Cons: "The seat's recline button was broken which meant having to sit for 12+ hours upright. Upon hearing that the seat was broken, the airline crew offered my mother a check for 100 SGD (14% of the ticket value) to be used on Singapore airlines (for the discomfort caused for over 50% of the flight time). They changed her seat from Seoul to Singapore. When I wrote to them about it, they came back saying they had offered her a seat change from LA to Singapore, and she had declined, which is absolutely false. When I called that out, they said, maybe they did not offer aisle seats (note that the broken seat was not aisle). So it just shows that they don't want to accept that they messed up. They even told me that despite their best efforts in pre-flight checks, certain defects only surface when the flight is in progress. Will never ever travel on this airline again."

Pros: "To be honest I had a pretty bad flight because my allergies exploded during the entire flight - constant sneezing, runny nose, you name it. However, the attentiveness of the crew really made up for it. The cabin was decorated with tiny wreathes (so cute!), and the pillow/blanket was very comfortable/warm for an Economy seat. Although I did not use it as much, the entertainment seemed top-notch. And the crew-- they noticed that I was not feeling well, and offered me peppermint tea and snacks that did sooth things a bit (you can request for snack/beverage refills anytime!). I loved that they gave out black socks to the passengers too (I prefer taking my shoes off during the flight, so the socks added warmth & prevented my own socks from getting dirty). All in all, it was one of the best-serviced long flights I had, not to mention probably the most affordable price I paid for my annual trip to Korea (from LA)."

Even the serving utensils were solid metal and had a very high quality feel to it. Having an endless supply of mid flight snacks was also appreciatd I always like the warm wet towels, which were offered at take off and landing. The entertainment choices were endless, but because it had USB and regular power, I was able to work on my laptop and listen to my podcasts on phone without worrying about running out of battery."
Cons: "The crew lacked its usual pep and cheer. For some reason they seemed very introverted and tired. First time on Singapore Airline that I noticed. The amenities kit was a bit on the cheap side. Also, only the supplied two prong headphones could be used with the entertainment system, I would have preferred an option to use my high end ones -- this was the main reason I chose to just work and listen to my own music/podcasts instead of watching a movie. We boarded and disembarked through the business sections and the aisles were too narrow. The announcements were hard to hear and the temperature was set too low for half of the flight (to kept fluctuating requiring constant adjustment of blanket/jacket). Having said that will keep flying them."

Food was very good, nice touch with comp wine. Entertainment options were many and good variety. Hope to fly ANZ again someday."

Having to produce emails and payment information on something I had done months in advance. Overall I won’t recommend virgin next time I’d book directly with air New Zealand"

Watching the plane during its descent and landing was very cool."
Cons: "I’ve flown in tight-spaced economy seats before, but the lack of space to even bend over to reach items on the floor was extreme on this plane and unacceptable for a 15+ hour flight. It truly felt like a straightjacket. Serious acrobatics were required to reach items on the floor. The tray table would also fly down on its own, the lever holding it would slide free while I was sleeping. There was no wifi at all, not even for using the qantas apps. My fiancé flew on Virgin the week before and was able to purchase wifi and stay in touch with me for $19 for the duration of the flight. Even my flight earlier this year with Qantas on the Dreamliner lacked usable wifi, but the experience of the Dreamliner plane itself was wonderful. In addition, the usb ports on the end of the armrests weren’t working. I feel it should be part of the safety briefing to point out where the usable power points are, given how vital charged phones are these days for boarding passes, reaching loved ones and entertainment when the wifi isn’t working. I didn’t realize there was a plug for laptops/ block plugs until I asked about the USB ports not working until the last 2 hours of the flight. The location of that was somewhere few would notice or look if not explicitly told. This will be the last time I ever book with Qantas when an a380 model is involved, unless great overhauls and updates are completed. Economy should not lack basic ergonomic comforts and while I’ve spent years touting my love for Qantas, having had wonderful experiences in the past, this one fell far below what I had come to expect from the Qantas name."

Cons: "Our international flight was delayed by over 2 hours. When we called to rebook our connection flight from Brisbane to Cairns, the agent on the phone told us they were unable to help us. The online website also did not allow us to rebook. When we got to Brisbane, the only flight remaining for us was a flight 2hours later with connection. Also, the phone jack was so poor that half of the time you couldn’t hear the movie."

Once the seat in front of me reclined back I had my knees in the back of the chair the entire flight and I am not a particularly tall person- made for a pretty uncomfortable 15hrs."

But the airline did not plan ahead and was understaffed to take care of the individuals on the airline to speed up the process of waiting in lines. They knew we were coming and still only had 2 individuals on staff to take care of hundreds of people so the lines were longer than needed to be. Poor planning and accommodating of individuals during this time has made me not want to fly with this airline again."

For example they did not remove the dishes for about three hours after serving dinner. The last straw was that they diverted to Sydney instead of the final destination Melbourne as the crew was going over 20 hrs. With the diversion they saved about 45 min , but the exhausted passengers lost another 3 hrs in their already miserable flight. Also quantas NOT friendly for people traveling with kids.... BEWARE."

Cons: "The airline used a codeshare that did not seem to signify anything. They would not provide me with any help when it became clear I would miss my connection. Furthermore, I purchased an extra legroom seat and was charged for it twice. Avoid if at all possible"
Pros: "I liked that they accommodated my dietary restrictions and that they supplied us with food for different parts of the flight."
Cons: "I didn't like that I was delayed in the beginning of the flight"
Pros: "Should have put me on one of the Qantas flights that left sooner, no explanation, no compensation."
Cons: "The flight was delayed by 3.5 hours so we were stuck at LAX for a long long time, way passed the closing time of all the shops and restaurants at the international terminal :(. Otherwise a great flight w decent food and great service"
Pros: "I was able to make a connection without too much hassle"
Cons: "I had a economy plus flight booked and should have been on a Qantas from LA to JFK but due to delays I was put on an AA flight and downgraded to economy. I could have just as easily been upgraded to business - you chose not to do that."

Cons: "Flight attendants were more interested in socializing with each other than working. More interested in talking about what they were going to do in NY. They were not neatly dressed as compared to others Quantas crew members on other flights, before our meal was served they were eating rolls before serving us. Changing flights was a mess, getting your bags, going though customs, picking up bags and having to go so far in the airport to go check in again was disorganized. Food was not good, fish was fishy, worst meal in three weeks of traveling off and on plans in and out of AU."
Pros: "Attendants were congenial, though not much visible between meals..."
Cons: "My window seat was further from window than normal so could not lean against it to sleep. My overhead light was not positioned properly, so did not help much. It was centered between me and person beside, so while she slept and I wanted to use, I couldn't. Also had to push against connection plugging earphones in to make work. It was a constant effort and made hand sore. And even at best the sound was poor."
