Pros: The owner was very nice. The home is very comfortable. The location is great.
Cons: The furnishings need updating. The bedding needs updating with better quality pillows, down comforters, white duvets. Its a little old fashioned. Would like to see an updated kitchen and it would be helpful if the service understood the history of the home and surrounding areas. Would also be nice to have less sugary options for breakfast.
When visiting Lenox, Birchwood Inn is a great choice to consider. Guests can keep active with onsite mountain biking, and free perks include WiFi, self parking, and full breakfast daily. A terrace and a garden are offered, and rooms get the details right with fireplaces and premium bedding.
Pros: The innkeepers provided a small bottle of wine as a welcoming gift, there is an electric fireplace for ambience and you can eat the provided breakfast in your room. There are games and movies available and the innkeeper was very informative. Also they provide robes, have a fridge, toaster oven and microwave in the room. Ice is in the freezer. The woman who is part of the cleaning staff (Kim I believe) was very nice when we were leaving. Unfortunately my elderly mom was ill at 2:00pm the night before from eating fried food and I cleaned up as best I could. Kim was very sweet and expressed her concern and said not to worry about anything. Can't say enough about the owners and staff. They are there to meet your needs and ensure that you enjoy your stay.
Cons: Only suggestions would be to have a wall mirror in the living area so when one guest was in the bathroom the other could get ready outside. Little plates would have been nice for our bagels, quiche and other baked goods. Not major inconveniences by any means.
Pros: From the moment we arrived at the Shaker Mill Inn we instantly felt at home. We walked into our room and the lights were on, music was playing, the electric fire place was on, and there was wine, compliments of the owners. The room was extremely clean and well-kept and full of little personal touches. We stayed for two nights and went skiing at Catamount during the day. It was just a half hour drive from Catamount and worked out for us very well.
Cons: Our room wasn't completely modern and updated, but what it lacked in updates, it made up for in cleanliness.
Enjoy your visit to West Stockbridge with a stay at Shaker Mill Inn. Guests can indulge in deep-tissue massages, aromatherapy, or Ayurvedic treatments. Rooms feature bonuses like sofa beds, refrigerators, and microwaves.
Pros: The uniqueness of staying in an Inn. It was clean and cozy. The staff was great and the breakfast was wonderful!

The Kemble Inn is in a great spot for easy walking throughout Lenox, has beautiful public spaces, elegant and delicious food and a warm and friendly staff. It is undergoing renovation and the rooms that are completed promise a top quality hotel experience when the renovation is finished.
Pros: The public spaces and the fabulous cocktails/good food
Cons: It is not yet fully refurbished so my bathroom was dated
Kemble Inn is a great choice for a stay in Lenox. After relaxing in the spa tub, guests can grab a bite to eat at Table Six, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Rooms at this boutique inn offer fireplaces and free WiFi.
Pros: The staff was amazing! The hotel was clean and decor spot on. The cleanliness was seen as soon as we walked through the door and continued throughout the whole hotel. Comfortable bed and a fantastic shower...we will definitely return!
Cons: There wasn't one thing we disliked about this hotel and will be returning soon!
Pros: Breakfast was quite good!
Cons: Not having a restaurant & room service

Pros: Free internet, free hot breakfast. Coffee was good.. Bed was comfortable and hotel was quiet at night time.
Cons: The round about you need to navigate to the road leading to hotel entrance was awful. Very confusing and distressing even with a gps. Too bad because last time I stayed here there was no round about.
We needed a place to stay for a family function and had specific needs due to traveling with a baby. The staff could not have been more accommodating and the whole hotel very clean.
Pros: The staff was always friendly and very helpful. The whole hotel was exceptionally clean.
it is one of the best in the area...it's proximity to the interstate was also valuable.
Pros: the overall stay was great.........
Cons: the price

Pros: Spectacular location at one of the grandest "cottages" remaining in the Berkshires. A 5 minute drive to downtown Lenox. Delicious brunch. The bathroom in our room was newly renovated and luxurious. Good service.
Cons: The main building of Cranwell is breathtaking, and the prices are what you would expect to stay in such a historic and beautiful place. However, our room was in an adjacent building, circa 1963. It was pretty nice, but definitely more like what I would expect for $300 rather than $500. Perhaps on their website they make it more clear that you aren't staying in the main house, but booking through Kayak I was surprised to get less than I thought I'd paid for.
I found the walls to be pretty thin in the building we stayed in (Founders).

