The gardens and grounds were absolutely beautiful - flowering plants, herbs, trees, all meticulously maintained. The accommodations were very attractive - all decorated in excellent taste. A beautiful, peaceful place. Food and wine and lodging were all excessively expensive. Not much to do there, no tennis courts, for example.
Lush greenery. Bed was very uncomfortable! Very noisy, difficult to sleep! Room lights were too dim in the sink area. No tissue in the room.
Great breakfast in the adjoining restaurant! My private balcony had a bright light on all night which I could not turn off. Some other balconies may have had this but most did not.
Location is convenient to central Santa Barbara and pool area is very nice. Little to no soundproofing between rooms, particularly at floors. Request an upper floor room if you don't want to hear everything happening above you.
Good price for the location and for a short stay. TV, patio and bed were good. Not the most updated of hotels. It was clean, but because of the older fixtures and tiles/carpet it made it seem just super old.
Patio with table and chairs and the open back to court yard and pool. No micro or fridge for the price that was payed. But this will be the place I stay when in Santa Barbara.

Parking was close to the room. Pool was big. Loved the patio area leading to the pool. Bathrooms need a bit of an update. There was a big spider crawling up the wall beside one of the beds when we arrived.

It's the Four Seasons, what else needs to be said? Every detail is cared for and it was just a great relaxing experience. The Staff was more than accommodating and went out of their way to take car of our every need. We loved our stay and we will be back since this is now our new favorite place to stay. Although we had a beautiful pool side room, we never where unable to secure four lounge chairs together for our family. We had to pay $200 extra a day to go across the street to the Coral Casino and enjoy that pool. Although we loved it at the Coral Casino Pool, their should be some consideration made for those who can not secure lounging at the main pool next to their room to be allowed to use the Coral Casino pool without this additional cost. Especially if seating is unavailable as it was for us by the hotel main pool.
Location, the room No Wi-fi, no shower cap, and the fees for every little thing (like parking, food) were very high.
The gardens are spectacular and walking to and from room was pleasant stroll. Room was silent sanctuary as was the private patio. Other hotels could learn a great deal by experiences all the small details of simplicity. Nothing fancy, just classic. Delightful place. Every employee seemed proud of their work and part of a team. That is rare.
The service and property are the best we've seen in southern California we really enjoyed our stay and it's such beautiful scenery that you must stay at this hotel the food was delicious and they even have a car to take you where ever you want to go so you don't have to worry about driving after an all day wine tasting. The concierge will set up tours for you and give you advice on which placeset to visit while you are there a 5 star hotel hands down
The location was across the beach from the waterfront and a block from the main drag of downtown SB so it was a perfect location. The hotel grounds, the main lobby, and the areas open to the public were very nice. That being said, that was the only nice part about this hotel. Oh, and the valet were extremely polite. And a 12pm checkout. The hotel is very large and we walked around for quite a while with our luggage in hand to find the entrance to our building. We we were asked upon check-in if we had a map, but never actually shown where on the map our room was. When we did finally locate the room, adjacent to the elevators (very noisy), the room was horrible. Why we were placed in the disabled accessible room was beyond me for my family of four. At least if there were no more rooms, please let me know upon check-in. I started to make a fuss, but we were only there for one night and to be honest, the lobby was super far and my fiance and I had just carried all the luggage to the room ourselves and were sweating and we had to meet our family for dinner soon. There was no rod to hang our clothes in the closet, but there were several hangars on a hook that I have no clue what I was supposed to do with. The entire bathroom looked like one giant shower with a drain in the middle and the grout looked so dirty, I felt uncomfortable walking in the room at all without my flip flops. The room itself looked as modern/updated as a Motel 6 (no offense Motel 6) but for the cost of the Ritz-Carlton. I was totally unimpressed. I was told there was a free continental breakfast so we headed there the next morning but when my eighteen year old daughter asked the host if this is where we the "free breakfast was," the host corrected her and said, "It's not free-it's complimentary and you need vouchers from the front-desk." Last time I checked, those two words meant the same thing. We all walked over to the concierge desk and I told him we didn't receive vouchers and he responded, "That room doesn't usually qualify for the breakfast. It's only for the upper tiers and Hilton Honors." Shocked by his tone and disbelieving, I repeated the room number and I asked if he were sure. His response was identical and he looked down and continued doing whatever menial task he was doing before. We were dismissed. Never would I stay in this hotel again, no matter what the cost. Unattractive rooms and the worst customer service ever. I loved the Doubletree until this.
The location. The fact when we wanted to open the wine bottle in the room we had to pay 10 dollars to get a bottle opener ! People's clothes left from previous stayers, stuff also under bed. We were told about the wonderful omlettes for breakfast but again this was extra !
If you want to be able to walk to the beach and walk to shopping, this place is terrific. The pool was clean and double tree cookies are always a nice touch. The staff seems to be pretty well managed. Except for one bar tender, I got the feeling the management must spend time training in hospitality. For the price, (I paid about $360 a night for a standard room) the property in general looks pretty ragged. The rooms and hallways are in need of an upgrade. Even a few days later, I'm still thinking about spending over $50 for my daughter and I to eat some scrambled eggs and drink coffee.
As it was our honeymoon they upgraded us to an ocean view room. Nice location on sea front. Hotel is huge so takes ages to get to your room to lobby. Annoying if you forget anything! Pool area small.

