Pros: The hotel is clean and beautiful. Decor is lovely, with so much attention to detail. It's right in the heart of Mystic, with views of the drawbridge and river. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: The bed was very pretty, but the mattress could have been a bit more luxurious. I'm not sure if it was just our room, but there was no full-length mirror and nowhere to hang your towel while showering. Overall great stay, though!
At The Whaler's Inn, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Mystic Seaport - The Museum of America and the Sea and United States Coast Guard Academy. You can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant or wind down at the end of the day with a drink from the bar/lounge. Other highlights include free bike rentals, and rooms offer LCD TVs and free WiFi.
Captain Stannard Bed and Breakfast Country Inn is a great choice for a stay in Westbrook. Guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby hiking/biking trails and kayaking, and free perks include continental breakfast and self parking.
Pros: We had two couples, two rooms, for a weekend casino trip. This was SO much more interesting and less expensive than staying down the street on-site. Each room had a comfortable 4-post bed, clean bathroom, TV and automatic temperature controlled fireplace. Being a 260+ year-old home, it's rustic open beams and wood floors gave a "step back in time" feel. Hosts Ted and Carol made us feel right at home, and breakfast of baked apple, pancakes, sausage, eggs, coffee/juice was delightful. They also have refreshments available 24/7. This was our first trip, but the four of us already decided we'll definitely become regulars.
Cons: No complaints. My only regret is that we didn't notice the diary in every room where the past visitors recorded their paranormal experience. We heard stories at breakfast, where another couple filled us in and showed pictures they'd taken that captured floating orbs. Not that it made any difference to our wonderful time, but evidently the Inn is haunted, so keep that in mind if that sort of thing bothers you.
Pros: Ted & Caroll were just delighful. Would go back again. Evergthing was just perfect.
Cons: nothing to dislike
Enjoy your visit to Preston with a stay at Captain Grant's 1754. Guests will have free perks like breakfast, WiFi, and self parking.
Mohegan Sun puts you within a 15-minute drive of United States Coast Guard Academy and features a golf course and a casino. Guests can visit the spa to be pampered with deep-tissue massages, body wraps, or body scrubs, and Todd English's Tuscany, one of 17 restaurants, serves Italian cuisine and is open for lunch and dinner. There are 15 bars/lounges and an indoor pool, and rooms at this luxurious resort get the details right with MP3 docks and designer toiletries.
Pros: Beautiful room with a couch! Bed was so comfortable that we slept in and missed breakfast. Excellant shower pressure!
Cons: Wish breakfast ran later than 9am. No microwave in the room. Shower room with toilet was a bit tight getting in and out. Not very many TV channels and TV kept shutting off by itself after about an hour and half.
Pros: Loved the clean and spacious room. Bathroom was immaculate! Staff was friendly and very helpful too. Perfect getaway with my daughter.
It can be tought to please an 18 year old girl but my daughter loved the Hyatt. The 2 of walki Misquamicut beach every winter and then spend the night at the Hyatt. Already looking forward to next year!
Cons: Nothing. All was great!
Pros: It was clean and spacious...
Pros: I liked that it was close to downtown Mystic as well as some excellent wineries on the CT Wine Trail.
Cons: The hotel was under renovations and we heard hammers pounding while trying to take a nap on a Saturday afternoon. Also, the included breakfast left A LOT to be desired. Egg white sandwiches on hard, stale croissants. Luke-warm French toast. Stale bagels. Not too appetizing.
Guestrooms include Hyatt Grand Beds, a 42 inch HDTV, comfortable furnishings and flexible work spaces. Complimentary amenities include a fitness center, business center, wireless internet access throughout the hotel and guestrooms and a Complimentary a.m. Kitchen Skillet, featuring freshly prepared breakfast sandwiches, waffles, French toast, pancakes and steel cut oatmeal, available daily. Enjoy freshly prepared menu items, premium coffee drinks or beer and wine in our Gallery Cafe.
Pros: Very nice and close to the town of Mystic and close to the two casinos
Pros: Clean and comfortable, with a very friendly staff.
Pros: Being able to bring my pet was a major bonus. We didn't have to worry about leaving our dog alone and the rooms were very clean and spacious! The staff was very friendly and courteous and the breakfast in the morning was awesome!
Cons: The beds were a little bit too hard
Pros: The beds were comfortable and breakfast was good. Hotel rooms were clean.
Cons: Had trouble getting into our rooms our keys didn't work so the lady had to give us a new set of keys. We told the lady at the front desk that it was probably the door and if its possible to just switch our rooms. She refused and gave us new card to try and that one didn't work. Our stuff was locked in the room the lady had to come up to our room and try it herself and it wouldn't work so she had to go back downstairs to get this machine thing that opens the doors but she couldn't see what she was doing because she didn't have her glasses so my friend had to help her smh worst experience ever eventually we were able to get into the room and they gave us new room. I map quest the address to see how far foxwoods was it said it was 10 minutes away but it was more like 20 minutes.
Pros: Nice and clean hotel.
Cons: Inconvenient location without a car. Some receptionists don't seem to like their jobs... few were nice.
Pros: I loved how quick and easy check in was! The staff was very welcoming and answered all of my questions. The rooms were nice and clean, had the perfect size television. The bed was extremely comfortable. Delicious hot breakfast was included until 10am. Check out was 11 so after breakfast we still had plenty of time to check out on time. It was just an all around great stay!
Cons: Because of all of the snow parking was limited. We had to circle around for a couple of minutes before finally parking in the last parking spot. But again snow is not something the staff can control.
Cons: I needed to move the reservation 1 day due to severe weather but Priceline and Hampton Inn were unable to accommodate.
Pros: Location was convenient and hotel was perfect!
Pros: clean, easy access, good breakfast

