10.0 Excellent
Pros: All was excellent except for the parking as I was pulling a trailer.
Cons: Parking was crowded, but good for cars.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good. Location good except that it is on 35W which is being redone but very convenient to where we were going.
Cons: One of the shower doors was not on track. Possible safety issue? It made me wonder if the housekeeper had actually cleaned the shower area as she should have or she/he would have known the door was not on track?
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Complimentary reception when you check in
Cons: Cleaning
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was marvelous. The room was terrific. The staff (particularly the blond breakfast server) was extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons: Wish you had the Golf Channel!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great space in the room, fabulous bed, spotlessly clean. Add to that the fact that the property is easy to get to and has lots of parking!
Cons: Our particular room (number ending in 02) shared a wall with the elevator. Those types of intermittent noises can really wreck a night of sleep. On our second night, we ran the temperature control fan on high as a white noise and slept better.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice area
Cons: To close to the road
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I liked that the property is easy to get to and it is quiet. The staff was excellent and the room was clean, comfortable and quiet.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was near the highway so easy access for traveling. The outdoor facilities had grills and basketball court to keep people entertained and the rooms were spacious.
Cons: The location was not near anything fun for kids. Also they didn't have many supplies for cleaning in the kitchen. The outdoor facilities were not kept clean as well.
Hewing Hotel - Minneapolis - Bedroom
2
9.3 Excellent (121 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Hewing Hotel is a century-old brick-and-timber warehouse in Minneapolis’s historic North Loop district. It has been redesigned into a truly unique 124-room and 14-suite hotel that offers travelers an authentic Minneapolis experience. The Hewing is like stepping back into the 1800s with a rooftop pool and sauna, plus comfortable bedding. The recent renovation managed to retain the industrial chic vibe in a very modern style with a mix of heavy wood beams and brick, modern décor and all modern conveniences. Accommodations include king or double queen beds with SERTA Sapphire mattresses, luxurious linens, private bar, and free Wi-Fi. However, each room and suite is slightly different and offers a unique perspective on the hotel’s history and charm. In addition to resting exceptionally in a high-class room, guests also have amazing amenities at their fingertips. The wood-burning grill and oven at the on-site restaurant, Tullibee, offers rustic Nordic cuisine and classic craft cocktails. The hotel offers year-round rooftop experiences with a bar, sauna, and spa pool. There is also a 24-hour fitness center, business amenities, pet-friendly amenities, and spa services. Located in the North Loop, Hewing Hotel is located within walking distance to one of the best shopping districts in the Twin Cities. Food lovers can indulge in the many award-winning restaurants and bars, while other attractions such as the Mississippi River, theaters, parks, Target Center, and Target field are nearby. For further exploring, mass transit is also only steps away. Travelers and locals alike can agree that the rustic décor and unique dishes severed at Tullibee make Hewing Hotel a destination for anyone looking to bring the backwoods to the big city.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was quiet, beautifully appointed, and very comfortable. The food was spectacular and the bar was lively and fun. An excellent experience all around.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was lit!
Cons: That I didn't bring a bathing suit to enjoy the pool
6.3 Good
Pros: The location was great. We were able to walk to Whole Foods and the Guthrie Theater from the hotel. Great shopping in the neighborhood too.
Cons: We were awoken by a fire alarm that they called a drill. Nonetheless, we got out of bed, got dressed in a rush & walk down the stairs. Later we were told it was the sauna & the 5th floor was flooded by sprinklers. The rooftop pool & sauna ( a part of the reason I paid more to stay here versus other hotels) was closed as a result. No one asked about our stay on checkout as they seemed consumed by the chaotic situation. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Staff were not great. Definitely not hospitable. Seemed really stuck up.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were perfectly appointed. The aesthetic is comfortable but with great style. The roof top bar, drinks and staff were fabulous!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Value of stay was excellent
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Most expensive hotel downtown. Rooms were small. No closet. 6 5 hangers. Poor quality construction like a super-up motel six. We booked at $279 per night, purchased nothing at the hotel but our final bill was more than $1200.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love this hotel. I'm a design nut and loved the design. Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. The location is perfect. I highly recommend this hotel. You will have an amazing time. Great bar and restaurant scene. Rooftop bar is perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooftop pool / bar Staff Location Food Ambience
Cons: The gym could be more up to date
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The vibe of rugged and classy. Lived the roof pool and sauna - so nice to wind down.
Cons: The glass shower door was not clean on the inside and the tv kept shutting off every 15 min and resetting the channel

