Like other travelers have noted, there’s a club on the top floor of this hotel that plays very loud music well into the mid-morning. Luckily, we were on a floor that was far away from the club (6th floor, and the club is on the 15th) but we could still hear music on our floor before walking into our room. If you happen to stay on the 9th or 10th floor, I’m certain you’d still be able to hear it and unable to sleep. Besides that, the hotel is great. But you’re rolling the dice when getting assigned a floor and because of that, there’s no chance I’m staying here again. Also, they charge you ~$40 a day as an “amenity fee”. Not a deal breaker but know that you’ll be paying for their “amenities” in addition to whatever you’re paying online so be sure to factor that in.
Bathroom was wide and clean, but mattress wasn’t comfortable, it should have been replaced with firm one, more information should have been given to us about food, Wi-Fi, and amenities, the lobby was so small 😞 no comfort chairs were there to wait for Taxi or Uber.
There’s is a nightclub on the 15th floor. The bass and music is comically loud and can be heard blasting all night many floors away. I’m not sure how this hotel is a viable business! Don’t stay here if you want any sleep.
Pros. Check in
Cons. Check out service, lack of cooperation, not nice,
Pros. Breakfast was mediocre. Dinner was ok but the wait staff needs to pay more attention to details. And the customer. When they delivered dinner they dropped the plates and disappeared. We didn't even have a chance to ask for silverware, which one of us was missing. We shared until we could get someones attention. Not an easy task here as they seem to go with the NYC theory, Don't make eye contact. When we were finished I asked the wait staff for our check (I hadn't seen our waitress in a while). We waited, and waited, and waited. I finally saw our waitress by the bar so I went over and asked for the check. All in all, a mediocre experience. The only plus is the location. I won't return. Not really worth the $$$.
Cons. Breakfast, Dinner. The pool is only open until 7PM. This is NYC. You know, the city that never sleeps? I guess the pool gets tired early.
Cons. Very loud lounge, key didn't work consistently, have to go up to lounge, then down to entry For millennials is the vibe
Pros. We found the staff was helpful. We liked the location. The hotel is well appointed. When we pointed out a minor problem with the elevators, we were given a 4PM checkout at no additional cost. We will dedefinitely stay there next time we come to NYC!
Pros. The views are stunning. The location is convenient and is near amazing restaurants and shops. Very local NYC feel.
Cons. Little hard finding the front desk (on 14th floor)
Pros. I didn't do a ton of research on Hotel Indigo before booking my stay and arriving at the hotel. We were in NY for a wedding and we received a discounted room rate as negotiated by the groom. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is hip and clean and in a great location. The proximity to Katz's is worth it. There is also really great coffee in this neighborhood. Try Ludlow right across the street from the hotel or Cafe Vita only a few blocks south. I would say the due to the room rate discount we were pretty lucky with the price we paid as the hotel was booking around $500 per night (their regular fee). I would say that $500 is over priced for that hotel but $350 or lower is a great deal.
Cons. Because there is a seemingly popular bar on the 15th floor of hotel you can run into some characters when it is just time to go to bed. Also when coming back home for the night the door man acts as security so you have to your room key on you in order to just get through the door. The receptionist warned us about this so we were prepared but I thought it was a little annoying. However as a guest of the hotel you get restaurant and bar privileges so there is no wait for you to get in.
Pros. Great look, great location. Clean, modern rooms. Perfect for me
Cons. Last night of my stay, my floor (9th) turned very noisy. Not just in rooms but up and down the hall. Younger crowd yelling to each other, etc. Felt like I was trying to sleep in the middle of a frat party! This was between 1-2am and went on for quite some time. It would have hoped someone would ask them quiet down on room levels.