Other highlights at this Colonial bed & breakfast include a terrace and a garden.
Pros: The room was spacious and clean for a good price.
Cons: The bathroom could've cleaner.
Pros: Located 5 min away from Mohegan Sun w a shuttle running every 30 min until midnight. If you plan on returning after midnight taxi was $7 for the two of us. The free breakfast was good w lots of selection. It does get busy and if u cannot find seating you can ask for a to go box to bring breakfast up to your room. The kitchen is open 24 hours so if you are looking for a midnight snack you can order from your room and go downstairs to pick it up when it's ready. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lobby, cafe area and rooms were updated and kept very clean. We got a room w two queen beds and it was much larger then expected. There was a good sized sitting area w a pullout couch and the room was able to to sleep 6 people. Overall a great place.
Cons: I have a bad back and the bed was too soft for my liking but my 16 y/o daughter thought they were very comfortable. It was a little pricey totaling about $235 a night. The prices may have been inflated since we were there for a concert.
Pros: Hotel was clean, comfortable and decor was simple. Asking $3.50 for a small bottle of water is robbery. Lobby is inviting, breakfast is decent, although coffee isn't that good. We got an extended check out which was nice too.
Cons: The front staff were morons. They told me there would be no "hold fee" on my credit card (I asked the gentleman three times to be clear and he clearly told me no) and I found out at check out they dish old $50. When I spoke to the girl at check out that I was misinformed, she smiled and shrugged her shoulders and said nothing. That was infuriating. I would have liked a "there must have been a miscommunication". She had no clue about anything. The shuttle service is a joke. They have 1 can that holds 20 people max (if that even) and we had to sit on laps to make he midnight shuttle. They charhe$3.50 for a small bottle of water! Even by NYC standards, that's a lot.
Pros: We always enjoy our stay. Everything always goes smoothly. Price is fantastic so is the staff. Nice n quiet n very comfy.
Cons: This one time though we had to switch rooms because we found hair under sheets n bathroom floor. This never happened before n got moved right away to a clean room.
Pros: Large rooms, a lot of space.
Cons: Bathrooms were dirty. Not renovated like the rest. Tiles broken in shower, no handlebar. Dirty tiles
Pros: Pillows and mattress are the best!
Cons: I could not control the room temperature. It was very cold for our taste. There was a thermostat, but it did not work.
Pros: loved it!!!
Pros: I love the rooms and the service
Cons: Everything was grrat
Pros: Clean and decent size rooms with separate sitting area , awesome . This will be he place where I'll stay when I do return to visit . Thanks
Pros: The staff was fabulous. They were very efficient, courteous and friendly. Our king bed room also had a small kitchen and sitting area and the room was very clean. They also have a wonderful free continental breakfast that included french toast and Egg McMuffin style sandwiches. There is a free shuttle to the Casino, but we drove over ourselves as it is only about a mile away and a quick drive to the Mohegan Sun Casino/Arena. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
Pros: clean, quiet, upscale decor, great pillows and mattress,
healthy and delicious breakfast, very friendly staff
Cons: Need a platform somewhere in the room to place luggage

