could have been a perfect game
The hotel seem to anticipate the big and little things an experienced traveller expects and as i found out, even unusual requests . My companion is superstitious about room numbers and the front desk changed our rooms with a smile as if they do this all the time. Most of all, the hotel is very well located. it is close to the shows and restaurants that bring you to new york in the first place.
The staff took a long time to get our bags from storage when we checked out. We did not miss our connection but i was disappointed for the hotel because they were doing a really good job. Overall however, I give the Belvedere my highest recommendation.
Great location, Comfy stay
Location is close to so many great New York sights. We walked to most of the stuff we wanted to see.
Elevators are a bit old. But there are 4 total - Pro tip use the ones at the ends of the halls, they are smaller but less used.
Staff was very courteous, room was kept clean :D
Quite pleased overall
Friendly and professional every turn. Great location. Great price. Really enjoyed our stay.
Kitchenette nothing like pictured. Beds are doubles and hard.
Dirty and outdated
The location is great it's a short walk to time square and theaters. The doormen were always friendly. The bed wasn't the best or the worst as far as comfort.
It was outdated and not clean. My shower vent had black dust bunnies clogging it, there were stains and mold in the tub and along the walls, and the shower curtain was stained. The bathroom was extremely small, and we were never given enough towels. We were charged for an extra person in the room, who was my 15 year old daughter, and yet there were two double beds which clearly could sleep 4. The elevators were broken half the time. I wouldn't stay here again, I thought I was booking a more upscale hotel for the price, and I was sorely mistaken.
Close to Time Square
Liked the location. Beds were comfortable. Fairly clean.
Shower soaked the floor outside the shower area. Ask for extra bath mats. Shower is nice though with wand. Wifi signal was weak. Room is fairly small but to be expected in NYC. Use their valet Parking. We didn't but wished we had.
Belevedere Stay was So/So
Staff was polite and easy to work wjth
Boiler maintenance was being performed during our stay and hot water was shut off during peak shower periods. I would've expected this to be performed when people sleep to avoid customer disruptions. The adjoining restaurant does not prefer hotel customers and actually locks the door between the two facilities.
Clean, centrally located and a great value. Would definitely stay again.
The location is great. The people are friendly, especially the bell hops and housekeeping. It is a great location within walking distance to everything. The little restaurant next door is a great deal with huge portions.
Not have enough outlets by the bed to charge more than one phone. I did not like having a 225.00 " security charge" charged to my credit card. They said in case we smoked in a non smoking room, but this is an excessive about of money to have tied up while on vacation in NYC. I am praying that it is released. The front staff said it would take up to 4 days. Also did not like having to pay for wifi.
a few glitches, maybe just bad luck
The location was great (easy taxi access, and walkable throughout the theater district) and the price was good.
I had frequent trouble with my key card, the hot water faucet in the shower fell off - but that may have just been bad luck
Nice clean new rooms. Friendly staff!
The elevators were a little slow but we had no problems. There was a problem with getting a package delivered to the hotel wires got crossed by staff?
Four star location, two,star quality
Hotel has no ambience, no place to sit and relax outside the room. No lounge or fireplace, no lobby bar, no hotel restaurant. Rooms are decent size, but bedding is thin and uncomfortable, air conditioning/ heating is difficult to control, rooms are separated from one long noisy corridor by thin doors. Housekeeping is great, but very noisy if you are on anything but PST and want to sleep past 730AM. The breakfast "cafe" is a single basement common room where you self serve a mediocre breakfast, even coffee and juice from dispensing machines. Whoever owns this hotel cares little about the guest experience, period. That is evident from the basic design of EVERYTHING. But Hotel location is good. If you must stay here, get a room on the north side facing the back of the "tenements" on 49th. A little kid babble from those homes is better than listening to police and fire sirens all night.
Pretty much everything could be improved except the location.
