9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location and privacy. The view was wonderful. I was allowed to bring my dog.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kirk was informative and friendly. The evening fire pit was inviting and relaxing.
Cons: The scenic view and the easy access to things.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the views were great. also had campfire at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was extremely comfortable, roomy and updated nicely. The owner was super friendly and very accommodating if you had any need whatsoever, he was right there. You had a great view of the lake and mountains as it is perched on a hill. The location was great too (centrally located). Weirs Beach is just a short distance down at the bottom of the hill with a boardwalk & shops and boat tours of the Lake.
Cons: Price was a little high, but given the room was nicely updated, very comfortable and a good location - you get what you pay for. Looking at the lake straight ahead, the buildings below somewhat disrupted the view, but you could place your camera above the roof line and still get a great picture. Looking to the right, the views were pretty much unobstructed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, only a few minutes to the lake. A beautiful view from our cottage, and since it was fall, the colors were great. Had chairs that you could sit outside on the porch, there was also a grill if you wanted to cook for yourself.
Cons: Our GPS took us through lots of dark, black roads on a the rainy night we checked in, There was an easier way!! The gentlemen that checked us in was friendly enough, and luckily there was 2 more check ins after us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spacious clean room. Very friendly and warm owners who care for your comfort. Clean modern rooms with beautiful views.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.

Pros: We were gone for two weeks and this was by far the most beautiful room we stayed in. We just loved it. The room was so comfortable and inviting. When I come back to the city I want to stay there. It was very classy.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcome, lovely clean room and nice view.
Cons: No kettle, would like to have been able to make a cup of tea.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were well appointed and had everything we needed. The grounds were attractive but unfortunately a little to cold to sit outside and enjoy the view. Would stay here again if we come back to the area.
Cons: A little too far from any decent restaurants- hard driving in the dark to find them.
7.1 Good
Pros: The grounds had the most amazing fall flower gardens I have ever seen at a motel.
Cons: For the price paid the room was small for holding two queen size beds. The mattress that I slept on was rock hard and it had a crinkly waterproof mattress pad that only added to the discomfort.

Cons: The toilet & bathroom sink very low & water pressure low. Also air conditioner not clean. You could see dirt & cob webs on outside of air conditioner.

Pros: Location was excellent. Breakfast was adequate. Facility very clean.

Pros: Nice staff, very clean
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was clean and in a convenient location for our trip.
Cons: Hotel was short staffed on a Friday. No answer at front desk, and employee was frazzled. The bed was firm and uncomfortable. The coffee was not replenished without being asked twice - on a Saturday morning. Hotel pool was out of clean towels at 10:30am.

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: ok, nothing special
Cons: In the evening, when we returned to the room, the beds were not made, the room was untouched. Basically, the room was not cleaned. We were informed, after I called the front desk that the maid only cleans the room once every three days. Unacceptable and disgusting! Also the bed sheets had "pilling" and not comfortable to sleep in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything they are great!
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and the pool.
1.0 Poor
Cons: Stating pet friendly but really now
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The complimentary beverages (coffee, soda, hot chocolate, Whoopi pies, and popcorn).
7.7 Good
Pros: Overall, this Fireside is pretty good. The TV in the room is huge (maybe 55"-60") which was really nice. Staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was pretty good as far as continental breakfasts go. They have a pancake machine that is super cool and easy to use... one button push and, voila, you get two pancakes pretty quickly.
Cons: It does come across as a bit dated.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We were there for a wedding, it was close by, and rooms were very quiet! Staff was very pleasant.
Cons: Water was brown, had to run it for a while before it became clear.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable, Friendly Staff + spacious.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: for the price what was included in the room
Cons: dirty carpets
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location
Cons: Outdated rooms and moldy bathrooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very well kept facility.
Cons: Breakfast could be a bit better.
5.0 Okay
Pros: convenient location
Cons: Yes, I arrived at 3:30 and they informed me I could not check in early. If I wanted my key I needed to pay an additional $20. This I found absurd. So, the room was not ready, but actually it was if I paid more money. Not the best hospitable experience!