Cons: Had to pay for for breakfast
Pros: Location was great, nice hotel, good breakfast.
Cons: Don't care for the mattress, tried different adjustments with no improvement.
Pros: Bed smell clean & was very comfortable.
Cons: No toothpaste, toilet seat was dirty
Pros: I stayed for one night . The front desk was very friendly and helpful. We also had breakfast in the morning and the fresh omelets were awesome. We had a good time. Definitely recommend this hotel

Pros: The fact that this place is very clean and comfortable all throughout...makes me definitely want to come back. I travel alot and very rarely seen places like this. My room was very clean, we even had a nice sized jacuzzi in it.The fitness center was decent, and the full breakfast in the morning was completely AWESOME! One downside,10 min from the casino. .Nevertheless, its location is still prime. Only 3 min away from Mystic Seaport area. This is my first post about any property,i spoke with their staff, who are so nice, who make you want to come back. just had to say something, it was that good.
Cons: 10 min from casino
Pros: I like the fact that it came with everything I needed ... kitchenette area, iron and board, even WiFi

Cons: I made the reservation I need to cancel within a couple of hours for business purposes and was charged full price that is absolutely ridiculous I paid it I will never use KAYAK again
Pros: love the proximity to casinos, also the town to various restaurants is a short 5 minute walk.
Pros: The nan who made the omletes Sunday morning was the friendliest and the hotel should be honored to have him work there!

Cons: It looked like something out of a horror movie when we drove up. The desk attendant was really slow and almost didn't give us our purchased room due to renovations (that we didn't know about becauae no one said anything...). Over all I was a bit disappointed because I had just gotten engaged, and wanted a nice place to rest. Honestly should've paid more money to go else where. And the attendant at check in made us feel really awkward and uncomfortable. Get rid of that 100yr old man.

Guests can splash around at the indoor pool or grab a bite to eat at the coffee shop/café. Other highlights at this historic hotel include a fitness center, free bike rentals, and a garden.
Cons: Dated design, rooms and bathrooms are pure function but not pretty or innovative.
Pros: We looked forwarded to a nice meal on New's Years Eve and they had a terrible menu. We (8) had agreed on the Kobe steak and they did not have it on the menu. The 3 selections were not normal meals. After complaining we had to leave because of the lack of care by the restaurant bar managers attitude. As a traveler who frequents the Hilton chain it reinforces my decision to stay with the Hilton chain.
Pros: view was nice, comfortable, clean, free wireless, but there seemed to be a limit on number of devices?
Cons: we ordered room service and it was late....not sure the eggs were eggs either, suspected they were egg substitute or eggs in a carton or some such thing. more creamers needed for coffee....television sounds travelled from neighboring rooms....would have preferred an included continental breakfast in the dining area.
Pros: Staff was super awesome
Pros: Mariah checked us in and I was blown away by the customer service she provided. She had an extra room available so she upgraded us, provided us with a few toiletries that we forgot instead if having to buy them in the store, and gave us free Buffett breakfast vouchers. She called the restaurant personally to book our dinner reservation (which we could have done ourselves but it was amazing how she just jumped in with "I'll call for you no problem") every time we passed the counter she greeted us by name and the most impressive part was when she called our room around 6 to see if we needed anything else before she headed out for the evening. I was just floored by her service and how genuine she was. I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know and will for sure be back again.
Pros: Good breakfast, friendly staff, convenient location to casinos and RI beaches

Pros: Beautiful grounds, great pool for kids, Sunday Brunch
Cons: Being overcharged at Sunday's Brunch for 16 oz. of Coke ($18.00), on top of the $50.00 pp charge for brunch, noisy people in room next to us kept us up until 1 am, noisy outdated a/c made noise all night.
Pros: The hotel is beautiful outside and the grounds are kept very nice. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It's right on the beach.
Cons: The restaurant and bar staff were not happy to be there with the exception of the inside hostess! We "waited to be seated" as the sign said at the outside bar/grill for about ten minutes while three girls talked behind the bar which only had two customers. One of them called to us as we walked away to go inside for service but it was too late. Once seated, our waiter actually made the comment that he's going to be so happy in a few weeks when it's slow and nobody is there for dinner. Later at the bar seemed to be a repeat of the situation at dinner. From finger prints covering glass surfaces that seem to have been there for a while to the elevator that looks like something was splashed on the wall and not cleaned for two days there seems to be a lack of attention to detail at this hotel. New management could really make some improvements as it is a beautiful hotel. For this price point I expect better.