Cons: Wish we'd stayed another night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is awesome! They’ve thought of everything and if I didn’t want to leave my room I’d never have to. Super close to bars and restaurants and so comfortable. The bed and pillows were amazing. I’m a MN local and loved my stay here. I’m basing my next getaway on where Loews hotels are, and deciding the place to visit second.
Cons: The only complaint is that you can hear a lot of the cars and the walls are thin. The maids were really loud outside of our room.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is centrally located and perfect for walking around to other neighborhoods. There's a nice large bar/lounge area on the 4th floor where we grabbed drinks a couple times during our stay. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The water pressure and temperature in the shower repeatedly fluctuated from hot to cold and sometimes turned off entirely. We mentioned it to the front desk in the evening when we left for dinner but our request was never followed up by staff. We also asked the concierge for a couple simple recommendations and the response was "I don't know." There were coffee cups left on a side table by the elevators on our floor and sat there the entire weekend. These are all minor inconveniences but left us underwhelmed and disappointed when previous reviews raved about the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Check-in and check-out was excellent! Kevin was gracious and informative!!

Pros: The location connected to Mall of America was very convenient and being relatively new meant ample plug ins and newer beds and TVs. The Cedar + Stone restaurant downstairs was also fantastic.

Cons: Coffee in the room was terrible. No free breakfast.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Workout facilities and lobby/meeting area were first rate. Parking was easy-peasey. Visually, the Delta is a beautiful hotel.
Cons: Paper-thin walls. Awakened by other guests’ alarms, and we were audibly ringside to a couple fighting across the hall. We raced to get out of our room to dinner, so as to not have to listen to more than 20 minutes of ugliness between other guests.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and staff friendly and welcoming. Pool was a strong plus. The room was bright with windows, and the pool is part salt water so less chlorine needed. Workout area also very nice with several treadmills, elliptical, and weights. Food at the attached restaurant was good with friendly service.
Cons: The walls are thin and at night I heard neighbors talking loudly and people in the hall very clearly. I turned on the air and this was resolved.

Pros: Well appointed hotel. Impeccable in every detail.
Cons: More coffee selection in the room would have been nice.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff was friendly. Location near the Orpheum theater was great.

