Pros: The owner on arrival gave us a map and an abundance of info on where to go, what to do etc which was a massive help. Also has cars available for hire which we opted to do and I highly recommend doing. The accommodation was well kept, staff were great and it was good to have the double bed in tent option for something a little different. Also location was great.
Cons: It is a backpacker style accommodation so not super modern or flashy. But overall cant fault it.

Pros: The Best Place for a small family. We loved it and great value for money. The Manager was very helpful he went out of his way to get his Mechanic to help jump start out car when kids ran the battery out at Horseshoe Bay. Thank you very much.

Pros: The hostel was really comfortable and clean. Location was great and facilities were fine too. The room was big and had air cond, two TVs and a fan. Great hostel!

Pros: Excellent accommodation, easily accessible from the ferry terminal. Optional car hire & snorkling gear, very close to bush hikes across the island. Great nature watching spots close by (koalas, rock wallabies, birds). Lovely location with outdoors facilities that are kept very clean. We stayed in a safari tent which had electric lighting, power points and fan. Unfortunately only had one night there but would have loved to stay for a while longer. Highly recommend!

Pros: Fab location, jungle tent something a bit different. Had a fan and chargers in the tent which was great. Bed really comfortable. Amenities all brilliant - well equipped kitchen, free pool, clean bathrooms etc. Also hired an open top car at a very reasonable price and the owner was great giving us lots of tips off where to go on the island. Owner/workers fantastic, we just had news that airlines were stopping flying leaving us stuck in Australia. As we don't have an AUS SIM they let us borrow the phone, provided us with a beer and were so friendly. Also were able to leave our bags the whole next day and use showers before we caught a late ferry back to the mainland. Would definitely recommend if coming to magnetic Island!

Pros: Staff were very friendly and let us leave bags before checking in. The location was perfect and a short walk to the beach and the forts walk where you can spot a koala along the way. We stayed in a private double which looked newly renovated. Plenty of plugs and usb sockets and good aircon with the addition of a fan if it was too cold. The bar seemed to have plenty of deals and they served some decent bar snacks. There are events every night and it’s easy to meet new people if you want but also good for a relaxing getaway.
Cons: The only two main downsides are the bathrooms and kitchen facilities. They are both open to the elements meaning lots of bugs and grime. Pasta with a side of beetle wasn’t really our plan. The light wasn’t working in the toilets at the bar either and the bins were overflowing most of the day.

Pros: Nearest beach was Gregory Beach which I could see from my unit window. A nice quiet ground floor room on the far side of the resort, next to the guest pool with a good view. Resort was green with plenty of trees and birdlife including a tame curlew who did the rounds in the afternoon. I chose to self-cater but there are options for food and drink. A good vibe about the place. I will certainly visit again!

Cons: They only make up your room every third day "to save you money". Free internet is stated as inclusive but you really have to pay $20 for a 5 hour voucher. Our back patio was against the swimming pool which was nice but the band played LOUD on Friday and Saturday nights until late - no sleep before our early dive. The bistro food is barely average at best. Great bartender, lousy reception.

Pros: Great spot near Geoffrey bay and Alma bay! So close to shops, pub, and cafe.
Cons: Room smelled of possibly mould not sure but very funky. So much that we checked nearby hotels we knew for vacancies. We shut the lights off and opened both doors to get some fresh air in and as few bugs as possible. This helped but was not the solution. Sheets were clean. Bathroom mirror was at least 20% rusted, refrigerator and shelves as well. I live near the sea too and understand this happens quickly if things aren’t kept clean and dry. If we had read reviews that hinted at this or paid a lot less for the room I would have been prepared for rust and smells. Front desk staff was helpful. Even the kids couldn’t believe the smell. Won’t be back.

Pros: Pool and out door area was amazing. The staff were really helpful and friendly, the chef at the restaurant went above and beyond for the weekend breakfast buffet. Greeted and treated so well...between the experience, location and staff this us my new goto retreat!

Pros: The property although dated was clean and comfortable. The hosts were extremely helpful. They picked us up from the ferry and took u back after the stay. The property was easy to get around. My wife has a mobility scooter and it was easily manouverable. For the money it was ok but if u want to pay more for a more upmarket accommodation I would suggest going to Horshoe bay.
Cons: The dinning room was dissapointing. It was dormitory style and there was nowhere to have a quiet dinner.

Cons: It wasn't very clean, there were marks on the walls everywhere, it appeared the place had not been vacuumed, there were spider webs everywhere - including a huge black spider that we saw go under the bed, and the mattress in the main room was covered in dust and dirt. The place in general was a bit run down. This unfortunately made our stay not overly enjoyable

Pros: It was a stunning location. Quite and private. Overlooking lush gardens and rainforest. Felt like you were a million miles from anywhere. The breakfast provided was simple but so delicious. The private deck was beautiful, so relaxing and being able to sit and watch the birds and see the wallabies hop by was magic. Felt instantly relaxed as soon as Debbie let us into the room. She was a wonderful unobtrusive host. Would recommend a stay for anyone wanting to take a break from the world. There is WIFI, but we didn't use it. Great place to just disconnect.
Cons: Only thing would be the shower head. It kind of sprayed everywhere a bit. But everything else made up for that small opportunity for improvement.

