Pros:Got a quote at $2/day. At the desk we were required to buy a minimum of liability ins for$32/day. Plus 60% tax plus another 12% tax. So our week cost us $360! But as we were renting and leaving we were hounded with incentives to reduce (eventually they said they would pay all fees) our costs if we would only go to a presentation. DONT RENT PAYLESS IN MEXICO. It is bait and switch here in the states.
Pros:Easy to find the downtown Cabo office and I preferred it this way, having rented from the airport prior - saved a few days of the car sitting at the resort when we didn't need it. Check it was straightforward. Nice VW Jetta.
Cons:Not much. They're good. Waited a few minutes for the car, but no complaints. Easy, cost effective. See you next time.
Pros:Super cheap prices quoted online.
Cons:In Los Cabos, Baja Mexico they did not have the car that was promised and wanted to give us a minivan instead of a mini-Suv. OR their alternative was a really small car, neither of which would work for us. We went to another car rental company in the "rental row" near the airport and got closer to what we needed, but with renting on the spot had to pay more. Bad way to start our quick trip to Baja. Learned my lesson.

Pros:Car was in good shape.
Cons:Had reservation to pick up at noon. No one was at the office( door was locked) until 12:15. We reserved and paid for the car for three days. Do to unforeseen circumstances we had to return the car the same day after only using it for less than 8 hours. They were not willing to return any of the costs for the three days paid for and nowhere in the written contract that I signed did it talk about early return. I will be disputing the charges and giving bad reviews wherever I can , including the Kayak service. Will not use or recommend payless or kayak again.
