Serves it purpose Good restaurant next door Expect much more for the price Best to book online, staff are obviously trained to quote highest price possible with no power to negotiate.
The shower was amazing and the beds awesome No hot water at all on Friday morning waited over a hour and still nothing but ice water in the shower. When hot water was available shower w as awesome
The location worked well for me, close to Sausalito. The housekeeping staff did a good job with the room. Hotel is dated and the carpets and furniture are worn. No restaurants in the immediate area. It is overpriced for what it offers. Far better to stay a bit further north - better value.
Room appointments, cleanliness, breakfast room very pleasant, drinks in the evening, pretty lobby, great location for our events. Needed more light in the room at times. It was hard to see where the hotel was, coming in from the highway because only one side was marked well.
Very accommodating staff and clean design. Overall a great hotel for the price. no
The staff was incredibly friendly and the happy hour after a long ride on complimentary bikes was a nice way to end the day. I missed having a hot tub or sauna.
We spent a long weekend here and it was so relaxing. The staff is extremely helpful. Even the rooms without the best views have redwoods just outside the windows so you can lie back and admire the towering trees. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, the soaking tub is small (not big enough for two). If you're looking for a low-key restful place, you should certainly consider Mill Valley Inn.
We stayed at the Mill Valley Inn to take advantage of nearby hiking at Mt. Tamalpais. The spacious, comfortable room was clean and overlooked a small audible stream. The staff was friendly and helpful. Located on a quiet street in Mill Valley, we were able to walk everywhere and take advantage of the lovely restaurants.
Room had a poor Ac . Just too hot
We arrived very late and the two women who were manning the front desk were absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, helpful, and just lovely. We wanted to sleep until about 9am, however, at about 7am Sasquatch began pacing upstairs, stomping back and forth for hours. We didn't get the rest we needed for our upcoming long drive.
The Marin Suites is next door to the Book Passage bookstore where we see many famous Authors visiting to sign their books. The location is only minutes from three malls and the freeway to Napa or San Francisco.
I liked that is was clean and quiet and that breakfast was included.
It's a clean, well-kept facility with a good location. The bed was comfortable and the price was reasonable. The structure magnifies noise, and the hotel doesn't discourage it, with loud parties and conversation continuing past midnight. The fitness room is small and one of the four machines broken throughout our stay. A calamity one morning canceled the highly touted breakfast, with no acknowledgment or discount by the hotel. Internet access is $10 per day. It's fine, and I confess that I haven't stayed in a better full-service hotel in the area, but there is no reason to look forward to staying at this property.
The staff was very friendly. Internet wasn't free for me.
Very quiet and always appreciate the breakfast and happy hour! Wish the train was operating to Sonoma. Still a few months away. That will be awesome.
The indoor waterfall and koi pond, part of their tropical atrium, are really unique. They have substantial snacks in the evening and great breakfast.
Clean, quiet and comfortable! Great happy hour and full breakfast To holder is behind the user! Awkward!!
Nice place for families Couldn't control air conditioning to get colder
Nice location and a beautiful lobby. Quiet. Very large rooms that can comfortable fit 4 people. Liked the complimentary treats during the midday to evening. Each room has 2 rooms, each with its own hdtv. Comfortable beds with nice sheets. I used the fridge, which worked very well and kept my drinks very cold. It was obvious it hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests. The facility was dirty. Literally. There was urine on the seat and toilet paper in the bowl. The backs of earrings were on the counter and we only had one set of towels for a room meant for two people. I called to have it cleaned and it took them over an hour to send anyone. And when they did, after I'd called a second time to remind them, the maid merely flushed the toilet and left without cleaning anything. I requested to have my room switched but the person at the front desk said they were fully booked. So I was out of luck and decided to stick it out. Later that night I realized the ironing board and doors to the armoire were broken. Yet another disappointment. The next morning I was out of the room by 9:45 am. I came back just before 3 pm and found my room hadn't been cleaned. I waited over an hour before the maid knocked on my door. She walked in, made the beds, took away the wet towels, and within 10 minutes she left. She never touched the counters, vacuumed, or disinfected the bathroom. Then, to no surprise by this point, I went to use the complimentary microwave and found it a mess. It had obviously been used many times and never been cleaned. Luckily the first maid left a roll of paper towels by mistake. I cleaned it myself. If I stay here again, I'll have to remember to bring Clorox bleach, a sponge, rubber gloves, paper towels and air freshener. I'll keep my usual tip to cover my extra expenses. And it's 2015 Embassy Suites. What hotel doesn't offer complimentary wifi?! Especially at nearly $200 a night.
