A family run B&B in an excellent location for the town centre and the station if arriving by train. Breakfast very good, if slightly on the small side if hungry. Rooms in need of updating but are very clean and comfortable. Loads of free parking.
Freindly staff. Clean Rooms. Good location
The breakfast was fabulous, I had a job to finish it there was that much. Not being in the main building.
Beds and other room furniture fine, water hot, towels and soap clean and replaced as necessary and breakfasts good. Heating in room failed, and though we were given a fan heater this was not really satisfactory and we were not offered an alternative room.
Peace and Quite nothing
Friendly welcome and attentiveness Carpet in the bathroom
Staff very friendly Breakfast only average
Very clean and modern and centrally located. Staff very helpful and pleasant.
Very friendly, handy for town None
i had booked a twin room on a lower floor. We were given the family room on the ground floor at the same price as the twin. Excellent! Lady that booked us in could have been more welcoming.
Excellent supply of pastries, biscuits, coffee, fruit and daily newspapers throughout the day. Staff all very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast excellent. Obviously set up for conference events and did not really cater for non- business guests. Only 10 guests the weekend we stayed and hotel was too quiet at times. Bar food was adequate, but some listed menu's not available.
Central location The hotel is desperately in need of refurbishment.
Very friendly staff, good breakfast,
location Bit grubby. Wireless internet stopped working just when I needed to do some work.
The Lansdowne Hotel is a good family run Hotel with a good central locatoin.
It was clean comfortable and pleasant. The breakfast was adequate, but the bacon could have been more and the sauage was rather small, instead of two eggs you could put another slice of bacon.
Charming room, good value nothing
Excllent central location, comfortable room, friendly staff. Nothing
Friendly staff. Excellent central position in Leamington Spa. Nothing
Friendly atmosphere, efficient service-bottled water offered, nice touch. Parking limited decor showing it's age
The staff were very helpful and willing (I am disabled) None
Freindly Staff Value for money size of room no bath
ease of access to rail station & airport & NEC facilities. The staff were very helpful & polite. Would definately use this hotel again.
The public areas were very welcoming, the restaurant was very good and the staff were very helpful. The coldness of the breakfast room which was almost next to the front door.
Good food and good service Warm, ac would be a benefit
Easy access to NEC site The decor is a bit "tired" although I appreciate the hotel is well used 24/7
Hotel room had a strong smokey smell to it even thogh a non smoking hotel
Polite and helpful staff Tv to complecated
Efficient and friendly Staff Very good pool and liesure set up Room a little basic - very little toiletries and no biscuits with the coffee/tea making facilities
The hotel was comfortable When we entered the room it was freezing. There was no instuctions on how to use the heating/cooling system. We booked an early morning call for 7am, this was not forthcoming and as a result were later than expected for an engagement. When this was pointed out to reception at checkout all that was offered was 'sorry' I feel we should have been offered maybe a free breakfast as compensation.
The staff were very helpfull and the location being close to the NEC The hairdryer in our room did not work.
Good value at £59 but not if if it was dearer Standards have slipped in last 3 years Breakfast not so good No biscuits in rooms Had the nerve to charge residents to park there!
helpfull staff, good food, easy parking no
No draught beer
Lobby bar, reception service. No service at breakfast, cold plates, had to ask twice for tea, then had to get own cups, knifed forks ect... Off other tables, in view of waiters who did or said nothing. Room smelt damp and looked a little dated.
Food okay Reception - bloody slow. Bar - cold and slow servioce.
Good price, in a good location, it had very comfortable beds and pillows, nice fire in the bar. Buffet breakfast not great, the food was served too cold. And the temperature in the bar was too cold also.
We were close to the NEC (attending Crufts) Hotel easy to find, we were made welcome - no charge for our dog, (unlike most hotels/travel lodges). Breakfast delicious and service excellent! Had slight problem with leak on shower attachment (got soaked!) and bath taps a bit strange.
Excellent value for money on the price we paid. Plenty of available car parking space. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location to Birmingham and walking distance to Touchwood shopping centre. Good breakfast and leisure centre. Its was cold. Very cold in the corridors and room was cold, as the heating system was not working. Vector heaters had already been given out, but extra blankets were delivered to our room very promptly. Only heating in the room was the bathrooms towel rail.
The relaxed atmosphere and friendliness of staff.
Very friendly, efficient staff. Location is a bit out of the way.
The room, the convenience to various places, parking.
Not enough staff, reception unmanned for 10 minutes on arrival as staff were elsewhere. Smoking room provided having requested non-smoking - the room stank. The room wasn't ready until 45minutes after my arrival at 2005hrs.
Facilities were very good and the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was a good size for a family of four
Staff most obliging
clean and bright not enough staff in the restaurant in the evening to cope with the demand, we walked out after waiting 15 min for a pre booked table while there were empty tables.
