I will NEVER stay here again.
They advertise $135 for 3 days including 10% tax...HOWEVER they charge $189 for the stay because of the tiny print indicating there is a $15 Room Service Fee. The owner had the audacity to laugh at my shock/distress...I work very hard for what little $ I earn and I tightly budget my spending. Also it doesn't feel good to be duped in this manner...I later checked: most motels in Monterey charge a $1 or $5 room service fee.
It had a fireplace.
Expensive! The toilet was not secured to the floor, nor was the seat to the toilet. Bed was very old and sagged quite badly on both sides. The whole place seemed quite run down.
I am still surprised no one has called the health department yet and shut down this place. The towels were stained and gross, when I asked for new ones the front desk man/manager grabbed 3 other towels with his greasy hands and put them on the dirty counter, they were touching the floor and he gave them to me as cleaner ones...they also had stains. The shower curtain had mold..a lot of it, the floor had huge white stains and blankets holes from cigarettes. ..and the smell..oh boy!
Location and friendly staff.
Friendly employees Bed was comfy Room was clean Free wifi Location Stayed here a few times, decent for what you pay
The smell in the office Thin walls Cold at nights because the door doesn't seal, fixed by turning on the fireplace
We it the room with the jacuzzi tub and really enjoyed it. It was really elm antic and relaxing. Price was worth it. Excellent location for exploring Monterey.
No complaints. The hotel is right on the street but if you are in one of the back row rooms I couldn't hear it.
I got two queen beds for a pretty cheap price. Located across from a shopping center with restaurants and Whole Foods market. I was able to book same day on Kayak. Parking was free and right in front of the room.
micro and a/c did not work in room #8. (Plug wasn't working) Floor leaked near refrigerator. Easy to hear everyone else walking up stairs and talking outside the window. Breakfast was basically muffins and cold cereal. No pool. You get 1 room key and have to turn it in at the end or be charged $20. Bathroom door did not lock.
The office and room smell bad like Indian spice. The bed and pillow cover smell bad.
That it was close to shopping, resturants, downtown, the Warf, and the Aqaurium.
The fact that they didn't have a hot tub or Jaccuzi/ Sauna maybe.
The bed was very comfortable.
The room was a little musty, but I would imagine that most of the hotels that close to the ocean are.
Gas fireplace was nice.
The bed was old and very hard and the pillows were like bricks. The "continental breakfast" was cut-up muffiins from Cosco.
Easy to find
Conforters was to old
the locatation was good and the price was right, we need a place to stay one night to break up our long trip but we were on a budget, the place was clean, friendly staff and we really enjoyed the fireplace.
the decor was a little off
room was nice
very basic breakfast
maybe the location is ok
the room was small, the breakfast was extremely poor
Centrally located in Monterey, easy access to shopping, nightlife, freeway and attractions.
Very nice value for the price
