Pros: Great location, fun vibe & activities, grand rooms, and almost all the staff members were extremely friendly and courteous.
Cons: I really was in shocked with how dirty this hotel is. When you walk in you expect nothing but an amazing experience. I first noticed the level of uncleanliness when we checked into our room. Walking into the room you were amazed by how grand and beautiful it was designed and put together. We walked over to the desk and night stands and there was layer of dust all over it. The baseboards were the same way. I thought maybe this room had not been used in a while. Then we went down to the lobby where there is a puzzle on the coffee table with the couches. It was full of crumbs and dirt. If the hotel had been slightly busy this would make sense but it wasn't nor did it appear to be fresh crumbs and grease marks. The next morning we had breakfast and the restaurant in the lobby. The hostess was very friendly, our waitress wasn't at first but she came around. There appears to be huge coffee spatters all over the wall on the left hand side of the restaurant. It's extremely noticeable and behind the booths that look directly at the kitchen again layers of dust. So sad to see an amazing hotel look this dirty. Just makes you wonder what else may be going on
The Kimpton Cardinal Hotel puts you within a 15-minute drive of Wake Forest University. Guests can visit the 24-hour fitness center for a workout or grab a bite to eat at The Katharine Brasserie, which serves French cuisine. A bar/lounge and free bike rentals are other highlights, and rooms at this luxurious hotel offer up nice touches like Frette Italian sheets and bathrobes.
Pros: The bathrooms were so clean and all of the snacks were amazing!
Pros: Everything in downtown and historic Winston-Salem was in walking distance.
The front desk associates that worked the evening of our check-in were so friendly and had excellent dining suggestions.
The room was amazing and had a great history. The decor was clean, fresh, and not cluttered.
The amenities in the bathroom were really nice too.
I cant wait to return.
Cons: NA- everything was great
Pros: Very good value. Great breakfast. Decor excellent. Very very friendly and helpful staff. Loved the adaptation of the old building.
Cons: When we raised the blinds to see the snow falling the windows were full of cobwebs and dead bugs. Horrible looking. Obviously had not been cleaned for a long time.
We FINALLY got a receipt for our bill but were initially told that the hotel could not tell us what we payed
Pros: The history, staff and breakfast was outstanding. We will be back to spend more time in the near future. Plan on sitting outside on the patio. Great relaxing atmosphere. A wedding here would be nothing less than spectacular.
Pros: physical charm of building, great location
Cons: tepid shower water afternoon through evening, no electricity after midnight, limited staff supervision to solve problems, safety issue of outer door propped open, and overfull, outdated electric strip within room

Cons: The pool was cold but the kids didn't care they enjoyed every bit of it.
Pros: CLEAN - CHECK CLERK EXTRA NICE - CHECK OUT PERSON NOT SO NICE
Cons: BED WAS TOO FIRM - BREAKFAST WAS NOT VERY GOOD
The overall of the hotel is 9.5 out of 10.
Pros: The room was very clean and the breakfast was good.
Cons: consistency of certain basic breakfast items. e.g.: there were eggs available one morning and no eggs the following morning but they has bacon and toast but no eggs to go with the toast and bacon.
Would definitely stay there again. Glad they had a nice pac-n-play for my daughter, which is much better than most hotel 'cribs'. Very clean rooms. Very nicely decorated rooms. The bathrooms could always stand to be bigger. The hallways were well insulated and quiet. I have three small kids and usually I can hear them down the hallways in other hotels. The breakfast area is very attractive, but the food was just like any other hotel. The pool was saltwater and heated, but there were no fresh towels for my morning swim and it didn't look like anyone had been down there to straighten up that area as there were old towels all strewn about. They had complimentary coffee with nice creamer in the lobby 24 hours, which was a nice treat when I returned late from visiting a friend. The hotel staff accommodated us but they were not very friendly. Other hotels I have stayed in acknowledge my children and smile a lot. This staff was just business. The beds were very comfortable. The water pressure was very nice. The fridge made some noise in the night, but it was not too bad. The a/c unit was very powerful and easily cooled the suite we stayed in. My kids broke something in the room during our stay and the hotel staff was understanding. Fine neighborhood, no concerns about parking area at all.
Pros: Very nice rooms! Very, very clean! Very nice breakfast area! Rooms well insulated so that you don't hear a bunch of noise and so my 3 kids didn't wake up the entire hotel. They had a very clean pac-n-play for my 12 month old daughter, which was great!
Cons: There were no fresh towels at the pool even though I asked about this before I went down for a swim. The breakfast area was nice but the food was mediocre. The hotel staff seemed cold and impersonal.
Room was very large. Beds were comfortable. Exercise room well equipped and clean. Location was great. Good variety offered for breakfast with actual fresh fruit, not canned. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for our needs.
Pros: Room was very large and very clean.
Cons: Room 316 directly across from elevator. People occassionally talked too loudly and could be heard clearly in the room.
Pros: Easy to find, common area was nice-looking, and room was very clean.
Convenient to highway, Wake Forest, good breakfast , great staff
Pros: Great staff, good breakfast, convenient to Wake Forest

Pros: The staff was so friendly and helpful with anything. The beds and bedding are really comfortable. The rooms let in little noise from outside.
Cons: There was an odd stain on one of the duevets and the bathtub could have been cleaned a little better. A lot of the HD tv channels didn't work. The bathroom doesn't have a fan.
Pros: The hotel was lovely. The front desk lady was so pleasant. The room was clean and updated. The bed was comfy with big fluffy covers. There were plenty of outlets and there were even USB ports. I like that this hotel had laundry facilities, too. There was a breakfast room and a nice grab and go sack breakfast. I would stay here again.
Cons: I can't think of anything that I didn't like.

