Very nice hotel, the room is spacious and very comfortable. They provide shuttle to Venetian Hotel for free. The hotel is a bit far from the city, it's hard to find food around. Casino is very small.
The rooms are the best feature of this hotel - modern and elegant. The location is okay - fairly close to the main parts of town for the tourist, but the immediate vicinity looks a bit run down. That said, it is a safe area. The lobby area is very smoky, from the adjoining casino. The shuttle bus to the ferry terminal is good, though it is a pity it does not go to the airport too. We had a good night's sleep in the hotel - it was very quiet and comfortable. Smoky lobby, lack of shuttle bus to/from airport, shabby area around the hotel
New hotel with luxurious extras in riverside location in easy walk to Macau historic area. Bathroom was amazing. Taxi drivers still learning where the hotel is which made transport a little difficult.
the luxury and space of this 5/6 star hotel internet charges are far too high
Room was stylish and comfortable. Service was smart.
It was our honeymoon. We were well looked after.
Hotel is great!!! staff is friendly and polite, in professional manners!! Room is good, roomy, tidy and clean, bed is excellent comfortable, which is the best i ever have. We didnt make reservation for buffet, but the staff still manage to arrange us a table for 10. If Wifi is free, then will make this hotel 100% mark.
great room and facilities, everything was new none
Everything! What you see is what you get. the check in time
Was upgraded to the Luxury room with views overlooking China across the river. Club Sofitel is amazing, beautiful check in experience with free cocktails. Had an amazing breakfast on the 17th Floor overlooking the old part of Macau. Fantastic.
the staff was wonderful. breakfast was great. the hotel is new and very modern, clean, and enjoyable
A really enjoyed the friendliness and service oriented staff. They, individually and as a whole went out of there way to make my trip upbeat and seamless and they were successful. Nothing.
Everything is walking distance. The staff are pretty rude! Not the front desk but everywhere else. No bother in helping you at all and if they do they are very rude about it and just point you instead of really helping! Not so foreign friendly at all.. Please teach staff to be more courteous to guest! i don't know if that's just how they are but in Las Vegas everyone is very courteous and helpful rather than just pointing! This is what makes Las Vegas one of kind! They really make you not want to leave!!!
They have Fantastic Steam Showers!!! Wonderful historic decor and a Friendly staff. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this property is due to the less then impressive exterior ;)
everything steaming shower system. I still do not how to use it.
Nice place to stay for couple of days
The room is big and clean
Generally well. My family love the rooms and the bathrooms were very clean. The hotel staffs were very polite and helpful. The lift was quite slow. I believe this can be improved.
Beautiful hotel, good breakfast, nice staff, lovely room. The bed was rock hard!!!!
Peace and quiet Wished breakfast had started earlier
nice hotel with excellent servive
I liked the location of the hotel, the room, the staff was very helpfull, and I had the nice view from my room which was one of the things that I asked for.
Room features & facilities, bellboy is very alert&helpful, shuttle bus driver very efficient & polite majority staff commands English poorly-F/O,bell service,h/keeping
Value for money was good and rooms seem to be new.
the room no casino
Location is perfect being, next to the Grand Lisboa (taxi drivers actually know this hotel/casino) and close to historic sites. Room size and quality were excellent. Rooms had clearly been modernised relatively recently. Negatives were the mattress which was quite literally as hard as the floor; the included internet which was so slow as to be unusable and a very average breakfast. It was not terrible by any means but not a plus point and the restaurant was tired looking.
Location, location, location..near all the major shopping, restaurants, casinos by foot. The staff are professional and great..always had a fluent staff on duty. Left my passport in room safe and remembered it when I was at Macao Museum..called and they already had retrieved, itemized, and safety sealed it in a plastic bag for me. Hmmm..not much into being harassed by barkers for KTV style salon which is on 3rd floor hotel..after all this is Macau)
Good location, walking distance to every interesting places. The room is big and very comfort.
2 star buffet breakfast
Realy im not liket nothink in this hotel next time I m not bookt in the simaller hotel .possibel this hotel only for chinees . In the reception was not carfull for the guest
value worth; room is spacious and comfortable. Location is good. Customer svc level is really poor for a 4 star hotel. Reception staff (trainees) unable to answer basic qtns and did not attempt to find out. Whilst other staff not helpful and we had to approach other hotel's concierge. On a rainy day we were told they ran out of umbrellas and if we needed one, we have to purchase it???
free internet (excellent) all staff unfriendly, local knowledge of reception staff limited.. breakfast a complete waste of money..
No smoking rooms in the chosen range were all occupied, but the reception staff promptly upgraded us to non smoking rooms in a better category at no extra charge. Excellent.
Good location with walking distance to the essential sightseeing spots. Also close to casinos like the Lisboa. Staff was friendly, the room big and clean. They only have internet by cable. It's free and they'll lend you a cable, but you're out of luck with a phone, PDA, etc. Not a very great view from the window.
