Le Château d'Osthoffen - Osthoffen - Building
1
8.6 Excellent (233 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Osthoffen, Le Château d'Osthoffen is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Chartreuse Museum and Vodou Museum. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
7.1 Good
Pros: A great place for the amateurs of the authentic charm of an old castle, A lovely elderly couple is holding the place and they are very serviceminded and helpful, The room had a fine size and the same goes for the bathroom, with very fine facilities. The check-in is quite late (17.30-21.00), but arriving at 16.00 I was admitted to my room anyway.
Cons: Even if very clean and nothing broken inside the castle, the place need a heavy update to meet todays' standards in terms of electricity and silence/privacy as well as the interior.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice location - the castle is very pretty, and the gardens / outdoor areas are very pretty.
Cons: Did not feel our hosts were hospitable. Breakfast was extremely basic - not even a boiled egg offered. At 11:00 on the day of our check out we had our door banged on, and we were asked to check out immediately. In addition, we asked to leave our suitcases in storage but were denied, and the reception area was locked down. It would have also be great to have a lounge area to hang out in - the only option was the room or go into Strasbourg.
7.1 Good
Pros: Exceptionally beautiful building and garden - a real find. Room very spacious. Accommodating staff that waited up for us to arrive at midnight without complaining! Very welcoming of the dog...
Cons: Slightly frumpy place, breakfast quite basic. Probably not great value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A magical experience that is unforgettable forever. When the owners of the castle (kindly old couple) knew that we were from China. They upgraded the room specifically for us. The room was clean and tidy, the castle was very classic and the manor was very beautiful. The owners of the castle took the initiative to take photos for us and also had a cordial conversation with us. After returning to China, we introduced this castle to our friends and hope that everyone will encounter a dream here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are a lovely couple, with plenty of stories and local insights.
7.1 Good
Pros: Chateau and surrounds very beautiful
Cons: Breakfast very average . On checkout we were given a full bill to pay even though we had booked and paid 9 months ago . Host insisted that he was not paid by Booking.com even after I showed him proof of the payment on my Booking.com app as well as a confirmation email showing everything paid in full ! Rooms a bit "tired" .