The indoor pool provides a splash of fun, while guests in the mood for pampering can visit the spa to indulge in deep-tissue massages, body wraps, and aromatherapy. Dattilo's Fine Dining, one of 4 restaurants, serves Italian cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There's a poolside bar and a bar/lounge, and rooms get the details right with iPod docks and designer toiletries.
A great choice for a stay in Old Lyme, Old Lyme Inn features a nightclub. You can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant or wind down at the end of the day with a drink from the bar/lounge. Other highlights at this historic inn include a garden, and rooms offer flat-screen TVs and free WiFi.
Cons: No one volunteered to help with bags at check in or checkout. Other guest patrons were noisy and no attempt by staff to quell the situation. No complimentary breakfast.
Cons: The pool
Pros: Great value! Reception desk staff greeted me as I was still approaching the desk. Professional hospitality, great facility, in great condition, in a fantastic location. Would definitely return.
Pros: The size if the room was perfect. The bed was very comfy. It was a short distance to both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. The Mystic Aquarium was with in walking distance as was the Old Mystic Plaza. All in all it was a great stay and I would recommend it to a friend.
Cons: We did not like that there wasn't a shuttle, car service or limo service to the Casino Resorts. For the price this feature should be included as well as a free Continental Breakfast.
Pros: Location in proximity to attractions and hwy. The room was clean and the staff was excellent.
Cons: The decor was very disappointing for a Hilton hotel. The barroom walls were a very outdated nauseating yellowish gold. The size of the bathroom was very small. The room all together seemed very minimalistic for the price.
Pros: The room , a mini suite, was beautiful and the bed was so comfortablr. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was near all local attractions, including both Casinos. I would definitely stay there again
Cons: No fan in the bathroom

Pros: The room size and cleanliness
Cons: The location off the highway was a bit odd
Pros: The suite had a sofa bed. It's hard finding hotels like this. I have 4 kids so this was great!
Cons: The pool was very small.. 50% of me coming was for the pool.
Pros: Convenient, good value for the price.
Cons: All was good.
Pros: Nice room, great location
Cons: Several issues when we arrived checking in. Hotel double charged my credit card which I'm still trying to resolve
Pros: Beautiful and well maintained hotel!

Pros: The friendliness of the staff and The cleanliness of the room and bathroom in particular. Good breakfast including the service
Cons: PARTY IN ROOM U[UPSTAIRS BOTH NIGHTS NOTHING DONE ABOUT IT WHEN WE CALLED FRONT DESK
Pros: Decent room
Cons: Be careful using debit cards if you already paid online. I got charged 2 other times
Pros: We are buying a house in the area and spending a lot of time in hotels. As the summer starts all the hotels in Mystic start to jack their prices to unbelievable levels ($300+ a night for a Hampton Inn??).
As all we needed was a bed for the night and a warm shower we decided to save our money and try the Quality Inn. That was a good decision as its perfectly OK - clean, convenient location, affordable. Bead was comfortable and bathroom was clean with decent water pressure.
Cons: We were on the ground floor and there was quite a bit of noise on Saturday night - the sound insulation is not great.
Sheets are washed in fairly harsh chemicals, so a little rough on the skin.
Overall, though, good value for the money and staff are very friendly and helpful
Pros: Staff was very friendly and attentive.
Cons: Elevator was fair from room. Next time I would ask for a first floor room for my dad.
Pros: Close enough to beach without breaking bank... Both CT and RI beaches... Beds were comfortable... Restraunts in area were good...
Cons: Last night they ran out of towels and we were given one wash cloth and bath mats for hand towels...
Pros: All friendly, helpful.
Cons: Further than I thought from Foxwoods
Pros: Clean and comfort
Pros: The continental breakfast was incredible

Pros: Nice room layout, pet friendly, convenient to interstate, good breakfast.
Cons: Location to town and attractions was not as depicted by site location at booking. Carpeting had sticky spots and smelled of dirty gym clothes. Poor soundproofing compared to other hotels we've stayed at, especially on this trip.
Pros: The complimentary breakfast was extensive and the staff was diligent in keeping all of the offerings replenished.
The suite was large and very comfortable. We would stay again in the future
