I enjoyed my stay at The Hampton Inn. A bit more cost than average for a room but cleanliness and service made up for it. It would be an excellent stay if it were a little less expensive.
The staff was very friendly & helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast but sadly didn't have time to use the pool. The room layout was eye catching but when I had to get up several hours ahead of my husband it was inconvenient. Except for the mirror in the entry way the room was clean & comfortable.
Very clean with an excellent staff!
Nice room, comfortable bed. It was busy, several hockey teams staying, but quiet. Great breakfast selection.
Very nice hotel. Great pool and hot tub. Loved the waffle bar at breakfast. Hotel was a little out of the way. That was my only complaint.

Nice staff, quiet 11:00 am checkout stinks
They had a wonderful breakfast room and good selections. The staff kept it well supplied.

Location for our specific needs. Check-in time for the hotel was 3 PM. We arrived after 3 PM and the room was not ready. I asked if they could assign us another room and they offered a room on the smoking floor, we are non-smokers so that was not acceptable. We had to leave and return.
Ftiendlyness of the staff, room size. Like everything about the hotel.
The staff was great and the room was very clean.
Everything Issues checking in
We liked that it's close to the freeway -- easy on, easy off. And we really loved the breakfast in the morning -- so much better than a hotel's standard continental breakfast. Was a beautiful, luxurious little getaway for our little family (2 adults and a little baby).
Once you check in, you may not want to leave until check out. Everything under one roof is provided. We were greeted in a friendly manner. Very nice atmosphere in the lobby and center courtyard. While a free shuttle was advertised, it had been booked by a whole company for 2 hours in the early morning. a little frustrating, but the staff did suggest alternate transportation (Uber) and that did get me to where I needed to go. The opportunity to eat a complimentary light snack and beverage was appreciated after the stressful I94 drive Corky's Pub was good food at a fair price, fast and efficient wait staff. Made to Order breakfast was wonderful from 6-9 am! Wonderful Chef! PARKING $$$ While absolutely no fault of the hotel, the construction mess around the Capitol is very stressful. People drive too fast and a bit rudely. Be prepared and drive attentively. Not enough parking, It is quite expensive to park around this area.$15/day in the hotel lot for registered guests. Arrive early to get a spot.
Needed to be close to the hospital. Daughter was very ill. Didn't know how long we needed to stay. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Would recommend this establishment. Comfortable, clean rooms. Laundry available. Food was excellent. Thank you!
We like to stay at the Embassy because we like the made to order breakfast and the managers reception. The rooms are large and comfortable. We will return next year! My only complaint is that they give you only one wash cloth.
Staff was great. Rooms were very nice. Breakfast was great too. Great value.
Very nice hotel, large rooms, fantastic included breakfast. The only downside was the highway traffic noise, which was inescapable. Request a room that doesn't face the freeway.
I like that there are water features, glass evelators, lots of plants, and a nice dining area. Also there is a nice workout room.
Central location for the events and activities we attended. Expensive
Convenience to Wilkins auditorium It was not as nice as I expected. The room was average. Bedding average hard bed.
Everything in the hotel is beautiful and tasteful. Our room was great, bed was comfortable, loved the robes. One of the elevators was out of order, we mostly used the service elevators to get up and down. We were not particularly impressed with the staff. They were adequate, not really cordial. Pokemon players outside at night were creepy.
Beautifully maintained historic hotel in quiet downtown St Paul. Very clean and quiet rooms Need a regular fridge and expensive snacks.
The St Paul is a wonderful hotel experience. Every detail has been attended to. You won't find a friendlier staff any where and they are very willing to help you out. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I found nothing to complain about.
Historic elegance No
Great location when attending an event at the Excel Center.
Very friendly staff. Top-notch accommodations. Excellent location in the heart of St. Paul.
You can see they put thought and effort into the decor. The beds were very comfortable.. The staff was very helpful and it was obvious they care about what they do. We especially appreciated help from Lori at the front desk. She got us information about an event in Milwaukee and then found a detailed map of that area, showing one-way roads. She was even able to tell us how much parking was going to cost. The hotel is a great value. We would definitely stay there again.
Quiet, convenient location. Room not ready when we arrived at 1 pm, told to come back a hour later. Came back one hour later and waited at the front desk for 25 minutes for the front desk clerk to come back. Sign on desk said, "helping a guest, be back soon" Really, leave the front desk unattended for that long!. Also, 4 person in room, 2 adults, 2 kids, only towels for 3. So much for their "Strive for 5*" motto on everyone's uniform. Left two messages on manager's voice mail, no call back.
Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Wifi was good, and was always connected for working. Dining area was clean and had ample room along with charging stations at each table for phones. Poor breakfast (microwaved eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy). No exercise room or amenities. Worst part: there were ants in the bathroom.
They are not done setting up the business. The sauna is under construction and they will have a breakfast once that is arranged for.
Great location. Friendly staff. Nice size room We were in town for a funeral and were only in the room to sleep. The bed was too soft and loud.
I liked everything about everything was in the area that we needed and are family was also!
Lot of space in the room My sink get stopped up
The rooms were very nice. It was a good location and central to all of our needs. They have a beautiful commons area in the works, and I can't wait to go back and see the finished product. Unsecured entrance that anyone could come in and out of the building without the use of their room card.
Location was great for our event, accommodations were very nice and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Can't think of a thing!
I love the fact that you use an actual key to get in your room. I love how classy it is yet simple and humble. The view of downtown St Paul is amazing. you are right outside of the lightrail which is very convenient if ur flying or taking the bus. oh yeah and the man I brought. That was the best part! The free breakfast was free for a reason. soft boiled eggs or boiled. The waffle tasted old. fruit was frozen and not fresh. So as it thawed it wilted.
The old world feel about the place. Attentive staff. Exercise facilities. Reasonable cost.
Charming Hotel! Beautiful, romantic atmosphere. Multiple lounges with plenty of space to hang out. I had a king delux, with 2 beds, and 2 bathrooms! The beds were really comfortable, and the full kitchenette was much appreciated. The gym and pool were top notch (St Paul Athletic club) The free breakfast was great. Location is 4 blocks to Excel center or Science museum. The window blinds were not enough to fully darken the room, I would have appreciated curtins too.
Updated room Very clean Free coffee and water Parking not included
The room - spacious with nice TV, and love the hardwood floors The lobby area - beautiful architecture, comfy chairs The staff - not very helpful, couldn't suggest places to go eat other than "go to Minneapolis - there's nothing good here" Shower - very small Location - granted it was a Thursday, but the hotel felt dead and there was no one at the bar, so staff from the front desk would walk over to the bar to serve people as they came up, and when we finally tried to go out every place nearby was closed or practically empty
It was very quiet and we slept quite well We would have preferred 2 Queen beds instead of a king. We asked for 2 queens when we booked but did not get them.
Beautiful and comfortable accommodations. Nothing. It was very nice.
Friendly staff, nice hotel. I like nice hotels and this is one. Only noteworthy problem was that I found a pile of a previous guest's clothes in the closet. The pillows were kinda strangely designed and I'm not sure if it was comfortable because I was exhausted, but slept well.
Friendly staff Clean bathroom Good price Starbucks Workout room Nice pillows Side entrances closer to rooms Wrinkly, questionable linens Thin walls Long dark hallways Shared microwave in the hallway
Clean and very comfortable. Hotel staff was excellent and very accommodating. Room was excellent. Restaurant was experience was lacking. Ate breakfast two days. Under staffed. Buffet breakfast was scarce on day one. Restaurant opened late on day two and was again under staffed.
Very clean rooms and beds were comfortable. We had a newly renovated room, it was small but very nice with a lovely view of the river. Good location. Staff was helpful. The cost of the room was more than I'd ever paid. I was also under the impression that the parking fee was included in the price of the room, which was not the case.
We were given an updated room. While generally nice it was a bit cramped with two queen beds. The staff were friendly overall. A bit cramped even though it was a updated room. While the staff was generally friendly, getting someone to answer a phone at the front desk and the Valet was slow and frustrating.
I loved the modern look of the hotel. The bedding was of good quality, which is a huge plus for me! We had a beautiful view of the river from our room. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to Xcel Energy Centre, which was our destination, so I liked the proximity of the hotel to the venue. Overall I was very happy with my one night stay.
Doubletree was wonderfully comfortable and affordable! They even helped us check in several hours early after our red eye, so we could nap. Thanks for a great trip and a much needed sleep.
The restaurant inside the hotel was fairly good and quick. The rooms were cute and cozy. My bf loved the bed mattress. The lobby had a relaxing feel to it with the neutral tones and fireplace. Hotle has been updated with modern taste. The hotel is attatched to the skywalk system which was great. On the way back from the hockey game at the Excel Center, we walked through the skywalk. You never have to go outside in the cold, very clean in there.
convenience, location, wonderful breakfast buffet. quality faciity
Friendliness of staff; comfort of bed!