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The guy at the service desk was very kind and service minded. He let me keep my bike in the room.
Cons: The room smelled, was dirty and badly sound isolated. The hallways as nd surrounding areas were dirty and smelly.
7.1 Good
Pros: Price
Cons: No hot water
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. Price was ok
Cons: Badly stained toilet Had to pay for towels Very tight parking spaces, sometimes impossible to park Extractor fan in bathroom had no cover and was extremely dirty inside
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location is close to highway and parking is free. Reception girl was nice.
Cons: Dirtiest place I have ever stayed in. Rooms are super small, shower was broken (while there’s basically no shower, it’s right above the toilet). No towels provided.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: İt was perfect with respect to kind reception, clean room, hot shower, good price, close to bus and tram stations. Everything was nice. Thank you so much. We'll prefer you next time again.
Cons: Nothing.
6.5 Good
Pros: Staff was friendly and accommodating. They made every effort to communicate clearly despite not speaking very much English. My son thought it was cool to sleep in a bunk bed and compared it to our ferry cabin on the ferries we took on the Alaskan Marine Highway.
Cons: The beds were not very comfortable and the bathroom was super small. Water temps were very sensitive so it was tricky to find a balance so as to not freeze or scald yourself :).
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location to motorway, staff friendly, bed comfortable. Price relative to accommodation.
Cons: Had to buy bathroom towels at 3€ each. Shower too small and dirty curtain clinging to you. Not as clean as it could be, but supposed to be expected for the price point.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Please, the bathrooms are really behind the standard. The room itself is quite nice and for the price reasonable, but the bathroom needs a renovation!
Overview Reviews
The hotelF1 Strasbourg Sud is located in Geispolsheim close to a shopping center and numerous restaurants. Just 4.3 miles (7 km) from Strasbourg, it is very well served by public transport. Private parking and all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. Free WIFI. Stay in our low-cost rooms, and visit the region's finest tourist attractions: the cathedral, European Parliament, Europapark, and more.
7.0 Good
Pros: Everything was ok and tge beds were quite comfortable. It's definitely a good value for money.
Cons: Smell in the room wasn't nice, when we came, but after we opened the window it went away. Therefore it wasn't a big problem
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: We stayed one night. But it was really poor hotel. We did not have private bathroom and it locates too far from the city center. Good thing was the staff and they were really helpful and great.
6.7 Good
Pros: Acceptable accommodation for good price. Suitable for one night stay.
Cons: The room under the roof needs AC. It was horribly hot there.
7.1 Good
Pros: Cheap, free parking, public transport to go to the city center
Cons: Shared bathrooms were very dirty, and I found people smoking inside.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel looked fancy from outside. Lots of parking spots. Total value for money.
Cons: There was only one toilet for the entire floor with more than 20 rooms. There's always a queue and it is unhygenic. Also, there was no ventilation in the corridor. It was suffocating and stinked a bit.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location was great and the staff was hard-working and very friendly. I found the toilets clean and the showers fresh smelling and clean. This is a great solution for families on a strict budget so I’m hesitant to complain about much.
Cons: This is your typical F1 experience. There are a lot more truckers passing the night than any F1 I’ve been in. As a result the parking lot was full of big vans by 7pm without any extra parking to spare. Running out for food left us trying to get a spot across the street and stranded for a space every night. The hallway on our 2nd floor room was really smelly, like smoke and urine combined. The other floors smelled a little better but we couldn’t change for some reason—even though we’d booked for three nights. However the room itself was okay and smelled like a typical F1. Not sure what can be done about the people smoking in their rooms either—it was a minor nuisance in the mornings and at night as we could smell it very strong coming into our window.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, with a pretty bathroom. A really good comfort
Cons: Maybe the location because it is on the side of the highway but the window are soundproof so the noise wasn't an issue
4.0 Okay
Pros: free parking
Cons: the room was cold, the breakfast was prepared with no passion, just like in a cantine we are far from what HIE from Leinfelden is offering. Looks like it was a old hotel, probably Novotel, which was redecorated on the cheapest way. France is unable to offers good hotels for rooms between 60 to 70 euros. In germany that is possible.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location, parking, breakfast modern style
Cons: The TV did not work
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is as it looks like at pictures. Room is clean, breakfast is nice, staff is nice. It is ok if you go by car and want to visit Strasbourg. They will give you instructions (go to parking Baggersee pay 4,20e for 24h and you get tickets for tram to city center).

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Closed to the Airport - 7 minutes drive Pizza next door Family friendly hotel Friendly staff
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, Wifi at reasonable speed, perfect location to the airport.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely and large. It was warm, fresh, clean and well presented. We had ample facilities (a cooker, coffee machine, fridge and even a microwave and dishwasher) all of which were a real bonus. After a terrible experience at another local chain hotel, it was a real treat to find this. We will definitely come back again.
Cons: Nothing is perfect. There was no remote battery or soap in the bathroom and the lampshade was broken. All were small issues, as we were very happy customers.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the bath was clean with hot water.
Cons: There is no taxi unless they come from Strasbourg which is $35 euro to go to the airport which is 8 mins away. The shuttle wasn’t running they emailed us after booking. There are no local transportation. We should have stayed at Strasbourg and taken the train which is 8 mins to the airport for 6.90 euro for 2 people for all local transport use for 24 hrs. There isn’t much around this hotel. The room had ripped casings and the window casing leaked air from outside which we can smell cigarette smells all night. We decided not to use their kitchen things after looking at it. It was clean in the room but really needs repair or renovation. You can hear the water tank in the kitchen.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, clean, good shower and bathroom
Cons: Missing extras pillows