7.1 Good
Pros: The view was beautiful! It was so peaceful, which is a nice change for a city girl.
Cons: The only thing I did not like was that everything was old and out of date, and there wasn't an iron in the room. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay there.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view from my room was amazing and the whole area was fun to drive around. Plenty of hiking opportunities.
Cons: No breakfast. I'm pretty sure the fridge in my room was haunted (super loud).
7.9 Good
Pros: Position and bedroom
Cons: Kitchen and bathroom too old
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view from the lakefront rooms is amazing!! You could actually hear the water lapping at the shoreline. The staff is also super friendly. Looking forward to returning sometime soon!
Cons: The rooms are rustic, and the bathrooms lakefront could use some updating. Otherwise, it was an excellent stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The check in guy was lovely. The room was wonderful, especially the view for sunset and sunrise over the lake. Good price considering the location.
Cons: No breakfast option and the hot drink station is outside of the rooms (not the end of the world by any means)
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: No breakfast. The room was clean enough. The only positive thing.
Cons: Only thing provided was towels. It was more like a room on a lake and bring your own everything. No breakfast. Hard to find at night. Gps took us down a dark road to find it. It was also mostly deserted. We only saw one other guest. Kind of unsettling.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view
Cons: Ladybugs in room

5.1 Okay
Pros: It was right on the lake which was nice, there was a bar/restaurant on the water, and fire pits to enjoy on a small beach. The landscaping was pretty and well kept. Plenty of parking as well.
Cons: Hotel public areas and the Room were extremely out dated. Furniture, rugs, bathroom were in poor condition, and hasn’t been updated in 30 years. Formica counter in the bathroom was peeling off, door knobs so old they were pitted and rusted. The sliding door to outside didn’t open, which completely defeats the purpose of paying for a lake view room. Small, loud ac unit in the room was the only source of air. It was way over-priced.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolute attention to clients! Check out the game room at night, it’s like walking through the halls of the Shining!
Cons: Everything was great!
7.5 Good
Pros: Good sized rooms. Clean.
Cons: The breakfast included in room rate is just very basic continental style. Hot breakfast available at $8pp per night.
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice view and facilities
Cons: The AC was very very noicy and actually kept met awake through the night. It kicks in every few minutes.
5.0 Okay
Pros: breakfast was fine and we love the location
Cons: We have been going for years and find the facility could use some updating. There was construction going on which didn't really affect our stay. The hot tub was out of order. I had to use a band-aid on a scratched on my arm I received on a broken piece of laminate on the bathroom counter. We were disappointed some what on our stay due to the condition of the Margate's room. In the future we may look for another resort.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: No
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the view of the lake
Cons: no
5.0 Okay
Cons: Felt like a bait and switch hotel. The description and pictures indicate the hotel is on the water...NO mention that there is a second building ACROSS the street. Ridiculous. Mediocre everything, would not stay there again.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was fine, but I was placed at the Inn across from the lake.
Cons: The location was not lakeside, but the prices seemed a little high for the location.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: Bar and boat docks by swimming beach.Water was dirty. Not kid friendly beach area.Came for the lake.Posted fireworks on sign when I checked in Saturday.Kids stayed up eagerly til 10. Went to front desk & were told (nicely) that they were "last night".
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I love the location, the beach, the lake view and indoor pool and spa.
Cons: The buildings are in need of a little refreshing.
7.0 Good
Pros: The dock restaurant bar
Cons: It was under construction and I wasn't told while booking

