Located in Fresnes, Maison D'Hote Le Relais is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Abbey of Fontenay and Alesia Museum Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Everything - room, food, host, location - we have returned once and hope to go back again.
Pros: The quietness of the surrounding. And the jam in the breakfast.
Cons: Only a small bin in the room. The bed is not supportive enough.
Pros: Great little place to stay who offers dinner and breakfast onsite. The owner doesn’t speak English but that didn’t stop us from finding a way to communicate and get everything we needed. The dinner was fantastic! It’s a great little place out in the country but not too far from town. We just needed a place to spend the night and this fit the bill perfectly.

Pros: Bed very comfy Staff great, very clean lovely walks along canal
Pros: Freshly renovated rooms well set out and close to Gare and shops. Perfect lodging for velo du Canal du Bourgogne.
Pros: It was clean.
Cons: No shower curtain. No way to do laundry or hang up wet clothes. No amenities.
Pros: this is the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Very comfortable and good value, right on the Canal.
Cons: The blue colours was a little over the top.
Pros: I would love to give this hotel 5 stars, because it ticked nearly all the boxes for a budget stopover - clean, comfortable, helpful staff and most things worked as expected. The breakfast was basic but good and reasonably priced.
Cons: However there were a few little niggles - there was no shower curtain, the curtain on the main window did not cover the window and there was just not enough storage for clothes etc.
Pros: This is not a typical French rural hotel, although it looks like it from the outside. But I like what the young owners are trying to do. Its a basic hotel with basic facilities, but the rooms are newly renovated in the modern style and are very clean. They were very friendly and looked after my bicycle for 3 days. Very near the station. Will definitely go back.
Pros: Good location for catching the train.Basic but clean. Great free WiFi.
Pros: very helpful staff, but very noisy road traffic beginning about 5AM

Pros: Good stop over location for a visit to Fontenay Abbey (only 3 Km up the road).
Cons: Tiny garret bedroom with double bed against a wall - bathroom was bigger than bedroom!
Pros: It's a small hotel, a little old fashioned maybe but perfectly clean and comfortable. The room was big, the bathroom almost bigger, and the Wi-Fi was strong. A 10-minute drive from Montbard train station for the TGV and very closer to the Abbaye de Fontenaie, just up the hill. Lovely bar and restaurant next door, run by the same people; the steak is particularly good.
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Clean and luminous room, and nice location.
Cons: the room I was in is below the roof and the bathroom is not very comfortable (though clean and well kept)
Pros: Tiny double room on third floor, no air con but two fans, no frig but a TV, a fair price. Hosts very friendly.
Pros: The cleanliness was good and although it was small it had an ensuite and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: The hotel, restaurant is on the corner of a road used by large trucks and they are a little noisy. The hotel is the only eating place that we saw nearby and it wasn’t very enticing. We had brought our own food luckily.
Pros: Very good breakfast for only 8€!
Pros: Very friendly owners. Food was good
Cons: Nothing really
Pros: Good Breakfast, everywhere clean, friendly staff and owners.
Cons: Wouldhave like coffee to be available in room.
Pros: Balcony, huge bed, clean and beautiful bath room. Wifi working also outside by the romantic tables. Extra good food and nice, smiling personnel. Beautiful view. Good for pets and small children too. In the middle of the village but still quiet. Good coffee:) 300% from 100! It is a lovely place. I was in a single room. Two persons of the same choir were beside my room, and none of us had problems. The whole choir of 40 persons had lunch at the same place. Even on Sunday when the place was full with people waiting for eating the personnel was nice and quiet, hurrying to give food fastly but helpfully for everyone. Quite running but constantly smiling and helping. It was coffee and fruits and they were really patient when we tried to make a little rehearsal in the dinning room...Thank you! In the other room there was a man with a beautiful big dog so the place is really prepared for people with pets. It is good for people with bike too. The food is special for here so it was mustard sauce (I think because it is region of Dijon), and coque in wine sauce, extra fine even for French people. Good cakes and desserts. The village is very good for walking and watching nature (I found forest fruits beside the way to Fontenay). There are beautiful monuments and regional places near here. The church is beautiful, but for Cetholics the Holy Mass is in Montbard, 2,5 km. Local people are very nice if you try to speak French. I speak very little French but I was talking with people about their life, the place etc. The personnel is speaking French but if you don't it is not a problem, they try to understand English and help you. On the phone too...