Comfortable beds Awful smell in the room throughout the stay (smell of sewage and ammonia) and finding broken glass on the bedside table - staff did not offer any money off the bill or any kind of compensation for this but were very apologetic. Dirty cups at breakfast, lukewarm breakfast items and stale pastries.
excellent location for surrounding areas of interest
Complimentary newspaper Excellent buffet breakfast Traffic noise from nearby road Limited storage space in the room
Nice hotel close to town
Any issues were ironed out quite quickly.
the room was nice modren and clean the breakfast was terrible, dirty crockery on the breakfast table, dirty milk, no orange juice
cleanliness noisy cars @ the streat beside the hotel
Cleanliness of the room and restaurant The stairs. Lift badly needed. Stairs very narrow
CClean bed only. I left a book in my room and despite 2 calls I am still waiting.f for a call back.o We were located at the very top of the hotel. Even though I had emailed booking.com to say I had some who had a recent operation and walkingg was difficult!
The location was noisy, room was tiny and being at the very top was not at all convenient for luggage especially as the landing light did not exist.
helpful owner and staff grumpy neighbour
Not much, however that is no reflection on staff or the hotel it was my problem as my wofe died 4 weeks ago and it was the first time staying in a hotel on my own for 37 years which was a desperate experience in itself. Being right at the top of the hotel effectively 3 flights of stairs up
Very good location. Clean and comfortable room. The hotel doesn't provide car parking, though there's one nearby that's free from 6pm - 8am. Cooked breakfasts cost extra.
location, near railway station and town centre no lift and you have to pay for a cooked breakfast
Breakfast was good - not too greasy. The music at breakfast was a little strange - drum and bass at some points!
Revamped decor and staff response. Bar menu was good in terms of quality, range and interest Use of external music speakers adjacent to bedrooms
We thought the food was excellent and well presented. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the hotel was warm, confortable and inviting. It was also well placed in the town for walking. There were four of us and we would all stay again and recommend it to our friends. I didn't find anything I didn't like nor did my companions.
Central and quite position in the town. The parking was a good bonus.
It was fairly quiet ant the town was in easy walking distance I did not like the lack of space in the bedroom or bathroom
The food service was enterprising and not "standard English". The receptionist was very pleasant and efficient. There was a party going on late one evening, and our first room was a bit shoddy (we were moved).
Staff in all depts. great. Lovely restaurant, enjoyed the menu & music. Walk away from city centre. No Lift. Very low futton style bed in my particular room.
location in town centre hot stuffy room view of dirty wall and pipes strong smell of cooking as room over kitchen woken at 3,00 am by kitchen sounds of emptying of dishwasher! 'free for all' at breakfast not enough seats for everyone
The friendly staff My room was a cave - but I think thats why I got the reduced price?
Handy for town centre yet on a quiet street
The staff were excellent and the food good Having to pay £3 per day for car parking
The staff were very helpful Food in restaurant was not hot enough
Hotel very modern and convenient to racecourse . Guest ares clean and spacious. Some confusion regarding car park charging for overnight guests and food expensive
Food was excellent. room was very clean and the staff very friendly Nothing we didnt like
Staff, decor, room lighting, bar snacks, checkout, Price of food and drinks,
expensive to stay. Unacceptable to have to pay £5 per night for car parking and £18 for internet access. In the Far East these would all be Free for Guests. would not stay again because of this. (Also £3.95 for a bottle of water in your room./ Outrageous!!
Clean, comfortable, style of furnishing. professional staff who were well trained and efficient. Car Parking Charges Limited food choice in the main restaurant, buffet style did not like, good starters but main course is not to my liking in terms of quality
rooms need updating
It was extremely comfortable and peaceful. The service and choice at breakfast was great. A pleasant stay. Changing facilities were a little cramped in the leisure area.
This hotel amazed me and my friend when we stayed for one night. The facillities were more like a 5* rating, very large room with large plasma tv's. We spent afew hour in the spa to relax, afew drinks by the fire in the bar and found that the buffet breakfast was fantastic. We will certainly be booking here again for next year the room price was unbeatable in the area. nothing at all.
Nice hotel good food, nice bar. My top floor room had no cold water in the morning
Excellent food served by charming staff The rooms were very hot becuase it was not possible to open the window fully. This made sleeping rather difficult.
Access to gym, pool and spa facilities.
Breakfast & Dinner very good Good hairdryer in useful position No drawers in room
thee relaxed atmosphere
Great value, clean and well equipped rooms, excellent restaurant and bars. Welcoming reception staff
the room the arrangements at breakfast
Very comfortable hotel and extremly attentive staff - would definately book again Breakfast great but evening meals very expensive and only one meal choice for vegetarians !!!
Friendly staff, good food, and nice indoor pool.
The staff are very friendly and professional Not all of the rooms are of the same level of comfort and quality however the staff are responsive to issues raised and are happy to move you to another one
Waiting staff at breakfast were very nice and efficient The hotel had no room service or dining facilities to offer, this was not advertised on the website at the time of booking. The room was at best fair, dirty walls and stained bed linen. The lobby area had peeling wallpaper and appeared generally unclean. I have stayed in many hotels and this was at best pretty poor in comparison. I would rate this hotel as a 2 star.
