We enjoyed our stay very much and were well looked after by the management and staff.
Good quality rooms with mosquito nets on the windows. Comfortable surroundings with a swimming pool. Good staff. Good and complimentary Wifi internet in the rooms. The hotel is convieniently located for chichen itza site with taxis only costing 30 pesos. It is located in the town surrounded by local restaurants, cafes, shops and a few bars. The hotel group also has another property actually at the Chicen itza site and guests can use their facilities too - including swimming pools. They will even store bags for you whilst you visit the site. All in all a good hotel with good value for money.
Small and well maintained. Good value. Would recommend to people wanting to visit Chichen Itza outside of tour bus operating tours. nothing, really.
We enjoyed our stay very much
We had a wonderful stay. Our host, Lucia, was very helpful and kind. Our small Spanish vocabulary wasn't a problem with this English speaking crew. And our breakfast at the restaurant was delicious.
Staff were very friendly, and the hotel was clean and efficient, with good sized rooms and a great shower!! The restaurant food was great value, we ended up staying an extra night!!
Very well located. It is hard to get a smile from the staff, but apart from this, service is good
Close to the pyramids but at the same time in gthe city with the real mexican flavor. Very pleasant swimming pool to refresh ourselves after 5 hour of walking through the UNESCO heritage site.
Chilled out and relaxed - clean and friendly staff - had a good time!
If you are looking to shut off from the world in luxury, this is the place! I would stay 100 more times if I could. What a magical experience!
I cannot think of another place like this. From the rooftop in the morning, you are above the treeline and can see such a variety of birds. In a remote location like this, the possibility of seeing more rare/uncommon species is much more likely. Having a rooftop perch allows you a comfortable vantage more often found in observation towers in national parks where you're unlikely to be able to stay as long as you like. Nighttime as well is incredible, being so far from cities like Cancun, the stars are so plainly visible. Breakfast was very good, service were all very friendly. Location so close to Chichen itza was perfect, we were leaving just as the first tourist buses arrived and I believe we didn't get there until 9am or later. When you go to Chichen Itza do buy a bottle of water as you go in, they are not sold within the park. The room was hot when we arrived, as to preserve energy the AC is not left on while the rooms are unused. Personally this was not at all a drawback, merely to be expected, but if you are not someone ok with spiders etc I think it may not be as enjoyable. It is the jungle after all. It is a VERY long drive if coming from Cancun Int'l airport as we were. This was not a reflection on the hotel, just something to be aware of. Had we to do it over again we would have been sure to leave earlier in the day and take time to hit a restaurant and bank in the city before departing. It was a bit disorienting driving these roads with very few exits at night. You MUST get pesos before heading out as there is nothing between the airport and the toll collection point. We got by trading dollars for pesos with a passing car, but this was again our error, something helpful to know in advance for other travellers! The lagoon behind the hotel was being serviced and was empty at the time we visited. No matter, it did not take away from the beauty of the location. Beds were just ok, rather hard, but when you're out and active all day you sleep so deep it really doesn't matter.
A resort /spa facility that was very tranquil
Superb location for visiting Chichen Itza
I have to improve some important details; such as a warm and personalized welcome. Clearly you need a structural reorganization.
design and architecture of hotel, lovely grounds to walk about and relax, proximity to Chichen Itza archeological site, dinner quality less than expected for the price
Beautiful old hotel with well appointed, clean, comfortable rooms. The rooms and bathrooms were very large. Rooms were clean and quiet. Staff were helpful in arranging a tour guide for the ruins. Food was good in hotel restaurant. Waiters were friendly and provided excellent service. Fantastic location immediately next to Chichen Itza Ruins.
The hotel and area were very authentic to the region and the hotel has a private entrance directly into the Maya ruins of Chichen Itza. Highly recommend you pay extra for a personal guided tour of the ruins. Ask for Juan. He was excellent. The room air conditioner was not as cold as we would have liked but it was adequate. The ambience of the hotel made up for this.
Close to Hacienda Chichen where I can get actual good food Overpriced. hotel that is not very well maintained.
everything was pefect nothing
Love this hotel will be back for sure! Beautiful layout. Loved everything about this place, except for the guy using a leaf blower. Other staff cleaned with brooms, and it is much more peaceful. Didn't like all the tour groups that would take over the hotel from the early morning until the afternoon, because of the location of the hotel. Oh yeah and we had a great room but the bathroom always smelled really bad, a shame because there was a beautiful tub but who wants to soak in a toxic smelling room? Restaurant menu a little small as well but food was good.