We stayed more than a week and the personnel was always very nice and ready to help you. Accomodations (outdoor swimming pool, sauna, health center, mini golf & tennis corts) are very good and well maintained. Restaurants, bar & Pool terrasse served excellent food. Our room was large, quite & well located within the resort. Easy to go to the large Santa Barbara beach. Not too far from Santa Barbara main street (shopping, restaurants, ...). Expensive daily parking fee (18 USD per day) even there is no real alternative. Expensive laundry services. Not enough space around the outdoor swimming pool to relax & enjoy (mainly on Friday, Saturday & Sunday). Too often, not enough persons to serve you at breakfast time and lunch time in August (waiting time is too higher for such location!).

I proposed to my Fiance at the Bacara and it was the perfect place. I set up all the plans through the concierge in the weeks leading up to the trip and everything was taken care of perfectly...and then some! The staff went above and beyond for us and made it the perfect place for the proposal. If the resort itself wasn't already enough, the staff helped make it the most special time for my fiance and I. I will definitely be coming back and i recommend the hotel 100%.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Couldn't have been more helpful. The pools are warm and clean, there were good waves at the beach. I have seen complaints about no self parking, there is, it's about 500 ft before the main entrance, it says bacara, could not be more clear!! Not one thing. Serious!

Helpful, friendly staff who were on it to help you at any turn. Beautiful room, gorgeous pools, lovely setting. Deck of pool should be scrubbed down at night ( lots of food waste, ketchup, etc left from previous days) and hot tubs could use a drain and scub/beach situation, a bit smelly.

Location is great, and the ground are fantastic to explore. We traveled not during peak season and received what we thought was a great rate, however our discounted rate translated into a down grade in room and service was compromised.
The place is gorgeous. The bell service took over an hour to deliver my bags so my kids basically missed out on swimming that afternoon. The "Beach House" was closed so there were no amenities available at the beach: towels, board rentals, refreshments, etc... This was not made clear anywhere before arriving down at the beach. I was told it was past the end of "beach season" but the weather was beautiful and it was the weekend.

Same lobby , drive up entrance- like elavator was not working the enire stay there. I almost brought my parents. Would have been a disaster without elevator. they should have alerted all incoming guests prior to coming in. New room decor was inferior to the original decor. Pool water nice and warm- like. Jacuzzi jets were weak, alomost non-existant. dissapointed that they removed the Sauna. friendly staff- like.
It was an absolutely gorgeous hotel. No two rooms are alike. Classical feel with a few modern embelishments. Heated pool was wonderful and hot tub was great. The staff could have been more approachable and proactively helpful. I saw a lot of forheads (looking down at computer screens or otherwise "busy" despite no guests at the desk. The hot water situation was less than ideal. Nosy yet what combination you did, it would periodically get scorching hot then cold, then resume a tolerable temperature for a few minutes.
Very nice hotel, great staff, and it's so nice to get breakfast in the morning. Only complaint was we have little kids and so needed a room with two beds and the full beds are a bit small...even though they were very comfortable.