The room design, hotel layout, coy ponds, happy hour, breakfast, pool, honor bar style shop. It's a little run down and the bar closes early. It seems like it should be open later on weekends. Especially when there are no other options near by.
Hotel staff was nice. The food selection was good . Bed was comfy and room was clean. Asked for our bed to be made while we were out, but all the housekeeper did was put a pile of towels on the couch. We had to call later to ask them to make the bed. It may seem like a small matter, but don't think it's too much to ask. Nice to have a tidy room after a long day.
Spacious Rooms Cost, long walk to room
i like the hotel, it was beautiful, I enjoy the water fall, coy fish, the hotel grounds very nice. the breakfast excellent... P.S. I like being on the firs floor. that provided us a great access to the beautiful scenery the hotel has to offer. I did not like the room. it was not what I expected from a beautiful hotel. the living room had a big conference table, it fell like I was at an office, that made it very uncomfortable, we wanted a private place to hangout but with the big table and office chairs, it was not possible. we ask the staff " a guy" for the room to be change but the staff member, that we ask, he told us we need it to pay an additional $50. I you can see as was not away in business nether was I meeting with other people for biasness. the staff member made a remark that my room was book by you guys and that they could not change any!!!
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The facility is very well maintained and clean. The room was really nice and bed was comfortable. Fitness center was spacious and high tech - cold bottled water was a bonus.
Nice staff Older hotel, overall I don't think I will ever go back
I travel for business and have stayed in many, many hotels over the last few years. I've never written a review for a hotel until today. I was very impressed by the warmth and hospitality of the Four Points San Rafael. The staff was happy to be there and happy to help me in whatever way I needed. Whether it was extending my checkout time significantly or getting me 4 bottles of extra water or faxing my papers out for me, it was done with a smile. The service here made all the difference to my experience. The room was also very clean and well kept. Thanks Four Points!
Everything was good. It is nice to be able to count on this hotel to give good service every visit. Nothing
It was clean. They did not honor the pricing booked through Kayak. They charged me over double the agreed upon rate. They have a policy to not honor pricing if you don't book within their time window.
Location and. Amenities Our laundry was stolen and the staff was less then helpful in trying to locate it or at least see lif and when it was taken
Good customer service despite a overbooking problem, yummy breakfast offered (not complimentary). Overpowering smell in the room likely from cleaning products. Hotel overbooked and we were downgraded from king to double bed.
I didn't like the adjacent doors that are now added to the rooms. Made me very uncomfortable during the night. There are latched on them, so I wasn't really sure if the door was locked.
Comfortable room with very friendly staff. We enjoy the stays very much. My room is a bargain with almost 50% price of the regular room. Very good value but the room faces I-101 with highway noise. You may want to check with the hotel for better rooms.
The bathroom worked as it should. There was hot water in the shower. The drains and toilet worked fine. My wife called the morning we were going to check in to confirm we'd have a room with a queen and double sized beds. She was told we're confirmed and that wouldn't be a problem. When we got to our room that night we had quite a surprise - the room had the double bed we asked for but the other bed was a... twin bed! I called the front desk to ask why there was a twin bed in our room. "Your room has a queen and a double". "I'm standing in my room right now and there's no queen bed here". "How did you book your room?" "Online". "We're not responsible for what the website promised you". "Oh no, no no. YOU just told me I had a queen bed. I am asking YOU to make good on YOUR promise of a queen bed". Silence for about 10 seconds. Then "We're all booked up for the night and there aren't any other rooms". Just out of curiosity, I checked the hotel website and there's no mention anywhere of a room with a twin bed. The next morning I went to the front desk to ask for a call from the manager to refund a portion of my bill. The front desk clerk asked what my complaint was and I told her about the beds in the room. "That room has a queen and double beds". "No it doesn't. It's a twin bed". "How did you book your room?" "Online". "We're not responsible for what the website promised you". "I've heard. But YOU told my wife yesterday we'd have a queen bed. YOUR employee last night told me that room had a queen bed and YOU also just told me that room has a queen bed. I am asking YOU to make it right". Loud sigh. "I'll have the manager call you". It's been two weeks Mr Manager. Still waiting for that call....