5.5 Okay
Pros: Nice big room
Cons: Clock on the phone is 20 minutes out, could not be fixed, and no one seemed to be bothered, clock by the bed 2 minutes out, one of the light fittings had masking tape around it, took 2 days to be resolved. When the kitchen closes early so does the room service option, and the hotel has no clue what to do next, as they might be reading this, the answer is to recommend some that does serve food after 9pm, very simple really, but the answer you expect for a big brand that’s lost it’s way in understanding without guests it does not have a business.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good but a little pricey.
Cons: No ice machines
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is central to everything downtown. It has an excellent restaurant and groovy speakeasy in the basement.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The space
Cons: Families need something like this for space but more affordable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the front desk staff were very helpful and polite with the exception of two experiences mentioned below. I will particularly point out that Chris, Max, Hugo, Camilla and Kyle were very professional, polite and went out of their way to help make my stay as pleasant as possible. That was enough of a balance from my negative experience to say I would definitely and probably will stay again.
Cons: A little hiccup with housekeeping staff not fully respecting/acknowledging my Do Not Disturb sign but it was resolved. They would try to initiate cleaning and just flat out ignore the sign. This happened about 5 times, so I did get very irritated. Chris, the manager, handled it very well and there were no problems afterwards. Also not a huge deal, but a front desk agent with curly hair (didn't catch her name) was in one of those moods I call, "I will barely help you but I will help you and I will stare at you disapprovingly like you committed a crime." Good old passive agressive Minnesotans! That's the only front desk agent that just immediately treated me semi-hostile without any provocation whatsoever. That's the kind of thing that inspires people to write reviews.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very modern facility, quiet and clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything really very clean and comfortable along with professional and polite staff.
Cons: Breakfast was your standard fare of stuff I just don't want to eat. I just went to Starbucks everyday for breakfast and coffee. I am spoiled I suppose and distrust any type of buffet where people who aren't staff are touching everything you touch. What if that greasy guy in front of you doesn't wash his hands after he goes #2 ??? Real life is full of mysteries!!!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The size of the room and the kitchen in the room. The service, location and all the other facilities in the place.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: In renovation parking limited
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything-spacious rooms-great staff very relaxing
Cons: Loved everything
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is kind of off the beaten path but overall it was worth the extra 4-5 miles. The room was amazing. Very clean, comfortable, and modernized. The size of the room was unexpected, very large. I appreciated the full fridge and microwave. The hallways were unlike any that I've seen before, surprisingly very well lit, bright and cheery. Staff was friendly and attentive. I even received 2 complimentary bottled waters upon check in. Check in and out process was smooth. I would definitely stay again.
Cons: While I appreciated the complimentary breakfast, could use a little more variety. I've never seen microwavable breakfast sandwiches at a hotel before. I've always seen fresh scrambled eggs and bacon/sausage at the very least. So I stuck with the oatmeal for 3 days. Other than that I was very impressed and enjoyed the stay.
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good and rooms were clean
Cons: The bed was a hard bed, not soft at all. I had a view of the back of the building where all the outbuildings are, also of the interstate. All I heard all night long was people getting on the gas getting on the interstate...sucked.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice and breakfast was good.
Cons: Front desk staff were not as pleasant as I would have liked and were dismissive when I had an issue with the Internet. Hampton / Hilton has an archaic Internet policy, which I never could get to work.
7.0 Good
Pros: bathroom was nice
Cons: couldn't close curtains in room, covered air conditioner bed did not face tv, dont like this room layout
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in city & very friendly and helpful staff
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing
5.8 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was good and the location for us worked well since we came to see the Twins and Braves game
Cons: We had issues with our AC once we came back from the baseball game, someone tried to come and fix it didn’t really seem to know what was wrong with it then it just started to work finally. At 1:40 am we woke up and realized that the heat was on and became unbearably hot in our room and the unit would not turn off. We then had to switch rooms at 2 am and we were not compensated for the hassle we experienced. We were then given $20 to target although we spent over $300 to stay 2 nights and spent additional money to park. There should be some way the hotel could have reimbursed us even if we used an online booking site. We were very unhappy that there wasn’t more the hotel could do for us for the price we paid.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff at the front desk when I checked in was great. We had a little issue where my room got checked in to someone else on accident but they were on the ball with getting me into a different room. I like the security of the hotel. You need your card to get in the front door and to ride the elevator. Being downtown it’s just nice to have that extra security and knowing you’re safe.
Cons: Besides the issue with check in, there weren’t any issues.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed my stay, very kind staff. The service was very good and clean Very nice property.
Cons: I can´t believe that the main curtains don't shut down all the way. There is a bright light in front of the hotel from the building in front that keeps the room lit all night, I called front desk but seems that it is just that way. It is basic for guests to get a room that can be fully obscure even in daylight. I recommend you work on that. Thank you
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfy and close to attractions
Cons: The toilet did not plush properly at all times.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The only thing that was convient was the skywalk to get to the parking garage