Great location. Beautiful and close to shops on State Street. I also loved the linens and the soaps in our room. I had a great nights sleep. Other reviews complained about not being able to check in until 4:00. That is the policy so you should plan for 4:00. They stick to the policy. There is plenty to do within walking distance. They let us park our car and called us when the room was ready at about 3:30. For the price, there should be a microwave and refrigerator in the room. There was a stocked minibar refrigerator, but no place for my things.
I really liked our room, it had a decent view of the ocean over looking the pool. The walk-in shower is always a plus, big bathroom, comfy bed, fast internet with lan and wifi, perfect location for beach and downtown access, balcony to sit outside and enjoy the weather, and lastly they actually have a lot of good tv channels to sift through at night before bed It's dumb, but I really didn't like that the tv is bolted into the wall with no hdmi access whatsoever. I usually always have my macbook on me for work and it has an hdmi out to view on flat screen tvs. This was actually my first experience where I couldn't hook it up. It's minimal but I was bummed cause I stay up later than most and would of like to watch something of mine. Nothing major at all hahah. Parking is a little minimal as well and tight. I'd advise leaving your car in a spot once you get one. UBER is extremely cheap in Santa Barbara and they're are plenty of drivers.

Great location with incredible staff who made sure my stay was top notch. They made my stay worth it. Room was becoming worn and torn, with some awkward elements like a flat screen in the bathroom that was too big for the space. I understand they're going for chic, but ultimately fell flat and was silly. Less is more.
Ian at the front desk was absolutely phenomenal. He went way out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, and gave us a fantastic recommendation for dinner. The valets were extremely pleasant, willing to help and attentive They seem to be a bit understaffed.
The restaurant and bar were very nice. Fabulous staff. We will be staying again in July as our daughter is getting married very close to the hotel. The individuals we talked to in setting up several suite reservations and possibly doing a bridal lunch were somewhat customer service lacking.
In heart of downtown SB, walking distance to Granada Theatre and dining/retail, beautiful Spanish Mission styling. Excellent service at valet parking, front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping. Wonderful canopy bed but definitely used the step stool. Only thing missing was a ottoman to put up your feet. Absolutely nothing. Expensive but worth the splurge.

Excellent customer service in all aspects of the hotel. Checkin was awesome. Service at the restaurant and bar was great. It's a decent value in the Santa Barbara area. I've never been to a Kimpton prior but from my friends descriptions of other Kimptons this one is their budget friendly version where there's still a lot of style for the money though. It feels like a re-vamped 70's hotel that it is. I wish they had spent a little more money on replacing the door and window to something more sound proof and secure. You can see the outside between the door and the doorframe. For some reason you have to pull up on the door handle to open the door which made us think that the door was malfunctioning when it would open the normal way. For a new remodel there seems to be a bit more wear and tear than expected but maybe that's part of the 70's modern industrial design. The restaurant manager was berating his employees in front of the customers, which was really sad as the employees were super nice and helpful.
Lovely decor, but what's better are their attentions to details. There's a happy hour every afternoon, activities, and in your room a record player and an ipod doc, for those in to retro or modern. What a great hotel!

Goodland Hotel Goleta was awesome! The staff was super accommodating and I am definitely going back again. The place was so tastefully decorated and the food at the Outpost was pretty damn good. Love it! Nothing!
I liked the style of the hotel, sorta a funky vintage modern. I appreciated the record player abd Beach Boys vinyl in the room. The large shower was also welcome. Room was really quite small with no desk. This wasnt a working trip, so not a big deal. Also the cool armchair in my room had ropes across the armrests, which were really uncomfortable.

The restaurant had a solid chestnut soup. From other's reviews, this seems to have been a decent hotel at some point in time. It no longer is. Insects in the room, dusty, dirty bathroom, etc.

