Pros: Drop off at San Francisco international was very easy.
Cons: I would have liked an e acknowledgement of the car received in good state. No easy way to pay license plate scanner tolls. Since these are becoming common it would be nice to have a way for renters to pay up on return of car rather than later
Pros: Overall very good
Pros: it was a car that barely managed to get me from point a to point b.
Cons: i ordered a 4runner "or similar" from the airport; the car i got a nissan rogue, which is not similar at all, from a place 20 miles from the airport and cost another $45 to get there. first of all its a car chassis not a truck like the 4 runner, so clearance is very different in snow. it has 20% less storage capacity, so it was very cramped. the 4 wheel or supposedly all wheel drive didnt work except occasionally when engaged in stopped position and disengaged at 15 -25 miles/hr. worst of all the tires were not even legal with insufficient tread that nearly killed me and my family crossing nevada, for which i am considering a negligence claim.
Pros: Quick service from the Hertz group at North Salt Lake. No line and the rep helped identify if we qualified for any savings/discounts.
Cons: The car had some interior stains; not only is it gross, but was concerned that they may be attributed to my group since the only walk-through prior to leaving was around the exterior.
"Sorry we don't have any cars."
Pros: The manager of this Hertz outlet is a champion of customer service. It wasn't his fault I had to wait 2+ hours for the car I reserved online. He deserves a raise and promotion for suffering with humor and grace his own frustration at not being able to supply what was promised. He made an adjustment to my charges and return time which helped me feel better about the experience. And the car was a sweet little Kia.
Cons: No cars! Waited 2.5 hours to get a vehicle reserved at noon. Plus, the Hertz website shows this location as being in North Salt Lake when it really is in Bountiful, a fact that confounded the GPS and caused my shuttle driver to get lost. If I'd had any time constraints, these 2 failures could have been awful--- as in invoke the travel insurance awful.
Pros: The agent at Hertz was very patient and professional. He actually worked over time to make sure I got on my way.
Cons: I was not able to pick up the car at the airport. I almost missed getting the car as they closed at 5:30 and the taxi was barely able to get me there in time. We were so happy to get a car that we did not even care that they did not have time to clean it. In order to return the car I had to try several times to get the correct Hertz location as they had small shops next to auto body repair shops with similar addresses...and it was actually Bountiful, North Salt Lake. I called an Uber car and waited for a hour and a half. They never came. I called Ute Taxis and the driver laughed and said it was probably because they could not find the spot as it is actually a little town called Cross something or other. Switching pick up locations to something other than the airport was NOT okay. I will be careful to make sure this does not happen again!
Cons: When I went to the Hertz counter at the SLC airport they informed me that I had to pick up my car in Bountiful which is 30 minutes from the airport. Since I had no way to get there, I had to rent a car at the airport for an additional $72. Talk about bait and switch tactics. I will never use Kayak again to book anything.
No record of rental when I got to counter
Cons: They had no record of my reservation and tried to charge me $790 for the rental!