Staff, location, cleanliness, room décor, feel.
Great location! Near the bay, ferry, shops, restaurants, cafe, small fishing pier for the kids, walking path and grocery store. Views of the city and GG Bridge. Need any fishing tips for you and the kids? Talk to Ron at the grocery store meat department, the guy is local and a great resource.
The room was absolutely gorgeous as were the lodge facilities including a pleasant restaurant. The service desk was particularly helpful with information and there is access to lodge bicycles for free to allow you to ride around this idyllic environment. They also allowed us to leave luggage and ourselves until late when our plane journey resumed. No
Location, fireplaces, front desk staff. Old building with loud A/C units, and fan. Housekeeping was moving furniture above us and continuously banging the floor at 8 AM.
The hotel was a perfect ending to our week long trip no
It was very pleasant, well-appointed, and conveniently located near the ferry to San Francisco. Staff members were helpful and courteous. The hotel restaurant was excellent.
The Inn was great for breakfast and late evening - I was not expecting that, and the food and the service was so good that I did not eat anywhere else. Outside the lobby is a very nice seating area for meeting friends. The room and bath were spacious. It was quieter than I expected. I was near the ice machine, either nobody else used it, or the room was insulated enough that the noise didn't come through. The pillows - usually I ask for extras, not necessary at The Lodge. The pool was lovely, there wasn't enough seating - a group of non-swimmers had taken over the cabana, as I was alone, I had to join a family group, which is okay in some countries, in California it felt like I was imposing.
Wine and nibbles People in the next room had a party on Sunday night. Called the front desk 3x... 10:30, 11:00, 12:30. Finally they did something at 1245. People left, but 2 drunk girls kept on yapping until 1:30 am. Never again.
They are doing the right things. attention to detail was very apparent.
Sounded like I was in an apartment complex. Stomping on floor above started at around 5am. 0 water pressure. Just a little dribble coming out of the shower head. Did not get a good nights rest at all.
Room was clean. Well, needless to say we were freezing all night but after we complained, they changed the room next day. Everything was fine from next day onwards
Bed was great. Room big. Good breakfast. Huge pool. Right off freeway. Would stay again. No elevator. Sink/vanity not enclosed in bathroom. No bar.
Seedy, bad smelling rooms. Did not feel clean. Never again.
Large lapping swimming pool was a nice surprise
Rooms were quite big and comfortable. Many extras on the propert in an excellent location.
Convenience, price Motel-style set-up.
For several years we have been using Best Western Corte Madera Inn as a favored place to stay when visiting the Bay Area. We like the shopping that is convenient to its location. San Francisco is just a hop away down the 101 and across the Golden Gate. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, also well appointed. Staff is courteous and helpful, and the free breakfast at the restaurant next door is really good. Some of the rooms sometime seem a little dated, but this is not a deterrent to us. It's a great location.
Front desk people were great we got in a little late. They kept the pool open for us which was a lot of fun. Then we relaxes by the fire pit. Great hotel just outside of San Fran.
We loved this place, especially for the insanely good price. Walk to Buckeye Roadhouse for steak and back home. Can't beat it. Not enough blankets so we were a bit cold.
nice room, very convenient for function we were attending. mattress was nice but bed was extremely noisy.
The location was nice but if you're willing to drive a few miles north there are nicer hotels for the same price. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It had several broken springs and was bulging on the sides. The room was very small and there was a table that blocked access to the right side of the king sized bed so you had to crawl on to the bed from the foot of it. No dressers, only a small rack that the tv is mounted to to hang. No shower head, water was spraying at full blast out of a pipe coming from the wall like a hydrant which was not awful but it required me to ricochet water off my hands on to my face if I didn't want water to go up my nose.
cleanness. Staff is rude. Breakfast is poor.
The view of Golden Gate at night is priceless
Beautiful location. Large comfortable room. My room was a long walk (down a steep hill) from the restaurant and parking.