The location is great, close to everything. The staff was pleasant. The rooms really need to be extensively remodeled, at the very least. It feels like a 50 year old building. Relatively clean, but after this much use, it feels, looks, and smells old. Astonishingly bad value - we paid well over $500/night for a second floor ocean view room. If it had been half that, I would have said it was about right for the money.
nothing specific, ordinary this was my first stay at this location, which I chose because of the Hyatt name. I asked for a "if possible" a room with a view of the ocean, the front office person responded by saying, " I see that you reserved a ordinary room" and she assigned me a room with a view looking over the parking lot. During my stay there, I did see many empty parking spaces in the lot, which requires an additional charge of $26.00 (twenty six dollars), and based on this observation, I think that the hotel was not full ? In any case, would I go back to this hotel, based on this experience, my response is NO ! Many other accommodations in the same area with better value. thanks,
The location and view of the ocean across the street is great. Way overpriced for the mediocre room/facilities. You're paying for the ocean view and Santa Barbara. The bathroom was small and dirty - the toilet wasn't functioning properly and the shower had clumps of hair in it. The elevator jolted upon the doors closing and had an expired permit in it. The AC unit was very loud and mounted near the head of the bed - it was so loud we had to turn it off to sleep, and it was a hot/humid evening. Over $350/night and I had a 'view' of the motel 6 outside of my window. Overall disappointed.
Bar staff was rude and uncooperative. Front desk, informed us that we were being upgraded. Our room was next to the physical fitness center, on the outside of the hotel security door. We were awoken throughout the night by people saying long good nights outside our door. Then first thing in the morning the cleaning staff had a meeting just outside our door. We waited over an hour to talk to a manager in order to report our concerns and by then it was time to check out. We waited a bit longer and were told that the manager would not be coming in to work. In the meantime, a long line of people had gathered to check out. We left without being able to share our concerns.

Not much to like there Old, run down and grossly overpriced. Garbage truck visits every morning - noise as if it is parking in your room. Oh yes, do not forget freeway noise - omnipresent. We were seduced by the brand name and made a mistake. Not all Hyatt properties are made equal. This one is a dump.
Location is great...and that's all After paying over $400 a night being charged to park at $28 a night is ridiculous. The bathroom toilet leaked onto the floor the caulking in tub was peeling and had black mold. Read other reviews and avoid this place. Feds Parker would have been a much better choice as we've stayed there before.
Staff was excellent, made our stay special. Beautiful views of the ocean from our room/private terrace. Comfortable beds and maid service was great. Must pay each day for parking ($28) in addition to hotel price. Street parking was hard to find at times at night. Unclear if water was filtered, must use tap as bottled water was not provided. Layout of buildings is a bit confusing.
Being across the street from the beach was wonderful. The staff were very helpful. Parking was very easy The only downside was that our room was next to the stair case and we could hear everyone walking up and down!

Location was great. The property is under renovation and we were put off site from the main hotel in a very dingy, musty smelling and not very clean room. The furniture was beat up, the toilet rocked, the curtains were pulled from the rod - the property is in pretty bad shape. Not what I expected from a Hyatt, from the overall rating by most travel sites (4 stars) or for the price but from the looks of other reviews, I guess some guests have had a better experience than we had. Very disappointed and I would not recommend.

If you need a place to take a deep breath and relax, Simpson House Inn is it. From our personal greeting when we arrived until we said good-bye, the friendly staff catered to our every need. Hedges surround the secluded Victorian home making it a true get-away. The room was beautifully decorated with antiques, meticulously clean, and very comfortable. The pillows and bedding were first-class and made for an excellent night’s sleep. The complimentary Kiehl’s bath and body products made getting clean delightful. At our romantic table for two on the veranda we were served amazing vegetarian breakfasts (banana pancakes were my favorite) on cherished family china. In the afternoon, we enjoyed a few too many of the fresh-baked cookies. The evening Hors d’oeuvres were truly delectable. We like good food – and we were not disappointed! In-between eating, we spent time sitting in the beautiful garden, listening to the soothing fountain, and admiring the sprawling Oak Tree. We strolled downtown, walked through nearby parks, visited a museum, and drove to Solvang. Our stay was a trip back in time, yet with all of the modern comforts – including Wi-Fi, television and a mini-fridge. Thank you Simpson House for the perfect vacation.
Staff is all very friendly and helpful. Location is great, walked to State Street, restaurants and shopping. Also beach, wharf and Funk Zone is walkable distance. Pricey, but then Santa Barbara is overall.

Beautiful place to stay! I loved the fountain and being able to hear it from my room. The linens were soft and luxurious. The soaking tub was relaxing. I loved the spanish style and elegant touches such as the tile and bath fixtures. The continental breakfast was great. I wish there was more of a variety of food on the room service menu.

This was a very quaint hotel. It is a perfect place if you enjoy more of a 'bed & breakfast' inn-like experience (rather than a major hotel or resort experience). The staff was very friendly and made you feel like you were a guest in their home. Large, clean rooms. If you are accustomed to staying at larger, higher-end hotels and getting the full 'brand experience', this may be a bit dissapointing. My previous location before stopping here was the Ritz in San Francisco. The two locations are worlds apart. Again, the staff couldn't be nicer and the rooms were large and clean, but the facility did have a city 'grit' to it. This is a solid 3 star experience. But if you were expecting a 4- or 5- star stay, you may be dissapointed.