Just fine Just fine
Cookies at check in, comfortable beds and pillows Waking up to a call from the front desk at 8:30 in the morning on a Saturday after being out late. Not many restaurants in the immediate area.
The front desk staff was great especially a young woman who looks like the movie star from Juno...Ellen? Do not recall her name but she was fantastic and so helpful! No baggage help or bellman. Restaurant was only open limited hours and no room service. I would only recommend this hotel if the price is right and with certain limitations.
Smoky room no free breakfast poor service in restaurant bar
This hotel is in the heart of St. Paul. Walking distance to the Excel Energy Center and many dining options. Room was clean. I would stay here again. Temperature control panel in the room did not work. Had to open the window in February to cool down the room.
The view from the seventh floor was wonderful, we were able to see the Minneapolis skyline and the Earle Brown Heritage Center. The trees were just starting to turn and it was simply beautiful. The sound proofing was incredible. There were 200 hockey students staying the same weekend we were there, with some in the room next to us and we did not hear a peep from them when in our rooms. Could sometimes hear them when in the hallway, which didn't bother us at all, after all, they are kids. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of fresh food, which could not have been easy as the hotel was booked, on top of those 200 hockey students. Overall a great experience and we think we have found our "home" away from home when we go to Minneapolis to visit family.
I recently stayed here during the 2016 U.S. National Figure Skating Championships which took place in St. Paul. This hotel is really nice, tucked neatly right off of I-94. Was easy to find and is in a quiet buisness park just outside the Minneapolis Metro area. Check in was seamless (I used e-check in) and they had everything ready to go. Really nice staff at check in. The rooms are very nice. Modern decor and very clean. I stayed on the south facing side (718) which meant no noise from the Interstate. My room was the two room suite but is really more like 4 rooms with a sleeping area, common area with sofa, kitchenette/mini-bar, and bathroom. Everything was really clean and comfortable. The bed was heaven. Having the microwave and mini-fridge came in handy. The bathroom very spacious...plenty of towels. Lots of closet space and the floor was really quiet...never heard a peep. The breakfast was delicious as well. Ate there most mornings. Made to order omlettes and everything else. Attending an event in St. Paul I had been concerned I was staying a bit far away but the travel time to St. Paul was only about 15-20 minutes...super fast. Just get on I-94 till you get there. The hotel is really only about 7-10 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Very accessible. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The price was perfect as well. Really upscale stay without breaking the budget. All staff always with a smile and very friendly. Stay here! Nothing!
We stayed at this propertry a year or so ago for my sons wedding. This weekend was another event, the christening of his son at nearby St. Anthony Village. We really appreciated the space, the managers reception, but especially the great breakfast.
Clean, good value for the money. Bed pillows were way too thick. I ended up pulling a pile of clothes out of ny suitcase to use as a pillow instead!
Ruddy's has very good food Pool not heated. Rudy's uses hand towels instead of of napkins. Ordered a $58 bottle of wine, young man brought it out opened; they need wine training. Hotel decor very dated.
The pool deck was dirty and smelled. The hot tub water was brown.
Room service was excellent, comfortable bed, friendly and helpful staff. Pool was pretty dingy and there is no staff monitoring the pool, so a group of rambunctious kids played with minimal supervision for an extended period of time.
Team and management are working to improve this hotel that I guess use to be a luxurious hotel in the past. Good value Bathrooms need some refresh
We were looking for a relatively nice and moderately priced hotel while on a last minute trip to Minneapolis from chicago for a long weekend. Not knowing anything about the city or the hotel in relation to everything, I booked The Minneapolis Blvd Hotel because it sat so close to a couple major freeways. Even though the hotel was a small trek from the sights, it was a very nice and very clean hotel. The stff was plesant and professional and the lobby was meticulous and styled very nicely. The rooms were nice sized, had great annenities and were also meticulously cleaned and invitingly warm and comfortable. I would definitely book this hotel again because of my purly positive experience.
Location was great. Front desk staff was awesome!!! Lights on the front of building shined in our room all night. Even with curtains drawn. House keeping did not leave towels 2 of the 4 days we stayed.
Secluded area. AwY from traffic. Needs a hot tub in pool area A more reasonable price breakfast for hotel guests
everyone was helpful and friendly, room was very nice and clean. The hotel had a starbucks and food off the lobby, also free newspapers. Even though a lot of people were there for a college game the hotel was very quiet. I plan on staying there again.