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, quiet hotel. Beds and pillows comfortable. King room with sofa gave us plenty of room. Hotel was very convenient to to Pumpkinfest and lakes activities.
Cons: Breakfast-very dried scrambled eggs and machine coffee
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the staff is wonderful! anyone we dealt with was very professional, accommodating, and just friendly. The room was very clean (I am pretty picky with hotels and this one exceeded my expectations). Also, great location there was a lot to do in the area and surrounding cities. I recommend this hotel to all
Cons: No complaints
7.9 Good
Pros: Nearly new hotel, good location with excellent parking. Proper bathroom with decent glazed shower enclosure which worked well. Beds were comfortable, though would be much better with proper duvets rather than antiquated sheets and blankets.
Cons: One of the two rooms allocated on arrival turned out not to have been serviced, entailing a trip back to Reception to get it sorted out. Issue handled well by manager and another room was quickly organised. However should not have happened in the first place ! Breakfast was dissapointing. The breakfast room was very basic and available foods of fairly poor quality. 'Coffee' was just hot brown coloured water. Cereals were far too sweet and there were only two tiny pots of yoghurt available. We tried the pancake and waffle options - same dough mix for both and was inedible and cloying. Not eco-friendly - all disposable - plastic coated paper plates and bowls and single-use plastic cutlery. Very poor.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Dirty and used shampoo bottles
Cons: Most of it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lady at the front desk. I didn't get hr name. She was working the afternoon and evening of October 17th. Outstanding at customer service.
Cons: nope
1.0 Poor
Cons: Everything was under construction All the carpets had nasty looking stains
4.0 Okay
Pros: The staff was kind.
Cons: The hotel was under construction and we were woken up at 8am to workers banging right outside our window, we were on 7th floor. It was also labor day so I'm not sure why they were doing work that day. our room was not ready at check in, 3pm. Not clea
7.1 Good
Cons: It would have been nice to use the pool. However it was down for service so I guess that can't be helped it has to be done at somepoint.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, airy room, staff very good breakfast was a real pleasant surprise
Cons: Only minus furniture a little short
1.0 Poor
Pros: The toilet worked and there was hot water
Cons: This hotel is under construction. Not minor. MAJOR. The room had many issues with non-functional devices, eg lamps not working, shower not working. It smelled bad. It is a shame the owners decided to let greed overrule a good customer experience.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Loud area. Seedy people walking around outside entrance and in hallways til 3 AM! No hot water! No drinking water throughout the hotel for guests. Vending machines unplugged or empty. Broken lock on door looks like a raid happened in the room at some time. Front desk said I could walk to a gas station to get water. Felt like a third world country stay.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Leaving it
Cons: Everything! It was dirty and lack of pride in their work.
Gunstock Inn & Resort - Gilford - Building

7.7 Good (339 reviews)

4.0 Okay
Pros: The restaurant on site had a live pianist while we ate dinner.
Cons: I didn't realize that the beds were 'Grandma's old 4-post' type of bed. Very uncomfortable. I got the creeps just getting to the pool. Very odd and creepy layout. The 'pool' towels were left over mismatch old beach towels in a random closet in basemnt
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Close to concert venue
Cons: Dated, dirty, smelled, holes in screen, hair in sink, (not ours). Not what I expected for the price or star rating.
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast had a variety of packaged foods. The bathroom was nice and bright, and newly remodeled. The room was clean. We enjoyed the big, homey lobby. The seating was comfortable, and the books and games were nice to have. There were tables to eat breakfast at, or to play a game. The gym was very nice. I think the owners are trying to rejuvenate this hotel, and they're going in the right direction.
Cons: The furniture was mismatched, and old, but this wasn't a biggie. The shower was a bit tricky to get going, and the spray needs some adjustment. The bed was wrinkled--my first thought was that the linens hadn't been changed. The heat was on when we entered the room, and it was too warm. We turned it off but couldn't get the AC to work, and we couldn't open the windows.
4.2 Okay
Pros: na
Cons: first room was awful but they upgraded us
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel was beautiful and quaint. The view spectacular!
Cons: The restaurant was understaffed. Poor communication with the kitchen and wait staff. The good was delicious but considering there were only a couple active eating tables we shouldn't have had to wait close to an hour and a half for our meal. Salad was never brought out. No dinner rolls. The waitress was fairly clueless. We got free dessert but that didn't really make up for the poor service.
7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent restaurant and bar, good gym and swimming pool that acts as a facility for the local community.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view from the lobby/breakfast area was gorgeous! The location was great too. The rustic touches in the room were cool.
Cons: The lighting in our room was a little odd, with no light near one side of the bed. The light switch for the bathroom was outside the door, and the fan came on with the light (not so fun in the middle of the night!). We had a window that faced the sky so we had no view. :-(
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a great room. Big and plenty room. This was one of the nicest looking room I have stayed in. Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: From the master bed it was hard to see the TV with the post being in the way.
7.1 Good
Pros: Needed a place for 2 nights while my Condo was being prepared. found this off season for a very reasonable price. Good restaurant and pool/gym.
Cons: Very small room. Not even a desk to work on.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was in a good location for exploring Weirs Beach and Gilford.
Cons: The continental breakfast was meagre, and on our first morning almost non-existent. There wasn't even enough cutlery and crockery for the few guests wanting breakfast early in the morning, so one lady offered me her used plate and cutlery, which I graciously declined!
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Large room
Cons: Run down, old, dirty. No redeeming qualities at all. Wanted to leave immediately but stayed because we prepaid and knew we wouldn't get our money back.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: staff was wonderful and friendly. Inn was beautiful, quaint and decorated like a home, not a hotel, very comfy. Location was perched on a hill with a breathtaking views.
Cons: Continental breakfast was fine, but laid out in a narrow alley that could serve only one person at a time.