This hotel understands that it's the little things that make a difference. From the room decor to the fresh mixed berries with the daily continental breakfast, the hotel felt like a quaint B&B. The hotel staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Not the hotel's fault, but the ocean view was obstructed by freeway bush overgrowth. The city/county should allow hotels to remove natural view obstructions at the hotel's expense. I wasn't crazy about the train blowing it's horn at 3am and 7am either.

Eagle Inn is an attractive, clean, and well-maintained property, and is close to Santa Barbara's happening spots. We were in room 102, right off the lobby, and adjacent to the breakfast room. At 7am every morning, there commenced from above and all sides such a clamor as to make sleeping past that hour impossible. Perhaps an upstairs room, away from the lobby would be better.

Our family of four had a great time at the Eagle Inn. Lovely rooms & super bathrooms. Breakfast was prepared and served individually. They even had cruiser bikes available that we used to explore Santa Barbara, which, given the super location, was easy to do. We liked the place so much, so didn't mind that there was only one queen bed per room. Rooms are too small for two beds, but fine with one bed. We also had one person who couldn't have taken the stairs, and were lucky to have downstairs room. Not sure if there was an elevator, so visitors should check for availability of downstairs rooms.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 days 2 nights as a getaway trip from work and we loved our little cottage! We booked the Santa Cruz Cantina and it was perfect for us! We loved the separate rooms and facilities within our own private little house. The only problem we had with our room was that the drains in the bathroom sink and bath tub didn't drain properly. The plug seemed to be stuck and had to be lifted/taken out by hand in order for water to drain.
A beautiful hotel with really nice comfortable rooms. In a great location only minutes away from the beach and a 10 minute walk from the main nightlife.

The hotel felt old and worn out. The Wi-Fi didn't work consistently. The tub didn't drain and even a short shower resulted in standing in ankle deep water.
We had such a great time and were extremely pleased with the West Beach Inn! Everything about the hotel was perfect.....the staff, the room, the grounds and the pool were exceptional!
Cute, cozy and quiet place with a very friendly staff. Rooms were pretty small but clean and updated. The beds/pillows were very comfortable. Close enough walk to State Street. Would stay here again.
the staff was great, we were greeted with wine, we had to change rooms and they were very accommodating. there were little gnats or fruitflies in our rooms (we changed rooms and the fruitflies were there too)- the bathrooms could've been cleaner- the tub had hair in it and could use a little bleach in the corners
Bed was comfortable The walls are so thin that you hear conversations next door and people walking and even moving in their bed above you. If you stay here, at least insist on an upper level room.
Great cozy place. Heated pool and spa were excellent. Felt very safe. Close to everything. AC did not work.
Location close to the ocean and nice comfort areas. The bathroom was old, probably needs new plumbing fixtures. Also the tiles were very slippery. Refrigerator wasn't working, and ice machines are located in remote areas of the hotel grounds. The room was hot and humid, might need central air to help with this problem.
Can't beat the location right on the beach. Grounds are nicely landscaped and beautiful. Handy to have the continental breakfast provided (nothing special but ample fruit, cereal, muffins and coffee). Friendly staff. Rooms are sparse; walls are paper thin between rooms; all hotel room doors slam when closed, shaking our room each time hotel guests come and go. $30 a day extra to park on-site plus valet tips adds up quickly. Except for the fabulous location, hotel guest room feels like a Motel 6 (and we had a partial ocean view deluxe room!)
hotel milo was had lovely grounds. everything was nice quality and very comfortable. across the street from the beach and a close walk to state st. the staff (especially Sam!) was very nice and helpful. the walls were quite thin and I could every word from the people in the hall or those at the pool.
The room was hot, tiny and extremely uncomfortable. You couldn't even open the window because they had martini glasses, wine bottles, snacks etc in the way. There was no AC and only a fan. If they would invest in some AC units, it would have at least been tolerable. Some of the staff were rude as well. And it was overpriced. Don't stay here, stay anywhere else.
Location and bikes they provide Remodel going on upstairs from our room. Front desk never told us about it going on. Very noisy and they started at 7:45-7:00 pm
Absolutely loved this place. The beds were so comfortable, the staff was as friendly as can be, the bike rental was perfect. We stayed in early November for the half marathon (husband and cousin ran it) and the location was perfect. We booked early so got a great price. If you wait, the rooms can be very pricey. It's all about location location location. But we loved it!!!!! Will be back soon.
Location, good beds. They charged a $30 a day for parking and a $15 resort fee. We stayed two nights so that was an unexpected extra $100. The next hotel we stayed at didn't play any of those games.
Location It was an apartment converted to hotel ( I guess) . Hardwood floor when walking made screeching noise ... Also from top floor as well ... When the neighbor rooms use the restroom the water they use in shower or flushing sound was felt like it's happening next to you .. Had only swimming and not enough bikes so don't expect that you will be able to get one.. The telephone was not working ..
Attractive grounds The room was tiny and very hot with no air circulating. We had to check out.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Can't beat the location. Incredibly loud drilling, construction or something going upstairs woke us up at 7 AM and wouldn't stop. That was a fun surprise. Tried to call the front desk multiple times with no answer. Eventually got moved to a different room where it was quieter but the hot water more or less didn't work. Also in the new room the overhead light for some insane reason randomly turned on at 6 AM every single morning and woke us up. Pillows left us with aching necks. For the money, the quality of this hotel was impossibly shitty. Staff were very friendly and helpful but whoever owns/runs this place is coasting on the location alone and keeps the rooms in an embarrassing state. Would not stay here again or recommend it.
Location, location, location Roommate couldn't get into room before 4pm when she arrived mid morning. Not sure what priorities are used to determine which room is cleaned first... was it because I booked through a travel metasearch engine rather than the hotel? Also really surprised that the printer needed a cartridge to print, and staff was not able to print our boarding passes on another printer.
Good location Extremely overpriced hotel. We paid over $400/ night for a room with king bed, so small that you couldn't walk around the bed, room was called Santa Barbara but it was smaller that any room I paid over $400/ night. The tub was very gross and smelly, the headboard to the bed was scratched and disgusting. No air conditioning. Not nice service at the front desk. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.