Everything! Top notch from the staff, to the room, to the grounds, to the food...I could not ask for a better experience, and I cannot wait to return!
The location is awesome. It's so close to so many activities during the day and night. We only did a small fraction of the activities available. Also, the restaurant and bar have fantastic food and atmosphere. The guests next door to us had a dog that barked often. We found that the hotel staff had left two bags of earplugs in the room. Was this a solution to the barking dog problem?
the location the food the service the room - the view and the spa couldn't drive to my room
Location was excellent, nice and clean surroundings, excellent views Layout of room, little odd, tv cabinet was facing the door (no place to sit in front of tv). Almost all programmes on tv had a fee associated, which really surprised us (especially, since the daily rate is towards higher side)
Location was excellent, with views of nearby Golden Gate Bridge. San Francisco skyline was also visible across the water. The room was large and very comfortable. The setting was lovely and peaceful. The meals, though well presented and tasty, were overpriced. If we stayed there again, we'd probably go out to restaurants in Sausalito.
Great historic location. No airconditioning....bad on warm night. Breakfast was expensive and not good.
The staff were very welcoming and professional. The bar was good fun and the food excellent. Breakfast was also very good. Our room was a long way from the bar and restaurant. Walking between the two in heavy rain was no fun! Sometimes housekeeping were a bit slow.
We equally enjoyed the view from the glass-enclosed porch of our historic building of the San Francisco skyline and the stunning panorama of the bay under the Golden Gate Bridge.
Awesome views of Golden Gate bridge and San francisco city (we got seriously lucky with the weather - there was no fog). The hike on Marin Headlands offers beautiful vistas. The resort has good restaurants & very good service. The open field provides a good area for kids to play. The field was uneven
Better than my first hotel, had a comforter and heating. Wasn't fancy but for the price it had everything you need, bed, good pillows, fridge, bathroom with working shower, TV and cable. Did have burn spots in carpet but that didn't hinder anything. Mmmhhh only thing was battery's in the remotes.

The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very well maintained.
convenient location very run down, old amenities. close to highway
Super retro aesthetic, easy access to gas, grocery, In n Out burger, sites around Marin County, etc. Staff was nice, appears to be family run which was cool. Definitely outdated but we expected as much for the price. Right on highway so couldn't keep windows open and there was no AC, just a fan. heater seemed to linger on even after we turned the air off. First AM housekeeper knocked kind of early
Close to shopping. Gross and dated. Smoke detector was not hooked up!

location Everyting is too old for the price. The room had NO ac. Should be a $-- a night room.
The location is perfect for what we wanted to do, which is the only reason I booked a one-star motel. The price is OK for the area. This is one of the seediest places I've ever stayed. One star is generous. The owners are Indian and not very communicative. The room was too small, no air conditioning (and triple digit temperatures) and not very clean. But the location and price-OK
The bed was comfortable, it was clean. Our unit had full kitchen, but no utensils, pans, kettle,or coffee maker! Couldn't use it. I doubt other units have one. Right on 101 freeway, Could have been more comfortable with a little more effort - paper towels in holder, an entry mat - for rain footprints on tile, nothing to wipe up with. Bathroom shelf, since it only has a small sink. Light-blocking curtains. $$$
The price range. It was located near the place where the wedding of my granddaughter was to take place. Not really.
Comfortable bed, cheapest in area. Noisy by hwy, older, no queen bed, only doubles although reservation said otherwise. Small room (squeeze around bed to get to bathroom).
Huge room, wonderful beds, quiet, updated facilities, friendly management Breakfast/snack area was small
Great customer service! Nothing!
The Marin Lodge was charming and clean and completely redone recently. Rooms were cozy and comfortable with nice accommodations and we will be back!! Would HIGHLY recommend staying here!
The staff was very kind with my very late 11:30pm check in. Also they have free water bottles! The room was elegantly decorated with IKEA stuffs but it was comfortable. We liked it very much. We would definitely stay there again.
We loved this place. We would have stayed longer if we would have found it sooner. the bed was comfortable, the room had all the amenities you would expect; TV, hair dryer, microwave, iron, etc. They have a free continental breakfast of blueberry muffins and fresh fruit and coffee as well as complimentary sodas and bottled water The parking was very limited but I believe it was due to the construction which was apparently for remodeling as we noticed a distinct smell of fresh paint. It was a little far to drive from local eateries unless you are familiar with the area.
