The problem was lack of up to date inventory on Grand Cayman The car I initially received was not in great condition, including a key fob that didn't work. I called the Hertz office expressing my disappointment. The next day, Ali, the manager, drove to the other side of the island, 45 minutes away, and swapped out the first car with a newer one in much better condition. He was very apologetic and empathetic. So overall, the service was great. Inventory, though, has apparently been an issue with regard to getting fresh cars from Hertz to the island.Reviewed May 7 2023

Rented from Hertz in GC several times, and this particular vehicle was without a doubt below the standard we have come to expect of Hertz. The staff at pickup and drop-off were exceptionally friendly and helpful, my overall rating of 'okay' comes from a car in below-average condition. First, the key fob was scotch-taped together and could not be closed, none of the lock/unlock functions worked, including the trunk. The door strap on the front passenger door was completely missing, causing the door to always want to close getting in or out. The gas cap was very hesitant and did not open without a struggle. The gas gauge showed 3/4 tank upon pickup and when filling with gas would not hold more than 3/4 tank, suggesting the gauge may have a problem. These minor inconveniences combined with a car showing numerous dents and dings, a cigarette burn in the driver seat, and basic overall rough use are below the standards we are used to from Hertz.Reviewed Feb 13 2023

We booked a compact and they gave us an economy without compensation. A blonde female employee remarked our luggage was not going to fit in the economy car and tried to upsell us to a van. Of course, it would have fit in the card we reserved months ahead of he trip. They didn’t have luggage carts at drop off and the blonde female employee didn’t help, just said it was too bad. Pros:The lady that was there May 25, 2019 in the evening was very rude. After treating us poorly she began by yelling at me for not cooperating. She had already sold our pre-contracted cars to people earlier in the day. Anyone in a position to let her go should. She is chasing business away!Cons:Not sold our car to customers earlier in the day to make a profit and then try to force less than desirable different cars on the customer for a greater price.Reviewed Jun 2 2019