Pros: Clean. Comfortable, beautiful scenery and quiet
Pros: Being from the Berkshires we chose to do a trip for a night while on vacation. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night. Very clean, cozy apartment feel. Pool is great area.
Cons: With it being off the path (5 miles) I think it be great to put in a snack bar as well as a lounge (dinner/ bar) it would be a gold mine for families not wanting to cook or drive. The first day staff was amazing! Second day the desk people could have had a refresher on positive and client experience.
Pros: Clean facilities and friendly staff. Second time visiting - the kitchenette is very helpful. Nice to have balcony and gas fireplace. Comfortable bed. Overall a great place to stay.
Cons: Unit was clean nd comfortable but starting to show its age. Wall paper was peelling, stains on ceiling when water leaked
Pros: The rooms were really great. There was a full kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, bedroom and patio. It was amazing to have a kitchen with a full set of dining ware, a toaster, microwave, stove burner, blender and coffee pot. The place felt very family friendly. It definitely felt like a ski lodge where families would stay for about a week at a time. All of the decor in the rooms were fall foliage which felt weird staying there in the summer. They have a large selection of dvds at the front desk that you can rent for free and have an indoor and outdoor swimming pool.
Cons: The door to patio to our room was broken. The dvd player wouldn't work and it took forever for us to get it to reopen and spit out the dvd we placed in. They ask you to take all the linens off of the bed and place in the bath tub before checking out, which didn't make sense to us because we took a shower right before we left. It's in the middle of nowhere which is definitely apart of its appeal but there are no gas stations or grocery stores for at least a 15 minute drive.
Cons: The mattress was worn and noisy in 107b building 1
Pros: Great for families. Love that all rooms include a kitchen. The suite feature (two rooms sort of adjoin) is really convenient as we're always there with multiple families.
Cons: Checking in is always painfully slow for some reason.
Cons: Shuttle to the ski mountain would be great idea

Guests can hang out at the outdoor pool or seasonal outdoor pool, or grab a bite to eat at John Harvards, which serves dinner. A bar/lounge and a fitness center are other highlights, and condos offer conveniences like kitchens and sofa beds. Ski rentals and lessons are also available.
Cons: Dated. Separate rooms (different building) from pool. Not described
Pros: The staff was super friendly. We arrived early with friends and asked about possibly upgrading both rooms to the main building and they gave us a great deal for 2 rooms close together. The breakfasts offered custom omelets plus the usual fixings and more. It was very good! The whole place was clean and friendly and we will certainly return!
Cons: This is not about the hotel per se, but it was a holiday weekends with lots of kids. We did complain about the kids on the 2nd floor running and stomping their feet well into the early hours of the morning. This is something the parents should have controlled. The Yankee Inn apologized and stated they did speak to the kids and parents multiple times, but got no results. To us on the first floor, it sounded like a herd of elephants above us. Either better behaved kids, or better expression to those staying above or put those with kids in the other building and adults only in the main building or more sound deadening material between the floors. This is our only complaint. Otherwise was an excellent stay.
Cons: Significantly overpriced for what it offered!
Pros: I liked the following : received text prior to check in telling me room was ready, staff very friendly and went out of way when they learned we ate at particular restaurant about the special relationship they have with them and suggested we could go back with hotel receipt for discount, rooms clean, comfortable beds with enough pillows, but mostly loved the family vibe you got from staff. You knew they cared.
Cons: Nothing bad to say
Pros: Perfect for a one or two night stay. The room ammenities in the adjacent building to the main Inn are small and older yet the rooms were clean. The hot tub and indoor pool were well kept and appreciated prior to my half marathon race in Tanglewood. The staff was accomodating however they neglected to provide me with a requested wake up call. The complimentary coffee and tea was a nice touch and the gal tending bar could not have been nicer or more insightful.
Pros: Pool and hot tub nice,
Cons: Needed to upgrade room to main bldg, close to pool and breakfast
Cost charged was $50 additional a night. Total aprox 150 /night a bit much, I thought.
Breakfast staff work hard but bread, waffles, packaged oatmeal and cereals are minimum.
News paper for both days was only one left for perhaps 15/20 breakfast patrons.
Pros: We enjoyed the outdoor and indoor pools. We also liked the daily breakfast and thought the offerings were a good variety and generous. The housekeeping staff was efficient and were quick to respond to requests.
Cons: The rooms are a bit small, and the air conditioning unit was difficult to get to due to the location of it in the room.
Pros: I was ticketed to fly from WashDC to Albany, then drive on to Lenox. US Air overbooked & bumped me off the plane. I flew instead to Hartford. My bag, however, went to Albany.
After a long, difficult travel day, I arrived @ the Yankee Inn @11:00pm w/ very sore knees & legs.
Jordan, working overnight on the front desk, was kind enough to move my room from the 2nd to the ground floor. It turned out this was an "upgrade" & would be more expensive. Jordan, a younger & perhaps less-experienced staff member, hadn't made that clear to me. At check-out, the young lady @ the desk was very understanding & told me they'd try to work it out. Next day, she called & told me there would be no further charges & that Jordan would not get in trouble because of me. Incidentally, when my bag arrived @ 1:30 am, Jordan hand-carried it to my room.
I though that was nice.
Cons: The mattress was thin & uncomfortable.
The synthetic pillows looked comfortable but weren't.
The phone was completely broken.
The folks in the room above me made a thumping racket most of the night.