The location. 10 minutes walk and you are in Chichen Itza main square. You look out of the window of your room and (if you are in the right room) you see the Observatory. The hotel itself is very good and comfortable and the rooms spacious. Staff works like a clock, nice and efficient. WiFi barely reached our room (but I had a USB key connection as back-up) and WiFi is available in the lobby and around, so no problem.
the colonial hacienda feel is excellent with luxurious gardens and very nice views of the ruins which are in fact connected with the property, making it ideal if you want to visit chichenitza - book a personnel guide with the hotel employees (500 pesos in spanish, 600 english) the night before and visit the ruins at 08am virtually alone - its worth all the money altough it is a nice experience to really feel the immersion in the jungle in a colonial style, you feel somehow youre just another tourist staying for the night. The restaurant is expensive compared to other high level places in the region (i tried at least 2 in merida) and you feel that happens because you have no other option unless you go to the next village which is not easy
Excellent location, and very walkable to the ruins. Rooms were tidy and the place was very clean. Poor wifi. Often had to move around the hotel to try to find a working signal. Also, didn't realize breakfast was extra.
Very close to Chichen Itza (walk a bit, maybe 5 minutes, then you are in Chichen Itza). Meal plan is convenient. If you are using resort standard, i.e. someone treats you like prince and princess then this is not up to the standard. If you just want a clean and nice place to stay with easy access to the ruin, this place is perfect. Receptionist is a grumpy lady. The information provided about Sound and Light show is not quite correct (but...it doesn't seem like anyone know for sure how to get into the Night and Light show...)
Close to Chitchen Itza Quality of food in general is poor and not fresh. Fish for dinner is inedible, soft and smell strong. Quantity of breakfast is minimal and even bread is not fresh too.
Unique decoration. No wifi in rooms. Have to take a taxi from main gate to get to hotel. Not enough hot water to take shower
We liked how close VA was to the ruins--you can walk to the back/side entrance! The room was quaint and pretty clean. The restaurant was hit and miss, but the shrimp ceviche, guac, spicy salsa, fresh made tortilla chips, and margaritas were the best I had during my stay in Mexico. The pool was pretty quiet, a nice little oasis after a hot day in the bustle of CI. My main complaint is that one of the two days we stayed, the electricity was out for the majority of the morning and afternoon. We were told this would happen when we arrived, but we were merely informed, and no effort was made to compensate us for this huge inconvenience. We spent the morning at the ruins and returned during the hottest part of the day to no air-conditioning, no frozen margaritas, no working credit card machine, and a pool without a functioning filter that quickly became cloudy and gross.
Staff was really nice and super helpfull. Ubication was great
Classy style and ambiance, great food and service, tranquil setting-everything I needed.
Location is the main plus. Food is better at the neighboring lodge, and the beds are hard. You pay a lot to be this close. the food
perfect location, simple but cosy rooms, good food and service all day long.
Just be aware that there is no TV in the rooms.
Good Value for Money, Neat, No-fuss, innovative room layout Bad water pressure, Limited food options, Slow WI-FI
The hotel is a short distance from the Mayan ruins (though not walking distance). It has a bar and restaurant, a swimming pool and hammocks. The room had more than one lizard and spiders which made for an uneasy stay. The on duty staff offered no help except to say that they must have entered the room from under the door and to recommend that I use a towel to cover it.
Hotel is easy to find and close to Chichen Itza. Reasonable priced, Wi-Fi works well, the beds are firm, and the place is clean. It is right next to road, so a little noisy, and it is showing its age.
Location is fantastic: Right in front of the Ik Kil Cenote, 5 minutes away from Chichen Itza: sleeping there allows you to avoid the crowds and make a very proactive use of the day. The price was very good, and the included breakfast quite honest. The rooms are aging. Since the AC isn't open all the time and the windows kept open, the jungle humidity can be hard to get rid of. The staff, while courteous isn't very talkative. The rooms are clean, but the linens are deteriorated & need to be changed.
