Red Lion was well designed.
Cons: Many things. Firstly, the room that I had booked has hairs in the bed. Nor was the bed correctly made so I had to remake the bed. The amount of dust was higher than expected. The blinds had not been dusted and even the guest information book had a layer of dust on it. The blinds were obviously damaged so did not block the light. There was an ex radiator pipe left in the floor which was not appreciated. The TV remote was obviously damaged and the TV would only receive a handful of channels. Also the plug socket came out of the wall when I removed the plug and plugged my phone charger in. Also, the kettle was filled with water which smelt old and the mug provided for hot drinks was stained. Not to mention that the highly doublted if the room had been properly hoovered. The shared bathrooms were all in poor stated. The toilets worked but one wasn't flushed after cleaning, another had bleach down it with toilet tissue floating and the third was suffice. The bath's front was deattached and hairs in the bathtub itself. The shower had not been cleaned at all, there was a silver foil peel from a shampoo bottle left on the shelf and the shower head had not been cleaned as scum had obviously built up.
7.0 Good
Pros: It was Clean
Cons: The mattress
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little pub, hotel. Decent food. Room spacious and bed very comfortable.
Cons: There was an alarm disturbance in the night that was unfortunate, but the management have responded very well and refunded the accommodation costs.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The breakfast/morning staff were great. Breakfast was lovely.
Cons: Really hard to communicate and get answers from staff prior to arrival. Arrangements made before arrival were not what was advise on check in. No information given on check in everything was asked for. No Wi-Fi codes nothing about breakfast. We advised we were attending a function with themselves that evening but didn't even advise it was in the annex so we were waiting in the wrong area in the pub. Beens as the pub shut at 9.30 and there is no info in the room or emergency contact and there is no one on site yet music was blasting out from somewhere till 11.30/45 with a toddler trying to sleep. Room was also extremely hot and it's too noisy with traffic to have Windows open but even when they were was not enough to cool the room, so thick winter duvets on the bed with no sheet to sleep under wasn't great. The standard of cleaning was terrible. I had to clean the toilet myself as the seat itself even was dirty. The shower needed a good clean too and grate put back in sink so the waste isn't just a hole. The amount of dust cobwebs around tea making area, even previous guest big hoop earrings. Considering for the same price we could have stayed a few miles down the road with leisure in a real 4* and that included breakfast too not another £30 on top in the morning. Very little sleep, having to do own cleaning and extremely poor communication or interest in customers. Very disappointed.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: We were given 3 different times for breakfast, eventually starting at 9am which was too late for us as we had travel commitments.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location and good accommodation on the whole.
Cons: The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The room was really noisy as there was very loud musi in the bar downstairs until late at night. Nobody told us to order breakfast at the bar, so we waited .... When we did order, it took 45 minutes to arrive!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice up to date bedroom, exactly what I wanted up to date bathroom couldn’t ask for more, great value for money

Pros: It's a good, budget place. I had a single room on the top floor. Not suitable for swinging cats, but I didn't want to anyway. Small, clean and comfortable room.
Cons: Velux sunblind could have been improved to a more substantial one that blocks more light - room was light as soon as sun was up today.

Pros: Location was good as we wanted a stopover on our way South. Only downside was that it was a bit noisy being at the front of the hotel. Cooked breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Less noise at the front but as it’s a busy road can’t expect too much.

Pros: Small touches in room and deco nicely thought out
Cons: Monday kitchen closed but local places to eat and staff happy to advise best places
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was just right for our visit. The room was small but functional and clean. Bathroom was bright, clean and everything worked. We ate there one night too. Menu was a varied choice and good value
Cons: The only bug was the mattress. A little too soft for my liking
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Very friendly and helpful staff.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed here twice in the last month, and thoroughly enjoyed it each time. On my most recent stay, I had booked a single room, but wasn't too impressed, as it was very small and no desk or chair. The guy on the bar/reception was happy to let me pay the difference and move to a larger room, which worked well for me. Its a really nice small, clean pub with nice decor throughout. Great value for money that I would be happy to recommend.
Cons: I'm being picky now, but wifi was a little patchy. To be fair, you can see I'm struggling to put something in here. Well done to everyone at the Court House!

Pros: Good location in a quiet picturesque village and reasonable price. Friendly staff

7.5 Good
Pros: A friendly welcome, plenty of parking and no noise.
Cons: Clearly a communication breakdown with the lady serving breakfast who was expecting me at a specific time. Not something that many travelers will be expecting. She was quite rude about it :-(
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast. Comfy bed. Quiet upstairs. It was everything I wanted.
Cons: Could not get the Wifi to work.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I was walking and upon arrival in the lively down-to-earth community Inn I had a very friendly welcome by Bridgette. I had a comfortable clean and homely room with a shared bathroom and overall the one night stay fitted in with my schedule. I was moving on to Rothwell through Geddington and the stop in Brigstock was totally OK. I had no problems with food and drinks in the evening and an early breakfast in the morning. Great service and great atmosphere at The Olde Three Cocks. Thanks Bridgette.
Cons: I had no problems.
7.0 Good
Pros: the friendly and accommodating staff, the comfortable bed.
Cons: pity there was no food served on a Monday as there was no where else in the village. Never mind, a patron suggested the next village the food was fine.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good but we were not asked if we wanted a choice of eggs or whether or not we wanted sausages etc or brown or white bread but food was cooked very well
Cons: not keen on the sausages but we are used to Lincolnshire sausages
7.5 Good
Pros: Very clean breakfast was very nice hot and fresh Very clean rooms
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: I don’t think there is anything good to say about this place, the location is good I guess
Cons: The worst welcome, rude service, ridiculously uncomfortable bed, shared shower that hadn’t been cleaned and no shower curtain, overpriced, manager no where to be seen, no heads up about a huge party going on downstairs, then a after party until about 4 am, little sleep, we left at 7am but wasn’t told how to check out or where to leave the keys, then some very hungover/zombie type woman appeared from the kitchen in her pjs and barely said a word and took the keys from me.