Only positive was the location and the proximity to Starbucks in the morning. Outdated furnishings that reminded me of the 1970s. Awkward layout of hotel so you can here everyone coming and going. Nothing upscale or even nice about the hotel and the $280 nightly rate is a joke. Hotel is in par with a motel 6.
I liked that it wasn't far from activities, but far enough to relax. I was surprised with how quite it was, with how close to State Street we were. The staff were very friendly and helpful! The rooms were very clean, the building its self is older, however, they seem to have kept up on it very well. When checking in, I was told the Internet info was provided on the room card and it was not, but that was a quick fix by just calling the office. They didn't have pool towels ready, but a staff brought them to us when they were dry. Everything I read said the pools were heated, but only one out of two pools were heated. The parking was alittle tight, I have a big truck, but it worked out. Nothing was bad enough to to not come back again. We will definitely stay here again. (:

For a one night stay it was good Facilities are very old, any time someone closed a door the whole building shook. My son was worried when he could hear the neighbors showering.
The maids were so helpful, welcoming and friendly. Did their utmost to make our stay comfortable. Even though we told the front desk when we arrived that we belonged to their Rewards program and were staying for three nights, they put us at the far end of the building where the workers had rooms. They woke up early, made lots of noise loading their trucks and same was true when they returned in the evening. The grounds looked overgrown and dirty. Bed was old and uncomfortable. Next time we will stay at Best Western on Calle Real in Goleta. Much nicer.
I liked the convenience to major restaurants and shopping. It was not too far from the beach. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I can't think of anything that I didn't like.
the ping pong table was great! and the heated pool was nice since it got chilly at night. also, the older man at the front desk was very nice. everything else. for example: bad lighting, hard sheets; poor TV service; bent screen on window which meant we couldn't get any air circulation in the room without letting mosquitoes in, which meant we had to endure the very loud A/C when we wanted air circulation; water from the bathroom sink smelled strongly of sulfur; lots of fruit flies/gnats in the room, and some spiders, too.... you get the point.
Conveniently located on State street. Short walk to downtown, and across the street from Cantwells deli/market. Recently remodeled, so everything is new and clean. Towels were nice and plush. My room was small, but that was fine. Decent free breakfast in the morning, and the coffee wasn't bad. A tad bit noisy if your room borders the street. But traffic dies down at night, so it didn't keep me awake. Wifi speeds/latency weren't great.