The location is great - close to downtown San Rafael. Also, it is a good value for your money, since other hotels seem to be way more expensive. The hotel manager was also a nice guy. It was a nice quaint hotel. Main problem was the hot water was not on when we tried to take a shower in the morning. Apparently they were doing some work in our unit, and jumped the gun on turning off the water ahead of time. Also, the phone did not work as well. The actual room was also pretty small - basically a studio room.
Great staff, clean quiet room, ample parking.
We loved it here and will stay here again everytime we need an overnight in the city! It was perfect for catching the Larkspur ferry as its just minutes away. This made our Super Bowl activities that much easier. The owners were fantastic and made us feel like family. Can't wait to come back!!!
Quiet, clean, good direct room access, attractive surroundings, convenient location room rate was at about the limit of what I could comfortably afford to pay.
Close to everything we wanted to do. Not exactly the easiest of places to find but once located all ok- in very congested area.
Extremely friendly and courteous staff. Free wifi and parking. Room had a slightly odd smell (like heavy perfume).

location navigating television - could be easier with broader premium choices.
close to the ferry Very cheaply put together compared to other Marriot Courtyards I've stayed at.
I booked two rooms for my family. They arrived before me and the front desk insisted that there was only one room booked - although it looked pretty clear that there were two rooms under two different names on the reservation. (The hotel was not full.)
Very courteous staff on at the reception Very rude blond bar woman. Passive aggressive attitude, careless, disinterested, unattentive.
The staff was very helpful. I think was great all around.
Comfy and quiet No included breakfast for the price paid for the room
We simply needed a place to stay between Napa Valley and Marin Headlands. This is a great location with brunch, yoga/cycle studios, juice shops and more all within walking distance. It's right near the highway- perfect! Nope!
The service from the staff; front desk, housekeeping. All of your people there are friendly and enthusiastic to provide exceptional service The distance from the front desk to my room. Even after agreeing to give me a room near the lobby, my only request, I was given a roomote than halfway across the hotel, past the conference center. Also it's time to upgrade the bathroom to glass showers
This is a fun place to stay really close to the center of Sausalito, excellent restaurants close by, excellent views of San Francisco, easy access to Golden Gate and the Marine Headlands park.
Great location, wonderful room, really just an exquisite little place. Loved the wine and cheese at 5:30; had to check out before breakfast, though. :( The glum, unfriendly guy who checked us in. Thankfully, he was replaced a short while later by a smiling, friendly woman.
Walking distance to all of the cool spots in Sausalito. Staff was very helpfull.
The location is stunning with an amazing view of the city accross the bay from the outside decking, take your breakfast tray out on to the deck on a nice day. Even number rooms look out over a very busy adjoining restaurant deck which can be pretty noisy.
The hotel is quite lovely, with a nice deck overlooking the bay. The hotel is located next to a restaurant with outdoor seating, which is quite noisy, even after midnight. Parking for the hotel is a city lot; they will "validate" your parking ticket, but will charge you for it on your bill.
Sitting on the deck overlooking the water enjoying breakfast in the morning and wine and cheese in the afternoon. Beautiful setting.
Easy proximity to shopping & restaurants - lovely views of water & boating. great staff
Location. Deck. Wine hour!
This charming place was really easy to find and I can't wait to stay there next time I go to the San Francisco area!
Access to garden Very basic. No A/C, no fans, cant open window. Not planning to stay there again, not recommend.
I liked the area and the privacy. This was unique and not like any standard hotel room. Also, I was able to have my small dog stay with us. There was some difficulty for us since my mother uses a walker, and she needed to negotiate one or two steps.
This hidden gem is perfection--truly like something out of 'Victoria' magazine. If you need a break from the big city (San Francisco is a short 1/2 hour away), this is the place. Close to fun shops and great eateries in a classic CA neighborhood.
Great central location within easy walking distance to shops and resturants.Wonderful outdoor space for entertaining guests.Very friendly and helpful owner. No central heating or air conditioning.
Privacy, and ambiance. No.
