room was very large and it is central in the old town. Great old fashioned family run french hotel. shower was cold and noisy pump in bathroom.
Centrally located, in one of the prettier spots in Montbard I found the staff unhelpful, sometimes to the point of rudeness. We ate in the restaurant once and although the food was very good, the stiff, formal and unfriendly service made the meal much less enjoyable than it should have been. Other hotel restaurants in the area were much more pleasant. We were charged for breakfasts we didn't eat and when I noticed this after paying I decided to waste the money rather than have another conversation with them. They were the only reason I wouldn't recommend this hotel, so if you're not bothered by that sort of thing you might like it. There is no lift.
An excellent hotel in a beautiful little town - superb restaurant and comfortable rooms. Service friendly and efficient The only drawback is a lack of parking space. We were able to use the hotel garage but it has only one parking slot - some limited 'reserve' slots outside
dinner shower not working, no elevator
Evening meal waqs excellent, however the second night the service was very bad, I waited 30 minutes and no menu appeared, so I got up and left. Service was not in keeping with the food, no professional approach, breakfast was less than I have found in other hotels in the area. General attitude of staff poor.
the restaurant standard was first-class. lack of friendliness by staff.
Wonderful and unique property.
Wonderful surrounding, nice rooms and excellent breakfast
Everything. The room, the common areas, the restaurant, the library - just great
This hotel was perfectly adequate for our purpose of breaking the journey from the UK to Italy, and was good value for money. The design of the shower in the room that we were given was poor and could result in injury.
very clean & comfortable. Helpfull staff.
Beautiful setting. Terrific outdoor space. Wonderful communal space. Mediocre service staff. Confusing check-in. No communication of hotel service habits. No room clean-up or bed make-up. No phones in rooms. No way to contact any hotel staff in the evenings for extra pillow or necessary toilet paper. Had to "borrow" pillows from a sofa. Terrible coffee in morning (and we love French coffee and this was bad: weak, taseless.)
Loved the room and the enjoyed relaxing with friends in the adjacent comfortable lounge and balcony. Very good breakfast. Enjoyed using sauna and spa for a modest fee. Interesting architecture and decor. Country setting with great views over the valley. Location good for several day trips to the nearby tourist sites. Very friendly service Unable to use WIFI in our room or common area during the 3 days we were there.
We have stayed here before and will stay again when in the area. The location makes it easy to explore the whole region from the tranquility of the countryside location. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. The restaurant "on the hill" serves a reasonable 4 course set menu and a small choice of pretty good wine. We love this place!!
This is an unusual hotel where the rooms are located in several buildings around very tranquil gardens and ancient orchards. With orientation to the common areas - library, lounge with self serve beverages, breakfast room and gardens, we learned about the area as well as our hosts and hotel. We had very substantial breakfasts and a delicious dinner using organic produce and locally sourced food. The hotel is built on quite a steep hillside and does not have an elevator. Not suitable for people with ambulation difficulties.
Old stone buildings renovated into hotel rooms. Rooms are all different, decorated with antiques and funky garage sale furnishings. Really great communal living room with books and tv etc. Decent bed unlike much of european 2 star hotels. The "town" of Villeferry where Le Verger is located is not much more than a small collection of houses but it is close to other small towns that are worth day trips like highly reccomended Semur-en-Auxois. Nice quite in the country place to stay. Suberb help and welcome from Julian.
Proximity to Semur was good with great views. Hotel was well-appointed. Staff were efficient. Bit soulless.
The hotel is situated near to the old village, worth a visit. Good pool and comfotable rooms with good food and wine. No complaints
Perfect place, not far from the city, and perfect comfort in the bedroom.
The staff friendliness. Good secure parking, important for overnight stop
Verry friendly hotel staff
The location was excellent for our trip to the coupe moto legende, stayed here before and would stay again, lovrly bar across the road that serves great food at a reasonable cost. A better breakfast with ham, cheese or maybe bacon and eggs.Other wise very good
It was fine and good , and lots of parking facility's
The room was a reasonable size and very clean. It was quite hot and the room had no air conditioning and poor ventilation.
Unventilated lobby - phew!
location suited our journey arrangements and the adjacent restaurant was extremely satisfactory. Price was reasonable despite devaluation of the pound. none
Good location, easy to find, friendly staff (English is spoken), comfortable rooms, secure undercover parking available. Not a bad point about the hotel at all, but please note that (at the moment) for evening meals the nearest places are around 3km away in Chatillon-sur- Seine. There is a pizzeria across the road from the hotel, but it was closed for refurbishment when we stayed!
Secure parking for free in the hotel's garage. Good room.