Pros: The hotel was so fresh and clean! The shower was great, the beds were super comfortable, and 'Food Network' came in clearly. :) Breakfast was plentiful and good; coffee was delicious. Would stay here again without hesitation.
Pros: Travis, breakfast, clean, quiet, comfortable. This motel is a cut above the 2 1/2* competition. Most everything is well-thought-out, and well-managed. They are accomodating.
Cons: One flaw. Whoever designed the fridge/microwave/TV stand/dresser combination--all units glued together, must not have realized that because the TV too is glued in place--you can't see part of the TV from the left side of the room.
Pros: Great location! Staff was friendly and courteous. Hotel was clean and neat. I would want to stay there anytime I am in Winston -Salem.
Pros: Cleanliness, quiet and comfort of bed
Pros: Polite staff, concerned that our stay was good.
Pros: Hotel employee at the desk and the nice food reception lady were typical of the great staff. A first rate place--great TV, good breakfast, tasty evening chicken and other appetizers. Big enough room, good bed, desk on rollers. Convenient all around!
Cons: The air conditioner wasn't quite strong enough.
Pros: The clerk on duty was very helpful. When I arrived, I told him I needed a room with two beds, but all he had was I king. When I became a little upset over this issue, he stayed very calm and assured me he would notify me if there was any cancelations.
Cons: The only thing I did not like was the check-in area. It was right at the front door and we were continually moving so other guest could enter.
Pros: This was the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in 5 star hotels. The hotel is simple and unassuming, but the beds were very comfortable, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and quality, for the price.
Cons: It's not located in a great spot for walking to other places. But that didn't matter to me, as I was only there for one night on business.
Pros: It was a great experience no.
Cons: Getting into the hotel was a little tricky...the hotel was on a corner but there was not an entrance from the main street. Some signs directing you into the hotel would have been nice.
Pros: Excellent breakfast.
Pros: This hotel was conveniently located by the Mall and near the JDL Fast Track Venue. The breakfast was continental but was well stocked. It also had eggs and sausage. The room was larger than expected. It had a couch area and plenty of room around the beds
Cons: It was being renovated! There wasn't a work out room, no swimming pool, it was almost impossible to get in the building because of the construction. No wonder I got a good deal. Should have known.....

Pros: Good food close to the hotel and easy to find, very friendly staff and the pool and the hot tub were very clean and great for the kids

Pros: Healthy foods and gym
Cons: Internet connection with labtop
Completely adequate, nothing but pleasant. Great location for people visiting High Point University.
Pros: The price.
Cons: Staff, mainteance guy standing around front desk clerk viewing my information while checking in. I made a mistake with my credit card and it was originally declined and the maintenance guy stood there smirking when he should have been minding his own.

Pros: Good breakfast, clean rooms
Cons: Shower just dripped, not enough pressure
Pros: I like the location to the Hanes Mall - plenty of shops, restaurants, and things to do...
Cons: I did not like the fact that the sink area was in the room while the toliet and tube/shower were behind a door. The room was very tight. And, the door to the room allowed light from the hall way through the side and the bottom.
Pros: Booked a last minute hotel while road tripping. Great price, hotel looked to be recently renovated. Modern, clean lobby and rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Pros: Loved the elevtric fie place and the Jacuzzi type tube in the room. It turned bitter cold the days I was there and both helped gt warmed up.
Cons: I didn't ask for one, was just too tired, but there wasn't a blanket on my bed, just heavy sheets. I had to crank the heat up to get warm. But in all fairness, the weather hadn't turned cold until mid December, so a blanket really wasn't needed before.
Pros: Breakfast was not very good. Fire alarm went off at 12:30 am. Woke me up. Very very loud noise from rooms no one helped keep that down. Wrong information when bus service was to market. Staff was not helpful.
Cons: No. I did not like it at all and I really would have changed after the first night if I could.
Cons: Our room was a little worn; the walls could definitely use a good paint job.
Pros: The location was close to the freeway and airport without being too close with all the noise the freeway and airport can bring
Cons: The bath tub was a little weird. The drain wasn't keeping up with the water flow and the silicone was lifting as if water had got in there and was peeling it back. But that didn't really bother me. I loved the room!
Pros: Staff were amazing! Hospitality was A+.
Cons: Room was a little dirty in areas - pool was small, and had a slimy feel on the stairs and bottom.
Pros: We were made to feel like we were treasured guests.
Cons: The tub plug did not work, but it was no dealbreaker.
Pros: LOCATION, ROOM SIZE, BREAKFAST, WI FI!
Cons: very old sleep sofa &somewhat awkward location

Cons: They should spend more time cleaning to room and bathroom.
Pros: La Quinta Inn is close to the highway, close to shopping, close to restaurants. It is easy to spend a whole lot more nearby. Reasonably clean.
Cons: I didn't stay at La Quinta for the ambiance. HIt appears that they've made some effort to stay contemporary but it also appears that they've been doing so a piece at a time. Some things are current, some are dated. For the cash tough, not bad.
Cons: Heard people in the hallway. Families had kids and they were playing and crying. Also the elevator was very slow. Had to use the stairs. Had dingy carpets.
Pros: I liked the pool area and the comfortable beds. My boyfriend liked the breakfast buffet. I love that pets are welcome at no extra charge.
Cons: The dressers were broken and there was no mini fridge. Last time we stayed there was a mini fridge so it was a bit of an inconvenience. My daughter didn't like the breakfast options. I feel there should be more kid friendly options like pop tarts or breakfast bars. Toilet was loud.