Cons: We found the staff very slow and they never smiled whilst serving you and sometimes very rude. there never seemed enough staff to cover the busy period and if there was not one smiled or looked like they wanted to be there. they didn't even smile at each other or spoke one word to each other, even if they bumped into each other.we will be back as it is a very nice hotel and meets all our requirements but just wished the staff were alot more approachable.

Booked and paid for executive suite and room was more like a standard. No fire plan in the room, a serious issue. Partner slipped on wet tiles and no incident report filed/provided. Steps at bath not suitable/dangerous for persons with diabilities/infirm/injuries.

Pros: I have stayed at the Aquarius before and choose it because of its great location.
Cons: The shower was absolutely woeful. The water pressure made it almost impossible to shower and being particularly cold when I stayed all I wanted was a nice hot shower. I stayed on in Townsville for an extra night but chose to stay at another hotel for that reason alone.

Pros: Checked in really easily. The view was incredible - the private room overlooked the water which was perfect for sunrise. Location is great as there’s a bus stop right outside.

Pros: A large well appointed apartment. The kitchen was beautiful and had everything you needed. Comfortable bed with a separate air conditioner in the bedroom Well located at one end of the restaurant and hotel area. It was quieter than those in the middle of the entertainment area and had a wonderful view. The staff are exceptional.

Cons: Underground parking was very tight and numbering system didn't make sense so I parked out in the street. The bed felt like it had a few broken springs. I had to get the manager to bring up some bath towels as housekeeping didn't leave any in the room and the toilet roll was only half full with no spare in the cupboard (I checked everywhere).

Pros: The Best Place for a small family. We loved it and great value for money. The Manager was very helpful he went out of his way to get his Mechanic to help jump start out car when kids ran the battery out at Horseshoe Bay. Thank you very much.

Pros: The hostel was really comfortable and clean. Location was great and facilities were fine too. The room was big and had air cond, two TVs and a fan. Great hostel!

Pros: Excellent accommodation, easily accessible from the ferry terminal. Optional car hire & snorkling gear, very close to bush hikes across the island. Great nature watching spots close by (koalas, rock wallabies, birds). Lovely location with outdoors facilities that are kept very clean. We stayed in a safari tent which had electric lighting, power points and fan. Unfortunately only had one night there but would have loved to stay for a while longer. Highly recommend!

Pros: Fab location, jungle tent something a bit different. Had a fan and chargers in the tent which was great. Bed really comfortable. Amenities all brilliant - well equipped kitchen, free pool, clean bathrooms etc. Also hired an open top car at a very reasonable price and the owner was great giving us lots of tips off where to go on the island. Owner/workers fantastic, we just had news that airlines were stopping flying leaving us stuck in Australia. As we don't have an AUS SIM they let us borrow the phone, provided us with a beer and were so friendly. Also were able to leave our bags the whole next day and use showers before we caught a late ferry back to the mainland. Would definitely recommend if coming to magnetic Island!

Pros: Nearest beach was Gregory Beach which I could see from my unit window. A nice quiet ground floor room on the far side of the resort, next to the guest pool with a good view. Resort was green with plenty of trees and birdlife including a tame curlew who did the rounds in the afternoon. I chose to self-cater but there are options for food and drink. A good vibe about the place. I will certainly visit again!

Cons: They only make up your room every third day "to save you money". Free internet is stated as inclusive but you really have to pay $20 for a 5 hour voucher. Our back patio was against the swimming pool which was nice but the band played LOUD on Friday and Saturday nights until late - no sleep before our early dive. The bistro food is barely average at best. Great bartender, lousy reception.

Pros: Great spot near Geoffrey bay and Alma bay! So close to shops, pub, and cafe.
Cons: Room smelled of possibly mould not sure but very funky. So much that we checked nearby hotels we knew for vacancies. We shut the lights off and opened both doors to get some fresh air in and as few bugs as possible. This helped but was not the solution. Sheets were clean. Bathroom mirror was at least 20% rusted, refrigerator and shelves as well. I live near the sea too and understand this happens quickly if things aren’t kept clean and dry. If we had read reviews that hinted at this or paid a lot less for the room I would have been prepared for rust and smells. Front desk staff was helpful. Even the kids couldn’t believe the smell. Won’t be back.

Cons: It wasn't very clean, there were marks on the walls everywhere, it appeared the place had not been vacuumed, there were spider webs everywhere - including a huge black spider that we saw go under the bed, and the mattress in the main room was covered in dust and dirt. The place in general was a bit run down. This unfortunately made our stay not overly enjoyable