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Planning an event in Lingolsheim? 7.0 Good
Pros: Good facilities. Good bed.
Cons: There was a tobacco smell in the room. When leaving at 7 a.m. there was no one at the reception and no notice when a person would be back. The location is away from the city centre.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean everywhere, enough place for 4 persons in the family room, friendly staffs; in spite of the location beside main street it was silent in the night. The hotel is around 10-15 min. away from the city of Strasbourg by car but it didn't disturb us since it was very easy to reach so if you have a car it's a good choice for low price(in Strasbourg you can hardly find a good hotel for this price in the Christmas season). There's also enough parking space for free in front of hotel.
Cons: We didn't know how to turn off the Ventilator in the bathroom so it was a bit noisy in the night. Probably the staffs would have helped if we had complained...We just let it and slept well since we were pretty tired.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Size of room excellent and beds super comfy. Parking was secure and TV was a good size
6.0 Good
Pros: The size of the room was good. And was very clean. There was free parking.
Cons: Far from the city center that we wanted to go. But was the cheapest option at the moment.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very clean which is important to us. The location was good for onward travelling and the price was reasonable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everythig
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was fine, WiFi worked, and there was enough parking space in front of the hotel. The location was okay, we used a public transportation, a bus line that is stationed outside the hotel. The staff was fluent in English.
Cons: The Hotel charge us a deposit fee of 150 euros although two nights in this hotel didn't matched our total price. They said that they have to check the minibar on our departure and the damage to the room, and if everything is fine, we would get the deposit back. The check out on Sunday is 7:30 so we had to wait for the receptionist. At our check out, the receptionist said they would check our room at 12:00 and then returned our deposit. That was unacceptable, so I demanded to check now and to lift the deposit fee. The receptionist (fluent in English) did not like this, but however he agreed and send a maid to our room. Then he lifted the deposit. Later I checked and there is written: "The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorize credit cards prior to arrival." I am fine if the reserved the amount I am supposed to pay for my stay, but there is nowhere written how much they would pre-autorize. So update your booking conditions and explain better.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, fast check in and free parking
Cons: Room look and furniture, bathroom should be renovated and also the smell from the room 20 minutes travel time to Strasbourg center with the car, even if the hotel is located at 8 km away
6.2 Good
Pros: location was secure and fairly central, place seemed like it was maintained ok.
Cons: Hotel was not dirty per se, but def won't be winning any awards. Beds/bathrooms were fine, everything else, a little shady.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: everything else
Cons: - the water wasnt hot enough - we tried to call the reception many times, no one answered although they told us they are always available - no parking for the hotel
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: The staff were friendly
Cons: When we arrived the bedsheets were not clean, we asked to replace them but the new ones were not any better. The room overall smells bad. The breakfast was ok, very basic though. And located far from the touristic sites.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: The room was frozen when we arrived, there is no need to leave the room with that temperature!
6.7 Good
Pros: It was ok . Nothing special
Cons: Cost quite a lot of money for a taxi to Strasbourg . I did read there was a bus but the staff told me taxi . So you really need a car
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Little smelly with drains on arrival but excellent overall. Perhaps sewerage needs sorting
Cons: Smell on arrival

Featured amenities include a business center, express check-out, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a train station pick-up service.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property with train access to the heart of Strasbourg (which unfortunately we were only informed about after check-in and after renting a car and visting Strasbourg - I wish this info would be clearer on booking.com because it adds value).
Cons: Restaurant was kind of disappointing as well as breakfast. The first for the quality-price relationship, the second could have been great if it wasn't a hectic effort from not very empathic staff running around and substituting for food with some delay. For a 24€/pax breakfast one shouldn't arrive at 9h45 (when breakfast is served until 10h30) and observe empty plates of cheese, and empty plates of salmon, empty croissant baskets with a last piece of salmon resting on the towel, and waiting a while for replacement...). If it wasn't for this we would certainly consider returning for a longer relaxing stay! A shame.
7.1 Good
Cons: The pillows were too soft and square shaped which have me neck ache the next day. The lighting in the room was too dark.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was nice and staff were very helpful
Cons: The pool area is nice but in need of minor renovations
6.7 Good
Pros: Beautiful building and surrounding gardens
Cons: Needs serious refurbishment of the whole hotel Not up to standards anymore
7.5 Good
Pros: Location And the facility in the hotel.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The staff is friendly and the hotel looks amazing from the outside. Well located and easily accessible by car.
Cons: Not a 5 stars Spa hotel at all. Spa area is not of a 4 stars hotel, let alone 5 stars: swimming pool smaller as in pics, jacuzzi small, and full of kids playing, sauna small, no drinks, no Spa personnel, it looks like low cost furniture ... no relaxing at all. Garden view means: parking view. No coffee maker in room (only instant coffee). No concierge. We looked for a relaxing weekend and we failed miserably. At checkout no chance to give feedback. Value for money: very poor.

