Room service breakfast was delicious, minus the fried unseasoned potatoes. Bed was soft and comfortable. Carpet and furniture are dated. Bathroom floor looked dark and dirty.
Breakfast buffet was excellent, except our waiter was kind of forgetful. Fireside nook in lobby was an excellent place to have a drink or chat with friends. Staff tried really hard. Towels were okay. Bath products weren't bad. The place is mid-renovation. Most of it looks dated and bland. The hall we stayed on didn't have that problem, but it did smell very strongly of glue (carpet or wallpaper I'm not sure). Our room also had a strong and unpleasant odor. The sheets were very uncomfortable, and the duvet was covered in a flat sheet top-and-bottom which ironically made it much less soft to the touch. Walking around the hotel felt like walking through a combination community college and office building. Probably the least inviting building I've seen for a "luxury resort" ever. Spa lacks surge capacity to accommodate walk-in guests during a busy weekend. Breakfast shuts down on weekends before brunch hours, and even with three other restaurants (total of 4 on the property), none of them serve brunch foods on a Sunday after 11am. Unfortunately this resort isn't close to anything, so if they don't serve brunch in the building, you can't get brunch without a 15+ minute drive. Staff tried hard, but the place gives them nothing to work with. If you're not a golfer or planning a conference, avoid this place. This is not a good resort for a luxurious or romantic weekend.

Rooms was clean Arrived late for check-in and despite notifying the desk that we would be there at that time they were genuinely surprised to have us walk in at 8:30pm. To make matters worse, because we booked through a third party site via kayak, they had no record of our booking. We were told that those bookings come through their email and the manager checks the email but the manager is away. The two front desk employees both stated they were capable of checking the email but yet no one does so while the manager is away? While one of them started to search through what she said out loud was "hundreds of emails" to find the reservation, the other started checking us in. Asking if we were possibly at the wrong hotel and questioning why we were so late (we drove from 4+ hours away and sat in multiple traffic delays) before slowly entering the info into the computer. When we asked her if the restaurant was still open she said no. When we asked her if there were other places we could go to eat, even if it meant driving a bit, we would, as it was our anniversary--she responded by suggesting that we order dominos, "they have good pasta bowls." For our anniversary? I mean, I get that we were late and in a small town things will be closed, but, that seems like a last resort option. Finally, the person checking the emails finds our reservation (and the request to have chocolate covered strawberries added to our room) and says there won't be any strawberries in our room (no surprise there). There was no attempt to rectify the situation and the fact that it took over 20 minutes to check us in because no one checks the email, or that they were notified of our late arrival and still didn't have the room request ready, or that they were aware we were patronizing their hotel for a special occasion and they only served to make the day spent in traffic even more annoying by offering a room upgrade, refund, dining certificate...or even apologizing for any of the above! They were oblivious and had I paid for a one star hotel, none of this would have mattered but at over $250/night in the middle of no where, this place functioned horrifically. Add to that terrible food for room service breakfast and a broken jacuzzi bath and the experience was overall awful. Would not stay there again, and clearly, do not recommend it.
The food was amazing. The location was perfect. Lots to see and do in the vicinity. The rooms were very old. The pink tub and shower are in desperate need of an update.
Coffee was weak. Coffee is crucial. Room service coffee was worse. Bringing your own coffee would be good advice, if you care about coffee. Some finishes were run down-tub surrounds, carpets.
Very convenient to both DC and other Historic sites. Quiet rooms andfriendly staff Their Busness Center was very poor. The printers did not work and could not get much help to get return E-Tickets. Spent two hours trying to retrive my schedule. Finally got them printed the day we left. Their excuse was no toner on two printers. Also they could not find my reservation until the next day

The accommodations were inviting and the room was lovely. The desk clerk was helpful and provided service with a smile.

Pls note that the hotel is just off the route 7 (but no road noise); on the outskirts of Leesburg. A short distance from Leesburg outlet village. Leesburg is well worth a visit. The bedrooms were reasonably good, but the corridors are looking tired. The restaurant and bar are a bit dated; especially as there is nothing else within walking distance.
Beautiful setting. The staff was very welcoming but not intrusive. Guests were made welcome with complimentary wine and spirits. Coffee always available. Lots of games, binoculars, birding books, etc. Tasty breakfast. Breakfast is at 9, a little late for early risers. Decorating a little country for our taste, but spaces were large and comfortable.

The shower was very weak and freezing cold. The 'hot tub' was cold and the pool had too much chlorine.
The "to go" breakfast packs were awesome. It's listed as being near Dulles airport, but it's actually about 40mins away.
Clean, good location. Bed was like a slab of concrete. I like a firm mattress, but... Premium channel, for which they put the little monthly booklet in your room, didn't work. Nice HD television, but most channels were not HD. I find it hard to believe a hoity-toity little town like Leesburg would have substandard cable service.

I opted for the spacious room with extra towels. The hotel accommodated me with a king bed and living area with fridge and microwave. The room was very clean and was already stocked with the extra towels when I checked in. The people behind the desk were very efficient. Nothing to complain about. Nothing.
My husband and I like to visit the Charles Town Races and Slots, and this was our second time staying at the Holiday Inn Express. This is a fairly new facility that is within walking distance of the track. The rooms are immaculate and spacious, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet is much more than you would expect. The pool was closed for the season with our last visit, but it's clean and a great place just to relax and get some sun. Towels are provided at poolside. In the past we have stayed at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, but got tired of the poor quality of the rooms, lax service, and the hotel restaurant not being open for breakfast because kitchen staff didn't show up for work.