Spacious rooms. Convenient location. Prompt replenishment of toiletries. Reception staff not very knowledgeable. They can't tell us where to tale a bus to places of interest. Do not speak English and can't read the english names on tourist map.
good location bad service, rude
The location was ideal. It was at the centre of Macau. Upon checking in, rather than just asking for a credit card to secure my room, they asked me to pay for the room already plus a deposit which was already almost equivalent to the room I booked. It was the first time I experienced such a policy wherein you need to pay for the room already and give an additional deposit. Besides this, the room we got also had an "old" smell to it as if the room has not been used for some time. It was also dusty in the room.
good price, nice staff old rooms
Good location near the old town. Friendly and helpful front desk/porter Very poor quality of the room, not clean or comfortable. Room not as shown on booking.com. Front desk admitted the poor quality of the standard room and tried to get us to upgrade to the refurbished rooms for an additional $280. This is false advertising, as it is clearly not what i expected when i booked and paid. If you're booking a standard room based on the pictures, then deduct 2 stars from your expectations.
The location is pretty nice, it's a 5 minute walk to the downtown area. My room was lacking basic items like bath towels, hair dryer, coffee, soap, etc. When I requested towels from the front desk they sent someone up and gave me 2 floor mats.
No Cleanliness of the room & room Facilities
The hotel staff was fantastic & also the room out side view was also fabulos
Lighting in the room
The hotel is accessible to tourist spots. None.
location requested non smoking but was not provided
The place is convenient to the shopping and eating place. It is very near to Senado and other tourist spots. I hope that the Customer Relation officer can speak English better so the guest can understand or communicate better.
i like how spacious the room was. i also like its location. a lot. one, it has an old building smell. i had rhinitis during our stay. two, it didn't have any windows. three, room service didn't know how to speak English so she hung up on me when i called.
the free shuttle bus service to the feery terminal the rooms are very comfortable and clean
best location best location near major casino and most attractive visitor places
Room was clean and rate is cheaper compared to other hotels of the same level. uncomfortable/firm bed
Great hotel localtion provides an excellent view of the city and easy access to public transport. Small lobby space
Excellent location. old. Need upgrade
It has excellent location, very close to Porte 16 which means there are lots of small streets full of local restaurant and cafe for you to explore. Also close to the city centre. Generally clean and comfy. Room size is way smaller than we expected from the photos. We also lost our patience to wait for a hair dryer for more than 1 hour, so we just had to go to the counter and take it ourselves.
clean and cheap not easy to get a Taxi during traffic hour
Our room was clean, spotless and modern, with a few extras that we never expected like the slippers, toothbrushes, comb etc only a slight let down was the receptionist did not understand much english so we could not ask much about the area things to do etc.
location is excellent, near the historical centre of macau; food places are plentiful and nearby; taking bus is convenient to several places including to the macau exit point. i don't mind to stay there again, recommendable to others... i cannot think of anything i dislike....
The location is near the street so it will be easier to catch a bus, taxi, or shuttle. Walking distance to senado square and ruin of st. Paul. The room is small but it's clean. Safe deposit box are not available in the room
Close walk to the tourist trap and zoo that is Senando Square. I like the fact that it is located in a real neighborhood where locals live instead of the fake Disney-like casino areas. Noisy and rude mainlanders (what's new?) made would be an enjoyable experience horrible. Had to call front desk twice to get them to tell them to shut up. First time I called it didn't seem to work. Second time I got someone who couldn't speak English unlike the previous guy. Had to go downstairs and muster up my limited Chinese to tell him what is going on. He told them to be quiet but they continued afterwards. This place needs to always have someone on duty who can speak English and Chinese!
Price Time of breakfast (8:30 start!) and spartan rooms with no double bed
The hotel is walking distance to most tourist destinations such as Sofitel, Senado Square and ruins of St. Paul. The hotel room is fair enough, it's clean but the shower room is very small and their hotel rates are little expensive.
nothing for a hotel of this sort its very pricey n their attitude very bad(take it or leave it,no compromise things are like that) When i discover room light bulb blown as it was dark i requested if they cud fix it, frontdesk replied they fix it when available. I was wondering if that bulb cud hav been blown for long time n suckers like me had to put up with it. Bathroom choked when i took shower. This time i dont bother to inform them since they dont treasure customers.
the location is quite good actually... could be better if there is some sign board leading us to go the hotel..
I lik the location of the hotel bcause it is on Guia Hill, the highest part of Macao and besides Guia Hill is also historic.
Price worth for the services Too noicy as there are always group tour members
Hotel is situated on the hill and room with a balcony offered a good view of the city at night. District is godo as well, with a UN building and various schools around. Staff is very helpful and friendly. They helped us to call places to find a forgotten camera. Internet is free in the room. Snacks and water in the room are priced like in convenience stores (cheap). TV offers international channels. Great and inexpensive dimsum restaurant on premises. For those wishing to spicy up evenings, there is a night club in the ground floor with strip-tease show and more. Breakfast option is limited to dim-sum restaurant. While making absolutely great dim-sum, this is not the best breakfast option. Guests may want to chose to go to a nearby Hotel Royal for Chinese/western breakfast buffet (HK120). Location is not ideal for visiting the city, since you'll need a shuttle or taxi to reach most of city destinations. Arriving to the hotel by taxi, make sure you have it's Chinese name written on a paper and show this to the driver, otherwise the driver won't understand where to go.
clean room, location
Nice older hotel with good facilities, friendly staff and excellent Chinese restaurant in the lobby. Also, Guia Hill area is a very nice area of Macau to walk and explore the real Macau, not the casinos. I will stay there again. There is a pervading musty smell in the hotel.
Facilities to view the Macau GP from the roof Rooms could do with being refurbished. No automated way of paying credit card (manual slips and call to CC company). Charge for instant coffee. Checking out procedure took a long time as they check mini bar. If I ever stay there again I will ask for the Bar to be emptied