I did not like the fact that one of the rooms I booked was upgraded and had the same style room as we had and paid less. Also there were no robes in the room as stipulated.
clean and friendly poor view from room
The decor, comfortable bed and sky tv. The taxi firm the staff used was more expensive than the one we used to get back to the hotel.
Caterig staff were very friendly The hotel looked tired and in need of refurbishment. The window in my room would not shut properly
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very quiet despite the central location (traffic/promximity to local bars).
everything was like i would of expected it to be
Polite Staff and fast room service which provided hot food. lack of smoking rooms even though booking.com gives you this option.
We stayed here when dropping our son off at Warwick Uni. Very convenient for uni, and nice part of the world. Hotel is small but rooms are clean and well designed and restaurant is good. Particularly found the staff professional and relaxed. A good team. We have already booked our return.
High quality feel to the room, quality textiles and linen. Excellent bed. Food first class. Will definately stay again. Although my room was beutifully finnished it was rather small - room 26. Brealfast service a little casual.
Great on-site restaurant Parking behind hotel is difficult to find on arrival and has narrow spaces
The superb resraurant with excellent service and value I have none
Comfortable bed, good breakfast.
Absolutely superb idea mixing the hotel with a Loch Fyne restaurant. Excellent evening meal and superb kippers for breakfast. Couldn't believe some people were having bacon and eggs! Can't think of any.
Excellent room, clean, comfortable. Modern but plenty of character. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food, dinner and breakfast. Not enough milk with tea-making kit. Motion detector in bathroom needs to be more sensitive to prevent blackouts. Don't need "muzak" at breakfast!
Beautiful characteristic building, clean modern bedrooms, polite and helpful staff, great seafood restaurant, very close to Kenilworth Castle, close to many other great bars, restaurants and pubs. I eventually had to leave.
The hotel is ideally situated for my needs. It is pleasant, comfortable and quiet. Only a small point but it would be nice to be able to switch off the bedside lamp with a switch on the lamp rather than having to reach through the bedside table and switch off the power from the socket.
After check in, my husband had to leave the hotel to meet some of his family. I was left in the room alone. It was during this time that a maintenance man knocked on the door. I found this to be strange as no one had said anything to us when we checked in and there were not any problems with the room / facilities. When I questioned him why he wanted access to our room he became incredibly cagey and nervious and said he would call back later and left as quickly as possible. he was not in any kind of uniform / had any id.
Quiet, except at breakfast time and in the restaurant. The televisions in public places had the sound off, for the most part. Meals available without having to go out. Essential as there was nowhere close enough to walk to. Use of a decent length swiming pool. In a handy location for my meeting. Cleaning and hovering whilst having breakfast. Showerhead only operating on a few jets. Poor lighting and high sound levels in the restaurant (not helped by the background musak). In answering 'yes' to the next question, that is a 'maybe'; it depends on the alternatives next time I have to spend a night in the vicinity. Small portions and bread or potatoes only supplied as an extra. In adequate warning of the credit card charge on the booking page and the amount was not included when asked to confirm on check-out on the website. The first I knew about it was when checking in at the hotel an saw and extra £2 on top of what I thought the room rate was. Television screens everywhere, tuned to different channels, are distracting. Nobody seemed to be looking at them, so do we need them ?
Very welcoming. Staff helpful and friendly. Hotel very clean and comfortable. Facilities excellent. None
relaxing in plasant surroundings-allways enjoy use of facillities...good location for local attractions etc
We loved the hotel and the room - talk about comfy! Disappointed with the onsite pub but verve was outstanding. The onsite pub food.
The room was very comfortable, staff were well trained, helpful, polite and cheerful. The restaurant was first class and parking was plentiful and convenient. The location was a little sterile (middle of a commercial estate) but overall - excellent. The thing I liked least was that there was only one lft, but in truth it wasn't a problem, just a little surprising.
The parking was free. Restaurant staff very attentive. Good breakfast. There were no toiletries in the room and when we asked for some soap, we were told that they were not supplied, but there was a soap dispenser in the shower. This entailled climbing into the bath to get to it but was empty anyway. Had we known this when we booked, we would have brought our own soap - so be warned. We had booked a meal deal which was advertised as a 'free meal on the first night'. It turned out not to be free. We were given vouchers which paid for some of it, but had to make up the difference with cash. Reception staff were not very helpful.
Friendly helpful staff First room that I occupied, the heating was not functioning. After checking by staff I was moved to another room. Negative followed by a positive
Great hotel Should be 5 star
We enjoyed the starbuck in the hotel, gym facilities were good. Staff on reception were helpfull, trying to book us in early but in the end had no twin available until the normal check in. The locker in the gym would not open, the key was stuck, we waited over 10 mins for assistant. In the end we managed to open our selves and didn't see any member of staff. So they would have left us for over 20mins sitting in a towel in the changing room. No hairdryer in the bedroom, on requesting this at the reception we still waited over 20min, so agian delaying us for our breakfast. Seating in the bar area was stained and at the breakfast area.
