It was a nightmare. I booked a car for Hyannis MA and they booked me one in Nantucket. Trying to cancel on line did not work and it took many frustrating phone calls to finally get it cancelled and our money refunded. Fortunately our friends were able to pick us up in Hyannis so the lack of a car there wasn’t as bad as it might have been. I have no idea why they booked a car on Nantucket, Priceline could see I had plane reservations to Hyannis.Reviewed Oct 9 2021

Cons:I searched for a car rental pickup in Hyannis, MA. The search setting apparently also included rentals in Nantucket. So when I arrived to pick up the car, the car was not available in Hyannis. When I inquired, I learned my car rental pickup had been booked for Nantucket, a location I could not even get to without taking a ferry. Furthermore, my drop-off location was in NJ. So the notion that I was allowed to pickup a car on an island to be dropped off in NJ is absurd. This type of booking should not be allowed to even take place. Who would ever rent a car in Nantucket, pay to put a rental car on a ferry, then drop it off on the mainland. You need to put in booking restrictions against this type of reservation, so this does not occur in the future.Reviewed Oct 14 2020

Bad experiencePros:Cars are at airportCons:The first car was used by a smoker and then over sprayed with a cover smell so it was awful. We drove it just off the site and found the smell too objectionable to continue. I called the 800 number and Hertz arranged for me to trade in the car for another. We were told to be see the gas tank was full, so although we'd barely driven it, we did get gas and found we already needed gas! That indicated to us it probably wasn't really full at pickup. I complained when I turned in the replacement car and although they argued with me, they did give me credit for the cost of the gasoline. The price of the car was almost $100 a day, the same car had a rental agreement left by the previous renter and they paid much less. This experience was unlike our previous rentals at Hertz on Nantucket which have not been unpleasant.Reviewed Jun 11 2016