Pros: Nice rooms, nice aesthetic
Cons: House cleaners kicked me out of my room at 10:30am even though my check out was at 12pm. I brought this up to the front desk.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff brought a microwave to our room promptly upon request. The floors were gorgeous. Good wifi. A swimming pool and exercise equipment although we didn't have time to use them. The bar on the first floor was open late. There was plenty of parking for us who travelled from out of state. We were in the 6th floor. The rooms are updated, elegant, and clean.
Cons: The location was a bit far for my preference but I knew that before booking. We were visiting St. Paul- Minneapolis and this was located in Minnetonka approximately 15 mins from Mall of America, 25 minutes from Minneapolis

8.8 Excellent
Pros: We liked the comfort of the rooms, the free breakfast and nightly reception. We liked how close it was to our event. We especially were happy when our room was upgraded due to a problem with our booking!
Cons: We wish that the nightly reception could be in a larger room. There are not enough seats for the amount of people staying and enjoying that service. Also, prices vary so much depending on events in town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like how you need your guest card to basically get around anywhere in the hotel. I loved the breakfast and the rooms, it's a very esthetically pleasing hotel. I LOVE the location so much!
Cons: I dont think there was anything I didn't like about our stay. It was overall a great one! A little expensive but it was worth it.
4.5 Okay
Pros: - Central Location in Minneapolis Downtown - Breakfast acceptable, however, weak side on the bread/toast section (not much choice)
Cons: - The toilet seat was broken at check-in time. - The rooms are very noisy, you can literally hear everything your neighbour does. - The room doors are heavy, they slam loudly when closing. The first person opening/closing the door in the morning wakes up everyone. - Reception initially assigned a wrong room to me at the check-in. Even after correcting the mistake (I noticed it within 2 minutes), Hilton still tried to automatically deduct the 1,800 Dollar room charge for the second room as well as the deposit every night during my stay. After staying almost one weak in this hotel, I was very happy to leave as I got increasingly unrested. If you seek comfortable sleep, go somewhere else.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: It's a Hampton Inn. You know what to expect and you get it. This one is no different. Bill at the front desk was a very helpful sort, like a lot of folks in Minneapolis. I wish I could say more but Hampton Inns are.... utterly predictable, and this one did a good job of being a Hampton Inn. (I was at one in Costa RIca, and it followed the formula - I swear they brought in breakfast fixings from the states.)
Cons: Starting to sour a bit on the Hampton breakfast - served with a smile but it's still mostly microwave stuff. (Fairfield Inn had someone actually making eggs in a skillet, last time I was there.) Oatmeal was watery, which isn't the norm. Hey Hilton Corporate, it's 2019, it's not hard to go get a decent loaf of bread from the store, one that has like nuts and oats and texture and stuff. Americana is great but a little change would be good.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facility was really well designed, clean, quiet; but the main observation we made was that the staff as a whole was happy, helpful, kind. We observed them treating everyone as if they were the most important person in the world. Very impressed. All were great. Alex checked us in and he was a joy. He is joyful. Thanks for an unexpected and lovely stay. We will never stay elsewhere if at all possible.
7.0 Good
Pros: Service and breakfast
Cons: Air/heating set up for room. Room very hot with no heat on in winter on 2nd floor so had to turn A/C on to cool to 70 deg. It was 10 deg outside so as unit kicked on during night you would freeze while the unit blowed directly towards the bed until it k