The place was very clean and welcoming, and the staff were pleasant. Mattress was a tad on the hard side. The complimentary hot breakfast was okay ... except for the hot part. There was the usual biscuits and gravy, except with little fakey biscuits. There were also some sort of little personal fakey omelette thingies, which seemed to consist of a frozen scrambled-egg mixture with Velveeta or Cheez Whiz. Very ... er ... interesting. Still, it was a lovely hotel and I would probably choose it again. (Hmmm ... maybe McDonalds for breakfast next time, though!!)
If you book here don't try to cancel the booking, they still charge you the full amount. Staff was not very friendly. Did not even tell people we could use the shuttle service from the hotel to casino and back 24 hours a day. Would stay elsewhere for sure before ever coming back.
We decided to get away for just 1 night and go to Charles Town to the race track and casino. We wanted to stay somewhere close to the the race track and found the Holday Inn Express a wonderful choice. They bused us over to the casino and brought us back in a very efficient manner. We also enjoyed a breakfast buffet which was included in our price. We enjoyed our stay and have recommended it to our friends who might want to do the very same thing. We plan on doing a large group next time we go. We will stay at the Holiday Inn Express again.

This is a great place to stay when gambling at Charlestown. Shuttles take you back and forth. Room was very clean..never have seen a cleaner hotel. A++

This hotel was a great surprise. Never expected the value and space for the money. Rooms are very big and extremely clean. Hotel staff was more than accommodating and made you feel like you've known them forever.
This was our 2nd stay at this hotel. Both visits were great. The rooms were also clean and neat. The breakfast bar was wonderful. The clerks at the front desk couldn't have been nicer. They seemed to go the extra mile to help us. We have found that staying at this Holiday Inn Express and others elsewhere, has been well worth the money. This one was real near the Charles Town Race and Casino which made our trip especially good. We plan to stay here again the next time we're in the area.
Nicely decorated, very clean. Staff was very nice and friendly. Rooms are large and comfortable. Overall a very nice hotel, but I would recommend curtains that close to block out the parking lot lighting.
I can't even tell you how surprised I was at the value in this property. Have stayed in Homewood Suites before but this one is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Decor is nicer than many hotels I've stayed in within large cities such as NYC, Chicago, etc. Will definitely stay at the hotel the next time i'm in the area, as well as suggest it to others that I come into contact with.

Very nice overall, staff was helpful and friendly. Short on vegetarian options, but they made me something I could eat. Nice (outdoor) poolside and courtyard.Close to outlet shopping, great bike/walk trail. TV was on too much for my taste in the lobby, so it was not as relaxing a spot as it might have been, for quiet reading.
The suite was more like a one bedroom apartment, with full sized refrigerator, dish washer and microwave and two burners. The unusual (and welcome) feature, was a door between the living room/kitchenette and the bedroom. The living room had both a coutch and essentially a chaise lounge. The breakfast was excellent, and although we didn't eat the evening meal offered 4 night a week it looked good and the menu posted on the frig did not repeat for a month. Free beer and wine was served with dinner. The staff was excellent. I would go out of my way to stay in a similar hotel.
The room decor and color scheme (red, black & white) were very attractive. The layout of the room, including the kitchen, and the couch made it very comfortable when my niece and her family stopped by for a visit.The desk clerk even gave us an extra popcorn for the kids. We had a great night's sleep. Breakfast included many choices, all good.We would definately stay here again.
We drove to your hotel from Williamsburg to tour Harpers Ferry and also go white water rafting. We were very pleased with our room, the adjoining restaurant, the fitness room (which I used) and the large breakfast. Also appreciated the free cookies, coffee and newspaper. Thank you for contributing to a fun weekend for me and my family. Can't think of a thing!

Tell tale sign upon entry. Fan in foyer blowing out so leaves wouldn't fly in resultin in large blown leaf pile where guests would enter. No staff appeared to think it their job to take up and remove leaves--should have left right then dated sad hotel.
The B&B has a charming relaxing feel to it and the innkeepers are warm and welcoming. Its location to the quaint town makes strolling the streets pleasant. My only regret was that my on-line reservation described the $--- a night room as having a gas fireplace in it. The room (#5), did not have a fireplace. So somewhere in the reservation, the ball was dropped and I was truly disappointed about this.

Pleasantly SHOCKED! Super clean, updated with hardwood floors and everything was new despite their online review score being 1.9 leaving me skeptical until walking into room! It was one of the cutest Motel 6 I have stayed in and very comforting! N/A
Location The room was very dirty. It had not been vacuumed, as there were little bits of things on the carpet. The only way to turn off the lamp was to unplug it. The light switch on the wall and the one on the lamp were broken.

This motel has a real working class feel to it, located right next to a super Walmart and a Goodwill. Major renovations were going on and it was just nice to know that honest hardworking people were around doing their jobs and making real improvements. Obviously the room I was in was not being renovated but was almost certainly next on the list, so of course everything about it had a well worn feel. As long as they can keep the prices low, I don't mind if they do a little remodeling. Why not?
location and price for the room the air conditioner did'nt have a front cover on it, the tv did'nt work and the remote was missing, there was no shower curtain or enough towels there was no stopper in the sink and the room was'nt the cleanest.
