It’s because of COVID that everything was closed. So it wasn’t as nice as an experience due to that.

I loved the decor and vintage look with boudoir feels and classy New York vibe! I love this building and the area is nice.

The store wasnt open for basic stuff like toothpaste and the rooftop would of been nice but thanks COVID :( and a 200 deposit is steep for just one night.

About

Overview

Featuring a balance of homey comfort and modern art-inspired architecture, Freehand New York offers an experience that is both welcoming and stimulating to the senses. The rooming options vary widely for a mix of needs. There are rooms with king beds, queen beds, and even setups for three people or a bunk bed arrangement. There are also suites featuring comfortably-sized living areas.

The food and beverage options suit just as a wide a variety of needs. The Broken Shaker throws guests back to a time when bars were simple, offered delicious food and were filled with local artistic flare. The signature and artisan cocktails give guests a tasting experience as unique as the laid back ambience. Simon and the Whale offers a tasting experience of similar scale, but with an even more distinguished setting. As artful as the area in which it sits, it offers diners quality wooden furniture amidst subtly golden lighting to set the right mood for the perfect meal.

Guests have the option of visiting The Shoppe as well. Here, they can grab last minute necessities, forgotten tidbits they may have left behind, or a quick drink or snack, not to mention some cool American style goodies packed with inspirational local flare.

The Freehand Fellowship ensures the connection between the hotel and the artistic inspiration of local Bard College students. The guest rooms and public spaces are graced with the unique expressions of the students, giving them an outlet and guests of the hotel a completely different experience.