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: No heat at all! Had to turn oven on and keep door open to heat the place! No hot water at all! Called to office 4 different times to get them to fix the water and heat! He told me if I called again they were going to call the cops and have us removed from the propertie! For paying $150.00 it was not worth it at all. Horrible customer service. I could've stayed in a run down roach motel played $40.00 and have heat & or water!!!!
Cons: No heat no hot water horrible customer service
5.8 Okay
Pros: Cute building, good location.
Cons: Cold! No heat, though the space heaters let us keep 2 rooms warm , it was hard to get a comfortable temp. Nothing was comfortable- pillows were awful, couch and chair were rock hard. So while it was cute and clean , there was zero attention to comfort at all.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The beds were confortable. Room was clean.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The cottage was nice for the price. It had a bathroom and a decent bed, along with fridge and microwave.
Cons: There wasn't too much wrong with the cottage. If there was one thing I had to choose it would be that the sheets had a weird stain on them.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, comfort
Cons: All good
7.9 Good
Pros: The check in and check out was easy and man was polite
Cons: I thot price was high for standard room
6.0 Good
Pros: Location was excellent for Dinner Cruise on Mt Washington at the pier. Could walk too and from event with no problems. Room was clean and comfortable for a Motel. Nothing fancy.
Cons: No staff in office. Sign says to call to be let in or ring bell if no phone. Rang bell - they tell you to call! Great! I have an old phone, not great hearing and would have been nice to be able to talk in person to someone in office rather than some unknown person at some unknown location. Wanted to ask about breakfast places in area; but, when you don't know where the heck the person is that's giving you info is located - doesn't make much sense. We got our keys and it was very impersonal. Woman was very nice on phone and I could hear; but, didn't give me any warm and fuzzy feeling if I had problems at all. Convenient for cruise; but, would find a different place in future if not needed for that. One where someone was willing to meet and greet me!
7.1 Good
Pros: great cabin except beds being uncomfortable.
Cons: beds were uncomfortable
8.2 Excellent
Pros: We really liked the location and also that they had so many cottages that we are thinking of going up with a group of friends. I would recommend it for it's value.
Cons: The thing I didn't like was the bathroom was outdated and there was no place to put your toiletries. Also I felt like the toilet was coming off the wall.

Pros: We were gone for two weeks and this was by far the most beautiful room we stayed in. We just loved it. The room was so comfortable and inviting. When I come back to the city I want to stay there. It was very classy.
Cons: Parking was a couple blocks away but I guess that's to be expected in the city. Also, I do not believe the pictures online gave the room Justice.

Pros: Exceptional comfort, delightful location and a very warm welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is just a few minutes drive to Weirs beach, the drive in theater and many other fun attractions. Owner is super friendly. Their setting is beautiful and overlooks the bay; hence, the name. Would definitely go back.
Cons: It is an older motor inn, but the rooms have everything needed to be comfortable. No complaints!

Pros: Perfect for our situation...would stay again!
Cons: Nothing to report
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a business trip so I normally stay at a hotel. This was something different for me but room was clean and homey. Most important it was very quiet allowing for a solid night's sleep! Very nice view of the lake!

Pros: Friendly staff, clean, great location