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The proximity to the Metro light-rail system was amazing. We could get anywhere in the city without driving! The hotel is also right by the UMN campus as well.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very clean. Beds comfy, but EXTREMELY elevated. Step stool provided upon request, attendant commented "it happens A LOT here". Nice sports hotel.
Cons: Definitely a sports boutique hotel. Beds EXTREMELY elevated. ABSOLUTELY NO free amenities. TV 90% sports channels. ONE Ice machine VERY LG floor, but NO ice bucket/glasses in room. NO luggage help. No breakfast/treats/water. Asked desk clerk abt hotel to do's-she didn't know & offered no advice on how to find out.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable and spacious. Beds were nice and it is located in the middle of campus.
Cons: I did not receive any shampoo after asking at the front desk, the conditioner ran out, and I could not use the phone since I was not given the guide when I checked in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the interesting and fun design mid century design aesthetic!
Cons: absolutely nothing!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location
Cons: The front desk staff was rude.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is fantastic. The metro runs right in front of the hotel. It’s inside the U of Minnesota campus, which makes for a safe, small town feel in the middle of a large city, minutes from downtown. Will definitely be back!
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff was very friendly.
Cons: The hotel has condition issues. Toilets that don't flush, coffee maker was broken, beds and pillows uncomfortable, missing supplies from the room (coffee cups, toilet paper, pen, paper)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere : very good; student working in the lobby; friendly staff (at the restaurant as well); fireplace (but during summer with ac on...that’s a bit weird....) Location : perfect (public transport to downtown Minneapolis or St Paul + shops, just in front; green area around; Mississippi +FR Weisman Art Museum, very close) Room: nice, big and comfy
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Ambiance was great with nice features in the room of famous people from Minneapolis.
Cons: Valet service was not always available immediately.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely public spaces. Appeared very clean. Good breakfast. Room okay. Manager made good effort to accommodate us with a discount given they changed our reservation and did not give us advance update. At least we had a place to sleep. We enjoyed a very nice breakfast as well on the hotel. It’s a tremendous location if you have anything going on at U of Minnesota. Surrounding area clearly student driven and has lots of energy.
Cons: We had booked a suite which was confirmed by hotel. Room we got was not what we booked. We did get a room at discounted rate for mixup. Regardless of explanation offered I think they over booked suites and since we checked in late we were left holding the stick so to speak. When I called hotel to let them know our arrival time would be later than originally indicated I was treated in super off handed manner. It was like ‘why are you calling me?’’ That was opportunity to give us heads up about booking issue instead of presenting it to tired customers without a prepared backup plan. Thank goodness the manager was at the desk at time of check in. I do not think the other desk clerks would have had any idea how to handle the snafu quickly and diplomatically. TV did not work properly and front desk was no help. Staff could use a little ‘polish’ in interacting with clients.

7.0 Good
Pros: Location is great and rooms are very nice.
Cons: Room was not ready after available check in time. They said housekeeping staff was very backed up. Some people were given rooms while others were told they had to wait 1-2 hours until rooms would be available.
7.5 Good
Pros: Downtown Minneapolis hotel. Spacious rooms. Very comfortable bed. Nice staff in general. The hotel offers happy hour for executive floor guests on a daily basis. the lady servicing the happy hour couldn't have been more helpful and thoughtful.
Cons: The check in was way below expectations for the hotel. The staff at check in provided minimal information about the hotel and facilities and his answers mainly were "cool" and "ok". Despite being big rooms, the amnesties were not great. The shower at the hotel was disappointing, consisting of a tiny shower head and very low water pressure. The AC had random sounds every night, was not fixed despite me informing the front desk. Small closet space for hanging clothes (Pressing iron prevents you for actually using all the hangers bar) and no shelves. No mini bar at the room. No turndown service. All in all, the stay is very overpriced.
9.7 Excellent
Cons: Had a great experience. Great location, clean and great ambiance.
6.3 Good
Pros: The room view.
Cons: Elevator went down, had to climb 11 flights of stairs with heavy luggage. Valet took forever and had to drive around 5 times before being able to park my car in the valet spot. Called the hotel and the staff sucked at telling me where to go, it was awful.

Pros: Everything was perfect. Room was immaculate and staff was very friendly and helpful. The kitchen to the restaurant in the lobby even served me one last meal as they were closing up for the evening.
Cons: Uber drivers seemed unable to find hotel. Not sure if this is the hotel's fault. Maybe the name of the hotel could be placed in a more visible location.