Hotel felt very clean and modern; smelled good (that is a big thing for me :) I liked that it felt like it was tucked back away from the hustle and bustle Nothing that can be changed. It is a bit close to the highway which makes it difficult to converse out on the patio but the scenery out there was absolutely beautiful.
The Hotel was beautiful an very clean. Rooms were nice and comfortable, bed was very comfortable, nice shower. We will definitely stay again. Nothing I didn't like but a continental breakfast would have made the stay perfect!
It's farily pedestrian friendly, though not for lovely walking. But the walking trails are well kept. The staff is great. Rooms are comfortable and neat. It's a handy in and out to the highway. It's in a business park area. I prefer a neighborhood location, but it is very handy to highways. I had troble opening the window. I think I stayed there once in summer and the windows wouldn't open. This is a major drawback for me. The back entrance was very smoky. I mentioned this to the front desk and they said they were aware and were trying to find the smoker. (I met one man smoking there on my way out so hopefully he was the only one.) The rest of the hotel was Aprl fresh though.
Nice facilities and a nice helpful staff. A little noisy. Our room faced the main highway. We heard sirens from emergency vehicles multiple times.
Nothing Everything... Room smelled gross, bathroom was small and too close to beds, pool was broken
Breakfast was okay Exercise facilities was a joke. Stair stepper kept coming loose as I was using it. And treadmill would catch and I couldn't use it
Staff was helpful and courteous. Comfortable bed. Location was conveniently near highway. Lower quality breakfast. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Poor desk size for working; tv took up half the desk.
It is only 4 months old! The facility was spotless, modern, yet very comfortable and home-y. Staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was hot and had a great variety. Especially for someone who has a gluten free diet, there was plenty to choose from. Beds were comfy and clean. Thank you!
Friendly staff, good breakfast, and clean pool.
great price and nice room nope
Clean and quiet. We were in a handicap room
Helpful staff, free wifi was nice, convenient location and great breakfast. Pool area was small and very chlorinated!

yes the staff was unaware if they could upgrade my room from a room with two beds to a king size bed or a suite it was like talking to a wall. the beds were very uncomfortable.
Room was very comfortable and clean. When checking on when I could check-in by telephone the staff was a bit short.
Room was neat and tidy, bathroom was clean, beds were comfortable. Parking was limited for our large vehicle.
Great local for us. Yummy breakfast. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Comfy bed and clean room. The pool water was too cold.

The rooms were very clean and smelled fresh. The climate was set perfectly in our room. The pool area was very child friendly and had a generous quantity of towels at all times. We were awoken by the Housekeeping Staff 3 times on our departure day.(9/5/16)At 8:05am by the noise of vacuum cleaners and door knocking.Again at 9:40am from knocks on our door asking if we were checking out soon so they could do the room. And at 11am!!
We enjoyed our room and the breakfast was very good No
The room was Very nice and Comfortable. The attached bar/restaurant was very nice as well.
Staff provided exceptional customer service. Will stay again.
Clean Dated Nothing said it was under construction Hotel stated it had a restaurant in the hotel, but that was under construction and closed when we were there.
I did like the restaurant and the bar at the hotel. Many things
Proximity to Xcel center. Free shuttle to downtown. Very dated decor throughout hotel and in the room. Bathroom was very small and made me feel like a giant while taking a shower. The entire place seems extreme old, outdated and not well maintained. Pool area was dirty, the showers did not work and there was a lot of dust on top of the faded, threadbare umbrellas at the tables surrounding the pool. I will absolutely try another hotel before staying here again.
The shuttle that was provided to nearby events was very handy. Staff responsible for cleaning room was friendly and did a great job. For the price, a microwave and refrigerator should have been provided.... continental breakfast, also. The in-room temperature controls did not seem to have any effect on the room temperature - it was variable.
Front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly. Shuttle service was nice & friendly the first night we used it. We biked & walked the rest of our stay bc it was so close. Room was clean, bed & pillows comfortable. Room size was adequate (bathroom small for two people). A mid-range motel & you pay for location. No continental breakfast or late night eats. We sat down at the restaurant for drinks and the bartender wouldn't serve us table side, only at the bar, so we left. No menu in the rooms for the restaurant. We ordered Pizza Luce instead, which was quite good. Lots of road noise from the interstate, fyi.
we booked a king room and got a double room, not impressed by that got a double room instead of the king we reserved