Pros: Not much at the property
Cons: The hotel location was too far out of town with no public transport. No restaurant at the property or any where close by. The room was very small we were unable to move around and could hardly move in the shower. Staff cater for French speaking customers and were unable to communicate.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Good location near the motorway, good for a stop over on our journey. Short drive to find places to eat.
Cons: Rooms are tiny. We weren’t expecting the Ritz, but it was so small you couldn’t open the bedroom or bathroom doors without slamming into the bed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: free parking, nice and sresponsive staff. money/price excelent

Pros: Breakfast was not all that special for the money. Got down at 9:00 and most food was gone only bread left. For the money sure could have provided more than that would have saved money if bought at services!
Cons: Breakfast! Nothing left only bread and I find €9 for 2 slices of bead extremely expensive!!!!!

Pros: THe room was okay, and the parking space was free and adequate.
Cons: The breakfast service was unsatisfactory. The lady at the restaurant first showed us to a messy hall for group tourist, even we told her we are not in that group. In that hall, all tables are covered with food remains, apparently leftovers from previous users. We have to go to the receptionist again to help us take the breakfast at correct place.

Pros: Good price for strasburg and close to train station that 1 stop away with train
Cons: Hard to go to treain station on foot. Therr is no walkway you have to walk on grass. Bathroom should be clean floss were broken shower has bad smell

Pros: Good breakfast.
Cons: Smell, like was smoked in the room before.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice building, good location, good security. Microwave, vending machine, aircon
Cons: My towel had a big brown stain. There was a strong smell of urine coming from the sink, and also at some point on the way up the staircase. The air condition was set at 11 Celsius so the kids were freezing in the morning we were too tired to notice this when we arrived at night

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and quiet, great location
5.4 Okay
Cons: Had a double room which had no proper shower. Only a hose with shower head in a bath. We came straight in from Australia via Taiwan which took 30+ hours. A shower would have been nice! The town has one shop which was luckily a bakery. The hotel charges 11 euro per head for breakfast which with 3 kids is a waste of money. We could virtually never park at the hotel because the restaurant seemed full most of the time. Ended up parking some way up the road 3 nights in a row.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room, dinner and breakfast were all excellent. This was our second visit and the high standard was maintained - why look anywhere else in the area.
Cons: Steps up to the hotel entrance are a challenge for my wife who has arthritis but she has managed so far.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good bed good room nice breakfast lady who spoke English. Parking close by and reasonable close to the freeway.
Cons: The wifi in the hotel could be better and the hotel breakfast buffet could use some international influence. It was very French orientated. The room tv network had only French content. For a hotel in the Strasbourg vicinity with all it's international travellers and Germany close by it could be more international.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Location was not that bad
Cons: Old hotel with old rooms. Holes and scratches everywhere Dirty moquette and overall not clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent dinner and breakfast. Upgraded to a suite on arrival - entrance hall was bigger than many bedrooms!. Easy parking - we parked right outside the front door on all three nights.
Cons: Four steps up to main entrance but there may be a flatter route for those of more limited mobility.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location is very accessible . The Host was very accommodating and friendly to us . The Food in the Restaurant are also very good and satisfying ..
Cons: The room was too warm because of the weather . I suggest that they will provide fans for guest especially during summer season . But overall , I like the place.

8.3 Excellent
Cons: Basically you get what you pay for. While small rooms they are ideal if you need to stay to catch a flight There are no shops etc close by
5.0 Okay
Cons: I was charged a 100€ more than the reservation price. The receptionist said she wasn’t authorised to make refunds and her supervisor would take care of it fast. I’m still waiting. Even with the supplement for the breakfast. Which was bland and not very variated. I still payed too much.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The stuff were very friendly and helpful at all times.
Cons: Loved everything

7.1 Good
Pros: A great place for the amateurs of the authentic charm of an old castle, A lovely elderly couple is holding the place and they are very serviceminded and helpful, The room had a fine size and the same goes for the bathroom, with very fine facilities.
